Wa Aş-Şāffāti Şaffāan  | I swear by those who range themselves in ranks[37.1] | وَالصَّافَّاتِ صَفّا ً |
Fālzzājirāti Zajrāan  | and by those who cast out demons,[37.2] | فَالزَّاجِرَاتِ زَجْرا ً |
Fālttāliyāti Dhikrāan  | and by those who proclaim the message of Allah[37.3] | فَالتَّالِيَاتِ ذِكْرا ً |
'Inna 'Ilahakum Lawāĥidun  | that surely your God is One,[37.4] | إِنَّ إِلَهَكُمْ لَوَاحِد ٌ |
Rabbu As-Samāwāti Wa Al-'Arđi Wa Mā Baynahumā Wa Rabbu Al-Mashāriqi  | the Rabb of the heavens and of the earth and all that lies between them, and the Rabb of the easts (every point and place at the rising of the sun).[37.5] | رَبُّ السَّمَاوَاتِ وَالأَرْضِ وَمَا بَيْنَهُمَا وَرَبُّ الْمَشَارِقِ |
'Innā Zayyannā As-Samā'a Ad-Dunyā Bizīnatin Al-Kawākib  | We have indeed decked the worldly heaven with beautiful stars[37.6] | إِنَّا زَيَّنَّا السَّمَاءَ الدُّنْيَا بِزِينَة ٍ الْكَوَاكِب |
Wa Ĥifžāan Min Kulli Shayţānin Māridin  | and have secured it against all obstinate rebellious shaitمns.[37.7] | وَحِفْظا ً مِنْ كُلِّ شَيْطَان ٍ مَارِد ٍ |
Lā Yassamma`ūna 'Ilá Al-Mala'i Al-'A`lá Wa Yuqdhafūna Min Kulli Jānibin  | They cannot even hear the words of the exalted assembly of angels and they are darted at from every side if they try to get closer,[37.8] | لاَ يَسَّمَّعُونَ إِلَى الْمَلَإِ الأَعْلَى وَيُقْذَفُونَ مِنْ كُلِّ جَانِب ٍ |
Duĥūrāan Wa Lahum `Adhābun Wa Aşibun  | they are repulsed and are under a constant chastisement.[37.9] | دُحُورا ً وَلَهُمْ عَذَاب ٌ وَاصِب ٌ |
'Illā Man Khaţifa Al-Khaţfata Fa'atba`ahu Shihābun Thāqibāun  | Eavesdroppers are persuaded by a flaming fire of piercing brightness.[37.10] | إِلاَّ مَنْ خَطِفَ الْخَطْفَةَ فَأَتْبَعَه ُُ شِهَاب ٌ ثَاقِبا ٌ |
Fāstaftihim 'Ahum 'Ashaddu Khalqāan 'Am Man Khalaqnā 'Innā Khalaqnāhum Min Ţīnin Lāzibin  | Ask them: “What is more difficult - their creation or the rest of Our creation? - Them We have created out of a sticky clay.[37.11] | فَاسْتَفْتِهِمْ أَهُمْ أَشَدُّ خَلْقاً أَمْ مَنْ خَلَقْنَا إِنَّا خَلَقْنَاهُمْ مِنْ طِين ٍ لاَزِب ٍ |
Bal `Ajibta Wa Yaskharūna  | You marvel at the wonders of Allah’s creation, while they ridicule at it.[37.12] | بَلْ عَجِبْتَ وَيَسْخَرُونَ |
Wa 'Idhā Dhukkirū Lā Yadhkurūna  | When they are admonished, they pay no heed,[37.13] | وَإِذَا ذُكِّرُوا لاَ يَذْكُرُونَ |
Wa 'Idhā Ra'aw 'Āyatan Yastaskhirūna  | and when they see a sign, they mock at it[37.14] | وَإِذَا رَأَوْا آيَة ً يَسْتَسْخِرُونَ |
Wa Qālū 'In Hādhā 'Illā Siĥrun Mubīnun  | and say: “This is nothing but plain sorcery.[37.15] | وَقَالُوا إِنْ هَذَا إِلاَّ سِحْر ٌ مُبِين ٌ |
'A'idhā Mitnā Wa Kunnā Turābāan Wa `Ižāmāan 'A'innā Lamab`ūthūna  | What! When we are dead and have become dust and bones, shall we be raised to life again[37.16] | أَئِذَا مِتْنَا وَكُنَّا تُرَابا ً وَعِظَاماً أَئِنَّا لَمَبْعُوثُونَ |
'Awa'ābā'uunā Al-'Awwalūna  | - we and also our forefathers of the ancient time?”[37.17] | أَوَآبَاؤُنَا الأَوَّلُونَ |
