Wa A ş-Şā ffā ti Şaffāan       I swear by those who range themselves in ranks[37.1]   وَالصَّا فَّا تِ صَفّاً   
   Fālzzājirā ti Zaj rāan       and by those who cast out demons,[37.2]   فَالزَّاجِرَا تِ زَجْ راً   
   Fālttāliyā ti Dh ikrāan       and by those who proclaim the message of Allah[37.3]   فَالتَّالِيَا تِ ذِكْراً   
   'Inn a 'Ilahakum  Lawāĥid un       that surely your God is One,[37.4]   إِنّ َ إِلَهَكُمْ لَوَاحِد ٌ    
   Rabbu A s-Samāwā ti Wa A l-'Arđi Wa Mā Baynahumā Wa Rabbu A l-Mash ār iq i       the Rabb of the heavens and of the earth and all that lies between them, and the Rabb of the easts (every point and place at the rising of the sun).[37.5]   رَبُّ ا ل سَّمَاوَا تِ وَالأَرْضِ وَمَا بَيْنَهُمَا وَرَبُّ ا لْمَشَار ِق ِ   
   'Inn ā Zayyann ā A s-Samā 'a A d-Dun yā Bizīnatin A l-Kawākib       We have indeed decked the worldly heaven with beautiful stars[37.6]   إِنَّ ا زَيَّنَّ ا ا ل سَّمَا ءَ ا ل دُّنْ يَا بِزِينَةٍ  ا لْكَوَاكِب    
    Wa Ĥifžāan  Min  Kulli Sh ayţā nin  Mār id in       and have secured it against all obstinate rebellious shaitمns.[37.7]   وَحِفْظاً  مِن ْ كُلِّ شَيْطَا نٍ  مَار ِد ٍ    
   Lā Yassamm a`ū na 'Ilá A l-Mala'i A l-'A`lá Wa Yuq dh afū na Min  Kulli Jānib in       They cannot even hear the words of the exalted assembly of angels and they are darted at from every side if they try to get closer,[37.8]   لاَ يَسَّمَّ عُو نَ إِلَى ا لْمَلَإِ ا لأَعْلَى وَيُقْ ذَفُو نَ مِن ْ كُلِّ جَانِب ٍ    
   Duĥūrāan  Wa Lahum  `Adh ā bun  Wa A b un       they are repulsed and are under a constant chastisement.[37.9]   دُحُوراً  وَلَهُمْ عَذَا بٌ  وَاصِب ٌ    
   'Illā Man Kh aţifa A l-Kh aţ fata Fa'atba`ahu  Sh ihā bun  Th āqibāun       Eavesdroppers are persuaded by a flaming fire of piercing brightness.[37.10]   إِلاَّ مَنْ خَطِفَ ا لْخَطْ فَةَ فَأَتْبَعَهُُشِهَا بٌ ثَاقِباٌ    
   Fāstaftihim  'Ahum  'Ash addu Kh alqāan 'Am  Man Kh alaq nā  'Inn ā Kh alaq nāhum  Min  Ţī nin  Lāzib in       Ask them: “What is more difficult - their creation or the rest of Our creation? - Them We have created out of a sticky clay.[37.11]   فَاسْتَفْتِهِمْ أَهُمْ أَشَدُّ خَلْقاً أَم ْ مَنْ خَلَقْ نَا  إِنَّ ا خَلَقْ نَاهُم ْ مِن ْ طِي نٍ  لاَزِب ٍ    
   Bal `Ajib ta Wa Yaskh arū na       You marvel at the wonders of Allah’s creation, while they ridicule at it.[37.12]   بَلْ عَجِبْ تَ وَيَسْخَرُو نَ   
    Wa 'Idh ā Dh ukkirū Lā Yadh kurū na       When they are admonished, they pay no heed,[37.13]   وَإِذَا ذُكِّرُوا  لاَ يَذْكُرُو نَ   
    Wa 'Idh ā Ra'aw 'Ā yatan  Yastaskh irū na       and when they see a sign, they mock at it[37.14]   وَإِذَا رَأَوْا  آيَةً  يَسْتَسْخِرُو نَ   
    Wa Qālū  'In Hādh ā  'Illā Siĥrun  Mubī nun       and say: “This is nothing but plain sorcery.[37.15]   وَقَالُو ا  إِنْ هَذَا  إِلاَّ سِحْرٌ  مُبِي نٌ   
   'A'idh ā Mitnā Wa Kunn ā Turābāan  Wa `Ižāmāan 'A'inn ā Lamab `ūth ū na       What! When we are dead and have become dust and bones, shall we be raised to life again[37.16]   أَئِذَا مِتْنَا وَكُنَّ ا تُرَاباً  وَعِظَاماً أَئِنَّ ا لَمَبْ عُوثُو نَ   
   'Awa'ā bā 'uunā A l-'Awwalū na       - we and also our forefathers of the ancient time?”[37.17]   أَوَآبَاؤُنَا ا لأَوَّلُو نَ   
   Qul Na`am  Wa 'An tum  Dākh irū na       Tell them: “Yes and you shall be held up to shame.”[37.18]   قُلْ نَعَمْ وَأَنْ تُمْ دَاخِرُو نَ   
   Fa'inn amā Hiya Zaj ratun  Wāĥidatun  Fa'idh ā Hum  Yan žurū na       It will be just a single cry, and they will see it all with their own eyes.[37.19]   فَإِنَّ مَا هِيَ زَجْ رَةٌ  وَاحِدَةٌ فَإِذَا هُمْ يَن ظُرُو نَ   
    Wa Qālū Yā Waylanā Hādh ā Yawmu A d-Dī ni       “Ah, woe to us!” They shall exclaim, “this is the Day of Judgement!”[37.20]   وَقَالُوا  يَاوَيْلَنَا هَذَا يَوْمُ ا ل دِّي نِ   
   Hādh ā Yawmu A l-Faşli A l-Ladh ī Kun tum  Bihi  Tukadh dh ibū na       It will be said: “Yes, this is the same Day of Judgement which you used to deny.”[37.21]   هَذَا يَوْمُ ا لْفَصْلِ ا لَّذِي كُن تُم ْ بِهِِ تُكَذِّبُو نَ   
