Ţā-Sīn Tilka 'Āyātu Al-Qur'āni Wa Kitābin Mubīnin  | Tuم Sïn. These are verses of the Qur’an, the Glorious Book;[27.1] | طَا-سِين تِلْكَ آيَاتُ الْقُرْآنِ وَكِتَاب ٍ مُبِين ٍ |
Hudáan Wa Bushrá Lilmu'uminīna  | a guide and good news for the believers,[27.2] | هُدى ً وَبُشْرَى لِلْمُؤْمِنِينَ |
Al-Ladhīna Yuqīmūna Aş-Şalāata Wa Yu'utūna Az-Zakāata Wa Hum Bil-'Ākhirati Hum Yūqinūna  | who establish the Salah (prayer) and pay the Zakah (charity) and firmly believe in the hereafter.[27.3] | الَّذِينَ يُقِيمُونَ الصَّلاَةَ وَيُؤْتُونَ الزَّكَاةَ وَهُمْ بِالآخِرَةِ هُمْ يُوقِنُونَ |
'Inna Al-Ladhīna Lā Yu'uminūna Bil-'Ākhirati Zayyannā Lahum 'A`mālahum Fahum Ya`mahūna  | As for those who do not believe in the hereafter, We make their deeds seem fair to them, therefore they blunder about in their folly.[27.4] | إِنَّ الَّذِينَ لاَ يُؤْمِنُونَ بِالآخِرَةِ زَيَّنَّا لَهُمْ أَعْمَالَهُمْ فَهُمْ يَعْمَهُونَ |
'Ūlā'ika Al-Ladhīna Lahum Sū'u Al-`Adhābi Wa Hum Fī Al-'Ākhirati Humu Al-'Akhsarūna  | They are the ones for whom there is an evil punishment, and in the hereafter, they will be the greatest losers.[27.5] | أُوْلَائِكَ الَّذِينَ لَهُمْ سُوءُ الْعَذَابِ وَهُمْ فِي الآخِرَةِ هُمُ الأَخْسَرُونَ |
Wa 'Innaka Latulaqqá Al-Qur'āna Min Ladun Ĥakīmin `Alīmin  | And O Muhammad, most surely you are receiving this Qur’an from the One Who is wise and All-Knowing.[27.6] | وَإِنَّكَ لَتُلَقَّى الْقُرْآنَ مِنْ لَدُنْ حَكِيمٍ عَلِيم ٍ |
'Idh Qāla Mūsá Li'hlihi 'Innī 'Ānastu Nārāan Sa'ātīkum Minhā Bikhabarin 'Aw 'Ātīkum Bishihābin Qabasin La`allakum Taşţalūna  | Relate to them the story of Musa (Moses), when he said to his family: “I have seen a fire; soon I may either bring you some information from there or a lighted torch to warm yourselves with."[27.7] | إِذْ قَالَ مُوسَى لِأهْلِهِ~ِ إِنِّي آنَسْتُ نَارا ً سَآتِيكُمْ مِنْهَا بِخَبَرٍ أَوْ آتِيكُمْ بِشِهَاب ٍ قَبَس ٍ لَعَلَّكُمْ تَصْطَلُونَ |
Falammā Jā'ahā Nūdiya 'An Būrika Man Fī An-Nāri Wa Man Ĥawlahā Wa Subĥāna Al-Lahi Rabbi Al-`Ālamīna  | When he came to it, a voice called out to him: “Blessed be He Who is in this fire and all around it! Glory be to Allah the Rabb of the Worlds![27.8] | فَلَمَّا جَاءَهَا نُودِيَ أَنْ بُورِكَ مَنْ فِي النَّارِ وَمَنْ حَوْلَهَا وَسُبْحَانَ اللَّهِ رَبِّ الْعَالَمِينَ |
Yā Mūsá 'Innahu 'Anā Al-Lahu Al-`Azīzu Al-Ĥakīmu  | O Musa, this is Me, Allah, the All-Mighty, the Wise.[27.9] | يَا مُوسَى إِنَّهُ~ُ أَنَا اللَّهُ الْعَزِيزُ الْحَكِيمُ |
Wa 'Alqi `Aşāka Falammā Ra'āhā Tahtazzu Ka'annahā Jānnun Wallá Mudbirāan Wa Lam Yu`aqqib Yā Mūsá Lā Takhaf 'Innī Lā Yakhāfu Ladayya Al-Mursalūna  | Throw down your staff." When he saw it moving like a snake, he turned back and fled without even looking back. “O Musa, do not be afraid,” said Allah, “My Rasool need not be afraid in My presence,[27.10] | وَأَلْقِ عَصَاكَ فَلَمَّا رَآهَا تَهْتَزُّ كَأَنَّهَا جَانّ ٌ وَلَّى مُدْبِرا ً وَلَمْ يُعَقِّبْ يَا مُوسَى لاَ تَخَفْ إِنِّي لاَ يَخَافُ لَدَيَّ الْمُرْسَلُونَ |
'Illā Man Žalama Thumma Baddala Ĥusnāan Ba`da Sū'in Fa'innī Ghafūrun Raĥīmun  | unless, of course, he is guilty of wrongdoing; even then, if he replaces that wrongdoing with a good deed, I am indeed Forgiving, Merciful.[27.11] | إِلاَّ مَنْ ظَلَمَ ثُمَّ بَدَّلَ حُسْنا ً بَعْدَ سُوء ٍ فَإِنِّي غَفُور ٌ رَحِيم ٌ |