Qul Na`am Wa 'Antum Dākhirūna  | Tell them: “Yes and you shall be held up to shame.”[37.18] | قُلْ نَعَمْ وَأَنْتُمْ دَاخِرُونَ |
Fa'innamā Hiya Zajratun Wāĥidatun Fa'idhā Hum Yanžurūna  | It will be just a single cry, and they will see it all with their own eyes.[37.19] | فَإِنَّمَا هِيَ زَجْرَة ٌ وَاحِدَة ٌ فَإِذَا هُمْ يَنظُرُونَ |
Wa Qālū Yā Waylanā Hādhā Yawmu Ad-Dīni  | “Ah, woe to us!” They shall exclaim, “this is the Day of Judgement!”[37.20] | وَقَالُوا يَاوَيْلَنَا هَذَا يَوْمُ الدِّينِ |
Hādhā Yawmu Al-Faşli Al-Ladhī Kuntum Bihi Tukadhdhibūna  | It will be said: “Yes, this is the same Day of Judgement which you used to deny.”[37.21] | هَذَا يَوْمُ الْفَصْلِ الَّذِي كُنتُمْ بِه ِِ تُكَذِّبُونَ |
Aĥshurū Al-Ladhīna Žalamū Wa 'Azwājahum Wa Mā Kānū Ya`budūna  | It will be commanded: “Gather all the wrongdoers, their spouses and those whom they used to worship[37.22] | احْشُرُوا الَّذِينَ ظَلَمُوا وَأَزْوَاجَهُمْ وَمَا كَانُوا يَعْبُدُونَ |
Min Dūni Al-Lahi Fāhdūhum 'Ilá Şirāţi Al-Jaĥīmi  | besides Allah and show them the way to hell.[37.23] | مِنْ دُونِ اللَّهِ فَاهْدُوهُمْ إِلَى صِرَاطِ الْجَحِيمِ |
Wa Qifūhum 'Innahum Mas'ūlūna  | When they will all be gathered and angels will start pushing them towards hell, Allah shall say: “Stop for a while, they have to be questioned:[37.24] | وَقِفُوهُمْ إِنَّهُمْ مَسْئُولُونَ |
Mā Lakum Lā Tanāşarūna  | “What is the matter with you today that you do not help each other?”[37.25] | مَا لَكُمْ لاَ تَنَاصَرُونَ |
Bal Humu Al-Yawma Mustaslimūna  | Nay! On that Day they shall all be submissive.[37.26] | بَلْ هُمُ الْيَوْمَ مُسْتَسْلِمُونَ |
Wa 'Aqbala Ba`đuhum `Alá Ba`đin Yatasā'alūna  | Some of them will step forward to question one another.[37.27] | وَأَقْبَلَ بَعْضُهُمْ عَلَى بَعْض ٍ يَتَسَاءَلُونَ |
Qālū 'Innakum Kuntum Ta'tūnanā `Ani Al-Yamīni  | The followers will say to their leaders: “It was you who used to come at us from the right hand (right hand is a symbol of authority) and forced us towards the wrong way.”[37.28] | قَالُوا إِنَّكُمْ كُنتُمْ تَأْتُونَنَا عَنِ الْيَمِينِ |
Qālū Bal Lam Takūnū Mu'uminīna  | They will reply: “Nay! But it was you who had no faith.[37.29] | قَالُوا بَلْ لَمْ تَكُونُوا مُؤْمِنِينَ |
Wa Mā Kāna Lanā `Alaykum Min Sulţānin Bal Kuntum Qawmāan Ţāghīna  | We had no power over you, the fact is that you were an inordinate people;[37.30] | وَمَا كَانَ لَنَا عَلَيْكُمْ مِنْ سُلْطَان ٍ بَلْ كُنتُمْ قَوْما ً طَاغِينَ |
Faĥaqqa `Alaynā Qawlu Rabbinā 'Innā Ladhā'iqūna  | true is the verdict which Our Rabb has passed upon us, we shall indeed taste the punishment of our sins:[37.31] | فَحَقَّ عَلَيْنَا قَوْلُ رَبِّنَا إِنَّا لَذَائِقُونَ |
Fa'aghwaynākum 'Innā Kunnā Ghāwīna  | We misled you, for we ourselves were astray.”[37.32] | فَأَغْوَيْنَاكُمْ إِنَّا كُنَّا غَاوِينَ |
Fa'innahum Yawma'idhin Fī Al-`Adhābi Mushtarikūna  | So on that Day they shall all be partners in the punishment.[37.33] | فَإِنَّهُمْ يَوْمَئِذ ٍ فِي الْعَذَابِ مُشْتَرِكُونَ |