   A ĥsh urū A l-Ladh ī na Žalamū Wa 'Azwājahum  Wa Mā Kānū Ya`budū na      It will be commanded: “Gather all the wrongdoers, their spouses and those whom they used to worship[37.22]   ا حْشُرُوا  ا لَّذِي نَ ظَلَمُوا  وَأَزْوَاجَهُمْ وَمَا كَا نُوا  يَعْبُدُو نَ  
   Min  Dū ni A l-Lahi Fāhdūhum  'Ilá Şirā ţi A l-Jaĥī mi       besides Allah and show them the way to hell.[37.23]   مِن ْ دُو نِ ا ل لَّهِ فَا هْدُوهُمْ إِلَى صِرَا طِ ا لْجَحِي مِ   
    Wa Qifūhum  'Inn ahum  Mas'ū lū na       When they will all be gathered and angels will start pushing them towards hell, Allah shall say: “Stop for a while, they have to be questioned:[37.24]   وَقِفُوهُمْ إِنَّ هُم ْ مَسْئُ ولُو نَ   
   Mā Lakum  Lā Tanāşarū na       “What is the matter with you today that you do not help each other?”[37.25]   مَا لَكُمْ لاَ تَنَاصَرُو نَ   
   Bal Humu A l-Yawma Mustaslimū na       Nay! On that Day they shall all be submissive.[37.26]   بَلْ هُمُ ا لْيَوْمَ مُسْتَسْلِمُو نَ   
    Wa 'Aq bala Ba`đuhum  `Alá Ba`đin  Yatasā 'alū na       Some of them will step forward to question one another.[37.27]   وَأَقْ بَلَ بَعْضُهُمْ عَلَى بَعْضٍ  يَتَسَاءَلُو نَ   
   Qālū  'Inn akum  Kun tum  Ta'tūnanā `Ani A l-Yamī ni       The followers will say to their leaders: “It was you who used to come at us from the right hand (right hand is a symbol of authority) and forced us towards the wrong way.”[37.28]   قَالُو ا  إِنَّ كُمْ كُن تُمْ تَأْتُونَنَا عَنِ ا لْيَمِي نِ   
   Qālū Bal  Lam  Takūnū Mu'uminī na       They will reply: “Nay! But it was you who had no faith.[37.29]   قَالُوا  بَل ْ لَمْ تَكُونُوا  مُؤْمِنِي نَ   
    Wa Mā Kā na Lanā `Alaykum  Min  Sulţā nin   Bal Kun tum  Qawmāan  Ţāgh ī na       We had no power over you, the fact is that you were an inordinate people;[37.30]   وَمَا كَا نَ لَنَا عَلَيْكُم ْ مِن ْ سُلْطَا نٍ  بَلْ كُن تُمْ قَوْماً طَاغِي نَ   
   Faĥaqqa `Alaynā Qawlu Rabbinā  'Inn ā Ladh ā 'iqū na       true is the verdict which Our Rabb has passed upon us, we shall indeed taste the punishment of our sins:[37.31]   فَحَقَّ عَلَيْنَا قَوْلُ رَبِّنَا  إِنَّ ا لَذَائِقُو نَ   
   Fa'agh waynākum  'Inn ā Kunn ā Gh āwī na       We misled you, for we ourselves were astray.”[37.32]   فَأَغْوَيْنَاكُمْ إِنَّ ا كُنَّ ا غَاوِي نَ   
   Fa'inn ahum  Yawma'idh in  Fī A l-`Adh ā bi Mush tar ikū na       So on that Day they shall all be partners in the punishment.[37.33]   فَإِنَّ هُمْ يَوْمَئِذٍ  فِي ا لْعَذَا بِ مُشْتَر ِكُو نَ   
   'Inn ā Kadh ālika Naf`alu Bil-Muj r imī na       Thus, shall We deal with the criminals;[37.34]   إِنَّ ا كَذَلِكَ نَفْعَلُ بِا لْمُجْ ر ِمِي نَ   
   'Inn ahum  Kānū  'Idh ā Qī la  Lahum  Lā  'Ilā ha  'Illā A l-Lahu  Yastakbirū na       for when they were told: “There is no god except Allah,” they used to puff themselves up with pride[37.35]   إِنَّ هُمْ كَا نُو ا  إِذَا قِي لَ لَهُمْ لاَ إِلَهَ إِلاَّ ا ل لَّهُ يَسْتَكْبِرُو نَ   
    Wa Yaqūlū na 'A'inn ā Latār ikū  'Ā lihatinā Lish ā`ir  in  Maj nū nin       and say: “What! Should we give up our gods for the sake of a mad poet?”[37.36]   وَيَقُولُو نَ أَئِنَّ ا لَتَار ِكُو ا  آلِهَتِنَا لِشَاعِرٍ  مَجْ نُو نٍ    
   Bal Jā 'a Bil-Ĥaqqi Wa Şaddaqa A l-Mursalī na       Whereas he had come with the truth and had confirmed the message of prior Rasools.[37.37]   بَلْ جَا ءَ بِا لْحَقِّ وَصَدَّقَ ا لْمُرْسَلِي نَ   
   'Inn akum  Ladh ā 'iqū A l-`Adh ā bi A l-'Alī mi       Then it will be said: “You are surely going to taste the painful punishment:[37.38]   إِنَّ كُمْ لَذَائِقُو ا لْعَذَا بِ ا لأَلِي مِ   
    Wa Mā Tuj zawna 'Illā Mā Kun tum  Ta`malū na       and this reward is nothing except to what you had done.[37.39]   وَمَا تُجْ زَوْنَ إِلاَّ مَا كُن تُمْ تَعْمَلُو نَ   
   'Illā `Ibā da A l-Lahi A l-Mukh laşī na       But the sincere devotees of Allah[37.40]   إِلاَّ عِبَا دَ ا ل لَّهِ ا لْمُخْلَصِي نَ   
   'Ū lā 'ika Lahum  R izqun  Ma`lū mun       shall have familiar sustenance[37.41]   أُ وْلَائِكَ لَهُمْ ر ِزْقٌ  مَعْلُو مٌ   
