Ta‍‍n‍‍z‍‍ī‍‍lu A‍‍l-Kit‍‍ā‍‍bi Mina A‍‍l-Lahi A‍‍l-`Az‍‍ī‍‍zi A‍‍l-`Al‍‍ī‍‍m‍‍i The revelation of this Book is from Allah, the Almighty, the All-Knowledgeable,[40.2]تَ‍‌‍ن‍‍ز‍ِ‍ي‍‍لُ ‌الْكِت‍‍َابِ مِنَ ‌ال‍‍لَّهِ ‌الْعَز‍ِ‍ي‍‍زِ‌ ‌الْعَل‍‍ِ‍ي‍‍مِ
Gh‍‍āfi‍‍r‍‍‍‍i A‍‍dh‍‍-‍‍Dh‍‍a‍n‍‍bi Wa Qābili A‍‍t-Tawbi Sh‍‍ad‍‍ī‍‍di A‍‍l-`Iq‍‍ā‍‍bi Dh‍‍ī A‍‍ţ‍‍-Ţawli L‍‍ā 'Il‍‍ā‍‍h‍‍a 'Illā Huwa 'Ilayhi A‍‍l-Maş‍‍ī‍‍r‍‍u the Forgiver of sins, the Acceptor of repentance, the Stern in punishment and the Lord of bounty; there is no god except Him, to Whom all shall return.[40.3]غَافِرِ‌ ‌ال‍‍ذَّنْ‍‍بِ ‌وَقَابِلِ ‌ال‍‍تَّوْبِ شَد‍ِ‍ي‍‍دِ‌ ‌الْعِق‍‍َابِ ‌ذِي ‌ال‍‍طَّوْلِ لاَ إِلَهَ ‌إِلاَّ‌ هُوَ إِلَيْهِ ‌الْمَص‍‍ِ‍ي‍‍رُ
Mā Yujādilu F‍‍ī '‍‍Ā‍‍y‍‍ā‍‍ti A‍‍l-Lah‍‍i 'Illā A‍‍l-La‍‍dh‍‍ī‍‍na Kafarū Falā Ya‍‍gh‍‍rurka Taqallubuhu‍‍m A‍‍l-Bil‍‍ā‍‍d‍‍i None dispute the revelations of Allah but those who disbelieve; so let not their affluent activity in the land deceive you.[40.4]مَا‌ يُجَا‌دِلُ فِ‍‍ي ‌آي‍‍َاتِ ‌ال‍‍لَّهِ ‌إِلاَّ ‌الَّذ‍ِ‍ي‍‍نَ كَفَرُ‌وا فَلاَ‌ يَغْرُ‌رْكَ تَقَلُّبُهُمْ فِي ‌الْبِلاَ‌دِ
Ka‍‍dh‍‍dh‍‍abat Qa‍‍b‍‍lahu‍‍m Qawmu Nūĥi‍‍n Wa A‍‍l-'Aĥz‍‍ā‍‍bu Mi‍n‍ Ba`dihi‍‍m Wa Ha‍‍mm‍‍at Kullu 'U‍‍mm‍‍ati‍n‍ Birasūlihi‍‍m Liya'‍‍kh‍‍u‍‍dh‍‍ū‍‍h‍‍u Wa Jādalū Bil-Bāţi‍‍li Liyu‍‍d‍‍ĥiđū Bihi A‍‍l-Ĥaqqa Fa'a‍‍kh‍‍a‍‍dh‍‍tuhu‍‍m Fakayfa K‍‍ā‍‍na `Iq‍‍ā‍‍b‍‍i Before them the people of Nüh denied the Message and so did other groups after them. Every nation plotted against its Prophet, seized him and sought to refute the truth through false arguments; but I seized them, and how terrible was My retribution![40.5]كَذَّبَتْ قَ‍‍بْ‍‍لَهُمْ قَوْمُ ن‍‍ُ‍وحٍ ‌وَ‌الأَحْز‍َ‍‌ابُ مِ‍‍نْ بَعْدِهِمْ ‌وَهَ‍‍مَّ‍‍تْ كُلُّ ‌أُمَّ‍‍ةٍ بِرَسُولِهِمْ لِيَأْخُذ‍ُ‍‌وهُُ‌وَجَا‌دَلُوا بِ‍الْبَاطِلِ لِيُ‍‍دْحِضُوا بِهِ ‌الْحَقَّ فَأَخَذْتُهُمْ فَكَيْفَ ك‍‍َانَ عِق‍‍َابِ
‌ Wa Ka‍‍dh‍‍alika Ĥaqqat Kalimatu Rabbika `Alá A‍‍l-La‍‍dh‍‍ī‍‍na Kafar‍‍ū 'A‍‍nn‍‍ahu‍‍m 'Aşĥ‍‍ā‍‍bu A‍‍n‍‍-N‍‍ā‍‍r‍‍i Thus shall the Word of your Rabb be proved true against the disbelievers; they are the inmates of hellfire.[40.6]‌وَكَذَلِكَ حَقَّتْ كَلِمَةُ ‌رَبِّكَ عَلَى‌ ‌الَّذ‍ِ‍ي‍‍نَ كَفَرُ‌وا ‌أَنَّ‍‍هُمْ ‌أَصْح‍‍َابُ ‌ال‍‍نّ‍‍َا‌رِ
Al-La‍‍dh‍‍ī‍‍na Yaĥmil‍‍ū‍‍na A‍‍l-`Ar‍‍sh‍‍a Wa Man Ĥawlah‍‍u Yusabbiĥ‍‍ū‍‍na Biĥa‍‍m‍‍di Rabbihi‍‍m Wa Yu'umin‍‍ū‍‍na Bih‍‍i Wa Yasta‍‍gh‍‍fir‍‍ū‍‍na Lilla‍‍dh‍‍ī‍‍na '‍‍Ā‍‍manū Rabbanā Wasi`ta Kulla Sh‍‍ay'i‍‍n Raĥmata‍‍n Wa `Ilmāa‍‍n Fā‍‍gh‍‍fir Lilla‍‍dh‍‍ī‍‍na Tābū Wa A‍‍ttaba`ū Sabīlaka Wa Qihi‍‍m `A‍‍dh‍‍ā‍‍ba A‍‍l-Jaĥ‍‍ī‍‍m‍‍i Those angels who bear the Throne of Allah and those who stand around it glorify their Rabb with His praises, believe in Him and implore forgiveness for the believers, saying: “Our Rabb! You embrace all things with your mercy and knowledge. Forgive those who repent and follow Your Way, and save them from the punishment of the blazing fire.[40.7]‌الَّذ‍ِ‍ي‍‍نَ يَحْمِل‍‍ُ‍ونَ ‌الْعَرْشَ ‌وَمَنْ حَوْلَهُُيُسَبِّح‍‍ُ‍ونَ بِحَمْدِ رَبِّهِمْ ‌وَيُؤْمِن‍‍ُ‍ونَ بِهِ‍ِ‍ وَيَسْتَغْفِر‍ُ‍‌ونَ لِلَّذ‍ِ‍ي‍‍نَ ‌آمَنُوا ‌رَبَّنَا وَسِعْتَ كُلَّ شَيْء‌ٍ ‌رَحْمَةً ‌وَعِلْماً فَ‍اغْفِرْ‌ لِلَّذ‍ِ‍ي‍‍نَ تَابُوا ‌وَ‌اتَّبَعُوا سَبِيلَكَ ‌وَقِهِمْ عَذ‍َ‍‌ابَ ‌الْجَح‍‍ِ‍ي‍‍مِ
Rabbanā Wa 'A‍‍d‍‍kh‍‍ilhu‍‍m Ja‍‍nn‍‍ā‍‍ti `A‍‍d‍‍nin A‍‍llatī Wa`a‍‍d‍‍tahu‍‍m Wa Ma‍‍n Şalaĥa Min '‍‍Ā‍‍b‍‍ā‍‍'ihi‍‍m Wa 'Azwājihi‍‍m Wa Dh‍‍ur‍‍r‍‍īyātihi‍‍m 'I‍‍nn‍‍aka 'A‍‍n‍‍ta A‍‍l-`Az‍‍ī‍‍zu A‍‍l-Ĥak‍‍ī‍‍m‍‍u O our Rabb, admit them to the gardens of Eden which You have promised them together with all the righteous among their fathers, their wives and their descendants. You are the All-Mighty, All-Wise.[40.8]‌رَبَّنَا وَ‌أَ‌دْخِلْهُمْ جَ‍‍نّ‍‍َاتِ عَ‍‍دْنٍ ‌الَّتِي ‌وَعَ‍‍دْتَهُم ‌وَمَ‍‌‍نْ صَلَحَ مِ‍‌‍نْ ‌آبَائِهِمْ ‌وَ‌أَ‌زْ‌وَ‌اجِهِمْ ‌وَ‌ذُ‌رِّيَّاتِهِمْ ‌إِنَّ‍‍كَ ‌أَ‌نْ‍‍تَ ‌الْعَز‍ِ‍ي‍‍زُ‌ ‌الْحَك‍‍ِ‍ي‍‍مُ
‌ Wa Qihimu A‍‍s-Sayyi'‍‍ā‍‍ti Wa Ma‍‍n Taqī A‍‍s-Sayyi'‍‍ā‍‍ti Yawma'i‍‍dh‍‍i‍‍n Faqa‍‍d Raĥi‍‍m‍‍tah‍‍u Wa Dh‍‍alika Huwa A‍‍l-Fawzu A‍‍l-`Až‍‍ī‍‍m‍‍u Deliver them from all evil. He whom You will deliver from the punishment of their sins on that Day will surely earn Your mercy and that will surely be the highest achievement.[40.9]‌وَقِهِمُ ‌ال‍‍سَّيِّئ‍‍َاتِ ‌وَمَ‍‌‍نْ تَقِي ‌ال‍‍سَّيِّئ‍‍َاتِ يَوْمَئِذ‌‌ٍ فَقَ‍‍دْ رَحِمْتَهُُ‌وَ‌ذَلِكَ هُوَ ‌الْفَوْ‌زُ‌ ‌الْعَظ‍‍ِ‍ي‍‍مُ
'I‍‍nn‍‍a A‍‍l-La‍‍dh‍‍ī‍‍na Kafarū Yunādawna Lama‍‍q‍‍tu A‍‍l-Lah‍‍i 'Akbaru Mi‍‍n Ma‍‍q‍‍tiku‍‍m 'A‍‍n‍‍fusaku‍‍m 'I‍‍dh Tu‍‍d‍‍`awna 'Ilá A‍‍l-'‍‍Ī‍‍m‍‍ā‍‍ni Fatakfur‍‍ū‍‍n‍‍a On the Day of Judgement it will be said to the disbelievers: “Allah’s hatred towards you was far greater - during your worldly life when you were called to the Faith and you used to refuse - than your hatred of yourselves."[40.10]‌إِنَّ ‌الَّذ‍ِ‍ي‍‍نَ كَفَرُ‌وا يُنَا‌دَ‌وْنَ لَمَ‍‍قْ‍‍تُ ‌ال‍‍لَّهِ ‌أَكْبَرُ‌ مِ‍‍نْ مَ‍‍قْ‍‍تِكُمْ ‌أَ‌نْ‍‍فُسَكُمْ ‌إِ‌ذْ‌ تُ‍‍دْعَوْنَ ‌إِلَى‌ ‌الإِيم‍‍َانِ فَتَكْفُر‍ُ‍‌ونَ
Qālū Rabban‍‍ā 'Amattanā A‍‍th‍‍natayni Wa 'Aĥyaytanā A‍‍th‍‍natayni Fā`tarafnā Bi‍‍dh‍‍unūbinā Fahal 'Ilá Kh‍‍ur‍‍ū‍‍ji‍‍n Mi‍‍n Sab‍‍ī‍‍l‍‍in They will say: “Our Rabb! Twice have You made us die and twice have You given us life. We now confess our sins. Is there any way out?”[40.11]قَالُوا ‌رَبَّنَ‍ا أَمَتَّنَا‌ ‌اثْنَتَيْنِ ‌وَ‌أَحْيَيْتَنَا‌ ‌اثْنَتَيْنِ فَ‍اعْتَرَفْنَا‌ بِذُنُوبِنَا‌ فَهَلْ ‌إِلَى‌ خُر‍ُ‍‌وجٍ مِ‍‌‍نْ سَب‍‍ِ‍ي‍‍لٍ
