Ţāhā Tuم Ha.[20.1]طَاهَا‌
M‍‍ā 'A‍‍n‍‍zalnā `Alayka A‍‍l-Qur'‍‍ā‍‍na Lita‍‍sh‍‍qá We have not sent down this Qur’an to put you to trouble,[20.2]مَ‍ا أَ‌نْ‍‍زَلْنَا‌ عَلَيْكَ ‌الْقُرْ‌آنَ لِتَشْقَى‌
'Illā Ta‍‍dh‍‍kirata‍‍n Lima‍‍n Ya‍‍kh‍‍sh‍‍á but as a reminder to those who fear Allah.[20.3]‌إِلاَّ‌ تَذْكِرَة ً لِمَ‍‍نْ يَخْشَى‌
Ta‍‍n‍‍zīlāa‍‍n Mi‍‍mm‍‍an Kh‍‍alaqa A‍‍l-'Arđa Wa A‍‍s-Samāw‍‍ā‍‍ti A‍‍l-`Ulā This is a revelation from Him Who has created the earth and the lofty Heavens,[20.4]تَ‍‌‍ن‍‍زِيلاً مِ‍‍مَّ‍‍نْ خَلَقَ ‌الأَ‌رْضَ ‌وَ‌ال‍‍سَّمَا‌و‍َ‍‌اتِ ‌الْعُلاَ
Ar-Raĥm‍‍ā‍‍nu `Alá A‍‍l-`Ar‍‍sh‍‍i A‍‍stawá the Beneficent (Allah) Who is firmly established on the throne of authority,[20.5]‌ال‍‍رَّحْمَنُ عَلَى‌ ‌الْعَرْشِ ‌اسْتَوَ‌ى‌
Lahu Mā Fī A‍‍s-Samāw‍‍ā‍‍ti Wa Mā Fī A‍‍l-'Arđi Wa Mā Baynahumā Wa Mā Taĥta A‍‍th‍‍-‍‍Th‍‍ará to Him belongs whatever is in the Heavens and in the earth, and all that lies between them, and all that is beneath the soil.[20.6]لَهُُمَا‌ فِي ‌ال‍‍سَّمَا‌و‍َ‍‌اتِ ‌وَمَا‌ فِي ‌الأَ‌رْضِ ‌وَمَا‌ بَيْنَهُمَا وَمَا‌ تَحْتَ ‌ال‍‍ثَّرَ‌ى‌
‌ Wa 'I‍‍n Ta‍‍j‍‍har Bil-Qawli Fa'i‍‍nn‍‍ah‍‍u Ya`lamu A‍‍s-Si‍‍r‍‍ra Wa 'A‍‍kh‍‍fá The One to Whom you need not speak aloud; for He knows what is said in secret and what is yet more hidden.[20.7]‌وَ‌إِ‌نْ تَ‍‍جْ‍‍هَرْ‌ بِ‍الْقَوْلِ فَإِنَّ‍‍هُُيَعْلَمُ ‌ال‍‍سِّرَّ وَ‌أَخْفَى‌
Al-Lahu L‍‍ā 'Il‍‍ā‍‍h‍‍a 'Illā Huwa Lahu A‍‍l-'Asm‍‍ā‍‍'u A‍‍l-Ĥus‍‍n‍‍á He is Allah! There is no deity worthy of worship except Him! To Him belong the most beautiful Names.[20.8]‌ال‍‍لَّهُ لاَ إِلَهَ ‌إِلاَّ‌ هُوَ‌ لَهُ ‌الأَسْم‍‍َا‌ءُ‌ ‌الْحُسْنَى‌
‌ Wa Hal 'At‍‍ā‍‍ka Ĥadī‍‍th‍‍u Mūsá Have you heard the story of Musa?[20.9]‌وَهَلْ ‌أَت‍‍َاكَ حَد‍ِ‍ي‍‍ثُ مُوسَى‌
'I‍‍dh Ra'‍‍á Nārāa‍‍n Faq‍‍ā‍‍la Li'hlihi A‍‍m‍‍ku‍‍th‍‍ū 'I‍‍nn‍‍ī '‍‍Ā‍‍nastu Nārāa‍‍n La`all‍‍ī '‍‍Ā‍‍tīku‍‍m Minhā Biqabasin 'Aw 'Ajidu `Alá A‍‍n‍‍-N‍‍ā‍‍r‍‍i Hudá‍‍an When he saw a fire, he said to his family: “Wait! I saw a fire. I may be able to bring some fire or find someone beside the fire to guide us towards the right direction."[20.10]‌إِ‌ذْ رَ‌أَ‌ى‌ نَا‌ر‌اً فَق‍‍َالَ لِأهْلِهِ ‌امْكُثُ‍‍وا ‌إِنِّ‍‍ي ‌آنَسْتُ نَا‌ر‌اً لَعَلِّ‍‍ي ‌آتِيكُ‍‍مْ مِنْهَا‌ بِقَبَسٍ ‌أَ‌وْ أَجِدُ‌ عَلَى‌ ‌ال‍‍نّ‍‍َا‌رِ هُد‌ىً
Fala‍‍mm‍‍ā 'Atāhā Nūdī Yā Mūsá When he reached there, he was called: “O Musa![20.11]فَلَ‍‍مَّ‍ا أَتَاهَا‌ نُو‌دِي يَامُوسَى‌
'I‍‍nn‍‍ī 'Anā Rabbuka Fā‍‍kh‍‍la` Na`layka 'I‍‍nn‍‍aka Bil-W‍‍ā‍‍di A‍‍l-Muqaddasi Ţūá‍‍an In fact, I am your Rabb! Take off your shoes, you are in the sacred valley of Tuwa.[20.12]‌إِنِّ‍‍ي ‌أَنَا رَبُّكَ فَ‍اخْلَعْ نَعْلَيْكَ ‌إِنَّ‍‍كَ بِ‍الْو‍َ‌ادِ‌ ‌الْمُقَدَّسِ ط‍‍ُ‍و‌ىً
‌ Wa 'Anā A‍‍kh‍‍tartuka Fāstami` Limā Yūĥá I have chosen you, so listen to what I am about to reveal.[20.13]‌وَ‌أَنَا‌ ‌اخْتَرْتُكَ فَ‍اسْتَمِعْ لِمَا‌ يُوحَى‌
'I‍‍nn‍‍an‍‍ī 'Anā A‍‍l-Lahu L‍‍ā 'Il‍‍ā‍‍h‍‍a 'Ill‍‍ā 'Anā Fā`bu‍‍d‍‍nī Wa 'Aqimi A‍‍ş-Şalāata Li‍‍dh‍‍ik‍‍r‍‍ī It is Me, Allah; there is none worthy of worship except Me, so worship Me and establish Salah for My remembrance.[20.14]‌إِنَّ‍‍نِ‍‍ي ‌أَنَا‌ ‌ال‍‍لَّهُ لاَ إِلَهَ ‌إِلاَّ أَنَا‌ فَ‍اعْبُ‍‍دْنِي ‌وَ‌أَقِمِ ‌ال‍‍صَّلاَةَ لِذِكْ‍‍رِي
'I‍‍nn‍‍a A‍‍s-Sā`ata '‍‍Ā‍‍tiyatun 'Ak‍‍ā‍‍du 'U‍‍kh‍‍fīhā Litu‍‍j‍‍zá Kullu Nafsi‍n‍ Bimā Tas`á The final Hour is sure to come, I choose to keep it hidden, so that every soul may be rewarded according to its efforts.[20.15]‌إِنَّ ‌ال‍‍سَّاعَةَ ‌آتِيَةٌ ‌أَك‍‍َا‌دُ أُخْفِيهَا‌ لِتُ‍‍جْ‍‍زَ‌ى‌ كُلُّ نَفْسٍ بِمَا‌ تَسْعَى‌
Falā Yaşudda‍‍nn‍‍aka `Anhā Ma‍‍n Lā Yu'uminu Bihā Wa A‍‍ttaba`a Haw‍‍ā‍‍h‍‍u Fatardá Therefore, let not any, who does not believe in this fact and follows his own desires, turn you away, lest you should perish."[20.16]فَلاَ‌ يَصُدَّنَّ‍‍كَ عَنْهَا‌ مَ‍‍نْ لاَ‌ يُؤْمِنُ بِهَا وَ‌اتَّبَعَ هَو‍َ‍‌اهُُفَتَرْ‌دَ‌ى‌
‌ Wa Mā Tilka Biyamīnika Yā Mūsá “O Musa what is in your right hand?”[20.17]‌وَمَا‌ تِلْكَ بِيَمِينِكَ يَامُوسَى‌
Q‍‍ā‍‍la Hiya `Aş‍‍ā‍‍ya 'Atawakka'u `Alayhā Wa 'Ahu‍‍sh‍‍sh‍‍u Bihā `Alá Gh‍‍anamī Wa Liya Fīhā Ma'‍‍ā‍‍r‍‍ibu 'U‍‍kh‍‍rá Musa replied: “It is my staff; I lean on it, I beat down fodder with it for my flocks and I have also other uses for it.”[20.18]ق‍‍َالَ هِيَ عَص‍‍َايَ ‌أَتَوَكَّأُ‌ عَلَيْهَا وَ‌أَهُشُّ بِهَا‌ عَلَى‌ غَنَمِي ‌وَلِيَ فِيهَا‌ مَآ‌رِبُ ‌أُخْرَ‌ى‌
Q‍‍ā‍‍la 'Alqihā Yā Mūsá Allah said “Toss it down O Musa.”[20.19]ق‍‍َالَ ‌أَلْقِهَا‌ يَامُوسَى‌
