Ţā-Sīn-Mīm  | Tuم Sïn M'ïm.[26.1] | طَا-سِين-مِيم |
Tilka 'Āyātu Al-Kitābi Al-Mubīni  | These are verses of the Glorious Book.[26.2] | تِلْكَ آيَاتُ الْكِتَابِ الْمُبِينِ |
La`allaka Bākhi`un Nafsaka 'Allā Yakūnū Mu'uminīna  | O Muhammad, you will perhaps fret yourself to death with grief because they do not believe.[26.3] | لَعَلَّكَ بَاخِع ٌ نَفْسَكَ أَلاَّ يَكُونُوا مُؤْمِنِينَ |
'In Nasha' Nunazzil `Alayhim Mina As-Samā'i 'Āyatan Fažallat 'A`nāquhum Lahā Khāđi`īna  | If We wanted, We could send down upon them a sign from the heaven before which they would bend their necks in submission, but that is not what We want.[26.4] | إِنْ نَشَأْ نُنَزِّلْ عَلَيْهِمْ مِنَ السَّمَاءِ آيَة ً فَظَلَّتْ أَعْنَاقُهُمْ لَهَا خَاضِعِينَ |
Wa Mā Ya'tīhim Min Dhikrin Mina Ar-Raĥmāni Muĥdathin 'Illā Kānū `Anhu Mu`riđīna  | They have been turning their backs on each fresh warning that comes to them from the Compassionate (Allah).[26.5] | وَمَا يَأْتِيهِمْ مِنْ ذِكْر ٍ مِنَ الرَّحْمَنِ مُحْدَث ٍ إِلاَّ كَانُوا عَنْهُ مُعْرِضِينَ |
Faqad Kadhdhabū Fasaya'tīhim 'Anbā'u Mā Kānū Bihi Yastahzi'ūn  | But now that they have neglected the warning, they will soon come to know the reality of what they have been mocking at.[26.6] | فَقَدْ كَذَّبُوا فَسَيَأْتِيهِمْ أَنْبَاءُ مَا كَانُوا بِه ِِ يَسْتَهْزِئُون |
'Awalam Yaraw 'Ilá Al-'Arđi Kam 'Anbatnā Fīhā Min Kulli Zawjin Karīmin  | Have they not looked at the earth to see how We have caused all kinds of noble pairs to grow in it?[26.7] | أَوَلَمْ يَرَوْا إِلَى الأَرْضِ كَمْ أَنْبَتْنَا فِيهَا مِنْ كُلِّ زَوْج ٍ كَرِيم ٍ |
'Inna Fī Dhālika La'āyatan Wa Mā Kāna 'Aktharuhum Mu'uminīna  | Surely in this there is a sign; yet most of them do not believe.[26.8] | إِنَّ فِي ذَلِكَ لَآيَة ً وَمَا كَانَ أَكْثَرُهُمْ مُؤْمِنِينَ |
Wa 'Inna Rabbaka Lahuwa Al-`Azīzu Ar-Raĥīmu  | In fact your Rabb is the Mighty as well as the Merciful.[26.9] | وَإِنَّ رَبَّكَ لَهُوَ الْعَزِيزُ الرَّحِيمُ |
Wa 'Idh Nādá Rabbuka Mūsá 'Ani A'ti Al-Qawma Až-Žālimīna  | Remind them of the story when your Rabb called Musa (Moses) and said: “Go to the wicked people[26.10] | وَإِذْ نَادَى رَبُّكَ مُوسَى أَنِ ائْتِ الْقَوْمَ الظَّالِمِينَ |
Qawma Fir`awna 'Alā Yattaqūna  | the people of Fir'on (Pharaoh). Have they no fear?”[26.11] | قَوْمَ فِرْعَوْنَ أَلاَ يَتَّقُونَ |
Qāla Rabbi 'Innī 'Akhāfu 'An Yukadhdhibūni  | Musa submitted, saying: “My Rabb! I fear that they will reject me.[26.12] | قَالَ رَبِّ إِنِّي أَخَافُ أَنْ يُكَذِّبُونِ |
Wa Yađīqu Şadrī Wa Lā Yanţaliqu Lisānī Fa'arsil 'Ilá Hārūna  | My breast feels cramped and my tongue is not eloquent; send Haroon (Aaron).[26.13] | وَيَضِيقُ صَدْرِي وَلاَ يَنْطَلِقُ لِسَانِي فَأَرْسِلْ إِلَى هَارُونَ |
Wa Lahum `Alayya Dhanbun Fa'akhāfu 'An Yaqtulūni  | They have a charge of manslaughter against me and I fear they may put me to death.”[26.14] | وَلَهُمْ عَلَيَّ ذَنْب ٌ فَأَخَافُ أَنْ يَقْتُلُونِ |
Qāla Kallā Fādh/habā Bi'āyātinā 'Innā Ma`akum Mustami`ūna  | Allah said: “Indeed not! Proceed, both of you, with Our signs; surely We are with you, listening.[26.15] | قَالَ كَلاَّ فَاذْهَبَا بِآيَاتِنَا إِنَّا مَعَكُمْ مُسْتَمِعُونَ |