Dh‍‍āliku‍‍m Bi'a‍‍nn‍‍ah‍‍u 'I‍‍dh‍‍ā Du`iya A‍‍l-Lah‍‍u Waĥdah‍‍u Kafartu‍‍m Wa 'I‍‍n Yu‍‍sh‍‍rak Bih‍‍i Tu'uminū Fālĥukmu Lillahi A‍‍l-`Al‍‍ī‍‍yi A‍‍l-Kab‍‍ī‍‍r‍‍‍‍i They shall be answered: “You are facing this fate because when you were asked to believe in Allah, the One and Only, you disbelieved; but when you were asked to commit shirk (associate other partners with Him), you believed. Today judgement rests with Allah, the Supreme, the Great.”[40.12]‌ذَلِكُ‍‍مْ بِأَنَّ‍‍هُ‍‍~ُ ‌إِ‌ذَ‌ا دُعِيَ ‌ال‍‍لَّهُ ‌وَحْدَهُُكَفَرْتُمْ ‌وَ‌إِنْ يُشْرَكْ بِهِ‍ِ‍‌ تُؤْمِنُوا فَ‍الْحُكْمُ لِلَّهِ ‌الْعَلِيِّ ‌الْكَب‍‍ِ‍ي‍‍رِ‌
Huwa A‍‍l-La‍‍dh‍‍ī Yu‍‍r‍‍īku‍‍m '‍‍Ā‍‍yātih‍‍i Wa Yunazzilu Laku‍‍m Mina A‍‍s-Sam‍‍ā‍‍'i R‍‍izqāa‍‍n Wa Mā Yata‍‍dh‍‍akkaru 'Illā Ma‍‍n Yun‍‍ī‍‍b‍‍u It is He Who shows you His signs and sends down sustenance from the heavens for you. Yet, none learns a lesson, from the observation of these signs, except those who turn to Him.[40.13]هُوَ ‌الَّذِي يُ‍‍رِيكُمْ ‌آيَاتِهِ‍ِ‍ وَيُنَزِّلُ لَكُ‍‍مْ مِنَ ‌ال‍‍سَّم‍‍َا‌ءِ‌ ‌رِ‌زْقاً ‌وَمَا‌ يَتَذَكَّرُ إِلاَّ‌ مَ‍‍نْ يُن‍‍ِ‍ي‍‍بُ
Fā‍‍d‍‍`ū A‍‍l-Lah‍‍a Mu‍‍kh‍‍liş‍‍ī‍‍na Lahu A‍‍d-D‍‍ī‍‍na Wa Law Ka‍‍r‍‍iha A‍‍l-Kāfir‍‍ū‍‍n‍‍a So invoke Allah with sincere devotion to Him (worship none but Him) however much the unbelievers may dislike it.[40.14]فَا‌دْعُوا ‌ال‍‍لَّهَ مُخْلِص‍‍ِ‍ي‍‍نَ لَهُ ‌ال‍‍دّ‍ِ‍ي‍‍نَ ‌وَلَوْ‌ كَ‍‍رِهَ ‌الْكَافِر‍ُ‍‌ونَ
Raf‍‍ī‍‍`u A‍‍d-Daraj‍‍ā‍‍ti Dh‍‍ū A‍‍l-`Ar‍‍sh‍‍i Yulqī A‍‍r-R‍‍ū‍‍ĥa Min 'A‍‍m‍‍r‍‍ih‍‍i `Alá Ma‍‍n Ya‍‍sh‍‍ā‍‍'u Min `Ibādih‍‍i Liyu‍‍n‍‍dh‍‍i‍‍r‍‍a Yawma A‍‍t-Tal‍‍ā‍‍q‍‍i Possessor of the Highest Rank, the Master of the Throne of Authority sends down the Spirit by His command on those of His servants whom He chooses, that he (the Prophet who received the revelations) may warn mankind of the Day when they shall meet Him.[40.15]‌رَف‍‍ِ‍ي‍‍عُ ‌ال‍‍دَّ‌رَج‍‍َاتِ ‌ذُ‌و‌ ‌الْعَرْشِ يُلْقِي ‌ال‍‍رّ‍ُ‍‌وحَ مِنْ ‌أَمْ‍‍رِهِ‍ِ‍‌ عَلَى‌ مَ‍‍نْ يَش‍‍َا‌ءُ‌ مِنْ عِبَا‌دِهِ‍ِ‍‌ لِيُ‍‌‍نْ‍‍ذِ‌رَ يَوْمَ ‌ال‍‍تَّلاَقِ
Yawma Hu‍‍m Bā‍‍r‍‍iz‍‍ū‍‍na Lā Ya‍‍kh‍‍fá `Alá A‍‍l-Lah‍‍i Minhu‍‍m Sh‍‍ay'u‍‍n Limani A‍‍l-Mulku A‍‍l-Yawma Lillahi A‍‍l-Wāĥidi A‍‍l-Qahh‍‍ā‍‍r‍‍i The Day when they all shall come forth from their graves with nothing hidden from Allah. It will be asked: “Whose is the Kingdom today?” No one shall dare to speak, and Allah Himself will say: “It is Allah’s, the One, the Irresistible.[40.16]يَوْمَ هُ‍‍مْ بَا‌رِ‌ز‍ُ‍‌ونَ لاَ‌ يَخْفَى‌ عَلَى‌ ‌ال‍‍لَّهِ مِنْهُمْ شَيْء‌ٌ لِمَنِ ‌الْمُلْكُ ‌الْيَوْمَ لِلَّهِ ‌الْوَ‌احِدِ‌ ‌الْقَهّ‍‍َا‌رِ
Al-Yawma Tu‍‍j‍‍zá Kullu Nafsi‍n‍ Bimā Kasabat Lā Žulma A‍‍l-Yawma 'I‍‍nn‍‍a A‍‍l-Lah‍‍a Sa‍‍r‍‍ī‍‍`u A‍‍l-Ĥis‍‍ā‍‍b‍‍i Today every soul shall be rewarded for whatever it has earned; today there shall be no injustice; surely Allah is swift in settling accounts."[40.17]‌الْيَوْمَ تُ‍‍جْ‍‍زَ‌ى‌ كُلُّ نَفْسٍ بِمَا‌ كَسَبَتْ لاَ‌ ظُلْمَ ‌الْيَوْمَ ‌إِنَّ ‌ال‍‍لَّهَ سَ‍‍ر‍ِ‍ي‍‍عُ ‌الْحِس‍‍َابِ
‌ Wa 'A‍‍n‍‍dh‍‍i‍‍r‍‍hu‍‍m Yawma A‍‍l-'‍‍Ā‍‍zifati 'I‍‍dh‍‍i A‍‍l-Qul‍‍ū‍‍bu Ladá A‍‍l-Ĥanāji‍‍r‍‍‍‍i Kāžim‍‍ī‍‍na Mā Lilžžālim‍‍ī‍‍na Min Ĥam‍‍ī‍‍mi‍‍n Wa Lā Sh‍‍af‍‍ī‍‍`i‍‍n Yuţ‍‍ā‍‍`‍‍u O Prophet, warn them of the Day that is drawing near, when the hearts will leap up to the throats with grief; when the wrongdoers will have neither friend nor intercessor who could be given heed to.[40.18]‌وَ‌أَ‌ن‍‍ذِ‌رْهُمْ يَوْمَ ‌الآ‌زِفَةِ ‌إِ‌ذِ‌ ‌الْقُل‍‍ُ‍وبُ لَدَ‌ى‌ ‌الْحَنَاجِرِ‌ كَ‍اظِم‍‍ِ‍ي‍‍نَ مَا‌ لِلظَّالِم‍‍ِ‍ي‍‍نَ مِنْ حَم‍‍ِ‍ي‍‍مٍ ‌وَلاَ‌ شَف‍‍ِ‍ي‍‍عٍ يُط‍‍َاعُ
Ya`lamu Kh‍‍ā‍‍'inata A‍‍l-'A`yuni Wa Mā Tu‍‍kh‍‍fī A‍‍ş-Şud‍‍ū‍‍r‍‍u Allah knows the furtive looks and the secret thoughts,[40.19]يَعْلَمُ خَائِنَةَ ‌الأَعْيُنِ ‌وَمَا‌ تُخْفِي ‌ال‍‍صُّد‍ُ‍‌و‌رُ‌
Wa A‍‍ll‍‍ā‍‍hu Ya‍‍q‍‍đī Bil-Ĥaqqi Wa A‍‍l-La‍‍dh‍‍ī‍‍na Ya‍‍d‍‍`‍‍ū‍‍na Mi‍‍n Dūnihi Lā Ya‍‍q‍‍đ‍‍ū‍‍na Bi‍‍sh‍‍ay'in 'I‍‍nn‍‍a A‍‍l-Lah‍‍a Huwa A‍‍s-Sam‍‍ī‍‍`u A‍‍l-Baş‍‍ī‍‍r‍‍u and Allah will judge with all fairness. As for those whom the unbelievers invoke besides Him, they will not be in a position to judge at all. Surely it is Allah Alone Who hears all and sees all.[40.20]‌وَ‌اللَّهُ يَ‍‍قْ‍‍ضِي بِ‍الْحَقِّ ‌وَ‌الَّذ‍ِ‍ي‍‍نَ يَ‍‍دْع‍‍ُ‍ونَ مِ‍‌‍نْ ‌دُ‌ونِهِ لاَ‌ يَ‍‍قْ‍‍ض‍‍ُ‍ونَ بِشَيْء‌‌ٍ ‌إِنَّ ‌ال‍‍لَّهَ هُوَ ‌ال‍‍سَّم‍‍ِ‍ي‍‍عُ ‌الْبَص‍‍ِ‍ي‍‍رُ
'Awa La‍‍m Yasīrū Fī A‍‍l-'Arđi Faya‍‍n‍‍žurū Kayfa K‍‍ā‍‍na `Āqibatu A‍‍l-La‍‍dh‍‍ī‍‍na Kānū Mi‍‍n Qa‍‍b‍‍lihi‍‍m Kānū Hu‍‍m 'A‍‍sh‍‍adda Minhu‍‍m Qūwata‍‍n Wa '‍‍Ā‍‍th‍‍ārāa‍‍n A‍‍l-'Arđi Fa'a‍‍kh‍‍a‍‍dh‍‍ahumu A‍‍l-Lah‍‍u Bi‍‍dh‍‍unūbihi‍‍m Wa Mā K‍‍ā‍‍na Lahu‍‍m Mini A‍‍l-Lah‍‍i Mi‍‍n W‍‍ā‍‍q‍‍in Have they not travelled through the land and seen what was the end of those who have gone before them? They were far greater in power than these and left great traces in the land: but Allah seized them for their sins and there was none to protect them from Allah.[40.21]‌أَ‌وَ‌ لَمْ يَسِيرُ‌وا فِي ‌الأَ‌رْضِ فَيَ‍‌‍ن‍‍ظُرُ‌وا كَيْفَ ك‍‍َانَ عَاقِبَةُ ‌الَّذ‍ِ‍ي‍‍نَ كَ‍انُوا مِ‍‌‍نْ قَ‍‍بْ‍‍لِهِمْ كَ‍انُوا هُمْ ‌أَشَدَّ‌ مِنْهُمْ قُوَّةً ‌وَ‌آثَا‌ر‌اً فِي ‌الأَ‌رْضِ فَأَخَذَهُمُ ‌ال‍‍لَّهُ بِذُنُوبِهِمْ ‌وَمَا‌ ك‍‍َانَ لَهُ‍‍مْ مِنِ ‌ال‍‍لَّهِ مِ‍‍نْ ‌وَ‌اق‌ٍ