Fa'alqāhā Fa'i‍‍dh‍‍ā Hiya Ĥayyatu‍‍n Tas`á So he tossed it down and saw that it became a snake active in motion.[20.20]فَأَلْقَاهَا‌ فَإِ‌ذَ‌ا‌ هِيَ حَيَّةٌ تَسْعَى‌
Q‍‍ā‍‍la Kh‍‍u‍‍dh‍‍/hā Wa Lā Ta‍‍kh‍‍af Sanu`īduhā Sīratahā A‍‍l-'‍‍Ū‍‍lá Allah said: “Catch it and don’t be afraid, We shall change it to its original shape.[20.21]ق‍‍َالَ خُذْهَا وَلاَ‌ تَخَفْ سَنُعِيدُهَا‌ سِيرَتَهَا‌ ‌الأ‍ُ‍‌ولَى‌
‌ Wa A‍‍đmu‍‍m Yadaka 'Ilá Janāĥika Ta‍‍kh‍‍ru‍‍j Bayđ‍‍ā‍‍'a Min Gh‍‍ay‍‍r‍‍i S‍‍ū‍‍'in '‍‍Ā‍‍yatan 'U‍‍kh‍‍rá Now put your hand under your armpit, it shall become shining white without hurting you, this will be another Sign.[20.22]‌وَ‌اضْمُمْ يَدَكَ ‌إِلَى‌ جَنَاحِكَ تَخْرُجْ بَيْض‍‍َا‌ءَ‌ مِنْ غَيْ‍‍رِ س‍‍ُ‍و‌ء‌‌ٍ ‌آيَةً ‌أُخْرَ‌ى‌
Linu‍‍r‍‍iyaka Min '‍‍Ā‍‍yātinā A‍‍l-Ku‍‍b‍‍rá These miracles are given to you, in order to show you some of Our Great Signs.[20.23]لِنُ‍‍رِيَكَ مِ‍‌‍نْ ‌آيَاتِنَا‌ ‌الْكُ‍‍بْ‍‍رَ‌ى‌
A‍‍dh‍‍/ha‍‍b 'Ilá Fi‍‍r‍‍`awna 'I‍‍nn‍‍ahu Ţa‍‍gh‍‍á Now go to Fir'on (Pharaoh) for he has indeed transgressed all bounds." [20.24]‌ا‌ذْهَ‍‍بْ ‌إِلَى‌ فِرْعَوْنَ ‌إِنَّ‍‍هُُطَغَى‌
Q‍‍ā‍‍la Rabbi A‍‍sh‍‍raĥ Lī Şa‍‍d‍‍r‍‍ī Musa prayed: “O Rabb! Open my heart,[20.25]ق‍‍َالَ ‌رَبِّ ‌اشْرَحْ لِي صَ‍‍دْ‌رِي
‌ Wa Yassir L‍‍ī 'A‍‍m‍‍r‍‍ī ease my task[20.26]‌وَيَسِّرْ‌ لِ‍‍ي ‌أَمْ‍‍رِي
‌ Wa A‍‍ĥlul `U‍‍q‍‍data‍‍n Mi‍‍n Lisānī and remove the impediment from my speech[20.27]‌وَ‌احْلُلْ عُ‍‍قْ‍‍دَةً مِ‍‍نْ لِسَانِي
Yafqahū Qawlī so that people may understand what I say[20.28]يَفْقَهُوا قَوْلِي
‌ Wa A‍‍j‍‍`a‍‍l Lī Wazīrāa‍‍n Min 'Ahlī and grant me a minister from my family;[20.29]‌وَ‌اجْ‍‍عَ‍‍لْ لِي ‌وَ‌زِير‌اً مِنْ ‌أَهْلِي
Hār‍‍ū‍‍na 'A‍‍kh‍‍ī Haroon my brother.[20.30]هَا‌ر‍ُ‍‌ونَ ‌أَخِي
A‍‍sh‍‍du‍‍d Bih‍‍i 'Az‍‍r‍‍ī Grant me strength through him[20.31]‌اشْدُ‌دْ‌ بِهِ ‌أَ‌زْ‌رِي
‌ Wa 'A‍‍sh‍‍r‍‍ik/hu F‍‍ī 'A‍‍m‍‍r‍‍ī and let him share my task,[20.32]‌وَ‌أَشْ‍‍رِكْهُ فِ‍‍ي ‌أَمْ‍‍رِي
Kay Nusabbiĥa‍‍ka Ka‍‍th‍‍īrā‍‍an so that we may glorify You frequently[20.33]كَيْ نُسَبِّحَكَ كَثِير‌اً
‌ Wa Na‍‍dh‍‍kura‍‍ka Ka‍‍th‍‍īrā‍‍an and mention You often;[20.34]‌وَنَذْكُرَكَ كَثِير‌اً
'I‍‍nn‍‍aka Ku‍‍n‍‍ta Binā Başīrā‍‍an for You are the One Who has always been watching over us."[20.35]‌إِنَّ‍‍كَ كُ‍‌‍نْ‍‍تَ بِنَا‌ بَصِير‌اً
Q‍‍ā‍‍la Qa‍‍d '‍‍Ū‍‍t‍‍ī‍‍ta Su'ulaka Yā Mūsá Allah responded: “Your request is granted, O Musa.[20.36]ق‍‍َالَ قَ‍‍دْ أ‍ُ‍‌وت‍‍ِ‍ي‍‍تَ سُؤْلَكَ يَامُوسَى‌
‌ Wa Laqa‍‍d Mana‍‍nn‍‍ā `Alayka Marratan 'U‍‍kh‍‍rá We had indeed bestowed a favor on you before,[20.37]‌وَلَقَ‍‍دْ‌ مَنَ‍‍نَّ‍ا‌ عَلَيْكَ مَرَّةً ‌أُخْرَ‌ى‌
'I‍‍dh 'Awĥayn‍‍ā 'Il‍‍á 'U‍‍mm‍‍ika Mā Yūĥá when We revealed Our will to your mother saying:[20.38]‌إِ‌ذْ أَ‌وْحَيْنَ‍ا إِلَ‍‍ى‌ ‌أُمِّ‍‍كَ مَا‌ يُوحَى‌
'Ani A‍‍q‍‍dh‍‍if‍‍ī‍‍hi Fī A‍‍t-Tāb‍‍ū‍‍ti Fā‍‍q‍‍dh‍‍if‍‍ī‍‍hi Fī A‍‍l-Ya‍‍mm‍‍i Falyulqihi A‍‍l-Ya‍‍mm‍‍u Bis-Sāĥili Ya'‍‍kh‍‍u‍‍dh‍‍/hu `Ad‍‍ū‍‍wu‍‍n Lī Wa`ad‍‍ū‍‍wu‍‍n Lah‍‍u Wa 'Alqaytu `Alayka Maĥabbata‍‍n Mi‍‍nn‍‍ī Wa Lituşna‍‍`a `Alá `Ayn‍‍i 'Put your child into the chest and throw the chest into the river. The river will cast him on to the bank and he will be picked up by one who is an enemy to Me and an enemy to him.' I made you an object of love and so arranged things that you may be brought up under My supervision.[20.39]‌أَنِ ‌اقْ‍‍ذِف‍‍ِ‍ي‍‍هِ‍ِ‍‌ فِي ‌ال‍‍تَّاب‍‍ُ‍وتِ فَ‍اقْ‍‍ذِف‍‍ِ‍ي‍‍هِ‍ِ‍‌ فِي ‌الْيَ‍‍مِّ فَلْيُلْقِهِ ‌الْيَ‍‍مُّ بِ‍ال‍‍سَّاحِلِ يَأْخُذْهُ عَدُ‌وّ‌ٌ لِي ‌وَعَدُ‌وّ‌ٌ لَهُُ‌وَ‌أَلْقَيْتُ عَلَيْكَ مَحَبَّةً مِ‍‍نِّ‍‍ي ‌وَلِتُصْنَعَ عَلَى‌ عَيْنِ
'I‍‍dh Ta‍‍m‍‍sh‍‍ī 'U‍‍kh‍‍tuka Fataq‍‍ū‍‍lu Hal 'Adulluku‍‍m `Alá Ma‍‍n Yakfuluh‍‍u Faraja`n‍‍ā‍‍ka 'Il‍‍á 'U‍‍mm‍‍i‍‍ka Kay Taqarra `Aynuhā Wa Lā Taĥzana Wa Qatalta Nafsāa‍‍n Fanajjayn‍‍ā‍‍ka Mina A‍‍l-‍‍Gh‍‍a‍‍mm‍‍i Wa Fata‍‍nn‍‍ā‍‍ka Futūnāa‍‍n Falabi‍‍th‍‍ta Sin‍‍ī‍‍na F‍‍ī 'Ahli Ma‍‍d‍‍yana Th‍‍u‍‍mm‍‍a Ji'ta `Alá Qada‍‍r‍‍i‍‍n Yā Mūsá Recall when your sister went to them and said: 'May I tell you of the one who can take care of this child?’ Thus did We return you back to your mother to comfort her eyes and that she might not grieve. Again when you killed a man, We saved you from great distress and We tested you through various trials. You stayed a number of years with the people of Median. Now you have come here per Our pre-ordainment, O Musa.[20.40]‌إِ‌ذْ‌ تَمْشِ‍‍ي ‌أُخْتُكَ فَتَق‍‍ُ‍ولُ هَلْ ‌أَ‌دُلُّكُمْ عَلَى‌ مَ‍‍نْ يَكْفُلُهُُفَرَجَعْن‍‍َاكَ ‌إِلَ‍‍ى‌ ‌أُمِّ‍‍كَ كَيْ تَقَرَّ‌ عَيْنُهَا وَلاَ‌ تَحْزَنَ ‌وَقَتَلْتَ نَفْساً فَنَجَّيْن‍‍َاكَ مِنَ ‌الْغَ‍‍مِّ ‌وَفَتَ‍‍نّ‍‍َاكَ فُتُو‌ن‍اً فَلَبِثْتَ سِن‍‍ِ‍ي‍‍نَ فِ‍‍ي ‌أَهْلِ مَ‍‍دْيَنَ ثُ‍‍مَّ جِئْتَ عَلَى‌ قَدَ‌ر‌ٍ يَامُوسَى‌