Fa'tiyā Fir`awna Faqūlā 'Innā Rasūlu Rabbi Al-`Ālamīna  | Go to Fir'on and tell him: "We are the Rasools from the Rabb of the Worlds.[26.16] | فَأْتِيَا فِرْعَوْنَ فَقُولاَ إِنَّا رَسُولُ رَبِّ الْعَالَمِينَ |
'An 'Arsil Ma`anā Banī 'Isrā'īla  | You should send with us the Children of Israel."[26.17] | أَنْ أَرْسِلْ مَعَنَا بَنِي إِسْرَائِيلَ |
Qāla 'Alam Nurabbika Fīnā Walīdāan Wa Labithta Fīnā Min `Umurika Sinīna  | When they went to Fir'on and conveyed the Message of Allah, he said: “Did we not cherish you when you were a child? Did you not stay several years of your life among us?[26.18] | قَالَ أَلَمْ نُرَبِّكَ فِينَا وَلِيدا ً وَلَبِثْتَ فِينَا مِنْ عُمُرِكَ سِنِينَ |
Wa Fa`alta Fa`lataka Allatī Fa`alta Wa 'Anta Mina Al-Kāfirīna  | Then you did what you did; you are so ungrateful!”[26.19] | وَفَعَلْتَ فَعْلَتَكَ الَّتِي فَعَلْتَ وَأَنْتَ مِنَ الْكَافِرِينَ |
Qāla Fa`altuhā 'Idhāan Wa 'Anā Mina Ađ-Đāllīn  | Musa replied: “I did that when I was a misguided youth.[26.20] | قَالَ فَعَلْتُهَا إِذا ً وَأَنَا مِنَ الضَّالِّين |
Fafarartu Minkum Lammā Khiftukum Fawahaba Lī Rabbī Ĥukmāan Wa Ja`alanī Mina Al-Mursalīna  | I fled from you all because I feared you; but now my Rabb has granted me wisdom and appointed me as one of His Rasools.[26.21] | فَفَرَرْتُ مِنْكُمْ لَمَّا خِفْتُكُمْ فَوَهَبَ لِي رَبِّي حُكْما ً وَجَعَلَنِي مِنَ الْمُرْسَلِينَ |
Wa Tilka Ni`matun Tamunnuhā `Alayya 'An `Abbadta Banī 'Isrā'īla  | Is it a favor with which you taunt me, that you have enslaved the Children of Israel?”[26.22] | وَتِلْكَ نِعْمَة ٌ تَمُنُّهَا عَلَيَّ أَنْ عَبَّدْتَ بَنِي إِسْرَائِيلَ |
Qāla Fir`awnu Wa Mā Rabbu Al-`Ālamīna  | Fir'on said: “Who is this Rabb of the Worlds?”[26.23] | قَالَ فِرْعَوْنُ وَمَا رَبُّ الْعَالَمِينَ |
Qāla Rabbu As-Samāwāti Wa Al-'Arđi Wa Mā Baynahumā 'In Kuntum Mūqinīna  | Musa replied: “He is the Rabb of the heavens and the earth and all that lies between them, if you really care to believe.”[26.24] | قَالَ رَبُّ السَّمَاوَاتِ وَالأَرْضِ وَمَا بَيْنَهُمَا إنْ كُنتُمْ مُوقِنِينَ |
Qāla Liman Ĥawlahu 'Alā Tastami`ūna  | Fir'on said to those around him, “Do you hear that?”[26.25] | قَالَ لِمَنْ حَوْلَهُ~ُ أَلاَ تَسْتَمِعُونَ |
Qāla Rabbukum Wa Rabbu 'Ābā'ikumu Al-'Awwalīna  | Musa continued: “He is your Rabb and the Rabb of your forefathers."[26.26] | قَالَ رَبُّكُمْ وَرَبُّ آبَائِكُمُ الأَوَّلِينَ |
Qāla 'Inna Rasūlakumu Al-Ladhī 'Ursila 'Ilaykum Lamajnūnun  | Fir'on interjected: “This Rasool of yours, who has been sent to you, is crazy.”[26.27] | قَالَ إِنَّ رَسُولَكُمُ الَّذِي أُرْسِلَ إِلَيْكُمْ لَمَجْنُون ٌ |
Qāla Rabbu Al-Mashriqi Wa Al-Maghribi Wa Mā Baynahumā 'In Kuntum Ta`qilūna  | Musa continued:“ He is the Rabb of the east and west, and all that lies between them. If you would only care and try to understand." [26.28] | قَالَ رَبُّ الْمَشْرِقِ وَالْمَغْرِبِ وَمَا بَيْنَهُمَا إِنْ كُنْتُمْ تَعْقِلُونَ |