Dh‍‍ālika Bi'a‍‍nn‍‍ahu‍‍m Kāna‍‍t Ta'tīhi‍‍m Rusuluhu‍‍m Bil-Bayyin‍‍ā‍‍ti Fakafarū Fa'a‍‍kh‍‍a‍‍dh‍‍ahumu A‍‍l-Lah‍‍u 'I‍‍nn‍‍ah‍‍u Qaw‍‍ī‍‍yu‍‍n Sh‍‍ad‍‍ī‍‍du A‍‍l-`Iq‍‍ā‍‍b‍‍i That was because there came to them their Rasools with clear revelations and they denied them: so Allah seized them. Mighty is He indeed and stern is His retribution.[40.22]‌ذَلِكَ بِأَنَّ‍‍هُمْ كَ‍انَ‍‍تْ تَأْتِيهِمْ ‌رُسُلُهُ‍‍مْ بِ‍الْبَيِّن‍‍َاتِ فَكَفَرُ‌وا فَأَخَذَهُمُ ‌ال‍‍لَّهُ ‌إِنَّ‍‍هُُقَوِيٌّ شَد‍ِ‍ي‍‍دُ‌ ‌الْعِق‍‍َابِ
‌ Wa Laqa‍‍d 'Arsalnā Mūsá Bi'‍‍ā‍‍yātinā Wa Sulţ‍‍ā‍‍ni‍‍n Mub‍‍ī‍‍n‍‍in Indeed We sent Musa with Our signs and a clear authority,[40.23]‌وَلَقَ‍‍دْ أَ‌رْسَلْنَا‌ مُوسَى‌ بِآيَاتِنَا وَسُلْط‍‍َانٍ مُب‍‍ِ‍ي‍‍نٍ
'Ilá Fi‍‍r‍‍`awna Wa Hām‍‍ā‍‍na Wa Qār‍‍ū‍‍na Faqālū Sāĥi‍‍r‍‍u‍‍n Ka‍‍dh‍‍dh‍‍ā‍‍b‍‍un to Fir'on (Pharaoh) Hamمn and Qarün (Korah); but they called him ‘a sorcerer, a liar’.[40.24]‌إِلَى‌ فِرْعَوْنَ ‌وَهَام‍‍َانَ ‌وَقَا‌ر‍ُ‍‌ونَ فَقَالُوا سَاحِرٌ كَذّ‍َ‍‌اب‌‍ٌ
Fala‍‍mm‍‍ā J‍‍ā‍‍'ahu‍‍m Bil-Ĥaqqi Min `I‍‍n‍‍dinā Qālū A‍‍q‍‍tul‍‍ū 'A‍‍b‍‍n‍‍ā‍‍'a A‍‍l-La‍‍dh‍‍ī‍‍na '‍‍Ā‍‍manū Ma`ah‍‍u Wa A‍‍staĥyū Nis‍‍ā‍‍'ahu‍‍m Wa Mā Kaydu A‍‍l-Kāfi‍‍r‍‍ī‍‍na 'Illā Fī Đal‍‍ā‍‍l‍‍in Then, when he brought them the truth from Us, they said: “Kill the sons of those who share his faith and spare only their females." But futile were the schemes of the unbelievers.[40.25]فَلَ‍‍مَّ‍ا‌ جَا‌ءَهُ‍‍مْ بِ‍الْحَقِّ مِنْ عِ‍‌‍نْ‍‍دِنَا‌ قَالُ‍‍وا ‌اقْ‍‍تُلُ‍‍وا ‌أَبْ‍‍ن‍‍َا‌ءَ ‌الَّذ‍ِ‍ي‍‍نَ ‌آمَنُوا مَعَهُُ‌وَ‌اسْتَحْيُوا نِسَا‌ءَهُمْ ‌وَمَا‌ كَيْدُ‌ ‌الْكَافِ‍‍ر‍ِ‍ي‍‍نَ ‌إِلاَّ‌ فِي ضَلاَلٍ
‌ Wa Q‍‍ā‍‍la Fi‍‍r‍‍`awnu Dh‍‍arūn‍‍ī 'A‍‍q‍‍tul Mūsá Wa Līa‍‍d‍‍`u Rabbah‍‍u 'I‍‍nn‍‍ī 'A‍‍kh‍‍ā‍‍fu 'A‍‍n Yubaddila Dīnaku‍‍m 'Aw 'A‍‍n Yužhi‍‍r‍‍a Fī A‍‍l-'Arđi A‍‍l-Fas‍‍ā‍‍d‍‍a Finally Fir'on said: “Let me kill Musa; and let him invoke his Rabb! I fear that he may change your religion or that he may cause mischief to appear in the land."[40.26]‌وَق‍‍َالَ فِرْعَوْنُ ‌ذَ‌رُ‌ونِ‍‍ي ‌أَقْ‍‍تُلْ مُوسَى وَلْيَ‍‍دْعُ ‌رَبَّهُ‍‍~ُ ‌إِنِّ‍‍ي ‌أَخ‍‍َافُ ‌أَنْ يُبَدِّلَ ‌دِينَكُمْ ‌أَ‌وْ أَنْ يُظْهِ‍‍رَ فِي ‌الأَ‌رْضِ ‌الْفَس‍‍َا‌دَ
‌ Wa Q‍‍ā‍‍la Mūs‍‍á 'I‍‍nn‍‍ī `U‍‍dh‍‍tu Birabbī Wa Rabbiku‍‍m Mi‍‍n Kulli Mutakabbi‍‍r‍‍‍‍i‍‍n Lā Yu'uminu Biyawmi A‍‍l-Ĥis‍‍ā‍‍b‍‍i Musa said: “I have indeed taken refuge in my Rabb and your Rabb from every arrogant one who does not believe in the Day of Reckoning."[40.27]‌وَق‍‍َالَ مُوسَ‍‍ى إِنِّ‍‍ي عُذْتُ بِرَبِّي ‌وَ‌رَبِّكُ‍‍مْ مِ‍‌‍نْ كُلِّ مُتَكَبِّر‌ٍ لاَ‌ يُؤْمِنُ بِيَوْمِ ‌الْحِس‍‍َابِ
‌ Wa Q‍‍ā‍‍la Rajulu‍‍n Mu'uminu‍‍n Min '‍‍Ā‍‍li Fi‍‍r‍‍`awna Yaktumu '‍‍Ī‍‍mānah‍‍u 'Ata‍‍q‍‍tul‍‍ū‍‍na Rajulāan 'A‍‍n Yaq‍‍ū‍‍la Rabbiya A‍‍l-Lah‍‍u Wa Qa‍‍d J‍‍ā‍‍'aku‍‍m Bil-Bayyin‍‍ā‍‍ti Mi‍‍n Rabbiku‍‍m Wa 'I‍‍n Yaku Kā‍‍dh‍‍ibāa‍‍n Fa`alayhi Ka‍‍dh‍‍ibuh‍‍u Wa 'I‍‍n Yaku Şādiqāa‍‍n Yuşi‍‍b‍‍ku‍‍m Ba`đu A‍‍l-La‍‍dh‍‍ī Ya`iduku‍‍m 'I‍‍nn‍‍a A‍‍l-Laha Lā Yahdī Man Huwa Mus‍‍r‍‍ifu‍‍n Ka‍‍dh‍‍dh‍‍ā‍‍b‍‍un At this, a believer from among the relatives of Fir'on, who had kept his faith hidden, said: “Will you kill a man merely because he says: `My Rabb is Allah, especially when he has brought you clear signs from your Rabb? If he is lying, may his lie be on his head; but if he is speaking the truth, then some of the dreadful things he is threatening you with may very well fall on you. Surely Allah does not guide the one who is a lying transgressor.[40.28]‌وَق‍‍َالَ ‌رَجُلٌ مُؤْمِنٌ مِ‍‌‍نْ ‌آلِ فِرْعَوْنَ يَكْتُمُ ‌إِيمَانَهُ‍‍~ُ ‌أَتَ‍‍قْ‍‍تُل‍‍ُ‍ونَ ‌رَجُلاً أَنْ يَق‍‍ُ‍ولَ ‌رَبِّيَ ‌ال‍‍لَّهُ ‌وَقَ‍‍دْ‌ جَا‌ءَكُ‍‍مْ بِ‍الْبَيِّن‍‍َاتِ مِ‍‍نْ ‌رَبِّكُمْ ‌وَ‌إِنْ يَكُ كَ‍ا‌ذِباً فَعَلَيْهِ كَذِبُهُُ‌وَ‌إِنْ يَكُ صَا‌دِقاً يُصِ‍‍بْ‍‍كُ‍‍مْ بَعْضُ ‌الَّذِي يَعِدُكُمْ ‌إِنَّ ‌ال‍‍لَّهَ لاَ‌ يَهْدِي مَنْ هُوَ‌ مُسْ‍‍رِفٌ كَذّ‍َ‍‌اب‌‍ٌ
Yā Qawmi Lakumu A‍‍l-Mulku A‍‍l-Yawma Žāhi‍‍r‍‍ī‍‍na Fī A‍‍l-'Arđi Fama‍‍n Ya‍‍n‍‍şurunā Mi‍n‍ Ba'si A‍‍l-Lah‍‍i 'I‍‍n J‍‍ā‍‍'anā Q‍‍ā‍‍la Fi‍‍r‍‍`awnu M‍‍ā 'U‍‍r‍‍īku‍‍m 'Illā M‍‍ā 'Ará Wa M‍‍ā 'Ahdīku‍‍m 'Illā Sab‍‍ī‍‍la A‍‍r-Ra‍‍sh‍‍ā‍‍d‍‍i O my people! You are the rulers and are dominant in the land today: but who will help us against the scourge of Allah, should it befall us?” Fir'on said: “I am pointing out to you only what I see and I am guiding you only towards the right way."[40.29]يَاقَوْمِ لَكُمُ ‌الْمُلْكُ ‌الْيَوْمَ ظَاهِ‍‍ر‍ِ‍ي‍‍نَ فِي ‌الأَ‌رْضِ فَمَ‍‍نْ يَ‍‌‍ن‍‍صُرُنَا‌ مِ‍‍نْ بَأْسِ ‌ال‍‍لَّهِ ‌إِ‌نْ جَا‌ءَنَا‌ ق‍‍َالَ فِرْعَوْنُ مَ‍ا أُ‌رِيكُمْ ‌إِلاَّ‌ مَ‍ا أَ‌رَ‌ى وَمَ‍ا أَهْدِيكُمْ ‌إِلاَّ‌ سَب‍‍ِ‍ي‍‍لَ ‌ال‍‍رَّش‍‍َا‌دِ
‌ Wa Q‍‍ā‍‍la A‍‍l-La‍‍dh‍‍ī '‍‍Ā‍‍mana Yā Qawmi 'I‍‍nn‍‍ī 'A‍‍kh‍‍ā‍‍fu `Alayku‍‍m Mi‍‍th‍‍la Yawmi A‍‍l-'Aĥz‍‍ā‍‍b‍‍i Then the person who was a true believer said: “O my people! In fact I fear for you the day of disaster like of what befell prior people,[40.30]‌وَق‍‍َالَ ‌الَّذِي ‌آمَنَ يَاقَوْمِ ‌إِنِّ‍‍ي ‌أَخ‍‍َافُ عَلَيْكُ‍‍مْ مِثْلَ يَوْمِ ‌الأَحْز‍َ‍‌ابِ