Wa 'Adkhil Yadaka Fī Jaybika Takhruj Bayđā'a Min Ghayri Sū'in Fī Tis`i 'Āyātin 'Ilá Fir`awna Wa Qawmihi 'Innahum Kānū Qawmāan Fāsiqīna  | Now put your hand into your pocket, it will come out shining white without any harm. These two signs are from the nine signs that you will be given during your mission to Fir'on (Pharaoh) and his people; for truly, they are a people of transgressors.”[27.12] | وَأَدْخِلْ يَدَكَ فِي جَيْبِكَ تَخْرُجْ بَيْضَاءَ مِنْ غَيْرِ سُوء ٍ فِي تِسْعِ آيَات ٍ إِلَى فِرْعَوْنَ وَقَوْمِهِ~ِ إِنَّهُمْ كَانُوا قَوْما ً فَاسِقِينَ |
Falammā Jā'at/hum 'Āyātunā Mubşiratan Qālū Hādhā Siĥrun Mubīnun  | But, when our signs were shown to them, they said: “This is clear sorcery."[27.13] | فَلَمَّا جَاءَتْهُمْ آيَاتُنَا مُبْصِرَة ً قَالُوا هَذَا سِحْر ٌ مُبِين ٌ |
Wa Jaĥadū Bihā Wa Astayqanat/hā 'Anfusuhum Žulmāan Wa `Ulūwāan Fānžur Kayfa Kāna `Āqibatu Al-Mufsidīna  | They were convinced in their hearts about the truth of those miracles, yet they denied those signs in their wickedness and pride. So you see, what was the end of those transgressors.[27.14] | وَجَحَدُوا بِهَا وَاسْتَيْقَنَتْهَا أَنْفُسُهُمْ ظُلْما ً وَعُلُوّا ً فَانظُرْ كَيْفَ كَانَ عَاقِبَةُ الْمُفْسِدِينَ |
Wa Laqad 'Ātaynā Dāwūda Wa Sulaymāna `Ilmāan Wa Qālā Al-Ĥamdu Lillahi Al-Ladhī Fađđalanā `Alá Kathīrin Min `Ibādihi Al-Mu'uminīna  | We bestowed knowledge on Dawُُd (David) and Sulaimمn (Solomon). They both said: “Praise be to Allah Who has exalted us above many of His believing servants."[27.15] | وَلَقَدْ آتَيْنَا دَاوُودَ وَسُلَيْمَانَ عِلْما ً وَقَالاَ الْحَمْدُ لِلَّهِ الَّذِي فَضَّلَنَا عَلَى كَثِير ٍ مِنْ عِبَادِهِ الْمُؤْمِنِينَ |
Wa Waritha Sulaymānu Dāwūda Wa Qāla Yā 'Ayyuhā An-Nāsu `Ullimnā Manţiqa Aţ-Ţayri Wa 'Ūtīnā Min Kulli Shay'in 'Inna Hādhā Lahuwa Al-Fađlu Al-Mubīnu  | Sulaimمn succeeded Dawُُd. He said: “O people! We have been taught the language of birds and given all sort of things. This is indeed a great blessing from Allah."[27.16] | وَوَرِثَ سُلَيْمَانُ دَاوُودَ وَقَالَ يَاأَيُّهَا النَّاسُ عُلِّمْنَا مَنطِقَ الطَّيْرِ وَأُوتِينَا مِنْ كُلِّ شَيْء ٍ إِنَّ هَذَا لَهُوَ الْفَضْلُ الْمُبِينُ |
Wa Ĥushira Lisulaymāna Junūduhu Mina Al-Jinni Wa Al-'Insi Wa Aţ-Ţayri Fahum Yūza`ūna  | Sulaimمn gathered an army comprised of Jinns, men and birds; they all were kept under strict discipline.[27.17] | وَحُشِرَ لِسُلَيْمَانَ جُنُودُه ُُ مِنَ الْجِنِّ وَالإِنْسِ وَالطَّيْرِ فَهُمْ يُوزَعُونَ |
Ĥattá 'Idhā 'Ataw `Alá Wādī An-Namli Qālat Namlatun Yā 'Ayyuhā An-Namlu Adkhulū Masākinakum Lā Yaĥţimannakum Sulaymānu Wa Junūduhu Wa Hum Lā Yash`urūna  | Once in an expedition he was marching with his army when they came across a valley of ants, one of the ants said: “O ants, get into your habitations lest Sulaimمn and his army crush you under their feet without even noticing it."[27.18] | حَتَّى إِذَا أَتَوْا عَلَى وَادِي النَّمْلِ قَالَتْ نَمْلَة ٌ يَاأَيُّهَا النَّمْلُ ادْخُلُوا مَسَاكِنَكُمْ لاَ يَحْطِمَنَّكُمْ سُلَيْمَانُ وَجُنُودُه ُُ وَهُمْ لاَ يَشْعُرُونَ |
Fatabassama Đāĥikāan Min Qawlihā Wa Qāla Rabbi 'Awzi`nī 'An 'Ashkura Ni`mataka Allatī 'An`amta `Alayya Wa `Alá Wa A-Dayya Wa 'An 'A`mala Şāliĥāan Tarđāhu Wa 'Adkhilnī Biraĥmatika Fī `Ibādika Aş-Şāliĥīna  | So Sulaimمn smiled, laughing at its statement, and said: “O Rabb! Inspire me to render thanks for Your favors, which You have bestowed on me and on my parents, to do such good deeds that will please You; and admit me, by Your mercy, among Your righteous servants."[27.19] | فَتَبَسَّمَ ضَاحِكا ً مِنْ قَوْلِهَا وَقَالَ رَبِّ أَوْزِعْنِي أَنْ أَشْكُرَ نِعْمَتَكَ الَّتِي أَنْعَمْتَ عَلَيَّ وَعَلَى وَالِدَيَّ وَأَنْ أَعْمَلَ صَالِحا ً تَرْضَاه ُُ وَأَدْخِلْنِي بِرَحْمَتِكَ فِي عِبَادِكَ الصَّالِحِينَ |