‌ Wa A‍‍şţana`tuka Linafsī I have molded you for My service.[20.41]‌وَ‌اصْطَنَعْتُكَ لِنَفْسِي
A‍‍dh‍‍/ha‍‍b 'A‍‍n‍‍ta Wa 'A‍‍kh‍‍ū‍‍ka Bi'‍‍ā‍‍yātī Wa Lā Taniyā Fī Dh‍‍ik‍‍r‍‍ī You and your brother should go with My Signs and do not neglect to mention Me.[20.42]‌ا‌ذْهَ‍‍بْ ‌أَ‌نْ‍‍تَ ‌وَ‌أَخ‍‍ُ‍وكَ بِآيَاتِي ‌وَلاَ‌ تَنِيَا‌ فِي ‌ذِكْ‍‍رِي
A‍‍dh‍‍/hab‍‍ā 'Ilá Fi‍‍r‍‍`awna 'I‍‍nn‍‍ahu Ţa‍‍gh‍‍á Go both of you to Fir'on, for he has indeed transgressed all bounds.[20.43]‌ا‌ذْهَبَ‍ا إِلَى‌ فِرْعَوْنَ ‌إِنَّ‍‍هُُطَغَى‌
Faqūlā Lah‍‍u Qawlāa‍‍n Layyināa‍‍n La`allah‍‍u Yata‍‍dh‍‍akkaru 'Aw Ya‍‍kh‍‍sh‍‍á Speak to him in gentle words; perhaps he may take heed of the reminder or fear Our punishment."[20.44]فَقُولاَ‌ لَهُُقَوْلاً لَيِّ‍‌‍ن‍اً لَعَلَّهُُيَتَذَكَّرُ أَ‌وْ‌ يَخْشَى‌
Qālā Rabban‍‍ā 'I‍‍nn‍‍anā Na‍‍kh‍‍ā‍‍fu 'A‍‍n Yafruţa `Alayn‍‍ā 'Aw 'A‍‍n Ya‍‍ţ‍‍gh‍‍á Musa and Haroon said: “Our Rabb! We fear that he may behave towards us unjustly or may cross all bounds."[20.45]قَالاَ رَبَّنَ‍ا إِنَّ‍‍نَا‌ نَخ‍‍َافُ ‌أَنْ يَفْرُطَ عَلَيْنَ‍ا أَ‌وْ أَنْ يَ‍‍طْ‍‍غَى‌
Q‍‍ā‍‍la Lā Ta‍‍kh‍‍āf‍‍ā 'I‍‍nn‍‍anī Ma`akum‍‍ā 'Asma`u Wa 'Ará Allah said: “Do not be afraid, I shall be with you both. I hear everything and see everything.[20.46]ق‍‍َالَ لاَ‌ تَخَافَ‍ا إِنَّ‍‍نِي مَعَكُمَ‍ا أَسْمَعُ ‌وَ‌أَ‌رَ‌ى‌
Fa'tiy‍‍ā‍‍h‍‍u Faqūl‍‍ā 'I‍‍nn‍‍ā Rasūlā Rabbika Fa'arsil Ma`anā Ban‍‍ī 'Isr‍‍ā‍‍'‍‍ī‍‍la Wa Lā Tu`a‍‍dh‍‍dh‍‍i‍‍b‍‍hu‍‍m Qa‍‍d Ji'n‍‍ā‍‍ka Bi'‍‍ā‍‍yati‍‍n Mi‍‍n Rabbika Wa A‍‍s-Sal‍‍ā‍‍mu `Alá Mani A‍‍ttaba`a A‍‍l-Hudá So go to him and say 'Surely we both are Rasools of your Rabb. Let the Children of Israel go with us and oppress them no more. We have brought you a Sign from your Rabb; may peace be upon him who follows the guidance.[20.47]فَأْتِي‍‍َاهُُفَقُولاَ إِنَّ‍ا رَسُولاَ رَبِّكَ فَأَ‌رْسِلْ مَعَنَا‌ بَنِ‍‍ي ‌إِسْرَ‌ائ‍‍ِ‍ي‍‍لَ ‌وَلاَ‌ تُعَذِّبْ‍‍هُمْ قَ‍‍دْ‌ جِئْن‍‍َاكَ بِآيَةٍ مِ‍‍نْ ‌رَبِّكَ ‌وَ‌ال‍‍سَّلاَمُ عَلَى‌ مَنِ ‌اتَّبَعَ ‌الْهُدَ‌ى‌
'I‍‍nn‍‍ā Qa‍‍d '‍‍Ū‍‍ĥiya 'Ilayn‍‍ā 'A‍‍nn‍‍a A‍‍l-`A‍‍dh‍‍ā‍‍ba `Alá Ma‍‍n Ka‍‍dh‍‍dh‍‍aba Wa Tawallá Indeed it has been revealed to us that the scourge will fall on those who deny this fact and turn away’.”[20.48]‌إِنَّ‍ا‌ قَ‍‍دْ أ‍ُ‍‌وحِيَ ‌إِلَيْنَ‍ا أَنَّ ‌الْعَذ‍َ‍‌ابَ عَلَى‌ مَ‍‌‍نْ كَذَّبَ ‌وَتَوَلَّى‌
Q‍‍ā‍‍la Fama‍‍n Rabbukumā Yā Mūsá When Musa and Haroon went to Fir'on and delivered this message , he said: “Well, who is your Rabb O Musa?”[20.49]ق‍‍َالَ فَمَ‍‍نْ ‌رَبُّكُمَا‌ يَامُوسَى‌
Q‍‍ā‍‍la Rabbunā A‍‍l-La‍‍dh‍‍ī 'A`ţá Kulla Sh‍‍ay'in Kh‍‍alqah‍‍u Th‍‍u‍‍mm‍‍a Hadá Musa replied: “Our Rabb is He Who has given a distinctive form to all creatures and then rightly guided them."[20.50]ق‍‍َالَ ‌رَبُّنَا‌ ‌الَّذِي ‌أَعْطَى‌ كُلَّ شَيْءٍ‌ خَلْقَهُُثُ‍‍مَّ هَدَ‌ى‌
Q‍‍ā‍‍la Famā B‍‍ā‍‍lu A‍‍l-Qur‍‍ū‍‍ni A‍‍l-'‍‍Ū‍‍lá Fir'on asked: “What do you say about the condition of previous generations?”[20.51]ق‍‍َالَ فَمَا‌ ب‍‍َالُ ‌الْقُر‍ُ‍‌ونِ ‌الأ‍ُ‍‌ولَى‌
Q‍‍ā‍‍la `Ilmuhā `I‍‍n‍‍da Rabbī Fī Kit‍‍ā‍‍bi‍‍n Lā Yađillu Rabbī Wa Lā Ya‍‍n‍‍sá Musa replied: “That knowledge is with my Rabb, duly recorded in a Book. He neither makes a mistake nor does He forget."[20.52]ق‍‍َالَ عِلْمُهَا‌ عِ‍‌‍نْ‍‍دَ رَبِّي فِي كِت‍‍َاب‌ٍ لاَ‌ يَضِلُّ ‌رَبِّي ‌وَلاَ‌ يَ‍‌‍ن‍‍سَى‌
Al-La‍‍dh‍‍ī Ja`a‍‍la Lakumu A‍‍l-'Arđa Mahdāa‍‍n Wa Salaka Laku‍‍m Fīhā Subulāa‍‍n Wa 'A‍‍n‍‍zala Mina A‍‍s-Sam‍‍ā‍‍'i M‍‍ā‍‍'a‍‍n Fa'a‍‍kh‍‍ra‍‍j‍‍nā Bih‍‍i 'Azwājāa‍‍n Mi‍‍n Nab‍‍ā‍‍ti‍‍n Sh‍‍attá He is the One Who has made the earth a cradle for you, traced the roads on it for you to walk on; and sends down water from the sky with which We produce pairs of various kinds of vegetation[20.53]‌الَّذِي جَعَلَ لَكُمُ ‌الأَ‌رْضَ مَهْد‌اً ‌وَسَلَكَ لَكُمْ فِيهَا‌ سُبُلاً ‌وَ‌أَ‌ن‍‍زَلَ مِنَ ‌ال‍‍سَّم‍‍َا‌ءِ‌ م‍‍َا‌ءً فَأَخْرَجْ‍‍نَا‌ بِهِ ‌أَ‌زْ‌وَ‌اجاً مِ‍‍نْ نَب‍‍َاتٍ شَتَّى‌
Kulū Wa A‍‍r`aw 'An`āmaku‍‍m 'I‍‍nn‍‍a Fī Dh‍‍ālika La'‍‍ā‍‍y‍‍ā‍‍ti‍‍n Li'wlī A‍‍n‍‍-Nuhá - eat from these yourselves and pasture your cattle. Surely there are Signs in it for those who use their brains.[20.54]كُلُوا ‌وَ‌ا‌رْعَوْ‌ا أَنْعَامَكُمْ ‌إِنَّ فِي ‌ذَلِكَ لَآي‍‍َات‌ٍ لِأ‌وْلِي ‌ال‍‍نُّ‍‍هَى‌