   Fawākihu  Wa Hum  Mukramū na       - fruits, and shall be honored[37.42]   فَوَاكِهُُوَهُم ْ مُكْرَمُو نَ   
   Fī Jann ā ti A n -Na`ī mi       in the gardens of delight.[37.43]   فِي جَنّ َا تِ ا ل نَّ عِي مِ   
   `Alá Surur in  Mutaqābilī na       Reclining face to face upon soft couches,[37.44]   عَلَى سُرُرٍ  مُتَقَابِلِي نَ   
   Yuţā fu `Alayhim  Bika'sin  Min  Ma`ī nin       they shall be served with goblets filled at a fountain of wine,[37.45]   يُطَا فُ عَلَيْهِم ْ بِكَأْسٍ  مِن ْ مَعِي نٍ    
   Bayđā 'a Ladh dh atin  Lilsh sh ār ibī na       a crystal-white drink, delicious to those who drink it.[37.46]   بَيْضَا ءَ لَذَّةٍ  لِلشَّار ِبِي نَ   
   Lā Fīhā Gh awlun  Wa Lā Hum  `Anhā Yun zafū na       It will neither dull their senses nor they will become drunk.[37.47]   لاَ فِيهَا غَوْلٌ  وَلاَ هُمْ عَنْهَا يُن زَفُو نَ   
    Wa `In dahum  Qāşirā tu A ţ -Ţarfi `Ī nun       And beside them there will be bashful, dark big beautiful-eyed virgins,[37.48]   وَعِنْ دَهُمْ قَاصِرَا تُ ا ل طَّرْفِ عِي نٌ   
   Ka'ann ahunn a Bayđun  Maknū nun       as if they were delicate eggs closely guarded.[37.49]   كَأَنَّ هُنّ َ بَيْضٌ  مَكْنُو نٌ   
   Fa'aq bala Ba`đuhum  `Alá Ba`đin  Yatasā 'alū na       Some of them will be asking questions to others.[37.50]   فَأَقْ بَلَ بَعْضُهُمْ عَلَى بَعْضٍ  يَتَسَاءَلُو نَ   
   Qā la Qā 'ilun  Minhum  'Inn ī Kā na Lī Qar ī nun       One of them will say: “I had a friend[37.51]   قَا لَ قَائِلٌ  مِنْهُمْ إِنِّ ي كَا نَ لِي قَر ِي نٌ   
   Yaqū lu 'A'inn aka Lamina A l-Muşaddiqī na       who used to ask: ‘Are you really of those who affirm (the message of Islam)?[37.52]   يَقُو لُ أَئِنَّ كَ لَمِنَ ا لْمُصَدِّقِي نَ   
   'A'idh ā Mitnā Wa Kunn ā Turābāan  Wa `Ižāmāan 'A'inn ā Lamadīnū na       When we are dead and turned to dust and bones, shall we ever be brought to judgement?’”[37.53]   أَئِذَا مِتْنَا وَكُنَّ ا تُرَاباً  وَعِظَاماً أَئِنَّ ا لَمَدِينُو نَ   
   Qā la Hal 'An tum  Muţţali`ū na       It will be said: “Would you like to see him?”[37.54]   قَا لَ هَلْ أَنْ تُم ْ مُطَّلِعُو نَ   
   Fā ţţala`a Fara'ā hu Fī Sawā 'i A l-Jaĥī mi       He will look down and see his friend in the midst of hellfire.[37.55]   فَا طَّلَعَ فَرَآهُ فِي سَوَا ءِ ا لْجَحِي مِ   
   Qā la Ta-Allā hi 'In  Kid ta Laturdī ni       Then he will say: “By Allah! You had almost ruined me.[37.56]   قَا لَ تَال لَّهِ إِن ْ كِد ْتَ لَتُرْدِي نِ   
    Wa Lawlā Ni`matu Rabbī Lakun tu Mina A l-Muĥđar ī na       Had it not been for the grace of my Rabb, I should certainly have been among those who are brought there.[37.57]   وَلَوْلاَ نِعْمَةُ رَبِّي لَكُن تُ مِنَ ا لْمُحْضَر ِي نَ   
   'Afamā Naĥnu Bimayyitī na       Is it not so that we shall not die[37.58]   أَفَمَا نَحْنُ بِمَيِّتِي نَ   
   'Illā Mawtatanā A l-'Ū lá Wa Mā Naĥnu Bimu`adh dh abī na       after our first death and that we shall not be chastised?”[37.59]   إِلاَّ مَوْتَتَنَا ا لأُ ولَى وَمَا نَحْنُ بِمُعَذَّبِي نَ   
   'Inn a Hādh ā Lahuwa A l-Fawzu A l-`Ažī mu       Most surely it is a mighty achievement.[37.60]   إِنّ َ هَذَا لَهُوَ ا لْفَوْزُ ا لْعَظِي مُ   
   Limith li Hādh ā Falya`mali A l-`Āmilū na       For such an end, let every one strive who wishes to strive.[37.61]   لِمِثْلِ هَذَا فَلْيَعْمَلِ ا لْعَامِلُو نَ   
   'Adh alika Kh ayrun  Nuzulāan 'Am  Sh ajaratu A z-Zaqqū mi       Is this a better entertainment or the tree of Zaqqum?[37.62]   أَذَلِكَ خَيْرٌ  نُزُلاً أَمْ شَجَرَةُ ا ل زَّقُّو مِ   
   'Inn ā Ja`alnāhā Fitnatan  Lilžžālimī na       Surely We have made this tree a trial for the wrongdoers.[37.63]   إِنَّ ا جَعَلْنَاهَا فِتْنَة ً  لِلظَّالِمِي نَ   
   'Inn ahā Sh ajaratun  Takh ruju Fī  'Aşli A l-Jaĥī mi       Surely it is a tree that grows in the bottom of the hellfire,[37.64]   إِنَّ هَا شَجَرَةٌ تَخْرُجُ فِي  أَصْلِ ا لْجَحِي مِ   
   Ţal`uhā Ka'ann ahu  Ru'ū su A sh -Sh ayāţī ni       bearing fruits as if they were heads of shaitمns,[37.65]   طَلْعُهَا كَأَنَّ هُُرُءُو سُ ا ل شَّيَاطِي نِ   