Wa Tafaqqada Aţ-Ţayra Faqāla Mā Lī Lā 'Ará Al-Hud/huda 'Am Kāna Mina Al-Ghā'ibīna  | He took a roll call of the birds and said: “I do not see the hoopoe, where is he? How could he be absent?[27.20] | وَتَفَقَّدَ الطَّيْرَ فَقَالَ مَا لِي لاَ أَرَى الْهُدْهُدَ أَمْ كَانَ مِنَ الْغَائِبِينَ |
La'u`adhdhibannahu `Adhābāan Shadīdāan 'Aw La'adhbaĥannahu 'Aw Laya'tiyanī Bisulţānin Mubīnin  | I will certainly punish him severely or even slay him, if he does not offer me a reasonable excuse for his absence."[27.21] | لَأُعَذِّبَنَّه ُُ عَذَابا ً شَدِيداً أَوْ لَأَذْبَحَنَّهُ~ُ أَوْ لَيَأْتِيَنِي بِسُلْطَان ٍ مُبِين ٍ |
Famakatha Ghayra Ba`īdin Faqāla 'Aĥaţtu Bimā Lam Tuĥiţ Bihi Wa Ji'tuka Min Saba'iin Binaba'iin Yaqīnin  | The hoopoe, who did not take long in coming, said: I have just found out that which you do not know. I have brought you reliable information about the people of Sheba.[27.22] | فَمَكَثَ غَيْرَ بَعِيد ٍ فَقَالَ أَحَطتُ بِمَا لَمْ تُحِطْ بِه ِِ وَجِئْتُكَ مِنْ سَبَإ ٍ بِنَبَإ ٍ يَقِين ٍ |
'Innī Wa Jadttu Amra'atan Tamlikuhum Wa 'Ūtiyat Min Kulli Shay'in Wa Lahā `Arshun `Ažīmun  | I found that a woman is ruling over them, she has been given everything and she possesses a magnificent throne.[27.23] | إِنِّي وَجَدتُّ امْرَأَة ً تَمْلِكُهُمْ وَأُوتِيَتْ مِنْ كُلِّ شَيْء ٍ وَلَهَا عَرْشٌ عَظِيم ٌ |
Wa Jadtuhā Wa Qawmahā Yasjudūna Lilshshamsi Min Dūni Al-Lahi Wa Zayyana Lahumu Ash-Shayţānu 'A`mālahum Faşaddahum `Ani As-Sabīli Fahum Lā Yahtadūna  | Further I found that she and her people prostrate themselves before the sun instead of Allah. Shaitمn has made their deeds fair-seeming to them and thus turned them away from the Right Way, so that they may not be guided[27.24] | وَجَدْتُهَا وَقَوْمَهَا يَسْجُدُونَ لِلشَّمْسِ مِنْ دُونِ اللَّهِ وَزَيَّنَ لَهُمُ الشَّيْطَانُ أَعْمَالَهُمْ فَصَدَّهُمْ عَنِ السَّبِيلِ فَهُمْ لاَ يَهْتَدُونَ |
'Allā Yasjudū Lillahi Al-Ladhī Yukhriju Al-Khab'a Fī As-Samāwāti Wa Al-'Arđi Wa Ya`lamu Mā Tukhfūna Wa Mā Tu`linūna  | to prostrate themselves before Allah, the One Who brings to light all that is hidden in the heavens and the earth and knows exactly what you hide and what you reveal.[27.25] | أَلاَّ يَسْجُدُوا لِلَّهِ الَّذِي يُخْرِجُ الْخَبْءَ فِي السَّمَاوَاتِ وَالأَرْضِ وَيَعْلَمُ مَا تُخْفُونَ وَمَا تُعْلِنُونَ |
Al-Lahu Lā 'Ilāha 'Illā Huwa Rabbu Al-`Arshi Al-`Ažīmi  | Allah! There is no god but Him. He is the Lord of the Mighty Throne."[27.26] | اللَّهُ لاَ إِلَهَ~َ إِلاَّ هُوَ رَبُّ الْعَرْشِ الْعَظِيمِ |
Qāla Sananžuru 'Aşadaqta 'Am Kunta Mina Al-Kādhibīna  | Sulaimمn said: “Soon we shall find out whether what you say is true or false.[27.27] | قَالَ سَنَنظُرُ أَصَدَقْتَ أَمْ كُنتَ مِنَ الْكَاذِبِينَ |
Adh/hab Bikitābī Hādhā Fa'alqih 'Ilayhim Thumma Tawalla `Anhum Fānžur Mādhā Yarji`ūna  | Go and deliver to them this letter of mine, then turn aside and wait for their answer.” [27.28] | اذْهَب بِكِتَابِي هَذَا فَأَلْقِه إِلَيْهِمْ ثُمَّ تَوَلَّ عَنْهُمْ فَانظُرْ مَاذَا يَرْجِعُونَ |
Qālat Yā 'Ayyuhā Al-Mala'u 'Innī 'Ulqiya 'Ilayya Kitābun Karīmun  | The Queen said: “O my chiefs! A very important letter has been delivered to me;[27.29] | قَالَتْ يَا أَيُّهَا المَلَأُ إِنِّي أُلْقِيَ إِلَيَّ كِتَاب ٌ كَرِيم ٌ |
'Innahu Min Sulaymāna Wa 'Innahu Bismi Al-Lahi Ar-Raĥmāni Ar-Raĥīmi  | it is from Sulaimمn, and it begins with the name of Allah, the Compassionate, the Merciful.[27.30] | إِنَّه ُُ مِنْ سُلَيْمَانَ وَإِنَّه ُُ بِسْمِ اللَّهِ الرَّحْمَنِ الرَّحِيمِ |
'Allā Ta`lū `Alayya Wa 'Tūnī Muslimīna  | It reads: Do not be arrogant against me and come to me in complete submission (as a Muslim)."[27.31] | أَلاَّ تَعْلُوا عَلَيَّ وَأْتُونِي مُسْلِمِينَ |