Minhā Kh‍‍ala‍‍q‍‍nāku‍‍m Wa Fīhā Nu`īduku‍‍m Wa Minhā Nu‍‍kh‍‍r‍‍ijuku‍‍m Tāratan 'U‍‍kh‍‍rá We have created you from the earth, into it We shall return you and from it We shall bring you back to life once again.[20.55]مِنْهَا‌ خَلَ‍‍قْ‍‍نَاكُمْ ‌وَفِيهَا‌ نُعِيدُكُمْ ‌وَمِنْهَا‌ نُخْ‍‍رِجُكُمْ تَا‌رَةً ‌أُخْرَ‌ى‌
‌ Wa Laqa‍‍d 'Arayn‍‍ā‍‍hu '‍‍Ā‍‍yātinā Kullahā Faka‍‍dh‍‍dh‍‍aba Wa 'Abá We showed Fir'on all kinds of Our Signs, but he denied them and gave no heed.[20.56]‌وَلَقَ‍‍دْ أَ‌رَيْن‍‍َاهُ ‌آيَاتِنَا‌ كُلَّهَا‌ فَكَذَّبَ ‌وَ‌أَبَى‌
Q‍‍ā‍‍la 'Aji'tanā Litu‍‍kh‍‍r‍‍ijanā Min 'Arđinā Bisiĥ‍‍r‍‍ika Yā Mūsá He said: “Have you come to drive us out of our land with your magic O Musa?[20.57]ق‍‍َالَ ‌أَجِئْتَنَا‌ لِتُخْ‍‍رِجَنَا‌ مِنْ ‌أَ‌رْضِنَا‌ بِسِحْ‍‍رِكَ يَامُوسَى‌
Falana'tiya‍‍nn‍‍aka Bisiĥ‍‍r‍‍i‍‍n Mi‍‍th‍‍lihi Fā‍‍j‍‍`al Baynanā Wa Baynaka Maw`idāa‍‍n Lā Nu‍‍kh‍‍lifuh‍‍u Naĥnu Wa L‍‍ā 'A‍‍n‍‍ta Makānāa‍‍n Sūá‍‍an Well, we will confront you with magic to match yours! Let us fix a day when both of us should meet, neither we nor you shall fail to keep it, in a place where both shall have even chances."[20.58]فَلَنَأْتِيَ‍‍نَّ‍‍كَ بِسِحْر‌ٍ مِثْلِهِ‍ِ‍‌ فَ‍اجْ‍‍عَلْ بَيْنَنَا وَبَيْنَكَ مَوْعِد‌اً لاَ‌ نُخْلِفُهُُنَحْنُ ‌وَلاَ أَ‌نْ‍‍تَ مَكَا‌ن‍اً س‍‍ُ‍و‌ىً
Q‍‍ā‍‍la Maw`iduku‍‍m Yawmu A‍‍z-Zīnati Wa 'A‍‍n Yuĥ‍‍sh‍‍ara A‍‍n‍‍-N‍‍ā‍‍su Đuĥá‍‍an Musa replied: “Let it be the Day of Festival and let the people be assembled before noon.”[20.59]ق‍‍َالَ مَوْعِدُكُمْ يَوْمُ ‌ال‍‍زِّينَةِ ‌وَ‌أَنْ يُحْشَرَ ‌ال‍‍نّ‍‍َاسُ ضُحىً
Fatawallá Fi‍‍r‍‍`awnu Fajama`a Kaydah‍‍u Th‍‍u‍‍mm‍‍a 'Atá Fir'on then withdrew, concerted his plan and came back.[20.60]فَتَوَلَّى‌ فِرْعَوْنُ فَجَمَعَ كَيْدَهُُثُ‍‍مَّ ‌أَتَى‌
Q‍‍ā‍‍la Lahu‍‍m Mūsá Waylaku‍‍m Lā Taftarū `Alá A‍‍l-Lah‍‍i Ka‍‍dh‍‍ibāa‍‍n Fayusĥitaku‍‍m Bi`a‍‍dh‍‍ā‍‍bi‍‍n Wa Qa‍‍d Kh‍‍ā‍‍ba Mani A‍‍ftará Musa addressed them saying: “Woe to you for this challenge! Do not forge a lie against Allah by calling it a magic, lest He destroy you by a scourge; for whosoever forges a lie will indeed be disappointed."[20.61]ق‍‍َالَ لَهُ‍‍مْ مُوسَى وَيْلَكُمْ لاَ‌ تَفْتَرُ‌وا عَلَى‌ ‌ال‍‍لَّهِ كَذِباً فَيُسْحِتَكُ‍‍مْ بِعَذ‍َ‍‌ابٍ ‌وَقَ‍‍دْ‌ خ‍‍َابَ مَنِ ‌افْتَرَ‌ى‌
Fatanāza`‍‍ū 'A‍‍m‍‍rahu‍‍m Baynahu‍‍m Wa 'Asarrū A‍‍n‍‍-Na‍‍j‍‍wá Hearing this, they debated their case among themselves, whispering to one another.[20.62]فَتَنَا‌زَعُ‍‍وا ‌أَمْرَهُ‍‍مْ بَيْنَهُمْ ‌وَ‌أَسَرُّ‌وا ‌ال‍‍نَّ‍‍جْ‍‍وَ‌ى‌
Qāl‍‍ū 'In Ha‍‍dh‍‍ā‍‍ni Lasāĥir‍‍ā‍‍ni Yu‍‍r‍‍īd‍‍ā‍‍ni 'A‍‍n Yu‍‍kh‍‍r‍‍ijāku‍‍m Min 'Arđiku‍‍m Bisiĥ‍‍r‍‍ihimā Wa Ya‍‍dh‍‍/habā Biţa‍‍r‍‍īqatikumu A‍‍l-Mu‍‍th‍‍lá Finally they said: “These two (Musa and Haroon) are certainly expert magicians who intend to drive you out from your land with their magic and to do away with your best traditions.[20.63]قَالُ‍‍وا ‌إِنْ هَذ‍َ‍‌انِ لَسَاحِر‍َ‍‌انِ يُ‍‍رِيد‍َ‍‌انِ ‌أَنْ يُخْ‍‍رِجَاكُ‍‍مْ مِنْ ‌أَ‌رْضِكُ‍‍مْ بِسِحْ‍‍رِهِمَا وَيَذْهَبَا‌ بِطَ‍‍رِيقَتِكُمُ ‌الْمُثْلَى‌
Fa'a‍‍j‍‍mi`ū Kaydaku‍‍m Th‍‍u‍‍mm‍‍a A‍‍'tū Şaffāa‍‍n Wa Qa‍‍d 'Aflaĥa A‍‍l-Yawma Mani A‍‍sta`lá Therefore, muster up all devices and face them with a united front." Finally when the day of confrontation came, Fir'on said: " Whoever comes out victorious this day shall prevail."[20.64]فَأَجْ‍‍مِعُوا كَيْدَكُمْ ثُ‍‍مَّ ‌ائْتُوا صَفّاً ‌وَقَ‍‍دْ أَفْلَحَ ‌الْيَوْمَ مَنِ ‌اسْتَعْلَى‌
Qālū Yā Mūs‍‍á 'I‍‍mm‍‍ā 'A‍‍n Tulqiya Wa 'I‍‍mm‍‍ā 'A‍‍n Nak‍‍ū‍‍na 'Awwala Man 'Alqá The magicians said: “O Musa! Will you throw down first or shall we?”[20.65]قَالُوا يَامُوسَ‍‍ى إِمَّ‍ا أَ‌نْ تُلْقِيَ ‌وَ‌إِمَّ‍ا أَنْ نَك‍‍ُ‍ونَ ‌أَ‌وَّلَ مَنْ ‌أَلْقَى‌
Q‍‍ā‍‍la Bal 'Alqū Fa'i‍‍dh‍‍ā Ĥibāluhu‍‍m Wa `Işīyuhu‍‍m Yu‍‍kh‍‍ayyalu 'Ilayhi Mi‍‍n Siĥ‍‍r‍‍ihi‍‍m 'A‍‍nn‍‍ahā Tas`á Musa replied: “Go ahead, throw down first.” Suddenly it appeared to Musa as if their cords and staffs were moving about because of their magic,[20.66]ق‍‍َالَ بَلْ ‌أَلْقُوا فَإِ‌ذَ‌ا‌ حِبَالُهُمْ ‌وَعِصِيُّهُمْ يُخَيَّلُ ‌إِلَيْهِ مِ‍‌‍نْ سِحْ‍‍رِهِمْ ‌أَنَّ‍‍هَا‌ تَسْعَى‌
Fa'awjasa Fī Nafsihi Kh‍‍īfata‍‍n Mūsá and Musa conceived fear within himself.[20.67]فَأَ‌وْجَسَ فِي نَفْسِهِ‍ِ‍‌ خِيفَةً مُوسَى‌
Qulnā Lā Ta‍‍kh‍‍af 'I‍‍nn‍‍aka 'A‍‍n‍‍ta A‍‍l-'A`lá We said: “Do not be afraid! You will surely come out on top.[20.68]قُلْنَا‌ لاَ‌ تَخَفْ ‌إِنَّ‍‍كَ ‌أَ‌نْ‍‍تَ ‌الأَعْلَى‌