Qāla La'ini Attakhadhta 'Ilahāan Ghayrī La'aj`alannaka Mina Al-Masjūnīna  | At this, Fir'on, who did not want to listen any more said: “If you serve any other god besides me, I shall have you thrown into prison."[26.29] | قَالَ لَئِنِ اتَّخَذْتَ إِلَهَاً غَيْرِي لَأَجْعَلَنَّكَ مِنَ الْمَسْجُونِينَ |
Qāla 'Awalaw Ji'tuka Bishay'in Mubīnin  | At this, Musa said: “What if I show you a convincing sign?”[26.30] | قَالَ أَوَلَوْ جِئْتُكَ بِشَيْء ٍ مُبِين ٍ |
Qāla Fa'ti Bihi 'In Kunta Mina Aş-Şādiqīna  | Fir'on said: “Go ahead, show it if you are of the truthful."[26.31] | قَالَ فَأْتِ بِهِ~ِ إِنْ كُنْتَ مِنَ الصَّادِقِينَ |
Fa'alqá `Aşāhu Fa'idhā Hiya Thu`bānun Mubīnun  | Hearing this, Musa threw down his staff, and thereupon it changed into a veritable serpent.[26.32] | فَأَلْقَى عَصَاه ُُ فَإِذَا هِيَ ثُعْبَان ٌ مُبِين ٌ |
Wa Naza`a Yadahu Fa'idhā Hiya Bayđā'u Lilnnāžirīna  | Then he drew forth his hand and it became shining bright for the spectators.[26.33] | وَنَزَعَ يَدَه ُُ فَإِذَا هِيَ بَيْضَاءُ لِلنَّاظِرِينَ |
Qāla Lilmala'i Ĥawlahu 'Inna Hādhā Lasāĥirun `Alīmun  | After witnessing both the miracles, Fir'on (Pharaoh) said to the chiefs around him: “This fellow is certainly a skilled magician,[26.34] | قَالَ لِلْمَلَإِ حَوْلَهُ~ُ إِنَّ هَذَا لَسَاحِرٌ عَلِيم ٌ |
Yurīdu 'An Yukhrijakum Min 'Arđikum Bisiĥrihi Famādhā Ta'murūna  | who seeks to drive you out from your land by the force of his magic. Now what is your advice?”[26.35] | يُرِيدُ أَنْ يُخْرِجَكُمْ مِنْ أَرْضِكُمْ بِسِحْرِه ِِ فَمَاذَا تَأْمُرُونَ |
Qālū 'Arjihi Wa 'Akhāhu Wa Ab`ath Fī Al-Madā'ini Ĥāshirīna  | They submitted: “Put him and his brother off for a while, and dispatch heralds to the various cities[26.36] | قَالُوا أَرْجِه ِِ وَأَخَاه ُُ وَابْعَثْ فِي الْمَدَائِنِ حَاشِرِينَ |
Ya'tūka Bikulli Saĥĥārin `Alīmin  | to bring you every skilled magician."[26.37] | يَأْتُوكَ بِكُلِّ سَحَّارٍ عَلِيم ٍ |
Fajumi`a As-Saĥaratu Limīqāti Yawmin Ma`lūmin  | So the magicians were brought together at the appointed time on a fixed day.[26.38] | فَجُمِعَ السَّحَرَةُ لِمِيقَاتِ يَوْم ٍ مَعْلُوم ٍ |
Wa Qīla Lilnnāsi Hal 'Antum Mujtami`ūna  | The people were motivated through saying: “Would you come to the gathering?[26.39] | وَقِيلَ لِلنَّاسِ هَلْ أَنْتُمْ مُجْتَمِعُونَ |
La`allanā Nattabi`u As-Saĥarata 'In Kānū Humu Al-Ghālibīna  | So that we may follow the magicians if they are dominant.”[26.40] | لَعَلَّنَا نَتَّبِعُ السَّحَرَةَ إِنْ كَانُوا هُمُ الْغَالِبِينَ |
Falammā Jā'a As-Saĥaratu Qālū Lifir`awna 'A'inna Lanā La'ajrāan 'In Kunnā Naĥnu Al-Ghālibīna  | When the magicians arrived, they asked Fir'on: “Shall we get a reward if we are dominant?”[26.41] | فَلَمَّا جَاءَ السَّحَرَةُ قَالُوا لِفِرْعَوْنَ أَئِنَّ لَنَا لَأَجْرا ً إِنْ كُنَّا نَحْنُ الْغَالِبِينَ |
Qāla Na`am Wa 'Innakum 'Idhāan Lamina Al-Muqarrabīna  | Fir'on replied: “Yes of course! You will even be made my courtiers."[26.42] | قَالَ نَعَمْ وَإِنَّكُمْ إِذا ً لَمِنَ الْمُقَرَّبِينَ |
Qāla Lahum Mūsá 'Alqū Mā 'Antum Mulqūna  | Musa said to them: “Cast down what you are going to cast."[26.43] | قَالَ لَهُمْ مُوسَى أَلْقُوا مَا أَنْتُمْ مُلْقُونَ |