Qālat Yā 'Ayyuhā Al-Mala'u 'Aftūnī Fī 'Amrī Mā Kuntu Qāţi`atan 'Amrāan Ĥattá Tash/hadūni  | Then she asked: “O chiefs! Let me hear your advice, for I make no decision without your counsel."[27.32] | قَالَتْ يَاأَيُّهَا المَلَأُ أَفْتُونِي فِي أَمْرِي مَا كُنتُ قَاطِعَةً أَمْراً حَتَّى تَشْهَدُونِ |
Qālū Naĥnu 'Ūlū Qūwatin Wa 'Ūlū Ba'sin Shadīdin Wa Al-'Amru 'Ilayki Fānžurī Mādhā Ta'murīna  | They replied: “We are a valiant and mighty nation. You are the commander. So we shall be waiting for your command."[27.33] | قَالُوا نَحْنُ أُوْلُوا قُوَّة ٍ وَأُولُوا بَأْس ٍ شَدِيد ٍ وَالأَمْرُ إِلَيْكِ فَانظُرِي مَاذَا تَأْمُرِينَ |
Qālat 'Inna Al-Mulūka 'Idhā Dakhalū Qaryatan 'Afsadūhā Wa Ja`alū 'A`izzata 'Ahlihā 'Adhillatan Wa Kadhalika Yaf`alūna  | The queen said: “When the kings invade a town, they ruin it and debase its honorable people; and thus they always do.[27.34] | قَالَتْ إِنَّ الْمُلُوكَ إِذَا دَخَلُوا قَرْيَةً أَفْسَدُوهَا وَجَعَلُوا أَعِزَّةَ أَهْلِهَا أَذِلَّة ً وَكَذَلِكَ يَفْعَلُونَ |
Wa 'Innī Mursilatun 'Ilayhim Bihadīyatin Fanāžiratun Bima Yarji`u Al-Mursalūna  | Therefore, I shall send them a present and see with what reply my envoys will return."[27.35] | وَإِنِّي مُرْسِلَة ٌ إِلَيْهِمْ بِهَدِيَّة ٍ فَنَاظِرَة ٌ بِمَ يَرْجِعُ الْمُرْسَلُونَ |
Falammā Jā'a Sulaymāna Qāla 'Atumiddūnani Bimālin Famā 'Ātāniya Al-Lahu Khayrun Mimmā 'Ātākum Bal 'Antum Bihadīyatikum Tafraĥūna  | When the envoys of the queen came to Sulaimمn, he said: “Do you want to provide me wealth? The wealth which Allah has given me is far more than what He has given you. You may very well keep your presents.[27.36] | فَلَمَّا جَاءَ سُلَيْمَانَ قَالَ أَتُمِدُّونَنِ بِمَال ٍ فَمَا آتَانِيَ اللَّهُ خَيْر ٌ مِمَّا آتَاكُمْ بَلْ أَنْتُمْ بِهَدِيَّتِكُمْ تَفْرَحُونَ |
Arji` 'Ilayhim Falana'tiyannahum Bijunūdin Lā Qibala Lahum Bihā Wa Lanukhrijannahum Minhā 'Adhillatan Wa Hum Şāghirūna  | Go back to your people: if your people do not submit, we will march against them with such an army which they shall never be able to face, and we shall drive them out of their land humbled and disgraced."[27.37] | ارْجِعْ إِلَيْهِمْ فَلَنَأْتِيَنَّهُمْ بِجُنُود ٍ لاَ قِبَلَ لَهُمْ بِهَا وَلَنُخْرِجَنَّهُمْ مِنْهَا أَذِلَّة ً وَهُمْ صَاغِرُونَ |
Qāla Yā 'Ayyuhā Al-Mala'u 'Ayyukum Ya'tīnī Bi`arshihā Qabla 'An Ya'tūnī Muslimīna  | Later on when Sulaimمn (Solomon) heard that the Queen of Sheba was coming in submission, he asked: “O my chiefs! Which of you can bring to me her throne before they come to me in submission?”[27.38] | قَالَ يَاأَيُّهَا المَلَأُ أَيُّكُمْ يَأْتِينِي بِعَرْشِهَا قَبْلَ أَنْ يَأْتُونِي مُسْلِمِينَ |
Qāla `Ifrytun Mina Al-Jinni 'Anā 'Ātīka Bihi Qabla 'An Taqūma Min Maqāmika Wa 'Innī `Alayhi Laqawīyun 'Amīnun  | An audacious one from the Jinns said: “I will bring it to you before you adjourn your court; and most surely I have the necessary strength and I am trustworthy."[27.39] | قَالَ عِفْريت ٌ مِنَ الْجِنِّ أَنَا آتِيكَ بِه ِِ قَبْلَ أَنْ تَقُومَ مِنْ مَقَامِكَ وَإِنِّي عَلَيْهِ لَقَوِيٌّ أَمِين ٌ |