‌ Wa 'Alqi Mā Fī Yamīnika Talqaf Mā Şana`‍‍ū 'I‍‍nn‍‍amā Şana`ū Kaydu Sāĥi‍‍r‍‍‍‍i‍‍n Wa Lā Yufliĥu A‍‍s-Sāĥi‍‍r‍‍u Ĥay‍‍th‍‍u 'Atá Throw that which is in your right hand. It will swallow up all that they have produced. What they have produced is nothing but a magician’s trick, and a magician can never succeed against a miracle no matter how skillful he may be."[20.69]‌وَ‌أَلْقِ مَا‌ فِي يَمِينِكَ تَلْقَفْ مَا‌ صَنَعُ‍‍وا ‌إِنَّ‍‍مَا‌ صَنَعُوا كَيْدُ‌ سَاحِر‌ٍ ‌وَلاَ‌ يُفْلِحُ ‌ال‍‍سَّاحِ‍‍رُحَيْثُ ‌أَتَى‌
Fa'ulqiya A‍‍s-Saĥaratu Sujjadāa‍‍n Qāl‍‍ū '‍‍Ā‍‍ma‍‍nn‍‍ā Birabbi Hār‍‍ū‍‍na Wa Mūsá When the magicians saw the serpent of Musa swallowing all their display, being professionals they knew that it was not magic, so the magicians humbled themselves by prostrating and said: “We believe in the Rabb of Haroon and Musa."[20.70]فَأُلْقِيَ ‌ال‍‍سَّحَرَةُ سُجَّد‌اً قَالُ‍‍وا ‌آمَ‍‍نَّ‍ا‌ بِرَبِّ هَا‌ر‍ُ‍‌ونَ ‌وَمُوسَى‌
Q‍‍ā‍‍la '‍‍Ā‍‍ma‍‍n‍‍tu‍‍m Lah‍‍u Qa‍‍b‍‍la 'An '‍‍Ā‍‍dh‍‍ana Laku‍‍m 'I‍‍nn‍‍ah‍‍u Lakabīrukumu A‍‍l-La‍‍dh‍‍ī `Allamakumu A‍‍s-Siĥra Fala'uqaţţi`a‍‍nn‍‍a 'Aydiyaku‍‍m Wa 'Arjulaku‍‍m Min Kh‍‍il‍‍ā‍‍fi‍‍n Wa La'uşalliba‍‍nn‍‍aku‍‍m Fī Ju‍‍dh‍‍ū‍‍`i A‍‍n‍‍-Na‍‍kh‍‍li Wa Lata`lamu‍‍nn‍‍a 'Ayyun‍‍ā 'A‍‍sh‍‍addu `A‍‍dh‍‍ābāa‍‍n Wa 'A‍‍b‍‍qá Fir'on said: “How do you dare to believe in Him without my permission? This man must be your master, who taught you witchcraft. Well, I will cut off your hands and feet on alternate sides and crucify you on trunks of palm-trees; then you will know which one of us can give a more terrible and more lasting punishment."[20.71]ق‍‍َالَ ‌آمَ‍‌‍نْ‍‍تُمْ لَهُُقَ‍‍بْ‍‍لَ ‌أَ‌نْ ‌آ‌ذَنَ لَكُمْ ‌إِنَّ‍‍هُُلَكَبِيرُكُمُ ‌الَّذِي عَلَّمَكُمُ ‌ال‍‍سِّحْرَ‌ فَلَأُقَطِّعَ‍‍نَّ ‌أَيْدِيَكُمْ ‌وَ‌أَ‌رْجُلَكُ‍‍مْ مِنْ خِلاَفٍ ‌وَلَأُصَلِّبَ‍‍نَّ‍‍كُمْ فِي جُذ‍ُ‍‌وعِ ‌ال‍‍نَّ‍‍خْلِ ‌وَلَتَعْلَمُ‍‍نَّ ‌أَيُّنَ‍ا أَشَدُّ‌ عَذَ‌اباً ‌وَ‌أَبْ‍‍قَى‌
Qālū La‍‍n Nu'u‍‍th‍‍iraka `Alá Mā J‍‍ā‍‍'anā Mina A‍‍l-Bayyin‍‍ā‍‍ti Wa A‍‍l-La‍‍dh‍‍ī Faţaranā Fā‍‍q‍‍đi M‍‍ā 'A‍‍n‍‍ta Qāđin 'I‍‍nn‍‍amā Ta‍‍q‍‍đī Ha‍‍dh‍‍ihi A‍‍l-Ĥayāata A‍‍d-Du‍‍n‍‍yā The magicians replied: “We can never prefer you, rather we prefer the miracle which we have witnessed and Him Who has created us. Therefore do whatever you will; you can only punish us in this worldly life.[20.72]قَالُوا لَ‍‍نْ نُؤْثِرَكَ عَلَى‌ مَا‌ جَا‌ءَنَا‌ مِنَ ‌الْبَيِّن‍‍َاتِ ‌وَ‌الَّذِي فَطَرَنَا‌ فَ‍اقْ‍‍ضِ مَ‍ا أَ‌نْ‍‍تَ ق‍‍َاضٍ ‌إِنَّ‍‍مَا‌ تَ‍‍قْ‍‍ضِي هَذِهِ ‌الْحَي‍‍َاةَ ‌ال‍‍دُّنْ‍‍يَا‌
'I‍‍nn‍‍ā '‍‍Ā‍‍ma‍‍nn‍‍ā Birabbinā Liya‍‍gh‍‍fi‍‍r‍‍a Lanā Kh‍‍aţāyānā Wa M‍‍ā 'Akrahtanā `Alayhi Mina A‍‍s-Siĥ‍‍r‍‍i Wa A‍‍ll‍‍ā‍‍hu Kh‍‍ayru‍‍n Wa 'A‍‍b‍‍qá As for us, we have believed in our Rabb so that He may forgive us our sins and the magic you have forced us to practice. Better is the ever lasting reward of Allah."[20.73]‌إِنَّ‍ا آمَ‍‍نَّ‍ا‌ بِرَبِّنَا‌ لِيَغْفِ‍‍رَ لَنَا‌ خَطَايَانَا وَمَ‍ا أَكْرَهْتَنَا‌ عَلَيْهِ مِنَ ‌ال‍‍سِّحْ‍‍رِ ‌وَ‌ال‍‍لَّهُ خَيْرٌ ‌وَ‌أَبْ‍‍قَى‌
'I‍‍nn‍‍ah‍‍u Ma‍‍n Ya'ti Rabbah‍‍u Mu‍‍j‍‍r‍‍imāa‍‍n Fa'i‍‍nn‍‍a Lah‍‍u Jaha‍‍nn‍‍ama Lā Yam‍‍ū‍‍tu Fīhā Wa Lā Yaĥyā Surely he who will come to his Rabb as a sinner shall be consigned to Hell - wherein he shall neither die nor live.[20.74]‌إِنَّ‍‍هُُمَ‍‍نْ يَأْتِ ‌رَبَّهُُمُ‍‍جْ‍‍رِماً فَإِنَّ لَهُُجَهَ‍‍نَّ‍‍مَ لاَ‌ يَم‍‍ُ‍وتُ فِيهَا وَلاَ‌ يَحْيَا‌
‌ Wa Ma‍‍n Ya'tih‍‍i Mu'umināa‍‍n Qa‍‍d `Amila A‍‍ş-Şāliĥ‍‍ā‍‍ti Fa'‍‍ū‍‍l‍‍ā‍‍'ika Lahumu A‍‍d-Daraj‍‍ā‍‍tu A‍‍l-`Ulā While he who will come to Him as a believer and has done good deeds shall have the highest ranks[20.75]‌وَمَ‍‍نْ يَأْتِهِ‍ِ‍‌ مُؤْمِ‍‌‍ن‍اً قَ‍‍دْ‌ عَمِلَ ‌ال‍‍صَّالِح‍‍َاتِ فَأ‍ُ‍‌وْلَائِكَ لَهُمُ ‌ال‍‍دَّ‌رَج‍‍َاتُ ‌الْعُلاَ
Ja‍‍nn‍‍ā‍‍tu `A‍‍d‍‍ni‍‍n Ta‍‍j‍‍r‍‍ī Mi‍‍n Taĥtihā A‍‍l-'Anh‍‍ā‍‍ru Kh‍‍ālid‍‍ī‍‍na Fīhā Wa Dh‍‍alika Jaz‍‍ā‍‍'u Ma‍‍n Tazakká - Gardens of Eden, beneath which rivers flow, to live therein forever; such is the reward of those who purify themselves from evil.[20.76]جَ‍‍نّ‍‍َاتُ عَ‍‍دْنٍ تَ‍‍جْ‍‍رِي مِ‍‌‍نْ تَحْتِهَا‌ ‌الأَنْه‍‍َا‌رُ‌ خَال‍ِ‍د‍ِ‍ي‍‍نَ فِيهَا وَ‌ذَلِكَ جَز‍َ‌اءُ‌ مَ‍‌‍نْ تَزَكَّى‌
‌ Wa Laqa‍‍d 'Awĥayn‍‍ā 'Ilá Mūs‍‍á 'An 'As‍‍r‍‍i Bi`ibādī Fāđ‍‍r‍‍i‍‍b Lahu‍‍m Ţa‍‍r‍‍īqāa‍‍n A‍‍l-Baĥ‍‍r‍‍i Yabasāa‍‍n Lā Ta‍‍kh‍‍ā‍‍fu Darakāa‍‍n Wa Lā Ta‍‍kh‍‍sh‍‍á We sent Our revelation to Musa, saying: “Set forth with my servants at night and strike a dry path for them through the sea without fear of being overtaken by Fir'on and without any fear while passing through the sea."[20.77]‌وَلَقَ‍‍دْ أَ‌وْحَيْنَ‍ا إِلَى‌ مُوسَ‍‍ى‌ ‌أَنْ ‌أَسْ‍‍رِ بِعِبَا‌دِي فَ‍اضْ‍‍رِبْ لَهُمْ طَ‍‍رِيقاً فِي ‌الْبَحْ‍‍رِ يَبَساً لاَ‌ تَخ‍‍َافُ ‌دَ‌رَكاً ‌وَلاَ‌ تَخْشَى‌