Fa'alqaw Ĥibālahum Wa `Işīyahum Wa Qālū Bi`izzati Fir`awna 'Innā Lanaĥnu Al-Ghālibūna  | Thereupon they cast down their ropes and staffs, saying: “By the glory of Fir'on, we shall be the winners."[26.44] | فَأَلْقَوْا حِبَالَهُمْ وَعِصِيَّهُمْ وَقَالُوا بِعِزَّةِ فِرْعَوْنَ إِنَّا لَنَحْنُ الْغَالِبُونَ |
Fa'alqá Mūsá `Aşāhu Fa'idhā Hiya Talqafu Mā Ya'fikūna  | Then Musa threw down his staff, and lo! It swallowed their false devices.[26.45] | فَأَلْقَى مُوسَى عَصَاه ُُ فَإِذَا هِيَ تَلْقَفُ مَا يَأْفِكُونَ |
Fa'ulqiya As-Saĥaratu Sājidīna  | At this, all the magicians prostrated themselves,[26.46] | فَأُلْقِيَ السَّحَرَةُ سَاجِدِينَ |
Qālū 'Āmannā Birabbi Al-`Ālamīna  | saying: “We believe in the Rabb of the Worlds,[26.47] | قَالُوا آمَنَّا بِرَبِّ الْعَالَمِينَ |
Rabbi Mūsá Wa Hārūna  | the Rabb of Musa (Moses) and Haroon (Aaron)."[26.48] | رَبِّ مُوسَى وَهَارُونَ |
Qāla 'Āmantum Lahu Qabla 'An 'Ādhana Lakum 'Innahu Lakabīrukumu Al-Ladhī `Allamakumu As-Siĥra Falasawfa Ta`lamūna La'uqaţţi`anna 'Aydiyakum Wa 'Arjulakum Min Khilāfin Wa La'uşallibannakum 'Ajma`īna  | Fir'on shouted: “How dare you believe in him before I give you permission? He must be your master who taught you the witchcraft. But soon you shall find out. I will cut off your hands and your feet on opposite sides and crucify you all."[26.49] | قَالَ آمَنْتُمْ لَه ُُ قَبْلَ أَنْ آذَنَ لَكُمْ إِنَّه ُُ لَكَبِيرُكُمُ الَّذِي عَلَّمَكُمُ السِّحْرَ فَلَسَوْفَ تَعْلَمُونَ لَأُقَطِّعَنَّ أَيْدِيَكُمْ وَأَرْجُلَكُمْ مِنْ خِلاَف ٍ وَلَأُصَلِّبَنَّكُمْ أَجْمَعِينَ |
Qālū Lā Đayra 'Innā 'Ilá Rabbinā Munqalibūna  | They replied: “We don’t care! We are going to return to our Rabb anyway.[26.50] | قَالُوا لاَ ضَيْرَ إِنَّا إِلَى رَبِّنَا مُنْقَلِبُونَ |
'Innā Naţma`u 'An Yaghfira Lanā Rabbunā Khaţāyānā 'An Kunnā 'Awwala Al-Mu'uminīna  | We only desire that our Rabb may forgive us our sins, as we are the first to believe."[26.51] | إِنَّا نَطْمَعُ أَنْ يَغْفِرَ لَنَا رَبُّنَا خَطَايَانَا أَنْ كُنَّا أَوَّلَ الْمُؤْمِنِينَ |
Wa 'Awĥaynā 'Ilá Mūsá 'An 'Asri Bi`ibādī 'Innakum Muttaba`ūna  | We revealed to Musa (Moses), saying: “Set off with my servants by night and beware that you will be pursued."[26.52] | وَأَوْحَيْنَا إِلَى مُوسَى أَنْ أَسْرِ بِعِبَادِي إِنَّكُمْ مُتَّبَعُونَ |
Fa'arsala Fir`awnu Fī Al-Madā'ini Ĥāshirīna  | Fir'on (Pharaoh) sent heralds to all the cities,[26.53] | فَأَرْسَلَ فِرْعَوْنُ فِي الْمَدَائِنِ حَاشِرِينَ |
'Inna Hā'uulā' Lashirdhimatun Qalīlūna  | and to mobilize his people he said: “These Israelites are but a handful of people,[26.54] | إِنَّ هَاؤُلاَء لَشِرْذِمَة ٌ قَلِيلُونَ |
Wa 'Innahum Lanā Laghā'ižūna  | who have provoked us much;[26.55] | وَإِنَّهُمْ لَنَا لَغَائِظُونَ |
Wa 'Innā Lajamī`un Ĥādhirūna  | while we have a large army, well prepared."[26.56] | وَإِنَّا لَجَمِيعٌ حَاذِرُونَ |
Fa'akhrajnāhum Min Jannātin Wa `Uyūnin  | Thus did We make them leave their gardens and their water springs,[26.57] | فَأَخْرَجْنَاهُمْ مِنْ جَنَّات ٍ وَعُيُون ٍ |
Wa Kunūzin Wa Maqāmin Karīmin  | their treasures and sumptuous dwellings.[26.58] | وَكُنُوز ٍ وَمَقَام ٍ كَرِيم ٍ |