Qāla Al-Ladhī `Indahu `Ilmun Mina Al-Kitābi 'Anā 'Ātīka Bihi Qabla 'An Yartadda 'Ilayka Ţarfuka Falammā Ra'āhu Mustaqirrāan `Indahu Qāla Hādhā Min Fađli Rabbī Liyabluwanī 'A'ashkuru 'Am 'Akfuru Wa Man Shakara Fa'innamā Yashkuru Linafsihi Wa Man Kafara Fa'inna Rabbī Ghanīyun Karīmun  | One person who had knowledge of the Book said: “I can bring it to you in the twinkling of an eye." As soon as Sulaimمn saw the throne placed before him, he exclaimed: “This is by the grace of my Rabb to test me whether I am grateful or ungrateful. Any who is grateful, surely his gratitude is a gain for his own soul, and any who is ungrateful should know that surely my Rabb is Self-Sufficient, Self-Exalted."[27.40] | قَالَ الَّذِي عِنْدَه ُُ عِلْم ٌ مِنَ الْكِتَابِ أَنَا آتِيكَ بِه ِِ قَبْلَ أَنْ يَرْتَدَّ إِلَيْكَ طَرْفُكَ فَلَمَّا رَآهُ مُسْتَقِرّاً عِنْدَه ُُ قَالَ هَذَا مِنْ فَضْلِ رَبِّي لِيَبْلُوَنِي أَأَشْكُرُ أَمْ أَكْفُرُ وَمَنْ شَكَرَ فَإِنَّمَا يَشْكُرُ لِنَفْسِه ِِ وَمَنْ كَفَرَ فَإِنَّ رَبِّي غَنِيّ ٌ كَرِيم ٌ |
Qāla Nakkirū Lahā `Arshahā Nanžur 'Atahtadī 'Am Takūnu Mina Al-Ladhīna Lā Yahtadūna  | Further he said: “Without any comment to her, set her throne in her sight; let us see whether she recognize it or she is of those who cannot recognize the Truth."[27.41] | قَالَ نَكِّرُوا لَهَا عَرْشَهَا نَنظُرْ أَتَهْتَدِي أَمْ تَكُونُ مِنَ الَّذِينَ لاَ يَهْتَدُونَ |
Falammā Jā'at Qīla 'Ahakadhā `Arshuki Qālat Ka'annahu Huwa Wa 'Ūtīnā Al-`Ilma Min Qablihā Wa Kunnā Muslimīna  | So when the queen arrived, she was asked: “Is your throne like this?” She replied: “It looks as if it is the same; we had come to know that Sulaimمn is not only a king but also a Prophet, therefore we have already become Muslims."[27.42] | فَلَمَّا جَاءَتْ قِيلَ أَهَكَذَا عَرْشُكِ قَالَتْ كَأَنَّه ُُ هُوَ وَأُوتِينَا الْعِلْمَ مِنْ قَبْلِهَا وَكُنَّا مُسْلِمِينَ |
Wa Şaddahā Mā Kānat Ta`budu Min Dūni Al-Lahi 'Innahā Kānat Min Qawmin Kāfirīna  | - Other deities whom she worshiped besides Allah had prevented her from believing, for she belonged to an unbelieving folk.[27.43] | وَصَدَّهَا مَا كَانَتْ تَعْبُدُ مِنْ دُونِ اللَّهِ إِنَّهَا كَانَتْ مِنْ قَوْم ٍ كَافِرِينَ |
Qīla Lahā Adkhulī Aş-Şarĥa Falammā Ra'at/hu Ĥasibat/hu Lujjatan Wa Kashafat `An Sāqayhā Qāla 'Innahu Şarĥun Mumarradun Min Qawārīra Qālat Rabbi 'Innī Žalamtu Nafsī Wa 'Aslamtu Ma`a Sulaymāna Lillahi Rabbi Al-`Ālamīna  | - Then she was asked to enter the palace. When she saw its floor, she thought that there was a pool of water, so she tucked up her skirts uncovering her legs. Sulaimمn said. “This is just a glossy paving of this palace." At this she exclaimed: “O my Rabb! I have indeed wronged my soul, now I submit myself in Islam with Sulaimمn to Allah, the Rabb of the Worlds."[27.44] | قِيلَ لَهَا ادْخُلِي الصَّرْحَ فَلَمَّا رَأَتْهُ حَسِبَتْهُ لُجَّة ً وَكَشَفَتْ عَنْ سَاقَيْهَا قَالَ إِنَّه ُُ صَرْح ٌ مُمَرَّد ٌ مِنْ قَوَارِيرَ قَالَتْ رَبِّ إِنِّي ظَلَمْتُ نَفْسِي وَأَسْلَمْتُ مَعَ سُلَيْمَانَ لِلَّهِ رَبِّ الْعَالَمِينَ |
Wa Laqad 'Arsalnā 'Ilá Thamūda 'Akhāhum Şāliĥāan 'Ani A`budū Al-Laha Fa'idhā Hum Farīqāni Yakhtaşimūna  | To the people of Thamüd, We sent their brother Saleh, saying: “Worship Allah," but they divided themselves into two discordant factions.[27.45] | وَلَقَدْ أَرْسَلْنَا إِلَى ثَمُودَ أَخَاهُمْ صَالِحاً أَنِ اعْبُدُوا اللَّهَ فَإِذَا هُمْ فَرِيقَانِ يَخْتَصِمُونَ |
Qāla Yā Qawmi Lima Tasta`jilūna Bis-Sayyi'ati Qabla Al-Ĥasanati Lawlā Tastaghfirūna Al-Laha La`allakum Turĥamūna  | Saleh said: “O my people! Why do you wish to hasten towards evil rather than good? Why do you not ask forgiveness of Allah so that you may be shown mercy?”[27.46] | قَالَ يَاقَوْمِ لِمَ تَسْتَعْجِلُونَ بِالسَّيِّئَةِ قَبْلَ الْحَسَنَةِ لَوْلاَ تَسْتَغْفِرُونَ اللَّهَ لَعَلَّكُمْ تُرْحَمُونَ |
Qālū Aţţayyarnā Bika Wa Biman Ma`aka Qāla Ţā'irukum `Inda Al-Lahi Bal 'Antum Qawmun Tuftanūna  | They said: “We consider you and your companions a sign of bad luck." He said: “Your luck is with Allah; in fact, you are a people under trial."[27.47] | قَالُوا اطَّيَّرْنَا بِكَ وَبِمَنْ مَعَكَ قَالَ طَائِرُكُمْ عِنْدَ اللَّهِ بَلْ أَنْتُمْ قَوْم ٌ تُفْتَنُونَ |