'Innā Kadhālika Naf`alu Bil-Mujrimīna  | Thus, shall We deal with the criminals;[37.34] | إِنَّا كَذَلِكَ نَفْعَلُ بِالْمُجْرِمِينَ |
'Innahum Kānū 'Idhā Qīla Lahum Lā 'Ilāha 'Illā Al-Lahu Yastakbirūna  | for when they were told: “There is no god except Allah,” they used to puff themselves up with pride[37.35] | إِنَّهُمْ كَانُوا إِذَا قِيلَ لَهُمْ لاَ إِلَهَ~َ إِلاَّ اللَّهُ يَسْتَكْبِرُونَ |
Wa Yaqūlūna 'A'innā Latārikū 'Ālihatinā Lishā`irin Majnūnin  | and say: “What! Should we give up our gods for the sake of a mad poet?”[37.36] | وَيَقُولُونَ أَئِنَّا لَتَارِكُوا آلِهَتِنَا لِشَاعِر ٍ مَجْنُون ٍ |
Bal Jā'a Bil-Ĥaqqi Wa Şaddaqa Al-Mursalīna  | Whereas he had come with the truth and had confirmed the message of prior Rasools.[37.37] | بَلْ جَاءَ بِالْحَقِّ وَصَدَّقَ الْمُرْسَلِينَ |
'Innakum Ladhā'iqū Al-`Adhābi Al-'Alīmi  | Then it will be said: “You are surely going to taste the painful punishment:[37.38] | إِنَّكُمْ لَذَائِقُو الْعَذَابِ الأَلِيمِ |
Wa Mā Tujzawna 'Illā Mā Kuntum Ta`malūna  | and this reward is nothing except to what you had done.[37.39] | وَمَا تُجْزَوْنَ إِلاَّ مَا كُنتُمْ تَعْمَلُونَ |
'Illā `Ibāda Al-Lahi Al-Mukhlaşīna  | But the sincere devotees of Allah[37.40] | إِلاَّ عِبَادَ اللَّهِ الْمُخْلَصِينَ |
'Ūlā'ika Lahum Rizqun Ma`lūmun  | shall have familiar sustenance[37.41] | أُوْلَائِكَ لَهُمْ رِزْق ٌ مَعْلُوم ٌ |
Fawākihu Wa Hum Mukramūna  | - fruits, and shall be honored[37.42] | فَوَاكِه ُُ وَهُمْ مُكْرَمُونَ |
Fī Jannāti An-Na`īmi  | in the gardens of delight.[37.43] | فِي جَنَّاتِ النَّعِيمِ |
`Alá Sururin Mutaqābilīna  | Reclining face to face upon soft couches,[37.44] | عَلَى سُرُر ٍ مُتَقَابِلِينَ |
Yuţāfu `Alayhim Bika'sin Min Ma`īnin  | they shall be served with goblets filled at a fountain of wine,[37.45] | يُطَافُ عَلَيْهِمْ بِكَأْس ٍ مِنْ مَعِين ٍ |
Bayđā'a Ladhdhatin Lilshshāribīna  | a crystal-white drink, delicious to those who drink it.[37.46] | بَيْضَاءَ لَذَّة ٍ لِلشَّارِبِينَ |
Lā Fīhā Ghawlun Wa Lā Hum `Anhā Yunzafūna  | It will neither dull their senses nor they will become drunk.[37.47] | لاَ فِيهَا غَوْل ٌ وَلاَ هُمْ عَنْهَا يُنزَفُونَ |
Wa `Indahum Qāşirātu Aţ-Ţarfi `Īnun  | And beside them there will be bashful, dark big beautiful-eyed virgins,[37.48] | وَعِنْدَهُمْ قَاصِرَاتُ الطَّرْفِ عِين ٌ |
Ka'annahunna Bayđun Maknūnun  | as if they were delicate eggs closely guarded.[37.49] | كَأَنَّهُنَّ بَيْض ٌ مَكْنُون ٌ |
Fa'aqbala Ba`đuhum `Alá Ba`đin Yatasā'alūna  | Some of them will be asking questions to others.[37.50] | فَأَقْبَلَ بَعْضُهُمْ عَلَى بَعْض ٍ يَتَسَاءَلُونَ |
Qāla Qā'ilun Minhum 'Innī Kāna Lī Qarīnun  | One of them will say: “I had a friend[37.51] | قَالَ قَائِل ٌ مِنْهُمْ إِنِّي كَانَ لِي قَرِين ٌ |
Yaqūlu 'A'innaka Lamina Al-Muşaddiqīna  | who used to ask: ‘Are you really of those who affirm (the message of Islam)?[37.52] | يَقُولُ أَئِنَّكَ لَمِنَ الْمُصَدِّقِينَ |