Kadhālika Wa 'Awrathnāhā Banī 'Isrā'īla  | This is how they were made to lose, while on the other hand We made the Children of Israel inheritors of such things.[26.59] | كَذَلِكَ وَأَوْرَثْنَاهَا بَنِي إِسْرَائِيلَ |
Fa'atba`ūhum Mushriqīna  | At sunrise the Egyptians pursued them.[26.60] | فَأَتْبَعُوهُمْ مُشْرِقِينَ |
Falammā Tarā'á Al-Jam`āni Qāla 'Aşĥābu Mūsá 'Innā Lamudrakūna  | When the two hosts came face to face, the companions of Musa cried out: “We are surely overtaken."[26.61] | فَلَمَّا تَرَاءَى الْجَمْعَانِ قَالَ أَصْحَابُ مُوسَى إِنَّا لَمُدْرَكُونَ |
Qāla Kallā 'Inna Ma`iya Rabbī Sayahdīni  | Musa said: “Not at all! My Rabb is with me; He will show me a way out.”[26.62] | قَالَ كَلاَّ إِنَّ مَعِيَ رَبِّي سَيَهْدِينِ |
Fa'awĥaynā 'Ilá Mūsá 'Ani Ađrib Bi`aşāka Al-Baĥra Fānfalaqa Fakāna Kullu Firqin Kālţţawdi Al-`Ažīmi  | Then We revealed Our will to Musa: "Strike the sea with your staff," and the sea was cleft asunder, each part stood like a mighty mountain.[26.63] | فَأَوْحَيْنَا إِلَى مُوسَى أَنِ اضْرِبْ بِعَصَاكَ الْبَحْرَ فَانفَلَقَ فَكَانَ كُلُّ فِرْق ٍ كَالطَّوْدِ الْعَظِيمِ |
Wa 'Azlafnā Thamma Al-'Ākharīna  | We made the other party (Fir'on and his army) follow them.[26.64] | وَأَزْلَفْنَا ثَمَّ الآخَرِينَ |
Wa 'Anjaynā Mūsá Wa Man Ma`ahu 'Ajma`īna  | We delivered Musa and all who were with him;[26.65] | وَأَنْجَيْنَا مُوسَى وَمَنْ مَعَهُ~ُ أَجْمَعِينَ |
Thumma 'Aghraqnā Al-'Ākharīna  | and drowned the others.[26.66] | ثُمَّ أَغْرَقْنَا الآخَرِينَ |
'Inna Fī Dhālika La'āyatan Wa Mā Kāna 'Aktharuhum Mu'uminīna  | Surely there is a lesson in this: yet most of these people do not learn this lesson to become believers.[26.67] | إِنَّ فِي ذَلِكَ لَآيَة ً وَمَا كَانَ أَكْثَرُهُمْ مُؤْمِنِينَ |
Wa 'Inna Rabbaka Lahuwa Al-`Azīzu Ar-Raĥīmu  | The fact is that your Rabb is the Mighty as well as the Merciful.[26.68] | وَإِنَّ رَبَّكَ لَهُوَ الْعَزِيزُ الرَّحِيمُ |
Wa Atlu `Alayhim Naba'a 'Ibrāhīma  | Narrate to them the story of Ibrمhïm,[26.69] | وَاتْلُ عَلَيْهِمْ نَبَأَ إِبْرَاهِيمَ |
'Idh Qāla Li'abīhi Wa Qawmihi Mā Ta`budūna  | when he asked his father and his people: “What is that which you worship?”[26.70] | إِذْ قَالَ لِأَبِيه ِِ وَقَوْمِه ِِ مَا تَعْبُدُونَ |
Qālū Na`budu 'Aşnāmāan Fanažallu Lahā `Ākifīna  | They replied: “We worship idols, and sit beside them with all devotion."[26.71] | قَالُوا نَعْبُدُ أَصْنَاما ً فَنَظَلُّ لَهَا عَاكِفِينَ |
Qāla Hal Yasma`ūnakum 'Idh Tad`ūna  | Ibrمhïm asked: “Do they hear you when you call on them?[26.72] | قَالَ هَلْ يَسْمَعُونَكُمْ إِذْ تَدْعُونَ |
'Aw Yanfa`ūnakum 'Aw Yađurrūna  | Can they help you or harm you?”[26.73] | أَوْ يَنْفَعُونَكُمْ أَوْ يَضُرُّونَ |
Qālū Bal Wajadnā 'Ābā'anā Kadhālika Yaf`alūna  | They replied: “No! But we found our forefathers doing so."[26.74] | قَالُوا بَلْ وَجَدْنَا آبَاءَنَا كَذَلِكَ يَفْعَلُونَ |
Qāla 'Afara'aytum Mā Kuntum Ta`budūna  | Ibrمhïm said: “Have you ever seen with open eyes these which you have been worshipping[26.75] | قَالَ أَفَرَأَيْتُمْ مَا كُنْتُمْ تَعْبُدُونَ |
'Antum Wa 'Ābā'uukumu Al-'Aqdamūna  | - you and your forefathers?[26.76] | أَنْتُمْ وَآبَاؤُكُمُ الأَقْدَمُونَ |