Wa Kāna Fī Al-Madīnati Tis`atu Rahţin Yufsidūna Fī Al-'Arđi Wa Lā Yuşliĥūna  | There were nine ringleaders in the city who created mischief in the land and reformed nothing.[27.48] | وَكَانَ فِي الْمَدِينَةِ تِسْعَةُ رَهْط ٍ يُفْسِدُونَ فِي الأَرْضِ وَلاَ يُصْلِحُونَ |
Qālū Taqāsamū Bil-Lahi Lanubayyitannahu Wa 'Ahlahu Thumma Lanaqūlanna Liwalīyihi Mā Shahidnā Mahlika 'Ahlihi Wa 'Innā Laşādiqūna  | They said to one another: “Let us pledge on oath by Allah that we shall make a secret night attack on him and his family, then we shall tell his guardian that we were not even present at the time his family was killed, and that we are telling the truth."[27.49] | قَالُوا تَقَاسَمُوا بِاللَّهِ لَنُبَيِّتَنَّه ُُ وَأَهْلَه ُُ ثُمَّ لَنَقُولَنَّ لِوَلِيِّه ِِ مَا شَهِدْنَا مَهْلِكَ أَهْلِه ِِ وَإِنَّا لَصَادِقُونَ |
Wa Makarū Makrāan Wa Makarnā Makrāan Wa Hum Lā Yash`urūna  | Thus they plotted a plan, and We too plotted a plan which they did not perceive.[27.50] | وَمَكَرُوا مَكْرا ً وَمَكَرْنَا مَكْرا ً وَهُمْ لاَ يَشْعُرُونَ |
Fānžur Kayfa Kāna `Āqibatu Makrihim 'Annā Dammarnāhum Wa Qawmahum 'Ajma`īna  | Just see what was the outcome of their plot! We annihilated them completely, together with all their people.[27.51] | فَانظُرْ كَيْفَ كَانَ عَاقِبَةُ مَكْرِهِمْ أَنَّا دَمَّرْنَاهُمْ وَقَوْمَهُمْ أَجْمَعِينَ |
Fatilka Buyūtuhum Khāwiyatan Bimā Žalamū 'Inna Fī Dhālika La'āyatan Liqawmin Ya`lamūna  | There lie their houses in desolate ruins as a result of their wrongdoings. Verily in this story there is a lesson for those people who use their common sense.[27.52] | فَتِلْكَ بُيُوتُهُمْ خَاوِيَة ً بِمَا ظَلَمُوا إِنَّ فِي ذَلِكَ لَآيَة ً لِقَوْم ٍ يَعْلَمُونَ |
Wa 'Anjaynā Al-Ladhīna 'Āmanū Wa Kānū Yattaqūna  | Yet We delivered the true believers who were righteous.[27.53] | وَأَنجَيْنَا الَّذِينَ آمَنُوا وَكَانُوا يَتَّقُونَ |
Wa Lūţāan 'Idh Qāla Liqawmihi 'Ata'tūna Al-Fāĥishata Wa 'Antum Tubşirūna  | Also mention to them of Lüt (Lot), when he said to his people: “Do you commit indecency though you see its iniquity?[27.54] | وَلُوطا ً إِذْ قَالَ لِقَوْمِهِ~ِ أَتَأْتُونَ الْفَاحِشَةَ وَأَنْتُمْ تُبْصِرُونَ |
'A'innakum Lata'tūna Ar-Rijāla Shahwatan Min Dūni An-Nisā' Bal 'Antum Qawmun Tajhalūna  | Do you approach men for your sexual desires instead of women? The fact is that you are a people steeped in ignorance."[27.55] | أَئِنَّكُمْ لَتَأْتُونَ الرِّجَالَ شَهْوَة ً مِنْ دُونِ النِسَاء بَلْ أَنْتُمْ قَوْم ٌ تَجْهَلُونَ |
Famā Kāna Jawāba Qawmihi 'Illā 'An Qālū 'Akhrijū 'Āla Lūţin Min Qaryatikum 'Innahum 'Unāsun Yataţahharūna  | But his people gave no answer except that they said: “Drive out the family of Lüt from your city: they pose to be very pious."[27.56] | فَمَا كَانَ جَوَابَ قَوْمِهِ~ِ إِلاَّ أَنْ قَالُوا أَخْرِجُوا آلَ لُوط ٍ مِنْ قَرْيَتِكُمْ إِنَّهُمْ أُنَاس ٌ يَتَطَهَّرُونَ |
Fa'anjaynāhu Wa 'Ahlahu 'Illā Amra'atahu Qaddarnāhā Mina Al-Ghābirīna  | So, We delivered him and his family except his wife - about whom We had decreed that she shall be of those who will remain behind[27.57] | فَأَنجَيْنَاه ُُ وَأَهْلَهُ~ُ إِلاَّ امْرَأَتَه ُُ قَدَّرْنَاهَا مِنَ الْغَابِرِينَ |
Wa 'Amţarnā `Alayhim Maţarāan Fasā'a Maţaru Al-Mundharīna  | - and We rained down on them a shower of brimstones, and evil was the rain which fell on those who were forewarned.[27.58] | وَأَمْطَرْنَا عَلَيْهِمْ مَطَرا ً فَسَاءَ مَطَرُ الْمُنذَرِينَ |