'A'idhā Mitnā Wa Kunnā Turābāan Wa `Ižāmāan 'A'innā Lamadīnūna  | When we are dead and turned to dust and bones, shall we ever be brought to judgement?’”[37.53] | أَئِذَا مِتْنَا وَكُنَّا تُرَابا ً وَعِظَاماً أَئِنَّا لَمَدِينُونَ |
Qāla Hal 'Antum Muţţali`ūna  | It will be said: “Would you like to see him?”[37.54] | قَالَ هَلْ أَنْتُمْ مُطَّلِعُونَ |
Fāţţala`a Fara'āhu Fī Sawā'i Al-Jaĥīmi  | He will look down and see his friend in the midst of hellfire.[37.55] | فَاطَّلَعَ فَرَآهُ فِي سَوَاءِ الْجَحِيمِ |
Qāla Ta-Allāhi 'In Kidta Laturdīni  | Then he will say: “By Allah! You had almost ruined me.[37.56] | قَالَ تَاللَّهِ إِنْ كِدْتَ لَتُرْدِينِ |
Wa Lawlā Ni`matu Rabbī Lakuntu Mina Al-Muĥđarīna  | Had it not been for the grace of my Rabb, I should certainly have been among those who are brought there.[37.57] | وَلَوْلاَ نِعْمَةُ رَبِّي لَكُنتُ مِنَ الْمُحْضَرِينَ |
'Afamā Naĥnu Bimayyitīna  | Is it not so that we shall not die[37.58] | أَفَمَا نَحْنُ بِمَيِّتِينَ |
'Illā Mawtatanā Al-'Ūlá Wa Mā Naĥnu Bimu`adhdhabīna  | after our first death and that we shall not be chastised?”[37.59] | إِلاَّ مَوْتَتَنَا الأُولَى وَمَا نَحْنُ بِمُعَذَّبِينَ |
'Inna Hādhā Lahuwa Al-Fawzu Al-`Ažīmu  | Most surely it is a mighty achievement.[37.60] | إِنَّ هَذَا لَهُوَ الْفَوْزُ الْعَظِيمُ |
Limithli Hādhā Falya`mali Al-`Āmilūna  | For such an end, let every one strive who wishes to strive.[37.61] | لِمِثْلِ هَذَا فَلْيَعْمَلِ الْعَامِلُونَ |
'Adhalika Khayrun Nuzulāan 'Am Shajaratu Az-Zaqqūmi  | Is this a better entertainment or the tree of Zaqqum?[37.62] | أَذَلِكَ خَيْر ٌ نُزُلاً أَمْ شَجَرَةُ الزَّقُّومِ |
'Innā Ja`alnāhā Fitnatan Lilžžālimīna  | Surely We have made this tree a trial for the wrongdoers.[37.63] | إِنَّا جَعَلْنَاهَا فِتْنَة ً لِلظَّالِمِينَ |
'Innahā Shajaratun Takhruju Fī 'Aşli Al-Jaĥīmi  | Surely it is a tree that grows in the bottom of the hellfire,[37.64] | إِنَّهَا شَجَرَة ٌ تَخْرُجُ فِي أَصْلِ الْجَحِيمِ |
Ţal`uhā Ka'annahu Ru'ūsu Ash-Shayāţīni  | bearing fruits as if they were heads of shaitمns,[37.65] | طَلْعُهَا كَأَنَّه ُُ رُءُوسُ الشَّيَاطِينِ |
Fa'innahum La'ākilūna Minhā Famāli'ūna Minhā Al-Buţūna  | on it they shall feed and with it they shall fill their bellies.[37.66] | فَإِنَّهُمْ لَآكِلُونَ مِنْهَا فَمَالِئُونَ مِنْهَا الْبُطُونَ |
Thumma 'Inna Lahum `Alayhā Lashawbāan Min Ĥamīmin  | Then on top of that, they will be given a concoction made from boiling water.[37.67] | ثُمَّ إِنَّ لَهُمْ عَلَيْهَا لَشَوْبا ً مِنْ حَمِيم ٍ |
Thumma 'Inna Marji`ahum La'ilá Al-Jaĥīmi  | Then to hellfire they shall be returned.[37.68] | ثُمَّ إِنَّ مَرْجِعَهُمْ لَإِلَى الْجَحِيمِ |
'Innahum 'Alfaw 'Ābā'ahum Đāllīna  | In fact, they found their fathers on the wrong path,[37.69] | إِنَّهُمْ أَلْفَوْا آبَاءَهُمْ ضَالِّينَ |
Fahum `Alá 'Āthārihim Yuhra`ūna  | and they are eagerly following their footsteps.[37.70] | فَهُمْ عَلَى آثَارِهِمْ يُهْرَعُونَ |