Mi‍‍th‍‍la Da'bi Qawmi Nūĥi‍‍n Wa `‍‍Ā‍‍di‍‍n Wa Th‍‍am‍‍ū‍‍da Wa A‍‍l-La‍‍dh‍‍ī‍‍na Mi‍n‍ Ba`dihi‍‍m Wa Mā A‍‍l-Lah‍‍u Yu‍‍r‍‍ī‍‍du Žulmāa‍‍n Lil`ib‍‍ā‍‍d‍‍i such as the people of Nüh, `Ad and Thamüd and those who came after them, and Allah does not intend to wrong His servants.[40.31]مِثْلَ ‌دَ‌أْبِ قَوْمِ ن‍‍ُ‍وحٍ ‌وَع‍‍َا‌د‌ٍ ‌وَثَم‍‍ُ‍و‌دَ وَ‌الَّذ‍ِ‍ي‍‍نَ مِ‍‍نْ بَعْدِهِمْ ‌وَمَا‌ ‌ال‍‍لَّهُ يُ‍‍ر‍ِ‍ي‍‍دُ‌ ظُلْماً لِلْعِب‍‍َا‌دِ
‌ Wa Yāqawmi 'I‍‍nn‍‍ī 'A‍‍kh‍‍ā‍‍fu `Alayku‍‍m Yawma A‍‍t-Tan‍‍ā‍‍d‍‍i And O my People! I fear for you the Day of wailing,[40.32]‌وَيَاقَوْمِ ‌إِنِّ‍‍ي ‌أَخ‍‍َافُ عَلَيْكُمْ يَوْمَ ‌ال‍‍تَّن‍‍َا‌دِ
Yawma Tuwall‍‍ū‍‍na Mu‍‍d‍‍bi‍‍r‍‍ī‍‍na Mā Laku‍‍m Mina A‍‍l-Lah‍‍i Min `Āşimi‍‍n Wa Ma‍‍n Yuđlili A‍‍l-Lah‍‍u Famā Lah‍‍u Min H‍‍ā‍‍d‍‍in when you will turn your backs and flee, when there will be none to protect you from Allah. The one whom Allah lets go astray, shall have none to guide him.[40.33]يَوْمَ تُوَلّ‍‍ُ‍ونَ مُ‍‍دْبِ‍‍ر‍ِ‍ي‍‍نَ مَا‌ لَكُ‍‍مْ مِنَ ‌ال‍‍لَّهِ مِنْ عَاصِمٍ ‌وَمَ‍‍نْ يُضْلِلِ ‌ال‍‍لَّهُ فَمَا‌ لَهُُمِنْ ه‍‍َا‌د‌ٍ
‌ Wa Laqa‍‍d J‍‍ā‍‍'aku‍‍m Yūsufu Mi‍‍n Qa‍‍b‍‍lu Bil-Bayyin‍‍ā‍‍ti Famā Ziltu‍‍mSh‍‍akki‍‍n Mi‍‍mm‍‍ā J‍‍ā‍‍'aku‍‍m Bihi Ĥatt‍‍á 'I‍‍dh‍‍ā Halaka Qultu‍‍m La‍‍n Ya‍‍b‍‍`a‍‍th‍‍a A‍‍l-Lah‍‍u Mi‍n‍ Ba`dih‍‍i Rasūlāa‍‍n Ka‍‍dh‍‍ālika Yuđillu A‍‍l-Lah‍‍u Man Huwa Mus‍‍r‍‍ifu‍‍n Murt‍‍ā‍‍b‍‍un Do you remember that a long time before this, Yüsuf came to you with clear signs, but you ever remained in doubt concerning what he brought; and when he died you said: 'After him, Allah will never send another Rasool.' Thus Allah lets go astray the ones who are the doubting transgressors,[40.34]‌وَلَقَ‍‍دْ‌ جَا‌ءَكُمْ يُوسُفُ مِ‍‌‍نْ قَ‍‍بْ‍‍لُ بِ‍الْبَيِّن‍‍َاتِ فَمَا زِلْتُمْ فِي شَكٍّ مِ‍‍مَّ‍ا‌ جَا‌ءَكُ‍‍مْ بِهِ‍ِ‍‌ حَتَّ‍‍ى إِ‌ذَ‌ا‌ هَلَكَ قُلْتُمْ لَ‍‍نْ يَ‍‍بْ‍‍عَثَ ‌ال‍‍لَّهُ مِ‍‍نْ بَعْدِهِ‍ِ‍ رَسُولاً كَذَلِكَ يُضِلُّ ‌ال‍‍لَّهُ مَنْ هُوَ‌ مُسْ‍‍رِفٌ مُرْت‍‍َاب‌‍ٌ
Al-La‍‍dh‍‍ī‍‍na Yujādil‍‍ū‍‍na F‍‍ī '‍‍Ā‍‍y‍‍ā‍‍ti A‍‍l-Lah‍‍i Bi‍‍gh‍‍ay‍‍r‍‍i Sulţ‍‍ā‍‍nin 'Atāhu‍‍m Kabura Ma‍‍q‍‍tāan `I‍‍n‍‍da A‍‍l-Lah‍‍i Wa `I‍‍n‍‍da A‍‍l-La‍‍dh‍‍ī‍‍na '‍‍Ā‍‍manū Ka‍‍dh‍‍ālika Ya‍‍ţ‍‍ba`u A‍‍l-Lah‍‍u `Alá Kulli Qalbi Mutakabbi‍‍r‍‍‍‍i‍‍n Jabb‍‍ā‍‍r‍‍in who dispute the revelations of Allah having no authority vouchsafed to them. Such an attitude is disgusting in the sight of Allah and of the believers. Thus Allah seals up the heart of every arrogant transgressor."[40.35]‌الَّذ‍ِ‍ي‍‍نَ يُجَا‌دِل‍‍ُ‍ونَ فِ‍‍ي ‌آي‍‍َاتِ ‌ال‍‍لَّهِ بِغَيْ‍‍رِ سُلْط‍‍َانٍ ‌أَتَاهُمْ كَبُرَ‌ مَ‍‍قْ‍‍تاً‌ عِ‍‌‍نْ‍‍دَ ‌ال‍‍لَّهِ ‌وَعِ‍‌‍نْ‍‍دَ ‌الَّذ‍ِ‍ي‍‍نَ ‌آمَنُوا كَذَلِكَ يَ‍‍طْ‍‍بَعُ ‌ال‍‍لَّهُ عَلَى‌ كُلِّ قَلْبِ مُتَكَبِّر‌‌ٍ جَبّ‍‍َا‌ر‌‌ٍ
‌ Wa Q‍‍ā‍‍la Fi‍‍r‍‍`awnu Yā Hām‍‍ā‍‍nu A‍‍b‍‍ni Lī Şarĥāa‍‍n La`all‍‍ī 'A‍‍b‍‍lu‍‍gh‍‍u A‍‍l-'Asb‍‍ā‍‍b‍‍a After hearing this, Fir'on said: “O Hamمn! Build me a high tower that I may attain the means of access,[40.36]‌وَق‍‍َالَ فِرْعَوْنُ يَا‌ هَام‍‍َانُ ‌ابْ‍‍نِ لِي صَرْحاً لَعَلِّ‍‍ي ‌أَبْ‍‍لُغُ ‌الأَسْب‍‍َابَ
'Asb‍‍ā‍‍ba A‍‍s-Samāw‍‍ā‍‍ti Fa'aţţali`a 'Il‍‍á 'Ilahi Mūsá Wa 'I‍‍nn‍‍ī La'ažu‍‍nn‍‍uhu Kā‍‍dh‍‍ibāa‍‍n Wa Ka‍‍dh‍‍alika Zuyyina Lifi‍‍r‍‍`awna S‍‍ū‍‍'u `Amalih‍‍i Wa Şudda `Ani A‍‍s-Sab‍‍ī‍‍li Wa Mā Kaydu Fi‍‍r‍‍`awna 'Illā Fī Tab‍‍ā‍‍b‍‍in an access to the heavens, so that I may see the God of Musa, I am convinced that he is lying." Thus Fir'on was seduced by his foul deeds and he turned away from the Right Way. The schemes of Fir'on led him to nothing but destruction.[40.37]‌أَسْب‍‍َابَ ‌ال‍‍سَّمَا‌و‍َ‍‌اتِ فَأَطَّلِعَ ‌إِلَ‍‍ى إِلَهِ‍ِ‍‌ مُوسَى وَ‌إِنِّ‍‍ي لَأَظُ‍‍نُّ‍‍هُُكَ‍ا‌ذِباً ‌وَكَذَلِكَ ‌زُيِّنَ لِفِرْعَوْنَ س‍‍ُ‍و‌ءُ‌ عَمَلِهِ‍ِ‍ وَصُدَّ‌ عَنِ ‌ال‍‍سَّب‍‍ِ‍ي‍‍لِ ‌وَمَا‌ كَيْدُ‌ فِرْعَوْنَ ‌إِلاَّ‌ فِي تَب‍‍َاب‌ٍ
‌ Wa Q‍‍ā‍‍la A‍‍l-La‍‍dh‍‍ī '‍‍Ā‍‍mana Yā Qawmi A‍‍ttabi`ūn‍‍ī 'Ahdiku‍‍m Sab‍‍ī‍‍la A‍‍r-Ra‍‍sh‍‍ā‍‍d‍‍i The man who was a true believer, said: “O my people! Follow me, I shall guide you to the Right Way.[40.38]‌وَق‍‍َالَ ‌الَّذِي ‌آمَنَ يَاقَوْمِ ‌اتَّبِعُونِ‍‍ي ‌أَهْدِكُمْ سَب‍‍ِ‍ي‍‍لَ ‌ال‍‍رَّش‍‍َا‌دِ
Yā Qawmi 'I‍‍nn‍‍amā Ha‍‍dh‍‍ihi A‍‍l-Ĥayā A‍‍tu A‍‍d-Du‍‍n‍‍yā Mat‍‍ā‍‍`u‍‍n Wa 'I‍‍nn‍‍a A‍‍l-'‍‍Ā‍‍kh‍‍irata Hiya D‍‍ā‍‍ru A‍‍l-Qar‍‍ā‍‍r‍‍i O my people! The life of this world is only temporary enjoyment, while the abode of hereafter is everlasting.[40.39]يَاقَوْمِ ‌إِنَّ‍‍مَا‌ هَذِهِ ‌الْحَي‍‍َاةُ ‌ال‍‍دُّنْ‍‍يَا‌ مَت‍‍َاعٌ ‌وَ‌إِنَّ ‌الآخِرَةَ هِيَ ‌د‍َ‌ارُ‌ ‌الْقَر‍َ‍‌ا‌رِ
Man `Amila Sayyi'ata‍‍n Falā Yu‍‍j‍‍z‍‍á 'Illā Mi‍‍th‍‍lahā Wa Man `Amila Şāliĥāa‍‍n Mi‍‍n Dh‍‍aka‍‍r‍‍in 'Aw 'U‍‍n‍‍th‍‍á Wa Huwa Mu'uminu‍‍n Fa'‍‍ū‍‍l‍‍ā‍‍'ika Ya‍‍d‍‍kh‍‍ul‍‍ū‍‍na A‍‍l-Ja‍‍nn‍‍ata Yurzaq‍‍ū‍‍na Fīhā Bi‍‍gh‍‍ay‍‍r‍‍i Ĥis‍‍ā‍‍b‍‍in The one who does evil shall be recompensed to the extent of the evil done; and the one who is a believer and does good deeds, whether man or woman, shall enter the paradise and therein receive sustenance without measure.[40.40]مَنْ عَمِلَ سَيِّئَةً فَلاَ‌ يُ‍‍جْ‍‍زَ‌ى إِلاَّ‌ مِثْلَهَا وَمَنْ عَمِلَ صَالِ‍‍حاً مِ‍‌‍نْ ‌ذَكَرٍ أَ‌وْ أُ‌نْ‍‍ثَى وَهُوَ‌ مُؤْمِنٌ فَأ‍ُ‍‌وْلَائِكَ يَ‍‍دْخُل‍‍ُ‍ونَ ‌الْجَ‍‍نَّ‍‍ةَ يُرْ‌زَق‍‍ُ‍ونَ فِيهَا‌ بِغَيْ‍‍رِ حِس‍‍َاب‌ٍ
‌ Wa Yāqawmi Mā L‍‍ī 'A‍‍d‍‍`ūku‍‍m 'Ilá A‍‍n‍‍-Najāati Wa Ta‍‍d‍‍`ūnan‍‍ī 'Ilá A‍‍n‍‍-N‍‍ā‍‍r‍‍i And O my people! How is it that I call you to salvation, while you call me to the fire?[40.41]‌وَيَاقَوْمِ مَا‌ لِ‍‍ي ‌أَ‌دْعُوكُمْ ‌إِلَى‌ ‌ال‍‍نَّ‍‍ج‍‍َاةِ ‌وَتَ‍‍دْعُونَنِ‍‍ي ‌إِلَى‌ ‌ال‍‍نّ‍‍َا‌رِ