   Fa'inn ahum  La'ā kilū na Minhā Famāli'ū na Minhā A l-Buţū na       on it they shall feed and with it they shall fill their bellies.[37.66]   فَإِنَّ هُمْ لَآكِلُو نَ مِنْهَا فَمَالِئُو نَ مِنْهَا ا لْبُطُو نَ   
   Th umm a 'Inn a Lahum  `Alayhā Lash awbāan  Min Ĥamī min      Then on top of that, they will be given a concoction made from boiling water.[37.67]   ثُمّ َ إِنّ َ لَهُمْ عَلَيْهَا لَشَوْباً  مِنْ حَمِي مٍ    
   Th umm a 'Inn a Marji`ahum  La'ilá A l-Jaĥī mi      Then to hellfire they shall be returned.[37.68]   ثُمّ َ إِنّ َ مَرْجِعَهُمْ لَإِلَى ا لْجَحِي مِ   
   'Inn ahum  'Alfaw 'Ā bā 'ahum  Đā llī na       In fact, they found their fathers on the wrong path,[37.69]   إِنَّ هُمْ أَلْفَوْا  آبَاءَهُمْ ضَا لِّي نَ   
   Fahum  `Alá  'Ā th ār ihim  Yuhra`ū na       and they are eagerly following their footsteps.[37.70]   فَهُمْ عَلَى  آثَار ِهِمْ يُهْرَعُو نَ   
    Wa Laqad  Đalla Qab lahum  'Akth aru A l-'Awwalī na       Most of the ancients went astray before them,[37.71]   وَلَقَد ْ ضَلَّ قَبْ لَهُمْ أَكْثَرُ ا لأَوَّلِي نَ   
    Wa Laqad  'Arsalnā Fīhim  Mun dh ir ī na       though We had sent Warners to them.[37.72]   وَلَقَد ْ أَرْسَلْنَا فِيهِم ْ مُن ذِر ِي نَ   
   Fān žur Kayfa Kā na `Āqibatu A l-Mun dh ar ī na       See what was the end of those who had been forewarned: they all perished,[37.73]   فَان ظُرْ كَيْفَ كَا نَ عَاقِبَةُ ا لْمُن ذَر ِي نَ   
   'Illā `Ibā da A l-Lahi A l-Mukh laşī na       except the sincere devotees of Allah.[37.74]   إِلاَّ عِبَا دَ ا ل لَّهِ ا لْمُخْلَصِي نَ   
    Wa Laqad  Nādānā Nūĥun  Falani`ma A l-Mujībū na       Nüh prayed to Us; see how excellent was Our response to his prayer![37.75]   وَلَقَد ْ نَادَانَا نُو حٌ فَلَنِعْمَ ا لْمُجِيبُو نَ   
    Wa Najjaynā hu  Wa 'Ahlahu  Mina A l-Karbi A l-`Ažī mi       We delivered him and his people from the mighty distress,[37.76]   وَنَجَّيْنَا هُُوَأَهْلَهُُمِنَ ا لْكَرْبِ ا لْعَظِي مِ   
    Wa Ja`alnā Dh urr īyatahu  Humu A l-Bāqī na       and made his progeny to be the only survivors,[37.77]   وَجَعَلْنَا ذُرِّيَّتَهُُهُمُ ا لْبَاقِي نَ   
    Wa Taraknā `Alayhi Fī A l-'Ā kh ir ī na       and We left his good name among the later generations.[37.78]   وَتَرَكْنَا عَلَيْهِ فِي ا لآخِر ِي نَ   
   Salā mun `Alá Nūĥin  Fī A l-`Ālamī na       Salutation to Nüh among the people of the worlds.[37.79]   سَلاَمٌ عَلَى نُو حٍ  فِي ا لْعَالَمِي نَ   
   'Inn ā Kadh ālika Naj zī A l-Muĥsinī na       Thus do We reward the righteous.[37.80]   إِنَّ ا كَذَلِكَ نَجْ زِي ا لْمُحْسِنِي نَ   
   'Inn ahu  Min `Ibādinā A l-Mu'uminī na       Surely he was one of Our believing devotees.[37.81]   إِنَّ هُُمِنْ عِبَادِنَا ا لْمُؤْمِنِي نَ   
   Th umm a 'Agh raq nā A l-'Ā kh ar ī na      Then the rest We drowned in the great flood.[37.82]   ثُمّ َ أَغْرَقْ نَا ا لآخَر ِي نَ   
    Wa 'Inn a Min  Sh ī`atihi  La'ib rāhī ma       Surely Ibrمhïm belonged to the first group (who followed Nüh’s way),[37.83]   وَإِنّ َ مِن ْ شِيعَتِهِِ لَإِبْ رَاهِي مَ   
   'Idh  Jā 'a Rabbahu  Biqalbin  Salī min       when he came to his Rabb with a pure heart.[37.84]   إِذْ جَا ءَ رَبَّهُُبِقَلْبٍ  سَلِي مٍ    
   'Idh  Qā la Li'abī hi  Wa Qawmihi Mādh ā Ta`budū na       Behold, he said to his father and to his people: “What are these that you worship?[37.85]   إِذْ قَا لَ لِأَبِي هِِ وَقَوْمِهِِ مَاذَا تَعْبُدُو نَ   
   'A'ifkāan 'Ā lihatan  Dū na A l-Lahi  Tur īdū na       Would you serve false gods instead of Allah?[37.86]   أَئِفْكاً آلِهَةً دُو نَ ا ل لَّهِ تُر ِيدُو نَ   
   Famā Žann ukum  Birabbi A l-`Ālamī na       What is your idea about the Rabb of the worlds?”[37.87]   فَمَا ظَنُّ كُم ْ بِرَبِّ ا لْعَالَمِي نَ   
   Fanažara Nažratan  Fī A n -Nujū mi       Then he looked at the stars one time[37.88]   فَنَظَرَ نَظْرَةً فِي ا ل نُّ جُو مِ   
   Faqā la 'Inn ī Saqī mun       and said “I am feeling sick.”[37.89]   فَقَا لَ إِنِّ ي سَقِي مٌ   