Wa Laqad Đalla Qablahum 'Aktharu Al-'Awwalīna  | Most of the ancients went astray before them,[37.71] | وَلَقَدْ ضَلَّ قَبْلَهُمْ أَكْثَرُ الأَوَّلِينَ |
Wa Laqad 'Arsalnā Fīhim Mundhirīna  | though We had sent Warners to them.[37.72] | وَلَقَدْ أَرْسَلْنَا فِيهِمْ مُنذِرِينَ |
Fānžur Kayfa Kāna `Āqibatu Al-Mundharīna  | See what was the end of those who had been forewarned: they all perished,[37.73] | فَانظُرْ كَيْفَ كَانَ عَاقِبَةُ الْمُنذَرِينَ |
'Illā `Ibāda Al-Lahi Al-Mukhlaşīna  | except the sincere devotees of Allah.[37.74] | إِلاَّ عِبَادَ اللَّهِ الْمُخْلَصِينَ |
Wa Laqad Nādānā Nūĥun Falani`ma Al-Mujībūna  | Nüh prayed to Us; see how excellent was Our response to his prayer![37.75] | وَلَقَدْ نَادَانَا نُوح ٌ فَلَنِعْمَ الْمُجِيبُونَ |
Wa Najjaynāhu Wa 'Ahlahu Mina Al-Karbi Al-`Ažīmi  | We delivered him and his people from the mighty distress,[37.76] | وَنَجَّيْنَاه ُُ وَأَهْلَه ُُ مِنَ الْكَرْبِ الْعَظِيمِ |
Wa Ja`alnā Dhurrīyatahu Humu Al-Bāqīna  | and made his progeny to be the only survivors,[37.77] | وَجَعَلْنَا ذُرِّيَّتَه ُُ هُمُ الْبَاقِينَ |
Wa Taraknā `Alayhi Fī Al-'Ākhirīna  | and We left his good name among the later generations.[37.78] | وَتَرَكْنَا عَلَيْهِ فِي الآخِرِينَ |
Salāmun `Alá Nūĥin Fī Al-`Ālamīna  | Salutation to Nüh among the people of the worlds.[37.79] | سَلاَمٌ عَلَى نُوح ٍ فِي الْعَالَمِينَ |
'Innā Kadhālika Najzī Al-Muĥsinīna  | Thus do We reward the righteous.[37.80] | إِنَّا كَذَلِكَ نَجْزِي الْمُحْسِنِينَ |
'Innahu Min `Ibādinā Al-Mu'uminīna  | Surely he was one of Our believing devotees.[37.81] | إِنَّه ُُ مِنْ عِبَادِنَا الْمُؤْمِنِينَ |
Thumma 'Aghraqnā Al-'Ākharīna  | Then the rest We drowned in the great flood.[37.82] | ثُمَّ أَغْرَقْنَا الآخَرِينَ |
Wa 'Inna Min Shī`atihi La'ibrāhīma  | Surely Ibrمhïm belonged to the first group (who followed Nüh’s way),[37.83] | وَإِنَّ مِنْ شِيعَتِه ِِ لَإِبْرَاهِيمَ |
'Idh Jā'a Rabbahu Biqalbin Salīmin  | when he came to his Rabb with a pure heart.[37.84] | إِذْ جَاءَ رَبَّه ُُ بِقَلْب ٍ سَلِيم ٍ |
'Idh Qāla Li'abīhi Wa Qawmihi Mādhā Ta`budūna  | Behold, he said to his father and to his people: “What are these that you worship?[37.85] | إِذْ قَالَ لِأَبِيه ِِ وَقَوْمِه ِِ مَاذَا تَعْبُدُونَ |
'A'ifkāan 'Ālihatan Dūna Al-Lahi Turīdūna  | Would you serve false gods instead of Allah?[37.86] | أَئِفْكا ً آلِهَة ً دُونَ اللَّهِ تُرِيدُونَ |
Famā Žannukum Birabbi Al-`Ālamīna  | What is your idea about the Rabb of the worlds?”[37.87] | فَمَا ظَنُّكُمْ بِرَبِّ الْعَالَمِينَ |
Fanažara Nažratan Fī An-Nujūmi  | Then he looked at the stars one time[37.88] | فَنَظَرَ نَظْرَة ً فِي النُّجُومِ |
Faqāla 'Innī Saqīmun  | and said “I am feeling sick.”[37.89] | فَقَالَ إِنِّي سَقِيم ٌ |
Fatawallaw `Anhu Mudbirīna  | So his people left him behind and went away to their national fair.[37.90] | فَتَوَلَّوْا عَنْهُ مُدْبِرِينَ |