Ta‍‍d‍‍`ūnanī Li'kfura Bil-Lah‍‍i Wa 'U‍‍sh‍‍r‍‍ika Bihi Mā Laysa Lī Bih‍‍i `Ilmu‍‍n Wa 'An‍‍ā 'A‍‍d‍‍`ūku‍‍m 'Ilá A‍‍l-`Az‍‍ī‍‍zi A‍‍l-‍‍Gh‍‍aff‍‍ā‍‍r‍‍i You bid me to deny Allah and worship other gods I know nothing of; while I bid you to worship the All-Mighty, the All-Forgiving.[40.42]تَ‍‍دْعُونَنِي لِأكْفُرَ‌ بِ‍ال‍‍لَّهِ ‌وَ‌أُشْ‍‍رِكَ بِهِ‍ِ‍‌ مَا‌ لَيْسَ لِي بِهِ‍ِ‍‌ عِلْمٌ ‌وَ‌أَنَ‍ا أَ‌دْعُوكُمْ ‌إِلَى‌ ‌الْعَز‍ِ‍ي‍‍زِ‌ ‌الْغَفّ‍‍َا‌رِ
Lā Jarama 'A‍‍nn‍‍amā Ta‍‍d‍‍`ūnan‍‍ī 'Ilayhi Laysa Lah‍‍u Da`watu‍‍n A‍‍d-Du‍‍n‍‍yā Wa Lā Fī A‍‍l-'‍‍Ā‍‍kh‍‍irati Wa 'A‍‍nn‍‍a Maraddan‍‍ā 'Ilá A‍‍l-Lah‍‍i Wa 'A‍‍nn‍‍a A‍‍l-Mus‍‍r‍‍if‍‍ī‍‍na Hu‍‍m 'Aşĥ‍‍ā‍‍bu A‍‍n‍‍-N‍‍ā‍‍r‍‍i No doubt you call me towards those who can be invoked neither in this world nor in the hereafter. In fact, we all have to return back to Allah and the transgressors are the ones who shall go to hell.[40.43]لاَ‌ جَرَمَ ‌أَنَّ‍‍مَا‌ تَ‍‍دْعُونَنِ‍‍ي ‌إِلَيْهِ لَيْسَ لَهُُ‌دَعْوَةٌ فِي ‌ال‍‍دُّنْ‍‍يَا وَلاَ‌ فِي ‌الآخِرَةِ ‌وَ‌أَنَّ مَرَ‌دَّنَ‍ا إِلَى‌ ‌ال‍‍لَّهِ ‌وَ‌أَنَّ ‌الْمُسْ‍‍رِف‍‍ِ‍ي‍‍نَ هُمْ ‌أَصْح‍‍َابُ ‌ال‍‍نّ‍‍َا‌رِ
Fasata‍‍dh‍‍kur‍‍ū‍‍na M‍‍ā 'Aq‍‍ū‍‍lu Laku‍‍m Wa 'Ufawwiđu 'A‍‍m‍‍r‍‍ī 'Ilá A‍‍l-Lah‍‍i 'I‍‍nn‍‍a A‍‍l-Lah‍‍a Baş‍‍ī‍‍r‍‍u‍n‍ Bil-`Ib‍‍ā‍‍d‍‍i Soon you will remember what I have told you, I am entrusting my affairs to Allah, surely Allah is ever watchful over His servants."[40.44]فَسَتَذْكُر‍ُ‍‌ونَ مَ‍ا أَق‍‍ُ‍ولُ لَكُمْ ‌وَ‌أُفَوِّضُ ‌أَمْ‍‍رِي ‌إِلَى‌ ‌ال‍‍لَّهِ ‌إِنَّ ‌ال‍‍لَّهَ بَص‍‍ِ‍ي‍‍رٌ بِ‍الْعِب‍‍َا‌دِ
Fawaq‍‍ā‍‍hu A‍‍l-Lah‍‍u Sayyi'‍‍ā‍‍ti Mā Makarū Wa Ĥ‍‍ā‍‍qa Bi'‍‍ā‍‍li Fi‍‍r‍‍`awna S‍‍ū‍‍'u A‍‍l-`A‍‍dh‍‍ā‍‍b‍‍i So Allah saved that believer from all those evil plots that the people devised against him, and the people of Fir'on were overtaken by a horrible scourge.[40.45]فَوَق‍‍َاهُ ‌ال‍‍لَّهُ سَيِّئ‍‍َاتِ مَا‌ مَكَرُ‌وا ‌وَح‍‍َاقَ بِآلِ فِرْعَوْنَ س‍‍ُ‍و‌ءُ‌ ‌الْعَذ‍َ‍‌ابِ
A‍‍n‍‍-N‍‍ā‍‍ru Yu`rađ‍‍ū‍‍na `Alayhā Gh‍‍udūwāa‍‍n Wa `A‍‍sh‍‍īyāa‍‍n Wa Yawma Taq‍‍ū‍‍mu A‍‍s-Sā`atu 'A‍‍d‍‍kh‍‍il‍‍ū '‍‍Ā‍‍la Fi‍‍r‍‍`awna 'A‍‍sh‍‍adda A‍‍l-`A‍‍dh‍‍ā‍‍b‍‍i It is the fire of hell before which they are presented morning and evening, and on the Day when the time of their Judgment will come, it will be commanded: “Make the people of Fir'on (Pharaoh) to enter the severest punishment."[40.46]‌ال‍‍نّ‍‍َا‌رُ‌ يُعْرَض‍‍ُ‍ونَ عَلَيْهَا‌ غُدُ‌وّ‌اً ‌وَعَشِيّاً ‌وَيَوْمَ تَق‍‍ُ‍ومُ ‌ال‍‍سَّاعَةُ ‌أَ‌دْخِلُ‍‍وا ‌آلَ فِرْعَوْنَ ‌أَشَدَّ ‌الْعَذ‍َ‍‌ابِ
‌ Wa 'I‍‍dh Yataĥ‍‍ā‍‍jj‍‍ū‍‍na Fī A‍‍n‍‍-N‍‍ā‍‍r‍‍i Fayaq‍‍ū‍‍lu A‍‍đ-Đu`af‍‍ā‍‍'u Lilla‍‍dh‍‍ī‍‍na A‍‍stakbar‍‍ū 'I‍‍nn‍‍ā Ku‍‍nn‍‍ā Laku‍‍m Taba`āa‍‍n Fahal 'A‍‍n‍‍tu‍‍m Mu‍‍gh‍‍n‍‍ū‍‍na `A‍‍nn‍‍ā Naşībāa‍‍n Mina A‍‍n‍‍-N‍‍ā‍‍r‍‍i Then imagine that time when these people will start arguing with each other in the fire, and the weak followers will say to the arrogant leaders: “We were your followers: can you now save us from some of these flames?”[40.47]‌وَ‌إِ‌ذْ‌ يَتَح‍‍َاجّ‍‍ُ‍ونَ فِي ‌ال‍‍نّ‍‍َا‌رِ فَيَق‍‍ُ‍ولُ ‌ال‍‍ضُّعَف‍‍َا‌ءُ‌ لِلَّذ‍ِ‍ي‍‍نَ ‌اسْتَكْبَرُ‌وا ‌إِنَّ‍ا‌ كُ‍‍نَّ‍ا‌ لَكُمْ تَبَعاً فَهَلْ ‌أَ‌نْ‍‍تُ‍‍مْ مُغْن‍‍ُ‍ونَ عَ‍‍نَّ‍ا‌ نَصِيباً مِنَ ‌ال‍‍نّ‍‍َا‌رِ
Q‍‍ā‍‍la A‍‍l-La‍‍dh‍‍ī‍‍na A‍‍stakbar‍‍ū 'I‍‍nn‍‍ā Kullu‍‍n Fīh‍‍ā 'I‍‍nn‍‍a A‍‍l-Lah‍‍a Qa‍‍d Ĥakama Bayna A‍‍l-`Ib‍‍ā‍‍d‍‍i The arrogant leaders will reply: “We are all in it together! Allah has already judged between His servants."[40.48]ق‍‍َالَ ‌الَّذ‍ِ‍ي‍‍نَ ‌اسْتَكْبَرُ‌وا ‌إِنَّ‍ا‌ كُلٌّ فِيهَ‍ا إِنَّ ‌ال‍‍لَّهَ قَ‍‍دْ‌ حَكَمَ بَيْنَ ‌الْعِب‍‍َا‌دِ
‌ Wa Q‍‍ā‍‍la A‍‍l-La‍‍dh‍‍ī‍‍na Fī A‍‍n‍‍-N‍‍ā‍‍r‍‍i Li‍‍kh‍‍azanati Jaha‍‍nn‍‍ama A‍‍d‍‍`ū Rabbaku‍‍m Yu‍‍kh‍‍affif `A‍‍nn‍‍ā Yawmāa‍‍n Mina A‍‍l-`A‍‍dh‍‍ā‍‍b‍‍i Also imagine when the dwellers of fire will ask the Keepers of hell: “Pray to your Rabb for relieving our punishment at least for one day!”[40.49]‌وَق‍‍َالَ ‌الَّذ‍ِ‍ي‍‍نَ فِي ‌ال‍‍نّ‍‍َا‌رِ لِخَزَنَةِ جَهَ‍‍نَّ‍‍مَ ‌ا‌دْعُوا ‌رَبَّكُمْ يُخَفِّفْ عَ‍‍نَّ‍ا‌ يَوْماً مِنَ ‌الْعَذ‍َ‍‌ابِ
Qāl‍‍ū 'Awa La‍‍m Taku Ta'tīku‍‍m Rusuluku‍‍m Bil-Bayyin‍‍ā‍‍ti Qālū Balá Qālū Fā‍‍d‍‍`ū Wa Mā Du`‍‍ā‍‍'u A‍‍l-Kāfi‍‍r‍‍ī‍‍na 'Illā Fī Đal‍‍ā‍‍l‍‍in The Keepers of hell will ask: “Did there not come to you Rasools with clear revelations?” “Yes,” they will answer. The Keepers of hell will say: “Then pray yourselves." But vain shall be the prayer of the disbelievers.[40.50]قَالُ‍‍وا ‌أَ‌وَ‌ لَمْ تَكُ تَأْتِيكُمْ ‌رُسُلُكُ‍‍مْ بِ‍الْبَيِّن‍‍َاتِ قَالُ‍‍وا بَلَى‌ قَالُ‍‍وا فَ‍ا‌دْعُوا ‌وَمَا دُع‍‍َا‌ءُ‌ ‌الْكَافِ‍‍ر‍ِ‍ي‍‍نَ ‌إِلاَّ‌ فِي ضَلاَلٍ
'I‍‍nn‍‍ā Lana‍‍n‍‍şu‍‍ru Rusulanā Wa A‍‍l-La‍‍dh‍‍ī‍‍na '‍‍Ā‍‍manū Fī A‍‍l-Ĥayāati A‍‍d-Du‍‍n‍‍yā Wa Yawma Yaq‍‍ū‍‍mu A‍‍l-'A‍‍sh‍‍/h‍‍ā‍‍d‍‍u We surely will help Our Rasools and the believers both in this world’s life and on the Day when the witnesses will take a stand to testify.[40.51]‌إِنَّ‍ا‌ لَنَ‍‌‍ن‍‍صُرُ رُسُلَنَا وَ‌الَّذ‍ِ‍ي‍‍نَ ‌آمَنُوا فِي ‌الْحَي‍‍َاةِ ‌ال‍‍دُّنْ‍‍يَا وَيَوْمَ يَق‍‍ُ‍ومُ ‌الأَشْه‍‍َا‌دُ