Fa'innahum `Adūwun Lī 'Illā Rabba Al-`Ālamīna  | They are all enemies to me; except the Rabb of the Worlds,[26.77] | فَإِنَّهُمْ عَدُوّ ٌ لِي إِلاَّ رَبَّ الْعَالَمِينَ |
Al-Ladhī Khalaqanī Fahuwa Yahdīni  | Who created me, then He gave me guidance.[26.78] | الَّذِي خَلَقَنِي فَهُوَ يَهْدِينِ |
Wa Al-Ladhī Huwa Yuţ`imunī Wa Yasqīni  | He is the One Who gives me food and drink,[26.79] | وَالَّذِي هُوَ يُطْعِمُنِي وَيَسْقِينِ |
Wa 'Idhā Mariđtu Fahuwa Yashfīni  | Who gives me health when I get sick,[26.80] | وَإِذَا مَرِضْتُ فَهُوَ يَشْفِينِ |
Wa Al-Ladhī Yumītunī Thumma Yuĥyīni  | Who will cause me to die and then bring me back to life,[26.81] | وَالَّذِي يُمِيتُنِي ثُمَّ يُحْيِينِ |
Wa Al-Ladhī 'Aţma`u 'An Yaghfira Lī Khaţī'atī Yawma Ad-Dīni  | Who, I hope, will forgive me my mistakes on the Day of Judgment."[26.82] | وَالَّذِي أَطْمَعُ أَنْ يَغْفِرَ لِي خَطِيئَتِي يَوْمَ الدِّينِ |
Rabbi Hab Lī Ĥukmāan Wa 'Alĥiqnī Biş-Şāliĥīna  | After this, Ibrمhïm prayed: “O my Rabb! Bestow wisdom upon me and admit me among the righteous,[26.83] | رَبِّ هَبْ لِي حُكْما ً وَأَلْحِقْنِي بِالصَّالِحِينَ |
Wa Aj`al Lī Lisāna Şidqin Fī Al-'Ākhirīna  | grant me a reputation of truthfulness on the tongue of later generations,[26.84] | وَاجْعَلْ لِي لِسَانَ صِدْق ٍ فِي الآخِرِينَ |
Wa Aj`alnī Min Warathati Jannati An-Na`īmi  | count me among the inheritors of the paradise of Bliss;[26.85] | وَاجْعَلْنِي مِنْ وَرَثَةِ جَنَّةِ النَّعِيمِ |
Wa Aghfir Li'abī 'Innahu Kāna Mina Ađ-Đāllīna  | forgive my father, for he is from among those who have gone astray,[26.86] | وَاغْفِرْ لِأَبِي إِنَّه ُُ كَانَ مِنَ الضَّالِّينَ |
Wa Lā Tukhzinī Yawma Yub`athūna  | do not hold me up in shame on the Day when everybody will be raised back to life[26.87] | وَلاَ تُخْزِنِي يَوْمَ يُبْعَثُونَ |
Yawma Lā Yanfa`u Mālun Wa Lā Banūna  | - the Day when neither wealth nor sons will avail anyone,[26.88] | يَوْمَ لاَ يَنْفَعُ مَال ٌ وَلاَ بَنُونَ |
'Illā Man 'Atá Al-Laha Biqalbin Salīmin  | and when none shall be saved except him who will come before Allah with a pure heart,[26.89] | إِلاَّ مَنْ أَتَى اللَّهَ بِقَلْب ٍ سَلِيم ٍ |
Wa 'Uzlifati Al-Jannatu Lilmuttaqīna  | when paradise shall be brought in the sight of the righteous;[26.90] | وَأُزْلِفَتِ الْجَنَّةُ لِلْمُتَّقِينَ |
Wa Burrizati Al-Jaĥīmu Lilghāwīna  | while hell shall be spread open to the straying[26.91] | وَبُرِّزَتِ الْجَحِيمُ لِلْغَاوِينَ |
Wa Qīla Lahum 'Ayna Mā Kuntum Ta`budūna  | and they will be asked: "Now, where are those whom you worshipped[26.92] | وَقِيلَ لَهُمْ أَيْنَ مَا كُنْتُمْ تَعْبُدُونَ |
Min Dūni Al-Lahi Hal Yanşurūnakum 'Aw Yantaşirūna  | besides Allah? Can they help you or even help themselves?”[26.93] | مِنْ دُونِ اللَّهِ هَلْ يَنْصُرُونَكُمْ أَوْ يَنْتَصِرُونَ |
Fakubkibū Fīhā Hum Wa Al-Ghāwūna  | Then they will be toppled into it, both they and those who misled them,[26.94] | فَكُبْكِبُوا فِيهَا هُمْ وَالْغَاوُونَ |
Wa Junūdu 'Iblīsa 'Ajma`ūna  | together with all the armies of Iblees,[26.95] | وَجُنُودُ إِبْلِيسَ أَجْمَعُونَ |