   Fatawallaw `Anhu Mud bir ī na       So his people left him behind and went away to their national fair.[37.90]   فَتَوَلَّوْا عَنْهُ مُد ْبِر ِي نَ   
   Farāgh a 'Ilá  'Ā lihatihim  Faqā la 'Alā Ta'kulū na       He sneaked into the temple of their gods and addressed them: “Why don’t you eat from these offerings before you?[37.91]   فَرَا غَ إِلَى  آلِهَتِهِمْ فَقَا لَ أَلاَ تَأْكُلُو نَ   
   Mā Lakum  Lā Tan ţiqū na       What is the matter with you that you don’t even speak?”[37.92]   مَا لَكُمْ لاَ تَن طِقُو نَ   
   Farāgh a `Alayhim  Đarbāan   Bil-Yamī ni       Then he fell upon them, smiting them with his right hand.[37.93]   فَرَا غَ عَلَيْهِمْ ضَرْباً  بِا لْيَمِي نِ   
   Fa'aq balū  'Ilayhi Yaziffū na       The people came running to the scene.[37.94]   فَأَقْ بَلُو ا  إِلَيْهِ يَزِفُّو نَ   
   Qā la 'Ata`budū na Mā Tanĥitū na       “Would you worship that which you have carved with your own hands,” he said,[37.95]   قَا لَ أَتَعْبُدُو نَ مَا تَنْحِتُو نَ   
   Wa A ll ā hu Kh alaqakum  Wa Mā Ta`malū na       “when Allah is the One Who created you and that which you have made?”[37.96]   وَاللَّهُ خَلَقَكُمْ وَمَا تَعْمَلُو نَ   
   Qālū A b nū Lahu  Bun yānāan  Fa'alqū hu Fī A l-Jaĥī mi       They said to one another: “Prepare for him a furnace and throw him into the blazing flames.”[37.97]   قَالُوا  ا بْ نُوا  لَهُُبُنْ يَان اً فَأَلْقُو هُُفِي ا لْجَحِي مِ   
   Fa'arādū Bihi  Kaydāan  Faja`alnāhumu A l-'Asfalī na       Thus did they scheme against him: but We humiliated them in their scheme.[37.98]   فَأَرَادُوا  بِهِِ كَيْداً فَجَعَلْنَاهُمُ ا لأَسْفَلِي نَ   
    Wa Qā la 'Inn ī Dh āhibun 'Ilá Rabbī Sayahdī ni       Ibrمhïm said: “I am going to take refuge with my Rabb, He will surely guide me.[37.99]   وَقَا لَ إِنِّ ي ذَاهِبٌ إِلَى رَبِّي سَيَهْدِي نِ   
   Rabbi Hab  Lī Mina A ş-Şāliĥī na       O Rabb! Grant me a righteous son.”[37.100]   رَبِّ هَب ْ لِي مِنَ ا ل صَّالِحِي نَ   
   Fabash sh arnā hu  Bigh ulā min Ĥalī min       So We gave him the good news of a gentle son.[37.101]   فَبَشَّرْنَا هُُبِغُلاَمٍ حَلِي مٍ    
   Falamm ā Balagh a Ma`ahu A s-Sa`ya Qā la Yā Bunayya 'Inn ī  'Ará Fī A l-Manā mi 'Ann ī  'Adh baĥuka Fān žur Mādh ā Tará Qā la Yā  'Abati A ī  'In  Sh ā 'a A l-Lahu  Mina A ş-Şābir ī na       When he reached the age to work with him, Ibrمhïm said to him: “O my son! I have seen a vision that I should offer you as a sacrifice, now tell me what is your view." He replied: “O my father! Do as you are commanded: you will find me, if Allah so wills, of the patient."[37.102]   فَلَمَّ ا بَلَغَ مَعَهُ ا ل سَّعْيَ قَا لَ يَابُنَيَّ إِنِّ ي  أَرَى فِي ا لْمَنَا مِ أَنِّ ي  أَذْبَحُكَ فَا ن ظُرْ مَاذَا تَرَى قَا لَ يَا  أَبَتِ ا ي  إِن ْ شَا ءَ ا ل لَّهُ مِنَ ا ل صَّابِر ِي نَ   
   Falamm ā  'Aslamā Wa Tallahu  Liljabī ni       And when they both submitted to Allah and Ibrمhïm laid down his son prostrate upon his forehead for sacrifice;[37.103]   فَلَمَّ ا  أَسْلَمَا وَتَلَّهُُلِلْجَبِي نِ   
    Wa Nādaynā hu  'An  Yā  'Ib rāhī mu       We called out to him: “O Ibrمhïm stop![37.104]   وَنَادَيْنَا هُ~ ُ أَن ْ يَا  إِبْ رَاهِي مُ   
   Qad  Şaddaq ta A r-Ru'uyā  'Inn ā Kadh ālika Naj zī A l-Muĥsinī na       You have fulfilled your vision.” Thus do We reward the righteous.[37.105]   قَد  صَدَّقْ تَ ا ل رُّؤْيَا  إِنَّ ا كَذَلِكَ نَجْ زِي ا لْمُحْسِنِي نَ   
   'Inn a Hādh ā Lahuwa A l-Balā 'u A l-Mubī nu       That was indeed a manifest test.[37.106]   إِنّ َ هَذَا لَهُوَ ا لْبَلاَءُ ا لْمُبِي نُ   
    Wa Fadaynā hu  Bidh ib ĥin `Ažī min       We ransomed his son for a great sacrifice[37.107]   وَفَدَيْنَا هُُبِذِبْ حٍ عَظِي مٍ    
    Wa Taraknā `Alayhi Fī A l-'Ā kh ir ī na       and We left his good name among the later generations.[37.108]   وَتَرَكْنَا عَلَيْهِ فِي ا لآخِر ِي نَ   
   Salā mun `Alá  'Ib rāhī ma       Salutation to Ibrمhïm.[37.109]   سَلاَمٌ عَلَى  إِبْ رَاهِي مَ   
   Kadh ālika Naj zī A l-Muĥsinī na       Thus We reward the righteous.[37.110]   كَذَلِكَ نَجْ زِي ا لْمُحْسِنِي نَ   