Farāgha 'Ilá 'Ālihatihim Faqāla 'Alā Ta'kulūna  | He sneaked into the temple of their gods and addressed them: “Why don’t you eat from these offerings before you?[37.91] | فَرَاغَ إِلَى آلِهَتِهِمْ فَقَالَ أَلاَ تَأْكُلُونَ |
Mā Lakum Lā Tanţiqūna  | What is the matter with you that you don’t even speak?”[37.92] | مَا لَكُمْ لاَ تَنطِقُونَ |
Farāgha `Alayhim Đarbāan Bil-Yamīni  | Then he fell upon them, smiting them with his right hand.[37.93] | فَرَاغَ عَلَيْهِمْ ضَرْبا ً بِالْيَمِينِ |
Fa'aqbalū 'Ilayhi Yaziffūna  | The people came running to the scene.[37.94] | فَأَقْبَلُوا إِلَيْهِ يَزِفُّونَ |
Qāla 'Ata`budūna Mā Tanĥitūna  | “Would you worship that which you have carved with your own hands,” he said,[37.95] | قَالَ أَتَعْبُدُونَ مَا تَنْحِتُونَ |
Wa Allāhu Khalaqakum Wa Mā Ta`malūna  | “when Allah is the One Who created you and that which you have made?”[37.96] | وَاللَّهُ خَلَقَكُمْ وَمَا تَعْمَلُونَ |
Qālū Abnū Lahu Bunyānāan Fa'alqūhu Fī Al-Jaĥīmi  | They said to one another: “Prepare for him a furnace and throw him into the blazing flames.”[37.97] | قَالُوا ابْنُوا لَه ُُ بُنْيَانا ً فَأَلْقُوه ُُ فِي الْجَحِيمِ |
Fa'arādū Bihi Kaydāan Faja`alnāhumu Al-'Asfalīna  | Thus did they scheme against him: but We humiliated them in their scheme.[37.98] | فَأَرَادُوا بِه ِِ كَيْدا ً فَجَعَلْنَاهُمُ الأَسْفَلِينَ |
Wa Qāla 'Innī Dhāhibun 'Ilá Rabbī Sayahdīni  | Ibrمhïm said: “I am going to take refuge with my Rabb, He will surely guide me.[37.99] | وَقَالَ إِنِّي ذَاهِب ٌ إِلَى رَبِّي سَيَهْدِينِ |
Rabbi Hab Lī Mina Aş-Şāliĥīna  | O Rabb! Grant me a righteous son.”[37.100] | رَبِّ هَبْ لِي مِنَ الصَّالِحِينَ |
Fabashsharnāhu Bighulāmin Ĥalīmin  | So We gave him the good news of a gentle son.[37.101] | فَبَشَّرْنَاه ُُ بِغُلاَمٍ حَلِيم ٍ |
Falammā Balagha Ma`ahu As-Sa`ya Qāla Yā Bunayya 'Innī 'Ará Fī Al-Manāmi 'Annī 'Adhbaĥuka Fānžur Mādhā Tará Qāla Yā 'Abati Af`al Mā Tu'umaru Satajidunī 'In Shā'a Al-Lahu Mina Aş-Şābirīna  | When he reached the age to work with him, Ibrمhïm said to him: “O my son! I have seen a vision that I should offer you as a sacrifice, now tell me what is your view." He replied: “O my father! Do as you are commanded: you will find me, if Allah so wills, of the patient."[37.102] | فَلَمَّا بَلَغَ مَعَهُ السَّعْيَ قَالَ يَابُنَيَّ إِنِّي أَرَى فِي الْمَنَامِ أَنِّي أَذْبَحُكَ فَانظُرْ مَاذَا تَرَى قَالَ يَا أَبَتِ افْعَلْ مَا تُؤْمَرُ سَتَجِدُنِي إِنْ شَاءَ اللَّهُ مِنَ الصَّابِرِينَ |
Falammā 'Aslamā Wa Tallahu Liljabīni  | And when they both submitted to Allah and Ibrمhïm laid down his son prostrate upon his forehead for sacrifice;[37.103] | فَلَمَّا أَسْلَمَا وَتَلَّه ُُ لِلْجَبِينِ |
Wa Nādaynāhu 'An Yā 'Ibrāhīmu  | We called out to him: “O Ibrمhïm stop![37.104] | وَنَادَيْنَاهُ~ُ أَنْ يَا إِبْرَاهِيمُ |
Qad Şaddaqta Ar-Ru'uyā 'Innā Kadhālika Najzī Al-Muĥsinīna  | You have fulfilled your vision.” Thus do We reward the righteous.[37.105] | قَد صَدَّقْتَ الرُّؤْيَا إِنَّا كَذَلِكَ نَجْزِي الْمُحْسِنِينَ |