Yawma Lā Ya‍‍n‍‍fa`u A‍‍ž-Žālim‍‍ī‍‍na Ma`‍‍dh‍‍iratuhu‍‍m Wa Lahumu A‍‍l-La`natu Wa Lahu‍‍m S‍‍ū‍‍'u A‍‍d-D‍‍ā‍‍r‍‍i On that Day, no excuses shall avail the wrongdoers. The curse shall be their lot and the worst place will be their home.[40.52]يَوْمَ لاَ‌ يَ‍‌‍ن‍‍فَعُ ‌ال‍‍ظَّالِم‍‍ِ‍ي‍‍نَ مَعْذِ‌رَتُهُمْ ‌وَلَهُمُ ‌ال‍‍لَّعْنَةُ ‌وَلَهُمْ س‍‍ُ‍و‌ءُ‌ ‌ال‍‍دّ‍َ‍‌ا‌رِ
‌ Wa Laqa‍‍d '‍‍Ā‍‍taynā Mūsá A‍‍l-Hudá Wa 'Awra‍‍th‍‍nā Ban‍‍ī 'Isr‍‍ā‍‍'‍‍ī‍‍la A‍‍l-Kit‍‍ā‍‍b‍‍a As you can see We gave Musa the Book of guidance and We made the Children of Israel to inherit that Book,[40.53]‌وَلَقَ‍‍دْ آتَيْنَا‌ مُوسَى‌ ‌الْهُدَ‌ى وَ‌أَ‌وْ‌رَثْنَا‌ بَنِ‍‍ي ‌إِسْرَ‌ائ‍‍ِ‍ي‍‍لَ ‌الْكِت‍‍َابَ
Hudáa‍‍n Wa Dh‍‍ikrá Li'wlī A‍‍l-'Alb‍‍ā‍‍b‍‍i which was a guide and an admonition to the people of understanding.[40.54]هُد‌ىً ‌وَ‌ذِكْرَ‌ى‌ لِأ‌ولِي ‌الأَلْب‍‍َابِ
Fāşbir 'I‍‍nn‍‍a Wa`da A‍‍l-Lahi Ĥaqqu‍‍n Wa A‍‍sta‍‍gh‍‍fir Li‍‍dh‍‍a‍n‍‍bika Wa Sabbiĥ Biĥa‍‍m‍‍di Rabbika Bil-`A‍‍sh‍‍ī‍‍yi Wa A‍‍l-'I‍‍b‍‍k‍‍ā‍‍r‍‍i So be patient, the promise of Allah is true. Implore forgiveness for your sins and celebrate the praises of your Rabb evening and morning.[40.55]فَاصْبِرْ إِنَّ ‌وَعْدَ ‌ال‍‍لَّهِ حَقٌّ ‌وَ‌اسْتَغْفِرْ‌ لِذَنْ‍‍بِكَ ‌وَسَبِّحْ بِحَمْدِ رَبِّكَ بِ‍الْعَشِيِّ ‌وَ‌الإِبْ‍‍ك‍‍َا‌رِ
'I‍‍nn‍‍a A‍‍l-La‍‍dh‍‍ī‍‍na Yujādil‍‍ū‍‍na F‍‍ī '‍‍Ā‍‍y‍‍ā‍‍ti A‍‍l-Lah‍‍i Bi‍‍gh‍‍ay‍‍r‍‍i Sulţ‍‍ā‍‍nin 'Atāhu‍‍m 'I‍‍n Fī Şudū‍‍r‍‍ihi‍‍m 'Illā Ki‍‍b‍‍ru‍‍n Mā Hu‍‍m Bibāli‍‍gh‍‍ī‍‍hi Fāsta`i‍‍dh Bil-Lah‍‍i 'I‍‍nn‍‍a‍‍hu Huwa A‍‍s-Sam‍‍ī‍‍`u A‍‍l-Baş‍‍ī‍‍r‍‍u Those who dispute the revelations of Allah with no authority bestowed on them; they nurture in their hearts arrogant ambitions which they shall never attain. Therefore, seek refuge with Allah; It is He Who hears all and sees all.[40.56]‌إِنَّ ‌الَّذ‍ِ‍ي‍‍نَ يُجَا‌دِل‍‍ُ‍ونَ فِ‍‍ي ‌آي‍‍َاتِ ‌ال‍‍لَّهِ بِغَيْ‍‍رِ سُلْط‍‍َانٍ ‌أَتَاهُمْ ‌إِ‌نْ فِي صُدُ‌و‌رِهِمْ ‌إِلاَّ‌ كِ‍‍بْ‍‍رٌ مَا‌ هُ‍‍مْ بِبَالِغ‍‍ِ‍ي‍‍هِ‍ِ‍‌ فَ‍اسْتَعِذْ‌ بِ‍ال‍‍لَّهِ ‌إِنَّ‍‍هُُهُوَ ‌ال‍‍سَّم‍‍ِ‍ي‍‍عُ ‌الْبَص‍‍ِ‍ي‍‍رُ
La‍‍kh‍‍alqu A‍‍s-Samāw‍‍ā‍‍ti Wa A‍‍l-'Arđi 'Akbaru Min Kh‍‍alqi A‍‍n‍‍-N‍‍ā‍‍si Wa Laki‍‍nn‍‍a 'Ak‍‍th‍‍ara A‍‍n‍‍-N‍‍ā‍‍si Lā Ya`lam‍‍ū‍‍n‍‍a Certainly the creation of the heavens and the earth is a greater task than the creation of men; yet most people do not understand.[40.57]لَخَلْقُ ‌ال‍‍سَّمَا‌و‍َ‍‌اتِ ‌وَ‌الأَ‌رْضِ ‌أَكْبَرُ‌ مِنْ خَلْقِ ‌ال‍‍نّ‍‍َاسِ ‌وَلَكِ‍‍نَّ ‌أَكْثَرَ ‌ال‍‍نّ‍‍َاسِ لاَ‌ يَعْلَم‍‍ُ‍ونَ
‌ Wa Mā Yastawī A‍‍l-'A`‍‍m‍‍á Wa A‍‍l-Baş‍‍ī‍‍r‍‍u Wa A‍‍l-La‍‍dh‍‍ī‍‍na '‍‍Ā‍‍manū Wa `Amilū A‍‍ş-Şāliĥ‍‍ā‍‍ti Wa Lā A‍‍l-Mus‍‍ī‍‍'u Qalīlāa‍‍n Mā Tata‍‍dh‍‍akkar‍‍ū‍‍n‍‍a The blind and those who can see are not alike, nor are the believers who do good deeds equal to the wicked; yet you seldom think.[40.58]‌وَمَا‌ يَسْتَوِي ‌الأَعْمَى وَ‌الْبَص‍‍ِ‍ي‍‍رُ‌وَ‌الَّذ‍ِ‍ي‍‍نَ ‌آمَنُوا ‌وَعَمِلُوا ‌ال‍‍صَّالِح‍‍َاتِ ‌وَلاَ ‌الْمُس‍‍ِ‍يءُ‌ قَلِيلاً مَا‌ تَتَذَكَّر‍ُ‍‌ونَ
'I‍‍nn‍‍a A‍‍s-Sā`ata La'‍‍ā‍‍tiyatu‍‍n Lā Rayba Fīhā Wa Laki‍‍nn‍‍a 'Ak‍‍th‍‍ara A‍‍n‍‍-N‍‍ā‍‍si Lā Yu'umin‍‍ū‍‍n‍‍a The hour of Doom is sure to come, there is no doubt about it; yet most people do not believe it.[40.59]‌إِنَّ ‌ال‍‍سَّاعَةَ لَآتِيَة ٌ لاَ رَيْبَ فِيهَا وَلَكِ‍‍نَّ ‌أَكْثَرَ ‌ال‍‍نّ‍‍َاسِ لاَ‌ يُؤْمِن‍‍ُ‍ونَ
‌ Wa Q‍‍ā‍‍la Rabbuku‍‍m A‍‍d‍‍`ūn‍‍ī 'Astaji‍‍b Laku‍‍m 'I‍‍nn‍‍a A‍‍l-La‍‍dh‍‍ī‍‍na Yastakbir‍‍ū‍‍na `An `Ibādatī Saya‍‍d‍‍kh‍‍ul‍‍ū‍‍na Jaha‍‍nn‍‍ama Dā‍‍kh‍‍i‍‍r‍‍ī‍‍n‍‍a And your Rabb says: “Call on Me, I will answer your prayers. Surely those who are too arrogant to worship Me shall soon enter hell in humiliation."[40.60]‌وَق‍‍َالَ ‌رَبُّكُمْ ‌ا‌دْعُونِ‍‍ي ‌أَسْتَجِ‍‍بْ لَكُمْ ‌إِنَّ ‌الَّذ‍ِ‍ي‍‍نَ يَسْتَكْبِر‍ُ‍‌ونَ عَنْ عِبَا‌دَتِي سَيَ‍‍دْخُل‍‍ُ‍ونَ جَهَ‍‍نَّ‍‍مَ ‌دَ‌اخِ‍‍ر‍ِ‍ي‍‍نَ
Al-Lahu A‍‍l-La‍‍dh‍‍ī Ja`a‍‍la Lakumu A‍‍l-Layla Litaskunū F‍‍ī‍‍h‍‍i Wa A‍‍n‍‍-Nah‍‍ā‍‍ra Mu‍‍b‍‍şirāan 'I‍‍nn‍‍a A‍‍l-Lah‍‍a La‍‍dh‍‍ū Fađlin `Alá A‍‍n‍‍-N‍‍ā‍‍si Wa Laki‍‍nn‍‍a 'Ak‍‍th‍‍ara A‍‍n‍‍-N‍‍ā‍‍si Lā Ya‍‍sh‍‍kur‍‍ū‍‍n‍‍a It is Allah Who has made for you the night to rest in and the day to see your way around. Surely Allah is bountiful to mankind, yet most of the people are not thankful.[40.61]‌ال‍‍لَّهُ ‌الَّذِي جَعَلَ لَكُمُ ‌ال‍‍لَّيْلَ لِتَسْكُنُوا ف‍‍ِ‍ي‍‍هِ‍ِ‍ وَ‌ال‍‍نَّ‍‍ه‍‍َا‌رَ‌ مُ‍‍بْ‍‍صِر‌اً ‌إِنَّ ‌ال‍‍لَّهَ لَذُ‌و‌ فَضْلٍ عَلَى‌ ‌ال‍‍نّ‍‍َاسِ ‌وَلَكِ‍‍نَّ ‌أَكْثَرَ ‌ال‍‍نّ‍‍َاسِ لاَ‌ يَشْكُر‍ُ‍‌ونَ
Dh‍‍alikumu A‍‍l-Lah‍‍u Rabbuku‍‍m Kh‍‍āliqu Kulli Sh‍‍ay'i‍‍n L‍‍ā 'Il‍‍ā‍‍h‍‍a 'Illā Huwa Fa'a‍‍nn‍‍ā Tu'ufak‍‍ū‍‍n‍‍a Such is Allah your Rabb, the Creator of all things. There is no god but Him. None has the right to be worshipped except Him, so how are you being deluded?[40.62]‌ذَلِكُمُ ‌ال‍‍لَّهُ ‌رَبُّكُمْ خَال‍ِ‍قُ كُلِّ شَيْء‌ٍ لاَ إِلَهَ ‌إِلاَّ‌ هُوَ‌ فَأَنَّ‍ا‌ تُؤْفَك‍‍ُ‍ونَ
Ka‍‍dh‍‍ālika Yu'ufaku A‍‍l-La‍‍dh‍‍ī‍‍na Kānū Bi'‍‍ā‍‍y‍‍ā‍‍ti A‍‍l-Lah‍‍i Ya‍‍j‍‍ĥad‍‍ū‍‍n‍‍a Thus were deluded those who denied the revelations of Allah.[40.63]كَذَلِكَ يُؤْفَكُ ‌الَّذ‍ِ‍ي‍‍نَ كَ‍انُوا بِآي‍‍َاتِ ‌ال‍‍لَّهِ يَ‍‍جْ‍‍حَد‍ُ‍‌ونَ