   'Inn ahu  Min `Ibādinā A l-Mu'uminī na       Surely he was one of Our believing devotees.[37.111]   إِنَّ هُُمِنْ عِبَادِنَا ا لْمُؤْمِنِي نَ   
    Wa Bash sh arnā hu  Bi'isĥā qa Nabīyāan  Mina A ş-Şāliĥī na       We gave him the good news of Ishمq - a prophet - one of the righteous.[37.112]   وَبَشَّرْنَا هُُبِإِسْحَا قَ نَبِيّاً  مِنَ ا ل صَّالِحِي نَ   
    Wa Bāraknā `Alayhi Wa `Alá  'Isĥā qa Wa Min  Dh urr īyatihimā Muĥsinun  Wa Žālimun  Linafsihi  Mubī nun       We blessed him and Ishمq both. Among their progeny there are some who are righteous and some who are clearly doing wrong to their own souls.[37.113]   وَبَارَكْنَا عَلَيْهِ وَعَلَى  إِسْحَا قَ وَمِن ْ ذُرِّيَّتِهِمَا مُحْسِنٌ  وَظَالِم ٌ  لِنَفْسِهِِ مُبِي نٌ   
    Wa Laqad  Manann ā `Alá Mūsá Wa Hārū na       We bestowed Our favor on Musa and Haroon.[37.114]   وَلَقَد ْ مَنَنَّ ا عَلَى مُوسَى وَهَارُو نَ   
    Wa Najjaynāhumā Wa Qawmahumā Mina A l-Karbi A l-`Ažī mi       We delivered them with all their people from the mighty distress.[37.115]   وَنَجَّيْنَاهُمَا وَقَوْمَهُمَا مِنَ ا لْكَرْبِ ا لْعَظِي مِ   
    Wa Naşarnāhum  Fakānū Humu A l-Gh ālibī na       We helped them so they became victorious.[37.116]   وَنَصَرْنَاهُمْ فَكَانُوا  هُمُ ا لْغَالِبِي نَ   
    Wa 'Ā taynāhumā A l-Kitā ba A l-Mustabī na       We gave them the Glorious Book (Torah),[37.117]   وَآتَيْنَاهُمَا ا لْكِتَا بَ ا لْمُسْتَبِي نَ   
    Wa Hadaynāhumā A ş-Şirā ţa A l-Mustaqī ma       and guided them both to the Right Way.[37.118]   وَهَدَيْنَاهُمَا ا ل صِّرَا طَ ا لْمُسْتَقِي مَ   
    Wa Taraknā `Alayhimā Fī A l-'Ā kh ir ī na       We left their good names among the later generations.[37.119]   وَتَرَكْنَا عَلَيْهِمَا فِي ا لآخِر ِي نَ   
   Salā mun `Alá Mūsá Wa Hārū na       Salutation to Musa and Haroon.[37.120]   سَلاَمٌ عَلَى مُوسَى وَهَارُو نَ   
   'Inn ā Kadh ālika Naj zī A l-Muĥsinī na       Thus do We reward the righteous.[37.121]   إِنَّ ا كَذَلِكَ نَجْ زِي ا لْمُحْسِنِي نَ   
   'Inn ahumā Min `Ibādinā A l-Mu'uminī na       Surely they were two of Our believing devotees.[37.122]   إِنَّ هُمَا مِنْ عِبَادِنَا ا لْمُؤْمِنِي نَ   
    Wa 'Inn a 'Ilyā sa Lamina A l-Mursalī na       Ilyمs (Elias) was surely one of Our Rasools.[37.123]   وَإِنّ َ إِلْيَا سَ لَمِنَ ا لْمُرْسَلِي نَ   
   'Idh  Qā la Liqawmihi  'Alā Tattaqū na       "Behold," he said to his people: “Have you no fear of Allah?[37.124]   إِذْ قَا لَ لِقَوْمِهِ أَلاَ تَتَّقُو نَ   
   'Atad `ū na Ba`lāan  Wa Tadh arū na 'Aĥsana A l-Kh āliqī na       Would you invoke Bمl (their invented god) and forsake the best of the Creators[37.125]   أَتَد ْعُو نَ بَعْلاً  وَتَذَرُو نَ أَحْسَنَ ا لْخَالِقِي نَ   
   Al-Laha  Rabbakum  Wa Rabba 'Ā bā 'ikumu A l-'Awwalī na       - Allah - Who is your Rabb and the Rabb of your forefathers?”[37.126]   ا ل لَّهَ رَبَّكُمْ وَرَبَّ آبَائِكُمُ ا لأَوَّلِي نَ  
   Fakadh dh abū hu  Fa'inn ahum  Lamuĥđarū na       But they denied him, so they will certainly be called to account,[37.127]   فَكَذَّبُو هُُفَإِنَّ هُمْ لَمُحْضَرُو نَ   
   'Illā `Ibā da A l-Lahi A l-Mukh laşī na       with the exception of sincere devotees of Allah.[37.128]   إِلاَّ عِبَا دَ ا ل لَّهِ ا لْمُخْلَصِي نَ   
    Wa Taraknā `Alayhi Fī A l-'Ā kh ir ī na       We left his good name among the later generations.[37.129]   وَتَرَكْنَا عَلَيْهِ فِي ا لآخِر ِي نَ   
   Salā mun `Alá  'Il Yā -Sīn      Salutation to Ilyمs.[37.130]   سَلاَمٌ عَلَى  إِلْ يَا-سِين    
   'Inn ā Kadh ālika Naj zī A l-Muĥsinī na       Thus do We reward the righteous.[37.131]   إِنَّ ا كَذَلِكَ نَجْ زِي ا لْمُحْسِنِي نَ   
   'Inn ahu  Min `Ibādinā A l-Mu'uminī na       He was surely one of Our believing devotees.[37.132]   إِنَّ هُُمِنْ عِبَادِنَا ا لْمُؤْمِنِي نَ   
    Wa 'Inn a Lūţāan  Lamina A l-Mursalī na       Lüt was one of Our Rasools.[37.133]   وَإِنّ َ لُوطاً  لَمِنَ ا لْمُرْسَلِي نَ   
   'Idh  Najjaynā hu  Wa 'Ahlahu  'Aj ma`ī na       Behold, We delivered him and his whole family[37.134]   إِذْ نَجَّيْنَا هُُوَأَهْلَهُ~ ُ أَجْ مَعِي نَ   