'Inna Hādhā Lahuwa Al-Balā'u Al-Mubīnu  | That was indeed a manifest test.[37.106] | إِنَّ هَذَا لَهُوَ الْبَلاَءُ الْمُبِينُ |
Wa Fadaynāhu Bidhibĥin `Ažīmin  | We ransomed his son for a great sacrifice[37.107] | وَفَدَيْنَاه ُُ بِذِبْحٍ عَظِيم ٍ |
Wa Taraknā `Alayhi Fī Al-'Ākhirīna  | and We left his good name among the later generations.[37.108] | وَتَرَكْنَا عَلَيْهِ فِي الآخِرِينَ |
Salāmun `Alá 'Ibrāhīma  | Salutation to Ibrمhïm.[37.109] | سَلاَمٌ عَلَى إِبْرَاهِيمَ |
Kadhālika Najzī Al-Muĥsinīna  | Thus We reward the righteous.[37.110] | كَذَلِكَ نَجْزِي الْمُحْسِنِينَ |
'Innahu Min `Ibādinā Al-Mu'uminīna  | Surely he was one of Our believing devotees.[37.111] | إِنَّه ُُ مِنْ عِبَادِنَا الْمُؤْمِنِينَ |
Wa Bashsharnāhu Bi'isĥāqa Nabīyāan Mina Aş-Şāliĥīna  | We gave him the good news of Ishمq - a prophet - one of the righteous.[37.112] | وَبَشَّرْنَاه ُُ بِإِسْحَاقَ نَبِيّا ً مِنَ الصَّالِحِينَ |
Wa Bāraknā `Alayhi Wa `Alá 'Isĥāqa Wa Min Dhurrīyatihimā Muĥsinun Wa Žālimun Linafsihi Mubīnun  | We blessed him and Ishمq both. Among their progeny there are some who are righteous and some who are clearly doing wrong to their own souls.[37.113] | وَبَارَكْنَا عَلَيْهِ وَعَلَى إِسْحَاقَ وَمِنْ ذُرِّيَّتِهِمَا مُحْسِن ٌ وَظَالِم ٌ لِنَفْسِه ِِ مُبِين ٌ |
Wa Laqad Manannā `Alá Mūsá Wa Hārūna  | We bestowed Our favor on Musa and Haroon.[37.114] | وَلَقَدْ مَنَنَّا عَلَى مُوسَى وَهَارُونَ |
Wa Najjaynāhumā Wa Qawmahumā Mina Al-Karbi Al-`Ažīmi  | We delivered them with all their people from the mighty distress.[37.115] | وَنَجَّيْنَاهُمَا وَقَوْمَهُمَا مِنَ الْكَرْبِ الْعَظِيمِ |
Wa Naşarnāhum Fakānū Humu Al-Ghālibīna  | We helped them so they became victorious.[37.116] | وَنَصَرْنَاهُمْ فَكَانُوا هُمُ الْغَالِبِينَ |
Wa 'Ātaynāhumā Al-Kitāba Al-Mustabīna  | We gave them the Glorious Book (Torah),[37.117] | وَآتَيْنَاهُمَا الْكِتَابَ الْمُسْتَبِينَ |
Wa Hadaynāhumā Aş-Şirāţa Al-Mustaqīma  | and guided them both to the Right Way.[37.118] | وَهَدَيْنَاهُمَا الصِّرَاطَ الْمُسْتَقِيمَ |
Wa Taraknā `Alayhimā Fī Al-'Ākhirīna  | We left their good names among the later generations.[37.119] | وَتَرَكْنَا عَلَيْهِمَا فِي الآخِرِينَ |
Salāmun `Alá Mūsá Wa Hārūna  | Salutation to Musa and Haroon.[37.120] | سَلاَمٌ عَلَى مُوسَى وَهَارُونَ |
'Innā Kadhālika Najzī Al-Muĥsinīna  | Thus do We reward the righteous.[37.121] | إِنَّا كَذَلِكَ نَجْزِي الْمُحْسِنِينَ |
'Innahumā Min `Ibādinā Al-Mu'uminīna  | Surely they were two of Our believing devotees.[37.122] | إِنَّهُمَا مِنْ عِبَادِنَا الْمُؤْمِنِينَ |
Wa 'Inna 'Ilyāsa Lamina Al-Mursalīna  | Ilyمs (Elias) was surely one of Our Rasools.[37.123] | وَإِنَّ إِلْيَاسَ لَمِنَ الْمُرْسَلِينَ |
'Idh Qāla Liqawmihi 'Alā Tattaqūna  | "Behold," he said to his people: “Have you no fear of Allah?[37.124] | إِذْ قَالَ لِقَوْمِهِ~ِ أَلاَ تَتَّقُونَ |