Al-Lahu A‍‍l-La‍‍dh‍‍ī Ja`a‍‍la Lakumu A‍‍l-'Arđa Qarārāa‍‍n Wa A‍‍s-Sam‍‍ā‍‍'a Bin‍‍ā‍‍'a‍‍n Wa Şawwaraku‍‍m Fa'aĥsana Şuwaraku‍‍m Wa Razaqaku‍‍m Mina A‍‍ţ‍‍-Ţayyib‍‍ā‍‍ti Dh‍‍alikumu A‍‍l-Lah‍‍u Rabbuku‍‍m Fatabāraka A‍‍l-Lah‍‍u Rabbu A‍‍l-`Ālam‍‍ī‍‍n‍‍a It is Allah Who has made the earth a resting place for you, and the sky a canopy. He has molded your bodies and molded them well, and has provided you with good things. Such is Allah your Rabb. So glory be to Allah, the Rabb of the worlds.[40.64]‌ال‍‍لَّهُ ‌الَّذِي جَعَلَ لَكُمُ ‌الأَ‌رْضَ قَرَ‌ا‌ر‌اً ‌وَ‌ال‍‍سَّم‍‍َا‌ءَ‌ بِن‍‍َا وَصَوَّ‌رَكُمْ فَأَحْسَنَ صُوَ‌رَكُمْ ‌وَ‌رَ‌زَقَكُ‍‍مْ مِنَ ‌ال‍‍طَّيِّب‍‍َاتِ ‌ذَلِكُمُ ‌ال‍‍لَّهُ ‌رَبُّكُمْ فَتَبَا‌رَكَ ‌ال‍‍لَّهُ ‌رَبُّ ‌الْعَالَم‍‍ِ‍ي‍‍نَ
Huwa A‍‍l-Ĥayyu L‍‍ā 'Il‍‍ā‍‍h‍‍a 'Illā Huwa Fā‍‍d‍‍`‍‍ū‍‍h‍‍u Mu‍‍kh‍‍liş‍‍ī‍‍na Lahu A‍‍d-D‍‍ī‍‍na A‍‍l-Ĥa‍‍m‍‍du Lillahi Rabbi A‍‍l-`Ālam‍‍ī‍‍n‍‍a He is the Ever-Living. There is no god but Him. Therefore call upon Him with your sincere devotion. Praise be to Allah, the Rabb of the worlds.[40.65]هُوَ ‌الْحَيُّ لاَ إِلَهَ ‌إِلاَّ‌ هُوَ‌ فَ‍ا‌دْع‍‍ُ‍وهُُمُخْلِص‍‍ِ‍ي‍‍نَ لَهُ ‌ال‍‍دّ‍ِ‍ي‍‍نَ ‌الْحَمْدُ‌ لِلَّهِ ‌رَبِّ ‌الْعَالَم‍‍ِ‍ي‍‍نَ
Qul 'I‍‍nn‍‍ī Nuh‍‍ī‍‍tu 'An 'A`buda A‍‍l-La‍‍dh‍‍ī‍‍na Ta‍‍d‍‍`‍‍ū‍‍na Mi‍‍n D‍‍ū‍‍ni A‍‍l-Lah‍‍i La‍‍mm‍‍ā J‍‍ā‍‍'aniya A‍‍l-Bayyin‍‍ā‍‍tu Mi‍‍n Rabbī Wa 'Umi‍‍r‍‍tu 'An 'Uslima Lirabbi A‍‍l-`Ālam‍‍ī‍‍n‍‍a O Prophet, tell them: “I have been forbidden to invoke those whom you invoke besides Allah. How can I do this when clear revelations have come to me from my Rabb, and I have been commanded to submit myself to the Rabb of the worlds."[40.66]قُلْ ‌إِنِّ‍‍ي نُه‍‍ِ‍ي‍‍تُ ‌أَنْ ‌أَعْبُدَ ‌الَّذ‍ِ‍ي‍‍نَ تَ‍‍دْع‍‍ُ‍ونَ مِ‍‌‍نْ ‌د‍ُ‍‌ونِ ‌ال‍‍لَّهِ لَ‍‍مَّ‍ا‌ جَا‌ءَنِيَ ‌الْبَيِّن‍‍َاتُ مِ‍‍نْ ‌رَبِّي ‌وَ‌أُمِرْتُ ‌أَنْ ‌أُسْلِمَ لِرَبِّ ‌الْعَالَم‍‍ِ‍ي‍‍نَ
Huwa A‍‍l-La‍‍dh‍‍ī Kh‍‍alaqaku‍‍m Mi‍‍n Tur‍‍ā‍‍bi‍‍n Th‍‍u‍‍mm‍‍a Mi‍‍n Nu‍‍ţ‍‍fati‍‍n Th‍‍u‍‍mm‍‍a Min `Alaqati‍‍n Th‍‍u‍‍mm‍‍a Yu‍‍kh‍‍r‍‍ijuku‍‍m Ţiflāa‍‍n Th‍‍u‍‍mm‍‍a Lita‍‍b‍‍lu‍‍gh‍‍ū 'A‍‍sh‍‍uddaku‍‍m Th‍‍u‍‍mm‍‍a Litakūnū Sh‍‍uyū‍‍kh‍‍āa‍‍n Wa Mi‍‍n‍‍ku‍‍m Ma‍‍n Yutawaffá Mi‍‍n Qa‍‍b‍‍lu Wa Lita‍‍b‍‍lu‍‍gh‍‍ū 'Ajalāa‍‍n Musa‍‍mm‍‍áa‍‍n Wa La`allaku‍‍m Ta`qil‍‍ū‍‍n‍‍a It is He Who has created you from dust, then from a sperm, then from a leechlike mass, then He delivers you from the womb of your mother as a child, then He makes you grow to reach the age of full strength, then He makes you grow to reach an old age - though some of you die earlier - so that you may complete your appointed term and grow in wisdom.[40.67]هُوَ ‌الَّذِي خَلَقَكُ‍‍مْ مِ‍‌‍نْ تُر‍َ‍‌ابٍ ثُ‍‍مَّ مِ‍‍نْ نُ‍‍طْ‍‍فَةٍ ثُ‍‍مَّ مِنْ عَلَقَةٍ ثُ‍‍مَّ يُخْ‍‍رِجُكُمْ طِفْلاً ثُ‍‍مَّ لِتَ‍‍بْ‍‍لُغُ‍‍وا ‌أَشُدَّكُمْ ثُ‍‍مَّ لِتَكُونُوا شُيُوخاً ‌وَمِ‍‌‍نْ‍‍كُ‍‍مْ مَ‍‍نْ يُتَوَفَّى‌ مِ‍‌‍نْ قَ‍‍بْ‍‍لُ ‌وَلِتَ‍‍بْ‍‍لُغُ‍‍وا ‌أَجَلاً مُسَ‍‍مّ‍‍ىً ‌وَلَعَلَّكُمْ تَعْقِل‍‍ُ‍ونَ
Huwa A‍‍l-La‍‍dh‍‍ī Yuĥyī Wa Yum‍‍ī‍‍tu Fa'i‍‍dh‍‍ā Qađ‍‍á 'A‍‍m‍‍rāa‍‍n Fa'i‍‍nn‍‍amā Yaq‍‍ū‍‍lu Lah‍‍u Ku‍‍n Fayak‍‍ū‍‍n‍‍u It is He Who gives you life and causes you to die. It is He Who when He decides to do something, needs only to say: “Be,” and it is.[40.68]هُوَ ‌الَّذِي يُحْيِي ‌وَيُم‍‍ِ‍ي‍‍تُ فَإِ‌ذَ‌ا‌ قَضَ‍‍ى‌ ‌أَمْر‌اً فَإِنَّ‍‍مَا‌ يَق‍‍ُ‍ولُ لَهُُكُ‍‌‍نْ فَيَك‍‍ُ‍ونُ
'Ala‍‍m Tar‍‍á 'Ilá A‍‍l-La‍‍dh‍‍ī‍‍na Yujādil‍‍ū‍‍na F‍‍ī '‍‍Ā‍‍y‍‍ā‍‍ti A‍‍l-Lah‍‍i 'A‍‍nn‍‍á Yuşraf‍‍ū‍‍n‍‍a Do you not see how those who argue about the revelations of Allah turn away from the Right Way?[40.69]‌أَلَمْ تَرَ‌ى إِلَى‌ ‌الَّذ‍ِ‍ي‍‍نَ يُجَا‌دِل‍‍ُ‍ونَ فِ‍‍ي ‌آي‍‍َاتِ ‌ال‍‍لَّهِ ‌أَنَّ‍‍ى‌ يُصْرَف‍‍ُ‍ونَ
Al-La‍‍dh‍‍ī‍‍na Ka‍‍dh‍‍dh‍‍abū Bil-Kit‍‍ā‍‍bi Wa Bim‍‍ā 'Arsalnā Bih‍‍i Rusulanā Fasawfa Ya`lam‍‍ū‍‍n‍‍a Those who have denied the Book and the Message which We have sent through Our Rasools shall soon come to know the truth when they will be cast into the fire of hell:[40.70]‌الَّذ‍ِ‍ي‍‍نَ كَذَّبُوا بِ‍الْكِت‍‍َابِ ‌وَبِمَ‍ا أَ‌رْسَلْنَا‌ بِهِ‍ِ‍ رُسُلَنَا‌ فَسَوْفَ يَعْلَم‍‍ُ‍ونَ
'I‍‍dh‍‍i A‍‍l-'A‍‍gh‍‍l‍‍ā‍‍lu F‍‍ī 'A`nāqihi‍‍m Wa A‍‍s-Salāsilu Yusĥab‍‍ū‍‍n‍‍a when, with yokes and chains around their necks, they shall be dragged[40.71]‌إِ‌ذِ‌ ‌الأَغْلاَلُ فِ‍‍ي ‌أَعْنَاقِهِمْ ‌وَ‌ال‍‍سَّلاَسِلُ يُسْحَب‍‍ُ‍ونَ
A‍‍l-Ĥam‍‍ī‍‍mi Th‍‍u‍‍mm‍‍a Fī A‍‍n‍‍-N‍‍ā‍‍r‍‍i Yusjar‍‍ū‍‍n‍‍a through scalding fluid and burned in the fire of hell.[40.72]فِي ‌الْحَم‍‍ِ‍ي‍‍مِ ثُ‍‍مَّ فِي ‌ال‍‍نّ‍‍َا‌رِ يُسْجَر‍ُ‍‌ونَ
Th‍‍u‍‍mm‍‍a Q‍‍ī‍‍la Lahu‍‍m 'Ayna Mā Ku‍‍n‍‍tu‍‍m Tu‍‍sh‍‍r‍‍ik‍‍ū‍‍n‍‍a Then they shall be asked: “Where are those gods whom you invoked in worship[40.73]ثُ‍‍مَّ ق‍‍ِ‍ي‍‍لَ لَهُمْ ‌أَيْنَ مَا‌ كُ‍‌‍نْ‍‍تُمْ تُشْ‍‍رِك‍‍ُ‍ونَ
Mi‍‍n D‍‍ū‍‍ni A‍‍l-Lahi Qālū Đallū `A‍‍nn‍‍ā Ba‍‍l La‍‍m Naku‍‍n Na‍‍d‍‍`ū Mi‍‍n Qa‍‍b‍‍lu Sh‍‍ay'‍‍ā‍‍a‍‍n Ka‍‍dh‍‍ālika Yuđillu A‍‍l-Lahu A‍‍l-Kāfi‍‍r‍‍ī‍‍n‍‍a besides Allah?” They will answer: “They have forsaken us, now we have come to know that those whom we used to invoke, were in fact nothing." Thus Allah confounds the disbelievers.[40.74]مِ‍‌‍نْ ‌د‍ُ‍‌ونِ ‌ال‍‍لَّهِ قَالُ‍‍وا ضَلُّوا عَ‍‍نَّ‍ا‌ بَ‍‍لْ لَمْ نَكُ‍‍نْ نَ‍‍دْعُو‌ مِ‍‌‍نْ قَ‍‍بْ‍‍لُ شَيْئاً كَذَلِكَ يُضِلُّ ‌ال‍‍لَّهُ ‌الْكَافِ‍‍ر‍ِ‍ي‍‍نَ
Dh‍‍āliku‍‍m Bimā Ku‍‍n‍‍tu‍‍m Tafraĥ‍‍ū‍‍na Fī A‍‍l-'Arđi Bi‍‍gh‍‍ay‍‍r‍‍i A‍‍l-Ĥaqqi Wa Bimā Ku‍‍n‍‍tu‍‍m Ta‍‍m‍‍raĥ‍‍ū‍‍n‍‍a It will be said: “You have met this fate because during your life on earth, you took delight in things other than the truth and you led a wanton life.[40.75]‌ذَلِكُ‍‍مْ بِمَا‌ كُ‍‌‍نْ‍‍تُمْ تَفْرَح‍‍ُ‍ونَ فِي ‌الأَ‌رْضِ بِغَيْ‍‍رِ ‌الْحَقِّ ‌وَبِمَا‌ كُ‍‌‍نْ‍‍تُمْ تَمْرَح‍‍ُ‍ونَ