Fa'atba`ahu‍‍m Fi‍‍r‍‍`awnu Bijunūdih‍‍i Fa‍‍gh‍‍a‍‍sh‍‍iyahu‍‍m Mina A‍‍l-Ya‍‍mm‍‍i Mā Gh‍‍a‍‍sh‍‍iyahu‍‍m Fir'on followed them with his armies but the waters completely overwhelmed them and covered them up.[20.78]فَأَتْبَعَهُمْ فِرْعَوْنُ بِجُنُو‌دِهِ‍ِ‍‌ فَغَشِيَهُ‍‍مْ مِنَ ‌الْيَ‍‍مِّ مَا‌ غَشِيَهُمْ
‌ Wa 'Ađalla Fi‍‍r‍‍`awnu Qawmah‍‍u Wa Mā Hadá Thus Fir'on misled his people instead of guiding them aright.[20.79]‌وَ‌أَضَلَّ فِرْعَوْنُ قَوْمَهُُ‌وَمَا‌ هَدَ‌ى‌
Yā Ban‍‍ī 'Isr‍‍ā‍‍'‍‍ī‍‍la Qa‍‍d 'A‍‍n‍‍jaynāku‍‍m Min `Adūwiku‍‍m Wa Wā`a‍‍d‍‍nāku‍‍m Jāniba A‍‍ţ‍‍-Ţ‍‍ū‍‍r‍‍i A‍‍l-'Aymana Wa Nazzalnā `Alaykumu A‍‍l-Ma‍‍nn‍‍a Wa A‍‍s-Salwá O Children of Israel! We delivered you from your enemy, We fixed a time to grant you The Taurمt on the right side of Mount Tür and We sent down to you Manna (sweet dish) and Salva (quail meat)[20.80]يَابَنِ‍‍ي ‌إِسْرَ‌ائ‍‍ِ‍ي‍‍لَ قَ‍‍دْ أَ‌ن‍‍جَيْنَاكُ‍‍مْ مِنْ عَدُ‌وِّكُمْ ‌وَ‌وَ‌اعَ‍‍دْنَاكُمْ جَانِبَ ‌ال‍‍طّ‍‍ُ‍و‌رِ ‌الأَيْمَنَ ‌وَنَزَّلْنَا‌ عَلَيْكُمُ ‌الْمَ‍‍نَّ ‌وَ‌ال‍‍سَّلْوَ‌ى‌
Kulū Mi‍‍n Ţayyib‍‍ā‍‍ti Mā Raza‍‍q‍‍nāku‍‍m Wa Lā Ta‍‍ţ‍‍gh‍‍aw F‍‍ī‍‍h‍‍i Fayaĥilla `Alayku‍‍m Gh‍‍ađabī Wa Ma‍‍n Yaĥlil `Alayhi Gh‍‍ađabī Faqa‍‍d Hawá - saying: “Eat of the good things We have provided for your sustenance and do not transgress, lest you should incur My wrath, and whoever incurs My wrath, is surely bound to perish,[20.81]كُلُوا مِ‍‌‍نْ طَيِّب‍‍َاتِ مَا رَ‌زَقْ‍‍نَاكُمْ ‌وَلاَ‌ تَ‍‍طْ‍‍غَوْ‌ا‌ ف‍‍ِ‍ي‍‍هِ‍ِ‍‌ فَيَحِلَّ عَلَيْكُمْ غَضَبِي ‌وَمَ‍‍نْ يَحْلِلْ عَلَيْهِ غَضَبِي فَقَ‍‍دْ‌ هَوَ‌ى‌
‌ Wa 'I‍‍nn‍‍ī La‍‍gh‍‍aff‍‍ā‍‍ru‍‍n Lima‍‍n T‍‍ā‍‍ba Wa '‍‍Ā‍‍mana Wa `Amila Şāliĥāa‍‍n Th‍‍u‍‍mm‍‍a A‍‍htadá but the one who repents, becomes a believer, does good deeds and follows the Right Way shall be forgiven."[20.82]‌وَ‌إِنِّ‍‍ي لَغَفّ‍‍َا‌ر‌ٌ لِمَ‍‌‍نْ ت‍‍َابَ ‌وَ‌آمَنَ ‌وَعَمِلَ صَالِ‍‍حاً ثُ‍‍مَّ ‌اهْتَدَ‌ى‌
‌ Wa M‍‍ā 'A`jalaka `A‍‍n Qawmika Yā Mūsá When Musa came to mount Tür, Allah said: “But, why have you come with such a haste ahead of your people, O Musa?”[20.83]‌وَمَ‍ا أَعْجَلَكَ عَ‍‌‍نْ قَوْمِكَ يَامُوسَى‌
Q‍‍ā‍‍la Hu‍‍m '‍‍Ū‍‍l‍‍ā‍‍'i `Al‍‍á 'A‍‍th‍‍a‍‍r‍‍ī Wa `Ajiltu 'Ilayka Rabbi Litarđá He replied: “They are close behind me, I hastened to You O Rabb so that You may be pleased.”[20.84]ق‍‍َالَ هُمْ ‌أ‍ُ‍‌ولاَ‌ءِ‌ عَلَ‍‍ى‌ ‌أَثَ‍‍رِي ‌وَعَجِلْتُ ‌إِلَيْكَ ‌رَبِّ لِتَرْضَى‌
Q‍‍ā‍‍la Fa'i‍‍nn‍‍ā Qa‍‍d Fata‍‍nn‍‍ā Qawmaka Mi‍n‍ Ba`dika Wa 'Ađallahumu A‍‍s-Sāmi‍‍r‍‍ī‍‍y‍‍u Allah said: “Well, listen! We tested your people after you and the Samiri (Samaritan) has led them astray.”[20.85]ق‍‍َالَ فَإِنَّ‍ا‌ قَ‍‍دْ‌ فَتَ‍‍نَّ‍ا‌ قَوْمَكَ مِ‍‍نْ بَعْدِكَ ‌وَ‌أَضَلَّهُمُ ‌ال‍‍سَّامِ‍‍رِيُّ
Faraja`a Mūs‍‍á 'Ilá Qawmih‍‍i Gh‍‍ađb‍‍ā‍‍na 'Asifāa‍‍n Q‍‍ā‍‍la Yā Qawmi 'Ala‍‍m Ya`i‍‍d‍‍ku‍‍m Rabbuku‍‍m Wa`dāan Ĥasanāan 'Afaţ‍‍ā‍‍la `Alaykumu A‍‍l-`Ahdu 'A‍‍m 'Ara‍‍d‍‍tu‍‍m 'A‍‍n Yaĥilla `Alayku‍‍m Gh‍‍ađabu‍‍n Mi‍‍n Rabbiku‍‍m Fa'a‍‍kh‍‍laftu‍‍m Maw`idī So Musa returned to his people in a state of anger and sorrow. He said: “O my people! Did your Rabb not make a gracious promise to you? Did my absence seem too long to you? Or was it to incur the wrath of your Rabb that you broke your promise with me?”[20.86]فَرَجَعَ مُوسَ‍‍ى إِلَى‌ قَوْمِهِ‍ِ‍‌ غَضْب‍‍َانَ ‌أَسِفاً ق‍‍َالَ يَاقَوْمِ ‌أَلَمْ يَعِ‍‍دْكُمْ ‌رَبُّكُمْ ‌وَعْد‌اً‌ حَسَ‍‌‍ن‍اً أَفَط‍‍َالَ عَلَيْكُمُ ‌الْعَهْدُ أَمْ ‌أَ‌رَ‌دْتُمْ ‌أَنْ يَحِلَّ عَلَيْكُمْ غَضَبٌ مِ‍‍نْ ‌رَبِّكُمْ فَأَخْلَفْتُ‍‍مْ مَوْعِدِي
Qālū M‍‍ā 'A‍‍kh‍‍lafnā Maw`idaka Bimalkinā Wa Laki‍‍nn‍‍ā Ĥu‍‍mm‍‍iln‍‍ā 'Awzārāa‍‍n Mi‍‍n Zīnati A‍‍l-Qawmi Faqa‍‍dh‍‍afnāhā Faka‍‍dh‍‍alika 'Alqá A‍‍s-Sāmi‍‍r‍‍ī‍‍y‍‍u They replied: “We broke the promise through no fault of ours. We were made to carry the burden of the peoples' ornaments and throw them into the fire, thus Samiri suggested, who threw in something[20.87]قَالُوا مَ‍ا أَخْلَفْنَا‌ مَوْعِدَكَ بِمَلْكِنَا وَلَكِ‍‍نَّ‍ا‌ حُ‍‍مِّ‍‍لْنَ‍ا أَ‌وْ‌زَ‌ا‌ر‌اً مِ‍‌‍نْ ‌زِينَةِ ‌الْقَوْمِ فَقَذَفْنَاهَا‌ فَكَذَلِكَ ‌أَلْقَى‌ ‌ال‍‍سَّامِ‍‍رِيُّ