Qālū Wa Hum Fīhā Yakhtaşimūna  | wherein they will argue with one another[26.96] | قَالُوا وَهُمْ فِيهَا يَخْتَصِمُونَ |
Ta-Allāhi 'In Kunnā Lafī Đalālin Mubīnin  | saying: “ By Allah, we were indeed in manifest error,[26.97] | تَاللَّهِ إِنْ كُنَّا لَفِي ضَلاَل ٍ مُبِين ٍ |
'Idh Nusawwīkum Birabbi Al-`Ālamīna  | when we made you equals with the Rabb of the Worlds.[26.98] | إِذْ نُسَوِّيكُمْ بِرَبِّ الْعَالَمِينَ |
Wa Mā 'Ađallanā 'Illā Al-Mujrimūna  | It was the criminals who led us astray.[26.99] | وَمَا أَضَلَّنَا إِلاَّ الْمُجْرِمُونَ |
Famā Lanā Min Shāfi`īna  | Now we have no intercessors,[26.100] | فَمَا لَنَا مِنْ شَافِعِينَ |
Wa Lā Şadīqin Ĥamīmin  | and no loving friends.[26.101] | وَلاَ صَدِيقٍ حَمِيم ٍ |
Falaw 'Anna Lanā Karratan Fanakūna Mina Al-Mu'uminīna  | If we could but once return to our worldly life, we would be of the true believers."[26.102] | فَلَوْ أَنَّ لَنَا كَرَّة ً فَنَكُونَ مِنَ الْمُؤْمِنِينَ |
'Inna Fī Dhālika La'āyatan Wa Mā Kāna 'Aktharuhum Mu'uminīna  | Surely in this narration there is a great lesson, but most of these people do not learn a lesson to become believers.[26.103] | إِنَّ فِي ذَلِكَ لَآيَة ً وَمَا كَانَ أَكْثَرُهُمْ مُؤْمِنِينَ |
Wa 'Inna Rabbaka Lahuwa Al-`Azīzu Ar-Raĥīmu  | The fact is that your Rabb is the Mighty as well as the Merciful.[26.104] | وَإِنَّ رَبَّكَ لَهُوَ الْعَزِيزُ الرَّحِيمُ |
Kadhdhabat Qawmu Nūĥin Al-Mursalīna  | The people of Nüh, also, rejected the Rasools.[26.105] | كَذَّبَتْ قَوْمُ نُوح ٍ الْمُرْسَلِينَ |
'Idh Qāla Lahum 'Akhūhum Nūĥun 'Alā Tattaqūna  | Remember when their brother Nüh asked them: “Have you no fear of Allah?[26.106] | إِذْ قَالَ لَهُمْ أَخُوهُمْ نُوحٌ أَلاَ تَتَّقُونَ |
'Innī Lakum Rasūlun 'Amīnun  | Rest assured that I am a trustworthy Rasool of Allah towards you,[26.107] | إِنِّي لَكُمْ رَسُولٌ أَمِين ٌ |
Fāttaqū Al-Laha Wa 'Aţī`ūni  | so fear Allah and obey me.[26.108] | فَاتَّقُوا اللَّهَ وَأَطِيعُونِ |
Wa Mā 'As'alukum `Alayhi Min 'Ajrin 'In 'Ajrī 'Illā `Alá Rabbi Al-`Ālamīna  | I do not ask you for any reward for my services, for my reward will be given by the Rabb of the Worlds,[26.109] | وَمَا أَسْأَلُكُمْ عَلَيْهِ مِنْ أَجْر ٍ إِنْ أَجْرِي إِلاَّ عَلَى رَبِّ الْعَالَمِينَ |
Fāttaqū Al-Laha Wa 'Aţī`ūni  | so fear Allah and obey me."[26.110] | فَاتَّقُوا اللَّهَ وَأَطِيعُونِ |
Qālū 'Anu'uminu Laka Wa Attaba`aka Al-'Ardhalūna  | They replied: “Should we believe in you, whereas your followers are but the lowest of the low?”[26.111] | قَالُوا أَنُؤْمِنُ لَكَ وَاتَّبَعَكَ الأَرْذَلُونَ |
Qāla Wa Mā `Ilmī Bimā Kānū Ya`malūna  | He said: “I have no knowledge as to what they have been doing;[26.112] | قَالَ وَمَا عِلْمِي بِمَا كَانُوا يَعْمَلُونَ |
'In Ĥisābuhum 'Illā `Alá Rabbī Law Tash`urūna  | their account is the concern of my Rabb, if you could use your common sense![26.113] | إِنْ حِسَابُهُمْ إِلاَّ عَلَى رَبِّي لَوْ تَشْعُرُونَ |
Wa Mā 'Anā Biţāridi Al-Mu'uminīna  | I am not going to drive away any believer.[26.114] | وَمَا أَنَا بِطَارِدِ الْمُؤْمِنِينَ |
'In 'Anā 'Illā Nadhīrun Mubīnun  | I am nothing but a plain Warner."[26.115] | إِنْ أَنَا إِلاَّ نَذِير ٌ مُبِين ٌ |