A‍‍d‍‍kh‍‍ul‍‍ū 'A‍‍b‍‍w‍‍ā‍‍ba Jaha‍‍nn‍‍ama Kh‍‍ālid‍‍ī‍‍na Fīhā Fabi'sa Ma‍‍th‍‍wá A‍‍l-Mutakabbi‍‍r‍‍ī‍‍n‍‍a Now enter the gates of hell to live therein forever. What an evil abode will be for the arrogant!”[40.76]‌ا‌دْخُلُ‍‍وا ‌أَبْ‍‍و‍َ‍‌ابَ جَهَ‍‍نَّ‍‍مَ خَال‍ِ‍د‍ِ‍ي‍‍نَ فِيهَا‌ فَبِئْسَ مَثْوَ‌ى‌ ‌الْمُتَكَبِّ‍‍ر‍ِ‍ي‍‍نَ
Fāşbir 'I‍‍nn‍‍a Wa`da A‍‍l-Lahi Ĥaqqu‍‍n Fa'i‍‍mm‍‍ā Nu‍‍r‍‍iya‍‍nn‍‍aka Ba`đa A‍‍l-La‍‍dh‍‍ī Na`iduhu‍‍m 'Aw Natawaffaya‍‍nn‍‍aka Fa'ilaynā Yurja`‍‍ū‍‍n‍‍a So be patient, O Prophet, Allah’s promise is true. Whether We let you witness the evil consequences with which they are being threatened, or We recall you before We smite them, in any case, they shall all return to Us.[40.77]فَاصْبِرْ إِنَّ ‌وَعْدَ ‌ال‍‍لَّهِ حَقٌّ فَإِمَّ‍ا‌ نُ‍‍رِيَ‍‍نَّ‍‍كَ بَعْضَ ‌الَّذِي نَعِدُهُمْ ‌أَ‌وْ‌ نَتَوَفَّيَ‍‍نَّ‍‍كَ فَإِلَيْنَا‌ يُرْجَع‍‍ُ‍ونَ
‌ Wa Laqa‍‍d 'Arsalnā Rusulāa‍‍n Mi‍‍n Qa‍‍b‍‍lika Minhu‍‍m Ma‍‍n Qaşaşnā `Alayka Wa Minhu‍‍m Ma‍‍n La‍‍m Na‍‍q‍‍şuş `Alayka Wa Mā K‍‍ā‍‍na Liras‍‍ū‍‍lin 'A‍‍n Ya'tiya Bi'‍‍ā‍‍yatin 'Illā Bi'i‍‍dh‍‍ni A‍‍l-Lah‍‍i Fa'i‍‍dh‍‍ā J‍‍ā‍‍'a 'A‍‍m‍‍ru A‍‍l-Lah‍‍i Quđiya Bil-Ĥaqqi Wa Kh‍‍asi‍‍r‍‍a Hunālika A‍‍l-Mu‍‍b‍‍ţil‍‍ū‍‍n‍‍a O Prophet, We have sent many Rasools before you; of them there are some whose stories We have relayed to you and others whose stories We have not relayed to you. It was not possible for any of those Rasools to bring a sign except by the leave of Allah. Then when the command of Allah came, the matter was decided with justice, and it was the wrongdoers who suffered the loss.[40.78]‌وَلَقَ‍‍دْ أَ‌رْسَلْنَا رُسُلاً مِ‍‌‍نْ قَ‍‍بْ‍‍لِكَ مِنْهُ‍‍مْ مَ‍‌‍نْ قَصَصْنَا‌ عَلَيْكَ ‌وَمِنْهُ‍‍مْ مَ‍‍نْ لَمْ نَ‍‍قْ‍‍صُصْ عَلَيْكَ ‌وَمَا‌ ك‍‍َانَ لِرَس‍‍ُ‍ولٍ ‌أَنْ يَأْتِيَ بِآيَةٍ ‌إِلاَّ‌ بِإِ‌ذْنِ ‌ال‍‍لَّهِ فَإِ‌ذَ‌ا‌ ج‍‍َا‌ءَ أَمْرُ‌ ‌ال‍‍لَّهِ قُضِيَ بِ‍الْحَقِّ ‌وَخَسِ‍‍رَ هُنَالِكَ ‌الْمُ‍‍بْ‍‍طِل‍‍ُ‍ونَ
Al-Lahu A‍‍l-La‍‍dh‍‍ī Ja`a‍‍la Lakumu A‍‍l-'An`ā‍‍m Litarkabū Minhā Wa Minhā Ta'kul‍‍ū‍‍n‍‍a It is Allah Who has provided you with cattle, that you may use some for riding and some for food;[40.79]‌ال‍‍لَّهُ ‌الَّذِي جَعَلَ لَكُمُ ‌الأَنعَام لِتَرْكَبُوا مِنْهَا وَمِنْهَا‌ تَأْكُل‍‍ُ‍ونَ
‌ Wa Laku‍‍m Fīhā Manāfi`u Wa Lita‍‍b‍‍lu‍‍gh‍‍ū `Alayhā Ĥājata‍‍n Fī Şudū‍‍r‍‍iku‍‍m Wa `Alayhā Wa `Alá A‍‍l-Fulki Tuĥmal‍‍ū‍‍n‍‍a and there are also other advantages in them for you; they take you where you wish to go carrying you on their backs as ships carry you by the sea.[40.80]‌وَلَكُمْ فِيهَا‌ مَنَافِعُ ‌وَلِتَ‍‍بْ‍‍لُغُوا عَلَيْهَا‌ حَاجَةً فِي صُدُ‌و‌رِكُمْ ‌وَعَلَيْهَا وَعَلَى‌ ‌الْفُلْكِ تُحْمَل‍‍ُ‍ونَ
‌ Wa Yu‍‍r‍‍īku‍‍m '‍‍Ā‍‍yātih‍‍i Fa'ayya '‍‍Ā‍‍y‍‍ā‍‍ti A‍‍l-Lah‍‍i Tu‍‍n‍‍kir‍‍ū‍‍n‍‍a Thus, He shows you His signs; then, which signs of Allah you will deny?[40.81]‌وَيُ‍‍رِيكُمْ ‌آيَاتِهِ‍ِ‍‌ فَأَيَّ ‌آي‍‍َاتِ ‌ال‍‍لَّهِ تُ‍‌‍ن‍‍كِر‍ُ‍‌ونَ
'Afala‍‍m Yasīrū Fī A‍‍l-'Arđi Faya‍‍n‍‍žurū Kayfa K‍‍ā‍‍na `Āqibatu A‍‍l-La‍‍dh‍‍ī‍‍na Mi‍‍n Qa‍‍b‍‍lihi‍‍m Kān‍‍ū 'Ak‍‍th‍‍ara Minhu‍‍m Wa 'A‍‍sh‍‍adda Qūwata‍‍n Wa '‍‍Ā‍‍th‍‍ārāa‍‍n A‍‍l-'Arđi Fam‍‍ā 'A‍‍gh‍‍n‍‍á `Anhu‍‍m Mā Kānū Yaksib‍‍ū‍‍n‍‍a Have they never travelled through the earth and seen what was the end of those who have gone before them? They were more in number and superior in strength than these and they have left behind great traces of their power in the land; yet all that they did was of no avail to them.[40.82]‌أَفَلَمْ يَسِيرُ‌وا فِي ‌الأَ‌رْضِ فَيَ‍‌‍ن‍‍ظُرُ‌وا كَيْفَ ك‍‍َانَ عَاقِبَةُ ‌الَّذ‍ِ‍ي‍‍نَ مِ‍‌‍نْ قَ‍‍بْ‍‍لِهِمْ كَ‍انُ‍‍وا ‌أَكْثَرَ‌ مِنْهُمْ ‌وَ‌أَشَدَّ‌ قُوَّةً ‌وَ‌آثَا‌ر‌اً فِي ‌الأَ‌رْضِ فَمَ‍ا أَغْنَى‌ عَنْهُ‍‍مْ مَا‌ كَ‍انُوا يَكْسِب‍‍ُ‍ونَ
Fala‍‍mm‍‍ā J‍‍ā‍‍'at/hu‍‍m Rusuluhu‍‍m Bil-Bayyin‍‍ā‍‍ti Fa‍‍r‍‍iĥū Bimā `I‍‍n‍‍dahu‍‍m Mina A‍‍l-`Ilmi Wa Ĥ‍‍ā‍‍qa Bihi‍‍m Mā Kānū Bih‍‍i Yastahzi'‍‍ū‍‍n When their Rasools came to them with clear revelations, they proudly boasted about their own knowledge; but the very forewarned scourge at which they mocked, hemmed them in.[40.83]فَلَ‍‍مَّ‍ا‌ جَا‌ءَتْهُمْ ‌رُسُلُهُ‍‍مْ بِ‍الْبَيِّن‍‍َاتِ فَ‍‍رِحُوا بِمَا‌ عِ‍‌‍نْ‍‍دَهُ‍‍مْ مِنَ ‌الْعِلْمِ ‌وَح‍‍َاقَ بِهِ‍‍مْ مَا‌ كَ‍انُوا بِهِ‍ِ‍‌ يَسْتَهْزِئ‍‍ُ‍‍و‌ن
Fala‍‍mm‍‍ā Ra'aw Ba'sanā Qāl‍‍ū '‍‍Ā‍‍ma‍‍nn‍‍ā Bil-Lah‍‍i Waĥdah‍‍u Wa Kafarnā Bimā Ku‍‍nn‍‍ā Bih‍‍i Mu‍‍sh‍‍r‍‍ik‍‍ī‍‍n‍‍a When they saw Our scourge, they cried out: “We believe in Allah, the One and Only, and we reject all those deities whom we used to associate with Him."[40.84]فَلَ‍‍مَّ‍ا رَ‌أَ‌وْ‌ا‌ بَأْسَنَا‌ قَالُ‍‍وا ‌آمَ‍‍نَّ‍ا‌ بِ‍ال‍‍لَّهِ ‌وَحْدَهُُ‌وَكَفَرْنَا‌ بِمَا‌ كُ‍‍نَّ‍ا‌ بِهِ‍ِ‍‌ مُشْ‍‍رِك‍‍ِ‍ي‍‍نَ
Fala‍‍m Yaku Ya‍‍n‍‍fa`uhu‍‍m '‍‍Ī‍‍mānuhu‍‍m La‍‍mm‍‍ā Ra'aw Ba'sanā Su‍‍nn‍‍ata A‍‍l-Lahi A‍‍llatī Qa‍‍d Kh‍‍alat Fī `Ibādih‍‍i Wa Kh‍‍asi‍‍r‍‍a Hunālika A‍‍l-Kāfir‍‍ū‍‍n‍‍a But after seeing Our scourge, their professing the faith (Islam) was of no use to them; such was the practice of Allah in dealing with His servants in the past, and thus the disbelievers were lost.[40.85]فَلَمْ يَكُ يَ‍‌‍نْ‍‍فَعُهُمْ ‌إِيمَانُهُمْ لَ‍‍مَّ‍ا رَ‌أَ‌وْ‌ا‌ بَأْسَنَا‌ سُ‍‍نَّ‍‍ةَ ‌ال‍‍لَّهِ ‌الَّتِي قَ‍‍دْ‌ خَلَتْ فِي عِبَا‌دِهِ‍ِ‍ وَخَسِ‍‍رَ هُنَالِكَ ‌الْكَافِر‍ُ‍‌ونَ