'Atad`ūna Ba`lāan Wa Tadharūna 'Aĥsana Al-Khāliqīna  | Would you invoke Bمl (their invented god) and forsake the best of the Creators[37.125] | أَتَدْعُونَ بَعْلا ً وَتَذَرُونَ أَحْسَنَ الْخَالِقِينَ |
Al-Laha Rabbakum Wa Rabba 'Ābā'ikumu Al-'Awwalīna  | - Allah - Who is your Rabb and the Rabb of your forefathers?”[37.126] | اللَّهَ رَبَّكُمْ وَرَبَّ آبَائِكُمُ الأَوَّلِينَ |
Fakadhdhabūhu Fa'innahum Lamuĥđarūna  | But they denied him, so they will certainly be called to account,[37.127] | فَكَذَّبُوه ُُ فَإِنَّهُمْ لَمُحْضَرُونَ |
'Illā `Ibāda Al-Lahi Al-Mukhlaşīna  | with the exception of sincere devotees of Allah.[37.128] | إِلاَّ عِبَادَ اللَّهِ الْمُخْلَصِينَ |
Wa Taraknā `Alayhi Fī Al-'Ākhirīna  | We left his good name among the later generations.[37.129] | وَتَرَكْنَا عَلَيْهِ فِي الآخِرِينَ |
Salāmun `Alá 'Il Yā -Sīn  | Salutation to Ilyمs.[37.130] | سَلاَمٌ عَلَى إِلْ يَا-سِين |
'Innā Kadhālika Najzī Al-Muĥsinīna  | Thus do We reward the righteous.[37.131] | إِنَّا كَذَلِكَ نَجْزِي الْمُحْسِنِينَ |
'Innahu Min `Ibādinā Al-Mu'uminīna  | He was surely one of Our believing devotees.[37.132] | إِنَّه ُُ مِنْ عِبَادِنَا الْمُؤْمِنِينَ |
Wa 'Inna Lūţāan Lamina Al-Mursalīna  | Lüt was one of Our Rasools.[37.133] | وَإِنَّ لُوطا ً لَمِنَ الْمُرْسَلِينَ |
'Idh Najjaynāhu Wa 'Ahlahu 'Ajma`īna  | Behold, We delivered him and his whole family[37.134] | إِذْ نَجَّيْنَاه ُُ وَأَهْلَهُ~ُ أَجْمَعِينَ |
'Illā `Ajūzāan Fī Al-Ghābirīna  | except an old woman who was among those who remained behind,[37.135] | إِلاَّ عَجُوزا ً فِي الْغَابِرِينَ |
Thumma Dammarnā Al-'Ākharīna  | and We destroyed the others.[37.136] | ثُمَّ دَمَّرْنَا الآخَرِينَ |
Wa 'Innakum Latamurrūna `Alayhim Muşbiĥīna  | Surely you pass by their ruins by day[37.137] | وَإِنَّكُمْ لَتَمُرُّونَ عَلَيْهِمْ مُصْبِحِينَ |
Wa Bil-Layli 'Afalā Ta`qilūna  | and by night. Will you not use your common sense?[37.138] | وَبِاللَّيْلِ أَفَلاَ تَعْقِلُونَ |
Wa 'Inna Yūnis Lamina Al-Mursalīna  | SECTION 5 Yünus (Jonah) was surely one of Our Rasools.[37.139] | وَإِنَّ يُونِس لَمِنَ الْمُرْسَلِينَ |
'Idh 'Abaqa 'Ilá Al-Fulki Al-Mashĥūni  | When he ran to the laden ship,[37.140] | إِذْ أَبَقَ إِلَى الْفُلْكِ الْمَشْحُونِ |
Fasāhama Fakāna Mina Al-Mudĥađīna  | took part in casting of lots, and was condemned.[37.141] | فَسَاهَمَ فَكَانَ مِنَ الْمُدْحَضِينَ |
Fāltaqamahu Al-Ĥūtu Wa Huwa Mulīmun  | A whale swallowed him for he had become blameworthy.[37.142] | فَالْتَقَمَهُ الْحُوتُ وَهُوَ مُلِيم ٌ |
Falawlā 'Annahu Kāna Mina Al-Musabbiĥīna  | Had he not repented and became of those who glorify Allah,[37.143] | فَلَوْلاَ أَنَّه ُُ كَانَ مِنَ الْمُسَبِّحِينَ |
Lalabitha Fī Baţnihi 'Ilá Yawmi Yub`athūna  | he would certainly have remained inside its belly till the Day of Resurrection.[37.144] | لَلَبِثَ فِي بَطْنِهِ~ِ إِلَى يَوْمِ يُبْعَثُونَ |
Fanabadhnāhu Bil-`Arā'i Wa Huwa Saqīmun  | Then We cast him upon a desolate |