Qālū La'in Lam Tantahi Yā Nūĥu Latakūnanna Mina Al-Marjūmīna  | They said: “O Nüh! If you do not stop, you shall be stoned to death."[26.116] | قَالُوا لَئِنْ لَمْ تَنْتَه ِِ يَانُوحُ لَتَكُونَنَّ مِنَ الْمَرْجُومِينَ |
Qāla Rabbi 'Inna Qawmī Kadhdhabūni  | Nüh prayed: “O Rabb! My people have disobeyed me.[26.117] | قَالَ رَبِّ إِنَّ قَوْمِي كَذَّبُونِ |
Fāftaĥ Baynī Wa Baynahum Fatĥāan Wa Najjinī Wa Man Ma`ī Mina Al-Mu'uminīna  | Decide the case between me and them openly. Deliver me and the believers who are with me."[26.118] | فَافْتَحْ بَيْنِي وَبَيْنَهُمْ فَتْحا ً وَنَجِّنِي وَمَنْ مَعِي مِنَ الْمُؤْمِنِينَ |
Fa'anjaynāhu Wa Man Ma`ahu Fī Al-Fulki Al-Mashĥūni  | So We granted his prayer, delivered him and those with him in the laden ark,[26.119] | فَأَنجَيْنَاه ُُ وَمَنْ مَعَه ُُ فِي الْفُلْكِ الْمَشْحُونِ |
Thumma 'Aghraqnā Ba`du Al-Bāqīna  | and drowned the rest in the flood.[26.120] | ثُمَّ أَغْرَقْنَا بَعْدُ الْبَاقِينَ |
'Inna Fī Dhālika La'āyatan Wa Mā Kāna 'Aktharuhum Mu'uminīna  | Surely in this story there is a great lesson, but most of these people do not learn a lesson and become believers.[26.121] | إِنَّ فِي ذَلِكَ لَآيَة ً وَمَا كَانَ أَكْثَرُهُمْ مُؤْمِنِينَ |
Wa 'Inna Rabbaka Lahuwa Al-`Azīzu Ar-Raĥīmu  | The fact is that your Rabb is the Mighty as well as the Merciful.[26.122] | وَإِنَّ رَبَّكَ لَهُوَ الْعَزِيزُ الرَّحِيمُ |
Kadhdhabat `Ādun Al-Mursalīna  | The people of 'Ad, too, disbelieved their Rasools.[26.123] | كَذَّبَتْ عَاد ٌ الْمُرْسَلِينَ |
'Idh Qāla Lahum 'Akhūhum Hūdun 'Alā Tattaqūna  | Remember when their brother Hüd asked them: “Have you no fear of Allah?[26.124] | إِذْ قَالَ لَهُمْ أَخُوهُمْ هُودٌ أَلاَ تَتَّقُونَ |
'Innī Lakum Rasūlun 'Amīnun  | Rest assured that I am a trustworthy Rasool of Allah towards you.[26.125] | إِنِّي لَكُمْ رَسُولٌ أَمِين ٌ |
Fāttaqū Al-Laha Wa 'Aţī`ūni  | So fear Allah and obey me.[26.126] | فَاتَّقُوا اللَّهَ وَأَطِيعُونِ |
Wa Mā 'As'alukum `Alayhi Min 'Ajrin 'In 'Ajrī 'Illā `Alá Rabbi Al-`Ālamīna  | I do not ask you any reward for my services, for my reward will be given by the Rabb of the Worlds.[26.127] | وَمَا أَسْأَلُكُمْ عَلَيْهِ مِنْ أَجْر ٍ إِنْ أَجْرِي إِلاَّ عَلَى رَبِّ الْعَالَمِينَ |
'Atabnūna Bikulli Rī`in 'Āyatan Ta`bathūna  | Are you erecting a monument on every high place for fun?[26.128] | أَتَبْنُونَ بِكُلِّ رِيع ٍ آيَة ً تَعْبَثُونَ |
Wa Tattakhidhūna Maşāni`a La`allakum Takhludūna  | Are you building strong fortresses as if you are going to live here forever?[26.129] | وَتَتَّخِذُونَ مَصَانِعَ لَعَلَّكُمْ تَخْلُدُونَ |
Wa 'Idhā Baţashtum Baţashtum Jabbārīna  | Whenever you lay your hands on anyone, you act like cruel tyrants.[26.130] | وَإِذَا بَطَشْتُمْ بَطَشْتُمْ جَبَّارِينَ |
Fāttaqū Al-Laha Wa 'Aţī`ūni  | Have fear of Allah and obey me.[26.131] | فَاتَّقُوا اللَّهَ وَأَطِيعُونِ |
Wa Attaqū Al-Ladhī 'Amaddakum Bimā Ta`lamūna  | Fear the One Who has given you all the things that you know.[26.132] | وَاتَّقُوا الَّذِي أَمَدَّكُمْ بِمَا تَعْلَمُونَ |
'Amaddakum Bi'an`āmin Wa Banīna  | He has given you flocks and children,[26.133] | |