Quli Al-Ĥamdu Lillahi Wa Salāmun `Alá `Ibādihi Al-Ladhīna Aşţafá 'Āālllahu Khayrun 'Ammā Yushrikūna  | Say: “Praise be to Allah and peace be on His servants whom He has chosen to deliver His message. Ask them: “ Who is better? Allah or the deities they associate with Him?”[27.59] | قُلِ الْحَمْدُ لِلَّهِ وَسَلاَمٌ عَلَى عِبَادِهِ الَّذِينَ اصْطَفَى آاللَّهُ خَيْرٌ أَمَّا يُشْرِكُونَ |
'Amman Khalaqa As-Samāwāti Wa Al-'Arđa Wa 'Anzala Lakum Mina As-Samā'i Mā'an Fa'anbatnā Bihi Ĥadā'iqa Dhāta Bahjatin Mā Kāna Lakum 'An Tunbitū Shajarahā 'A'ilahun Ma`a Al-Lahi Bal Hum Qawmun Ya`dilūna  | Is not He (Allah), Who has created the heavens and the earth, sends down rain from the sky and with it brings forth the beautiful gardens not better than the false gods that they worship? It is not in your ability to cause the growth of trees for those gardens. Is there another god besides Allah who could do that? No doubt they are a people who have swerved from justice in ascribing equals to Him.[27.60] | أَمَّنْ خَلَقَ السَّمَاوَاتِ وَالأَرْضَ وَأَنزَلَ لَكُمْ مِنَ السَّمَاءِ مَاء ً فَأَنْبَتْنَا بِه ِِ حَدَائِقَ ذَاتَ بَهْجَة ٍ مَا كَانَ لَكُمْ أَنْ تُنْبِتُوا شَجَرَهَا أَءِلَه ٌ ٌ مَعَ اللَّهِ بَلْ هُمْ قَوْم ٌ يَعْدِلُونَ |
'Amman Ja`ala Al-'Arđa Qarārāan Wa Ja`ala Khilālahā 'Anhārāan Wa Ja`ala Lahā Rawāsiya Wa Ja`ala Bayna Al-Baĥrayni Ĥājizāan 'A'ilahun Ma`a Al-Lahi Bal 'Aktharuhum Lā Ya`lamūna  | Just think who has made the earth a place for your residence, caused in it the rivers to flow, set mountains upon it and placed a barrier between the two seas? Is there another god besides Allah? Nay, most of them have no knowledge.[27.61] | أَمَّنْ جَعَلَ الأَرْضَ قَرَارا ً وَجَعَلَ خِلاَلَهَا أَنْهَارا ً وَجَعَلَ لَهَا رَوَاسِيَ وَجَعَلَ بَيْنَ الْبَحْرَيْنِ حَاجِزاً أَءِلَه ٌ ٌ مَعَ اللَّهِ بَلْ أَكْثَرُهُمْ لاَ يَعْلَمُونَ |
'Amman Yujību Al-Muđţarra 'Idhā Da`āhu Wa Yakshifu As-Sū'a Wa Yaj`alukum Khulafā'a Al-'Arđi 'A'ilahun Ma`a Al-Lahi Qalīlāan Mā Tadhakkarūna  | Just think who answers the oppressed person when he cries out to Him and relieves his affliction, and makes you, O mankind, inheritors of the earth? Is there another god besides Allah? How little do you reflect![27.62] | أَمَّنْ يُجِيبُ الْمُضطَرَّ إِذَا دَعَاه ُُ وَيَكْشِفُ السُّوءَ وَيَجْعَلُكُمْ خُلَفَاءَ الأَرْضِ أَءِلَه ٌ ٌ مَعَ اللَّهِ قَلِيلا ً مَا تَذَكَّرُونَ |
'Amman Yahdīkum Fī Žulumāti Al-Barri Wa Al-Baĥri Wa Man Yursilu Ar-Riyāĥa Bushrāan Bayna Yaday Raĥmatihi 'A'ilahun Ma`a Al-Lahi Ta`ālá Al-Lahu `Ammā Yushrikūna  | Just think who guides you in darkness on the land and the sea, and who sends the winds as heralds of good news of His mercy? Is there another god besides Allah? Exalted be Allah above what they associate with Him![27.63] | أَمَّنْ يَهْدِيكُمْ فِي ظُلُمَاتِ الْبَرِّ وَالْبَحْرِ وَمَنْ يُرْسِلُ الرِّيَاحَ بُشْرا ً بَيْنَ يَدَيْ رَحْمَتِهِ~ِ أَءِلَه ٌ ٌ مَعَ اللَّهِ تَعَالَى اللَّهُ عَمَّا يُشْرِكُونَ |
'Amman Yabda'u Al-Khalqa Thumma Yu`īduhu Wa Man Yarzuqukum Mina As-Samā'i Wa Al-'Arđi 'A'ilahun Ma`a Al-Lahi Qul Hātū Burhānakum 'In Kuntum Şādiqīna  | Just think who originates creation and then repeats its production, and who gives you sustenance from the heavens and the earth? Is there another god besides Allah? Say: “Show us your proof if you are telling the truth!”[27.64] | أَمَّنْ يَبْدَأُ الْخَلْقَ ثُمَّ يُعِيدُه ُُ وَمَنْ يَرْزُقُكُمْ مِنَ السَّمَاءِ وَالأَرْضِ أَءِلَه ٌ ٌ مَعَ اللَّهِ قُلْ هَاتُوا بُرْهَانَكُمْ إِنْ كُنتُمْ صَادِقِينَ |