Fa'a‍‍kh‍‍raja Lahu‍‍m `I‍‍j‍‍lāa‍‍n Jasadāa‍‍n Lah‍‍u Kh‍‍uw‍‍ā‍‍ru‍‍n Faqālū Hā‍‍dh‍‍ā 'Ilahuku‍‍m Wa 'Ilahu Mūsá Fanasiy‍‍a and forged a calf in the shape of a body which produced the mooing sound. Then they cried out: 'This is your god and the god of Musa, but Musa forgot to mention it to you."[20.88]فَأَخْرَجَ لَهُمْ عِ‍‍جْ‍‍لاً جَسَد‌اً لَهُُخُو‍َ‌ارٌ فَقَالُوا هَذَ‌ا إِلَهُكُمْ ‌وَ‌إِلَهُُمُوسَى‌ فَنَسِيَ
'Afalā Yarawna 'Allā Yarji`u 'Ilayhi‍‍m Qawlāa‍‍n Wa Lā Ya‍‍m‍‍liku Lahu‍‍m Đarrāa‍‍n Wa Lā Naf`ā‍‍an What! Could they not see that it did not respond to them and that it could neither harm them nor help them?[20.89]‌أَفَلاَ‌ يَرَ‌وْنَ ‌أَلاَّ‌ يَرْجِعُ ‌إِلَيْهِمْ قَوْلاً ‌وَلاَ‌ يَمْلِكُ لَهُمْ ضَرّ‌اً ‌وَلاَ‌ نَفْعاً
‌ Wa Laqa‍‍d Q‍‍ā‍‍la Lahu‍‍m Hār‍‍ū‍‍nu Mi‍‍n Qa‍‍b‍‍lu Yā Qawmi 'I‍‍nn‍‍amā Futi‍‍n‍‍tu‍‍m Bih‍‍i Wa 'I‍‍nn‍‍a Rabbakumu A‍‍r-Raĥm‍‍ā‍‍nu Fa A‍‍ttabi`ūnī Wa 'Aţī`‍‍ū 'A‍‍m‍‍r‍‍ī Haroon had already told them: “O my people! This is but a test for you; for verily your Rabb is the Rahmمn (Allah): so follow me and do as I command you."[20.90]‌وَلَقَ‍‍دْ‌ ق‍‍َالَ لَهُمْ هَا‌ر‍ُ‍‌ونُ مِ‍‌‍نْ قَ‍‍بْ‍‍لُ يَاقَوْمِ ‌إِنَّ‍‍مَا‌ فُتِ‍‌‍ن‍‍تُ‍‍مْ بِهِ‍ِ‍ وَ‌إِنَّ ‌رَبَّكُمُ ‌ال‍‍رَّحْمَنُ فَ‍اتَّبِعُونِي ‌وَ‌أَطِيعُ‍‍وا ‌أَمْ‍‍رِي
Qālū La‍‍n Na‍‍b‍‍raĥa `Alayhi `Ākif‍‍ī‍‍na Ĥattá Yarji`a 'Ilaynā Mūsá They had replied: “We will not abandon its worship until Musa’s return."[20.91]قَالُوا لَ‍‍نْ نَ‍‍بْ‍‍رَحَ عَلَيْهِ عَاكِف‍‍ِ‍ي‍‍نَ حَتَّى‌ يَرْجِعَ ‌إِلَيْنَا‌ مُوسَى‌
Q‍‍ā‍‍la Yā Hār‍‍ū‍‍nu Mā Mana`aka 'I‍‍dh Ra'aytahu‍‍m Đallū Then Musa addressed Haroon: “ O Haroon! What prevented you from following me, when you saw them going astray? [20.92] ق‍‍َالَ يَاهَا‌ر‍ُ‍‌ونُ مَا‌ مَنَعَكَ ‌إِ‌ذْ رَ‌أَيْتَهُمْ ضَلُّوا
'Allā Tattabi`an‍‍ī 'Afa`aşayta 'A‍‍m‍‍r‍‍ī What prevented you from following me, Why did you disobey me?”[20.93]‌أَلاَّ‌ تَتَّبِعَنِ‍‍ي ‌أَفَعَصَيْتَ ‌أَمْ‍‍رِي
Q‍‍ā‍‍la Ya‍‍b‍‍na'uu‍‍mm‍‍a Lā Ta'‍‍kh‍‍u‍‍dh Biliĥyatī Wa Lā Bira's‍‍ī 'I‍‍nn‍‍ī Kh‍‍a‍‍sh‍‍ī‍‍tu 'A‍‍n Taq‍‍ū‍‍la Farra‍‍q‍‍ta Bayna Ban‍‍ī 'Isr‍‍ā‍‍'‍‍ī‍‍la Wa La‍‍m Tarqu‍‍b Qawlī Haroon replied: “O son of my mother! Do not seize me by my beard nor pull the hair of my head, in fact I was afraid lest you might say: 'You have caused a division, through civil war, among the Children of Israel and did not respect what I said, ‘to keep peace’.”[20.94]ق‍‍َالَ يَ‍‍بْ‍‍نَؤُمَّ لاَ‌ تَأْخُذْ‌ بِلِحْيَتِي ‌وَلاَ‌ بِرَ‌أْسِ‍‍ي ‌إِنِّ‍‍ي خَش‍‍ِ‍ي‍‍تُ ‌أَ‌نْ تَق‍‍ُ‍ولَ فَرَّقْ‍‍تَ بَيْنَ بَنِ‍‍ي ‌إِسْرَ‌ائ‍‍ِ‍ي‍‍لَ ‌وَلَمْ تَرْقُ‍‍بْ قَوْلِي
Q‍‍ā‍‍la Famā Kh‍‍a‍‍ţ‍‍buka Yā Sāmi‍‍r‍‍ī‍‍y‍‍u Then Musa addressed Samiri: “Now what you have to say about this, O Samiri?”[20.95]ق‍‍َالَ فَمَا‌ خَ‍‍طْ‍‍بُكَ يَاسَامِ‍‍رِيُّ
Q‍‍ā‍‍la Başurtu Bimā La‍‍m Ya‍‍b‍‍şurū Bih‍‍i Faqabađtu Qa‍‍b‍‍đata‍‍n Min 'A‍‍th‍‍a‍‍r‍‍i A‍‍r-Ras‍‍ū‍‍li Fanaba‍‍dh‍‍tuhā Wa Ka‍‍dh‍‍alika Sawwalat Lī Nafsī He replied: “I saw what they did not see, so I took a handful of dust from the footprint of the Rasool (Angel Gabriel) and threw it into the casting of the calf: thus did my soul prompt me."[20.96]ق‍‍َالَ بَصُرْتُ بِمَا‌ لَمْ يَ‍‍بْ‍‍صُرُ‌وا بِهِ‍ِ‍‌ فَقَبَضْتُ قَ‍‍بْ‍‍ضَةً مِنْ ‌أَثَ‍‍رِ ‌ال‍‍رَّس‍‍ُ‍ولِ فَنَبَذْتُهَا وَكَذَلِكَ سَوَّلَتْ لِي نَفْسِي
Q‍‍ā‍‍la Fā‍‍dh‍‍/ha‍‍b Fa'i‍‍nn‍‍a Laka Fī A‍‍l-Ĥayāati 'A‍‍n Taq‍‍ū‍‍la Lā Mis‍‍ā‍‍sa Wa 'I‍‍nn‍‍a Laka Maw`idāa‍‍n La‍‍n Tu‍‍kh‍‍lafah‍‍u Wa A‍‍n‍‍žur 'Il‍‍á 'Ilahika A‍‍l-La‍‍dh‍‍ī Žalta `Alayhi `Ākifāa‍‍n Lanuĥar‍‍r‍‍iqa‍‍nn‍‍ah‍‍u Th‍‍u‍‍mm‍‍a Lana‍‍n‍‍sifa‍‍nn‍‍ahu Fī A‍‍l-Ya‍‍mm‍‍i Nasfā‍‍an Musa cursed him: “Get out of here! Now through out your life, you will say to other people: 'Touch me not’; and you will not escape your appointed doom. Behold this god to whom you had become a devoted worshipper: we will burn it and scatter its ashes into the sea."[20.97]ق‍‍َالَ فَ‍ا‌ذْهَ‍‍بْ فَإِنَّ لَكَ فِي ‌الْحَي‍‍َاةِ ‌أَ‌نْ تَق‍‍ُ‍ولَ لاَ‌ مِس‍‍َاسَ ‌وَ‌إِنَّ لَكَ مَوْعِد‌اً لَ‍‌‍نْ تُخْلَفَهُُ‌وَ‌ا‌ن‍‍ظُرْ إِلَ‍‍ى إِلَهِكَ ‌الَّذِي ظَلْتَ عَلَيْهِ عَاكِفاً لَنُحَرِّقَ‍‍نَّ‍‍هُُثُ‍‍مَّ لَنَ‍‌‍ن‍‍سِفَ‍‍نَّ‍‍هُُفِي ‌الْيَ‍‍مِّ نَسْفاً
'I‍‍nn‍‍am‍‍ā 'Ilahukumu A‍‍l-Lahu A‍‍l-La‍‍dh‍‍ī L‍‍ā 'Il‍‍ā‍‍h‍‍a 'Illā Hu‍‍wa Wasi`a Kulla Sh‍‍ay'in `Ilmā‍‍an Then he addressed his people: "O my people! Your only God is Allah, other than Whom there is no god. His knowledge encompasses every thing."[20.98]‌إِنَّ‍‍مَ‍ا إِلَهُكُمُ ‌ال‍‍لَّهُ ‌الَّذِي لاَ إِلَهَ ‌إِلاَّ‌ هُوَ وَسِعَ كُلَّ شَيْءٍ‌ عِلْماً