   'Illā `Ajūzāan  Fī A l-Gh ābir ī na       except an old woman who was among those who remained behind,[37.135]   إِلاَّ عَجُوزاً فِي ا لْغَابِر ِي نَ   
   Th umm a Damm arnā A l-'Ā kh ar ī na      and We destroyed the others.[37.136]   ثُمّ َ دَمَّ رْنَا ا لآخَر ِي نَ   
    Wa 'Inn akum  Latamurrū na `Alayhim  Muşbiĥī na       Surely you pass by their ruins by day[37.137]   وَإِنَّ كُمْ لَتَمُرُّو نَ عَلَيْهِم ْ مُصْبِحِي نَ   
   Wa Bil-Layli 'Afalā Ta`qilū na       and by night. Will you not use your common sense?[37.138]   وَبِاللَّيْلِ أَفَلاَ تَعْقِلُو نَ   
    Wa 'Inn a Yūnis Lamina A l-Mursalī na       SECTION 5 Yünus (Jonah) was surely one of Our Rasools.[37.139]   وَإِنّ َ يُونِس لَمِنَ ا لْمُرْسَلِي نَ   
   'Idh  'Abaqa 'Ilá A l-Fulki A l-Mash ĥū ni       When he ran to the laden ship,[37.140]   إِذْ أَبَقَ إِلَى ا لْفُلْكِ ا لْمَشْحُو نِ   
   Fasāhama Fakā na Mina A l-Mud ĥađī na       took part in casting of lots, and was condemned.[37.141]   فَسَاهَمَ فَكَا نَ مِنَ ا لْمُد ْحَضِي نَ   
   Fāltaqamahu A l-Ĥū tu Wa Huwa Mulī mun       A whale swallowed him for he had become blameworthy.[37.142]   فَالْتَقَمَهُ ا لْحُو تُ وَهُوَ مُلِي مٌ   
   Falawlā  'Ann ahu Kā na Mina A l-Musabbiĥī na       Had he not repented and became of those who glorify Allah,[37.143]   فَلَوْلاَ أَنَّ هُُكَا نَ مِنَ ا لْمُسَبِّحِي نَ   
   Lalabith a Fī Baţ nihi  'Ilá Yawmi Yub `ath ū na       he would certainly have remained inside its belly till the Day of Resurrection.[37.144]   لَلَبِثَ فِي بَطْ نِهِ إِلَى يَوْمِ يُبْ عَثُو نَ   
   Fanabadh nā hu  Bil-`Arā 'i Wa Huwa Saqī mun       Then We cast him upon a desolate shore in a state of serious illness[37.145]   فَنَبَذْنَا هُُبِا لْعَرَا ءِ وَهُوَ سَقِي مٌ   
    Wa 'An  batnā `Alayhi Sh ajaratan  Min  Yaq ţī nin       and caused a gourd plant to grow over him.[37.146]   وَأَنْ بَتْنَا عَلَيْهِ شَجَرَةً  مِن ْ يَقْ طِي نٍ    
    Wa 'Arsalnā hu  'Ilá Miā 'ati 'Alfin 'Aw Yazīdū na       Then We sent him to a nation of one hundred thousand people or more.[37.147]   وَأَرْسَلْنَا هُ~ ُ إِلَى مِائَةِ أَلْفٍ أَوْ يَزِيدُو نَ   
   Fa'ā manū Famatta`nāhum  'Ilá Ĥī nin       They believed in him, so We permitted them to enjoy their life for a while.[37.148]   فَآمَنُوا  فَمَتَّعْنَاهُمْ إِلَى حِي نٍ    
   Fāstaftihim  'Alirabbika A l-Banā tu Wa Lahumu A l-Banū na       Story of the Prophet Yünus (Jonah) Just ask the unbelievers: Does it make any sense that their Rabb should have daughters while they choose to have sons?[37.149]   فَاسْتَفْتِهِمْ أَلِرَبِّكَ ا لْبَنَا تُ وَلَهُمُ ا لْبَنُو نَ   
   'Am  Kh alaq nā A l-Malā 'ikata 'Ināth āan  Wa Hum  Sh āhidū na       Or is it that We created the angels as females and they were present at their creation?[37.150]   أَمْ خَلَقْ نَا ا لْمَلاَئِكَةَ إِنَاثاً  وَهُمْ شَاهِدُو نَ   
   'Alā  'Inn ahum  Min 'Ifkihim  Layaqūlū na       Surely they invent a lie when they say: [37.151]   أَلاَ إِنَّ هُم ْ مِن ْ إِفْكِهِمْ لَيَقُولُو نَ   
   Walada A l-Lahu  Wa 'Inn ahum  Lakādh ibū na       “Allah has children. They are utter liars."[37.152]   وَلَدَ ا ل لَّهُ وَإِنَّ هُمْ لَكَاذِبُو نَ   
   'Ā şţafá A l-Banā ti `Alá A l-Banī na       Would He choose daughters rather than sons?[37.153]   أَ اصْطَفَى ا لْبَنَا تِ عَلَى ا لْبَنِي نَ   
   Mā Lakum  Kayfa Taĥkumū na       What is the matter with you? How do you judge?[37.154]   مَا لَكُمْ كَيْفَ تَحْكُمُو نَ   
   'Afalā Tadh akkarūn      Will you not take heed?[37.155]   أَفَلاَ تَذَكَّرُون    
   'Am  Lakum  Sulţā nun  Mubī nun       Or do you have any proof of what you are saying?[37.156]   أَمْ لَكُمْ سُلْطَا نٌ  مُبِي نٌ   
   Fa'tū Bikitābikum  'In  Kun tum  Şādiqī na       Show us your scriptures if you are truthful![37.157]   فَأْتُوا  بِكِتَابِكُمْ إِن ْ كُن تُمْ صَادِقِي نَ   