Qul Lā Ya`lamu Man Fī As-Samāwāti Wa Al-'Arđi Al-Ghayba 'Illā Al-Lahu Wa Mā Yash`urūna 'Ayyāna Yub`athūna  | Say: No one in the heavens or in the earth has the knowledge of the unseen except Allah and their gods do not know when they shall be raised to life again.[27.65] | قُلْ لاَ يَعْلَمُ مَنْ فِي السَّمَاوَاتِ وَالأَرْضِ الْغَيْبَ إِلاَّ اللَّهُ وَمَا يَشْعُرُونَ أَيَّانَ يُبْعَثُونَ |
Bal Addāraka `Ilmuhum Fī Al-'Ākhirati Bal Hum Fī Shakkin Minhā Bal Hum Minhā `Amūna  | Their knowledge does not grasp the Hereafter; rather they are in doubt about it; nay, they are blind concerning it![27.66] | بَلْ ادَّارَكَ عِلْمُهُمْ فِي الآخِرَةِ بَلْ هُمْ فِي شَكّ ٍ مِنْهَا بَلْ هُمْ مِنْهَا عَمُونَ |
Wa Qāla Al-Ladhīna Kafarū 'A'idhā Kunnā Turābāan Wa 'Ābā'uunā 'A'innā Lamukhrajūna  | The unbelievers say: “What! When we and our fathers have become dust, shall we really be raised from the dead?[27.67] | وَقَالَ الَّذِينَ كَفَرُوا أَئِذَا كُنَّا تُرَابا ً وَآبَاؤُنَا أَئِنَّا لَمُخْرَجُونَ |
Laqad Wu`idnā Hādhā Naĥnu Wa 'Ābā'uunā Min Qablu 'In Hādhā 'Illā 'Asāţīru Al-'Awwalīna  | This promise which is made to us was also made to our forefathers before us; these are nothing but the legends of primitive people."[27.68] | لَقَدْ وُعِدْنَا هَذَا نَحْنُ وَآبَاؤُنَا مِنْ قَبْلُ إِنْ هَذَا إِلاَّ أَسَاطِيرُ الأَوَّلِينَ |
Qul Sīrū Fī Al-'Arđi Fānžurū Kayfa Kāna `Āqibatu Al-Mujrimīna  | Say: “Travel through the earth and see what has been the end of the criminals."[27.69] | قُلْ سِيرُوا فِي الأَرْضِ فَانظُرُوا كَيْفَ كَانَ عَاقِبَةُ الْمُجْرِمِينَ |
Wa Lā Taĥzan `Alayhim Wa Lā Takun Fī Đayqin Mimmā Yamkurūna  | O Prophet, do not worry about them nor feel distressed because of their plots.[27.70] | وَلاَ تَحْزَنْ عَلَيْهِمْ وَلاَ تَكُنْ فِي ضَيْق ٍ مِمَّا يَمْكُرُونَ |
Wa Yaqūlūna Matá Hādhā Al-Wa`du 'In Kuntum Şādiqīna  | They also say: “When will this promise be fulfilled if what you say be true?”[27.71] | وَيَقُولُونَ مَتَى هَذَا الْوَعْدُ إِنْ كُنتُمْ صَادِقِينَ |
Qul `Asá 'An Yakūna Radifa Lakum Ba`đu Al-Ladhī Tasta`jilūna  | Say: “It may be that a part of what you wish to hasten is near at hand."[27.72] | قُلْ عَسَى أَنْ يَكُونَ رَدِفَ لَكُمْ بَعْضُ الَّذِي تَسْتَعْجِلُونَ |
Wa 'Inna Rabbaka Ladhū Fađlin `Alá An-Nāsi Wa Lakinna 'Aktharahum Lā Yashkurūna  | The fact is that your Rabb is very gracious to mankind: yet most of them are ungrateful.[27.73] | وَإِنَّ رَبَّكَ لَذُو فَضْلٍ عَلَى النَّاسِ وَلَكِنَّ أَكْثَرَهُمْ لاَ يَشْكُرُونَ |
Wa 'Inna Rabbaka Laya`lamu Mā Tukinnu Şudūruhum Wa Mā Yu`linūna  | Indeed your Rabb knows what their breasts conceal and what they reveal.[27.74] | وَإِنَّ رَبَّكَ لَيَعْلَمُ مَا تُكِنُّ صُدُورُهُمْ وَمَا يُعْلِنُونَ |
Wa Mā Min Ghā'ibatin Fī As-Samā'i Wa Al-'Arđi 'Illā Fī Kitābin Mubīnin  | Nor is there any secret in the heaven and the earth which is not recorded in a clear Book.[27.75] | وَمَا مِنْ غَائِبَة ٍ فِي السَّمَاءِ وَالأَرْضِ إِلاَّ فِي كِتَاب ٍ مُبِين ٍ |
'Inna Hādhā Al-Qur'āna Yaquşşu `Alá Banī 'Isrā'īla 'Akthara Al-Ladhī Hum Fīhi Yakhtalifūna  | In fact, this Qur’an clarifies for the Children of Israel most of those matters in which they differ.[27.76] | إِنَّ هَذَا الْقُرْآنَ يَقُصُّ عَلَى بَنِي إِسْرَائِيلَ أَكْثَرَ الَّذِي هُمْ فِيه ِِ يَخْتَلِفُونَ |
Wa 'Innahu Lahudáan Wa Raĥmatun Lilmu'uminīna  | It is certainly a guide and blessing to true believers.[27.77] | وَإِنَّه ُُ لَهُدى ً وَرَحْمَة ٌ لِلْمُؤْمِنِينَ |
'Inna Rabbaka Yaqđī Baynahum Biĥukmihi Wa Huwa Al-`Azīzu Al-`Alīmu  | Surely your Rabb will decide between them by His judgement, He is the All-Mighty, the All-Knowing.[27.78] | إِنَّ رَبَّكَ يَقْضِي بَيْنَهُمْ بِحُكْمِه ِِ وَهُوَ الْعَز |
