`Alá Şirāţin Mustaqīmin on a Straight Way.[36.4]
Tanzīla Al-`Azīzi Ar-Raĥīmi This Quran is revealed by the Almighty, the Merciful.[36.5]
Litundhira Qawmāan Mā 'Undhira 'Ābā'uuhum Fahum Ghāfilūna So that you may warn a people whose forefathers were not warned, hence they are unaware.[36.6]
Laqad Ĥaqqa Al-Qawlu `Alá 'Aktharihim Fahum Lā Yu'uminūna In fact, the Word has been proven true against most of them who are arrogant; so they do not believe.[36.7]
'Innā Ja`alnā Fī 'A`nāqihim 'Aghlālāan Fahiya 'Ilá Al-'Adhqāni Fahum Muqmaĥūna Since they have chosen to neglect Our revelations, We have thus put yokes round their necks right up to their chins so their heads are raised up,[36.8]
Wa Ja`alnā Min Bayni 'Aydīhim Saddāan Wa Min Khalfihim Saddāan Fa'aghshaynāhum Fahum Lā Yubşirūna and We have put a barrier in front of them and a barrier behind them, and then We have covered them over so they cannot see.[36.9]
Wa Sawā'un `Alayhim 'A'andhartahum 'Am Lam Tundhirhum Lā Yu'uminūna It is the same for them whether you warn them or warn them not, they will not believe.[36.10]
'Innamā Tundhiru Mani Attaba`a Adh-Dhikra Wa Khashiya Ar-Raĥmana Bil-Ghaybi Fabashshirhu Bimaghfiratin Wa 'Ajrin Karīmin You can only warn those who follow the reminder and fear the Compassionate (Allah), though they cannot see Him. To such people give good news of forgiveness and a generous reward.[36.11]
'Innā Naĥnu Nuĥyi Al-Mawtá Wa Naktubu Mā Qaddamū Wa 'Āthārahum Wa Kulla Shay'in 'Ĥşaynāhu Fī 'Imāmin Mubīnin Surely We shall resurrect the dead, We are recording all that they are sending ahead and that they are leaving behind. We have recorded everything in an open ledger.[36.12]
Wa Ađrib Lahum Mathalāan 'Aşĥāba Al-Qaryati 'Idh Jā'ahā Al-Mursalūna Narrate to them the example of the people of a certain town to whom the Rasools came.[36.13]
'Idh 'Arsalnā 'Ilayhimu Athnayni Fakadhdhabūhumā Fa`azzaznā Bithālithin Faqālū 'Innā 'Ilaykum Mursalūna At first We sent to them two Rasools, but when they rejected both, We strengthened them with a third and they all said: Surely we have been sent to you as Rasools.[36.14]
Qālū Mā 'Antum 'Illā Basharun Mithlunā Wa Mā 'Anzala Ar-Raĥmānu Min Shay'in 'In 'Antum 'Illā Takdhibūna But the people replied: You are but humans like us. The Compassionate (Allah) has revealed nothing; you are surely lying.[36.15]
Qālū Rabbunā Ya`lamu 'Innā 'Ilaykum Lamursalūna They said: Our Rabb knows that we have indeed been sent as Rasools towards you[36.16]
Wa Mā `Alaynā 'Illā Al-Balāghu Al-Mubīnu and our only duty is to convey His message plainly.[36.17]
Qālū 'Innā Taţayyarnā Bikum La'in Lam Tantahū Lanarjumannakum Wa Layamassannakum Minnā `Adhābun 'Alīmun The people replied: We regard you as an evil omen for us. Desist, or we will either stone you or you will receive from us a painful punishment.[36.18]
Qālū Ţā'irukum Ma`akum 'A'in Dhukkirtum Bal 'Antum Qawmun Musrifūna They said: Your evil omens lie within yourselves. Do you say this because you are being admonished? Indeed you are a nation of transgressors.[36.19]
Wa Jā'a Min 'Aqşá Al-Madīnati Rajulun Yas`á Qāla Yā Qawmi Attabi`ū Al-Mursalīna In the meantime a man came running from the remote part of the City and said: O my people! Follow these Rasools.[36.20]
Attabi`ū Man Lā Yas'alukum 'Ajrāan Wa Hum Muhtadūna Follow the ones who ask no reward of you and are rightly guided."[36.21]
Wa Mā Liya Lā 'A`budu Al-Ladhī Faţaranī Wa 'Ilayhi Turja`ūna It would not be justifiable on my part if I do not worship Him Who has created me and to Whom you shall be brought back.[36.22]
'A'attakhidhu Min Dūnihi 'Ālihatan 'In Yuridni Ar-Raĥmānu Biđurrin Lā Tughni `Annī Shafā`atuhum Shay'āan Wa Lā Yunqidhūni Should I take other gods besides Him? If the Compassionate (Allah) should intend to harm me, their intercession will avail me nothing, nor will they be able to save me.[36.23]
'Innī 'Idhāan Lafī Đalālin Mubīnin If I do so, I would indeed be in manifest error.[36.24]
'Innī 'Āmantu Birabbikum Fāsma`ūni Surely I believe in your Rabb, so listen to me.[36.25]
Qīla Adkhuli Al-Jannata Qāla Yā Layta Qawmī Ya`lamūna Consequently they killed that man and it was said to him: Enter paradise. He exclaimed: Would that my people knew that what I know![36.26]
Bimā Ghafara Lī Rabbī Wa Ja`alanī Mina Al-Mukramīna How my Rabb has granted me forgiveness and included me among the honored ones.[36.27]
Wa Mā 'Anzalnā `Alá Qawmihi Min Ba`dihi Min Jundin Mina As-Samā'i Wa Mā Kunnā Munzilīna After that We did not send any army against his people from heaven, nor was it necessary to do so.[36.28]
'In Kānat 'Illā Şayĥatan Wāĥidatan Fa'idhā Hum Khāmidūna It was nothing but a single blast and they all became extinct.[36.29]
Yā Ĥasratan `Alá Al-`Ibādi Mā Ya'tīhim Min Rasūlin 'Illā Kānū Bihi Yastahzi'ūn Alas for My bondsmen! Whenever there came to them a Rasool they mocked at him.[36.30]

Wa Ja`alnā Fīhā Jannātin Min Nakhīlin Wa 'A`nābin Wa Fajjarnā Fīhā Mina Al-`Uyūni We also produce from it gardens with date-palms and vines, and We cause springs to gush forth from it,[36.34]
Liya'kulū Min Thamarihi Wa Mā `Amilat/hu 'Aydīhim 'Afalā Yashkurūna so that they may enjoy the fruits thereof. It was not their hands that made all this; should they not then give thanks?[36.35]