    Wa Ja`alū Baynahu  Wa Bayna A l-Jinn ati Nasabāan  Wa Laqad  `Alimati A l-Jinn atu 'Inn ahum  Lamuĥđarū na       They assert blood-relationship between Him and the jinns; and the jinns know quite well that they will be called to account.[37.158]   وَجَعَلُوا  بَيْنَهُُوَبَيْنَ ا لْجِنَّ ةِ نَسَباً  وَلَقَد ْ عَلِمَتِ ا لْجِنَّ ةُ إِنَّ هُمْ لَمُحْضَرُو نَ   
   Sub ĥā na A l-Lahi  `Amm ā Yaşifū na       Glory be to Allah! He is free from what they ascribe to Him[37.159]   سُبْ حَا نَ ا ل لَّهِ عَمَّ ا يَصِفُو نَ   
   'Illā `Ibā da A l-Lahi A l-Mukh laşī na       except His sincere devotees who do not attribute such things to Him.[37.160]   إِلاَّ عِبَا دَ ا ل لَّهِ ا لْمُخْلَصِي نَ   
   Fa'inn akum  Wa Mā Ta`budū na       Therefore neither you nor those whom you worship[37.161]   فَإِنَّ كُمْ وَمَا تَعْبُدُو نَ   
   Mā  'An tum  `Alayhi Bifātinī na       can deceive anyone about Allah[37.162]   مَا  أَنْ تُمْ عَلَيْهِ بِفَاتِنِي نَ   
   'Illā Man Huwa Şālī A l-Jaĥī mi       except him who is destined for hell.[37.163]   إِلاَّ مَنْ هُوَ صَالِ ي ا لْجَحِي مِ   
    Wa Mā Minn ā  'Illā Lahu  Maqā mun  Ma`lū mun       The angels in fact say: “We each have our appointed place.[37.164]   وَمَا مِنَّ ا  إِلاَّ لَهُُمَقَا مٌ  مَعْلُو مٌ   
    Wa 'Inn ā Lanaĥnu A ş-Şā ffū na       We range ourselves in ranks for His service[37.165]   وَإِنَّ ا لَنَحْنُ ا ل صَّا فُّو نَ   
    Wa 'Inn ā Lanaĥnu A l-Musabbiĥū na       and we are surely those who declare His glory."[37.166]    وَإِنَّ ا لَنَحْنُ ا لْمُسَبِّحُو نَ   
    Wa 'In  Kānū Layaqūlū na       Before this, the same disbelievers used to say:[37.167]    وَإِن ْ كَا نُوا  لَيَقُولُو نَ   
   Law 'Ann a `In danā Dh ikrāan  Mina A l-'Awwalī na       “If we had received a reminder which the earlier people had received,[37.168]    لَوْ أَنّ َ عِنْ دَنَا ذِكْراً  مِنَ ا لأَوَّلِي نَ   
   Lakunn ā `Ibā da A l-Lahi A l-Mukh laşī na       We certainly would have been sincere devotees of Allah."[37.169]   لَكُنَّ ا عِبَا دَ ا ل لَّهِ ا لْمُخْلَصِي نَ   
   Fakafarū Bihi  Fasawfa Ya`lamū na       But now that the Qur’an has come, they reject it: but soon they will find out the consequences of this attitude.[37.170]   فَكَفَرُوا  بِهِِ فَسَوْفَ يَعْلَمُو نَ   
    Wa Laqad  Sabaqat Kalimatunā Li`ibādinā A l-Mursalīn      We have already promised Our servants whom We sent as Rasools[37.171]   وَلَقَد ْ سَبَقَتْ كَلِمَتُنَا لِعِبَادِنَا ا لْمُرْسَلِين    
   'Inn ahum  Lahumu A l-Man şūrū na       that they would certainly be helped,[37.172]   إِنَّ هُمْ لَهُمُ ا لْمَن صُورُو نَ   
    Wa 'Inn a Jun danā Lahumu A l-Gh ālibū na       and that Our forces will surely be victorious.[37.173]   وَإِنّ َ جُن دَنَا لَهُمُ ا لْغَالِبُو نَ   
   Fatawalla `Anhum  Ĥattá Ĥī nin       So give no heed to them for a while;[37.174]   فَتَوَلَّ عَنْهُمْ حَتَّى حِي نٍ    
    Wa 'Ab şirhum  Fasawfa Yub şirū na       you will see their downfall as they shall see your victory.[37.175]   وَأَبْ صِرْهُمْ فَسَوْفَ يُبْ صِرُو نَ   
   'Afabi`adh ābinā Yasta`jilū na       Do they wish to hurry on Our punishment?[37.176]   أَفَبِعَذَابِنَا يَسْتَعْجِلُو نَ   
   Fa'idh ā Nazala Bisāĥatihim  Fasā 'a Şabā ĥu A l-Mun dh ar ī na       But dreadful will be that morning, when it will descend in the courtyards of those who have been forewarned.[37.177]   فَإِذَا نَزَلَ بِسَاحَتِهِمْ فَسَا ءَ صَبَا حُ ا لْمُن ذَر ِي نَ   
    Wa Tawalla `Anhum  Ĥattá Ĥī nin       So pay no heed to them for a while.[37.178]   وَتَوَلَّ عَنْهُمْ حَتَّى حِي نٍ    
    Wa 'Ab şir Fasawfa Yub şirū na       You will surely see their downfall as they shall see your victory.[37.179]   وَأَبْ صِرْ فَسَوْفَ يُبْ صِرُو نَ   
   Sub ĥā na Rabbika Rabbi A l-`Izzati `Amm ā Yaşifū na       Glory be to your Rabb, the Lord of Honor, He is free from what they ascribe to Him![37.180]   سُبْ حَا نَ رَبِّكَ رَبِّ ا لْعِزَّةِ عَمَّ ا يَصِفُو نَ   
    Wa Salā mun `Alá A l-Mursalī na       Peace be on the Rasools,[37.181]   وَسَلاَمٌ عَلَى ا لْمُرْسَلِي نَ   
   Wa A l-Ĥam du Lillahi Rabbi A l-`Ālamī na       and praise be to Allah, the Rabb of the Worlds.[37.182]   وَالْحَمْدُ لِلَّهِ رَبِّ ا لْعَالَمِي نَ