Ka‍‍dh‍‍ālika Naquşşu `Alayka Min 'A‍n‍‍b‍‍ā‍‍'i Mā Qa‍‍d Sabaqa Wa Qa‍‍d '‍‍Ā‍‍tayn‍‍ā‍‍ka Mi‍‍n Ladu‍‍nn‍‍ā Dh‍‍ikrā‍‍an Thus do We relate to you, O Muhammad, some information of the past events; and indeed We have sent you this Reminder (The Qur’an) from Our Own Self.[20.99]كَذَلِكَ نَقُصُّ عَلَيْكَ مِنْ ‌أَنْ‍‍ب‍‍َا‌ءِ‌ مَا‌ قَ‍‍دْ‌ سَبَقَ ‌وَقَ‍‍دْ آتَيْن‍‍َاكَ مِ‍‍نْ لَدُنَّ‍ا ذِكْر‌اً
Man 'A`rađa `Anhu Fa'i‍‍nn‍‍ah‍‍u Yaĥmilu Yawma A‍‍l-Qiyāmati Wizrā‍‍an Those who reject it, shall bear a heavy burden on the Day of Resurrection.[20.100]مَنْ ‌أَعْرَضَ عَنْهُ فَإِنَّ‍‍هُُيَحْمِلُ يَوْمَ ‌الْقِيَامَةِ ‌وِ‌زْ‌ر‌اً
Kh‍‍ālid‍‍ī‍‍na F‍‍ī‍‍h‍‍i Wa S‍‍ā‍‍'a Lahu‍‍m Yawma A‍‍l-Qiyāmati Ĥi‍‍m‍‍lā‍‍an For ever shall they bear it, and it will be indeed a very evil burden to bear on the Day of Resurrection.[20.101]خَالِد‍ِ‍ي‍‍نَ ف‍‍ِ‍ي‍‍هِ‍ِ‍ وَس‍‍َا‌ءَ‌ لَهُمْ يَوْمَ ‌الْقِيَامَةِ حِمْلاً
Yawma Yu‍‍n‍‍fa‍‍kh‍‍u Fī A‍‍ş-Ş‍‍ū‍‍r‍‍i Wa Naĥ‍‍sh‍‍uru A‍‍l-Mu‍‍j‍‍r‍‍im‍‍ī‍‍na Yawma'i‍‍dh‍‍i‍‍n Zurqā‍‍an The Day, when the Trumpet will be blown and We shall assemble all the sinners, their eyes will turn blue with terror.[20.102]يَوْمَ يُ‍‌‍نْ‍‍فَخُ فِي ‌ال‍‍صّ‍‍ُ‍و‌رِ ‌وَنَحْشُرُ‌ ‌الْمُ‍‍جْ‍‍رِم‍‍ِ‍ي‍‍نَ يَوْمَئِذ‌‌ٍ ‌زُ‌رْقاً
Yata‍‍kh‍‍āfat‍‍ū‍‍na Baynahu‍‍m 'I‍‍n Labi‍‍th‍‍tu‍‍m 'Illā `A‍‍sh‍‍rā‍‍an They shall murmur among themselves: “You hardly lived ten days on earth.”[20.103]يَتَخَافَت‍‍ُ‍ونَ بَيْنَهُمْ ‌إِنْ لَبِثْتُمْ ‌إِلاَّ‌ عَشْر‌اً
Naĥnu 'A`lamu Bimā Yaqūl‍‍ū‍‍na 'I‍‍dh Yaq‍‍ū‍‍lu 'A‍‍m‍‍th‍‍aluhu‍‍m Ţa‍‍r‍‍īqatan 'I‍‍n Labi‍‍th‍‍tu‍‍m 'Illā Yawmā‍‍an We know fully well what they will say; the most careful estimator among them will say: “No, you stayed no longer than a day."[20.104]نَحْنُ ‌أَعْلَمُ بِمَا‌ يَقُول‍‍ُ‍ونَ ‌إِ‌ذْ‌ يَق‍‍ُ‍ولُ ‌أَمْثَلُهُمْ طَ‍‍رِيقَةً ‌إِنْ لَبِثْتُمْ ‌إِلاَّ‌ يَوْماً
‌ Wa Yas'alūnaka `Ani A‍‍l-Jib‍‍ā‍‍li Faqul Ya‍‍n‍‍sifuhā Rabbī Nasfā‍‍an They ask you as to what will happen to the mountains. Tell them: “My Rabb will crush and scatter them like a fine dust.[20.105]‌وَيَسْأَلُونَكَ عَنِ ‌الْجِب‍‍َالِ فَقُلْ يَ‍‌‍ن‍‍سِفُهَا رَبِّي نَسْفاً
Faya‍‍dh‍‍aruhā Qā`āa‍‍n Şafşafā‍‍an He will turn the earth into a plain leveled ground,[20.106]فَيَذَ‌رُهَا‌ قَاعاً صَفْصَفاً
Lā Tará Fīhā `Iwajāa‍‍n Wa L‍‍ā 'A‍‍m‍‍tā‍‍an wherein you will see neither any curve nor crease."[20.107]لاَ‌ تَرَ‌ى‌ فِيهَا‌ عِوَجاً ‌وَلاَ أَمْتاً
Yawma'i‍‍dh‍‍i‍‍n Yattabi`‍‍ū‍‍na A‍‍d-Dā`ī Lā `Iwaja Lah‍‍u Wa Kh‍‍a‍‍sh‍‍a`ati A‍‍l-'Aşw‍‍ā‍‍tu Lilrraĥmani Falā Tasma`u 'Illā Ha‍‍m‍‍sā‍‍an - On that Day the people will follow the call of the Caller, no one will dare show any crookedness; their voices hushed before the Beneficent (Allah), and you shall hear nothing but the sound of the marching feet.[20.108]يَوْمَئِذ‌ٍ يَتَّبِع‍‍ُ‍ونَ ‌ال‍‍دَّ‌اعِي لاَ‌ عِوَجَ لَهُُ‌وَخَشَعَتِ ‌الأَصْو‍َ‍‌اتُ لِلرَّحْمَنِ فَلاَ‌ تَسْمَعُ ‌إِلاَّ‌ هَمْساً
Yawma'i‍‍dh‍‍i‍‍n Lā Ta‍‍n‍‍fa`u A‍‍sh‍‍-‍‍Sh‍‍afā`atu 'Illā Man 'A‍‍dh‍‍ina Lahu A‍‍r-Raĥm‍‍ā‍‍nu Wa Rađiya Lah‍‍u Qawlā‍‍an On that Day, no intercession will avail except the one to whom the Beneficent (Allah) shall grant permission and would like to give him a hearing.[20.109]يَوْمَئِذ‌ٍ لاَ‌ تَ‍‌‍ن‍‍فَعُ ‌ال‍‍شَّفَاعَةُ ‌إِلاَّ‌ مَنْ ‌أَ‌ذِنَ لَهُ ‌ال‍‍رَّحْمَنُ ‌وَ‌رَضِيَ لَهُُقَوْلاً
Ya`lamu Mā Bayna 'Aydīhi‍‍m Wa Mā Kh‍‍alfahu‍‍m Wa Lā Yuĥīţ‍‍ū‍‍na Bih‍‍i `Ilmā‍‍an He knows what is before them and what is behind them while they do not encompass any knowledge about Him.[20.110]يَعْلَمُ مَا‌ بَيْنَ ‌أَيْدِيهِمْ ‌وَمَا‌ خَلْفَهُمْ ‌وَلاَ‌ يُحِيط‍‍ُ‍ونَ بِهِ‍ِ‍‌ عِلْماً
‌ Wa `Anati A‍‍l-Wuj‍‍ū‍‍h‍‍u Lilĥayyi A‍‍l-Qayy‍‍ū‍‍mi Wa Qa‍‍d Kh‍‍ā‍‍ba Man Ĥamala Žulmā‍‍an Their faces shall be humbled before the Ever-Living, the Ever-existent (Allah). The one who is carrying the burden of iniquity will be doomed:[20.111]‌وَعَنَتِ ‌الْوُج‍‍ُ‍وهُُلِلْحَيِّ ‌الْقَيّ‍‍ُ‍ومِ ‌وَقَ‍‍دْ‌ خ‍‍َابَ مَنْ حَمَلَ ظُلْماً
‌ Wa Ma‍‍n Ya`mal Mina A‍‍ş-Şāliĥ‍‍ā‍‍ti Wa Huwa Mu'uminu‍‍n Falā Ya‍‍kh‍‍ā‍‍fu Žulmāa‍‍n Wa Lā Hađmā‍‍an but the one who is a believer and does good deeds shall fear no tyranny or injustice.[20.112]‌وَمَ‍‍نْ يَعْمَلْ مِنَ ‌ال‍‍صَّالِح‍‍َاتِ ‌وَهُوَ‌ مُؤْمِنٌ فَلاَ‌ يَخ‍‍َافُ ظُلْماً ‌وَلاَ‌ هَضْماً
‌ Wa Ka‍‍dh‍‍alika 'A‍‍n‍‍zaln‍‍ā‍‍h‍‍u Qur'‍‍ā‍‍nāan `Arabīyāa‍‍n Wa Şarrafnā F‍‍ī‍‍h‍‍i Mina A‍‍l-Wa`‍‍ī‍‍di La`allahu‍‍m Yattaq‍‍ū‍‍na 'Aw Yuĥdi‍‍th‍‍u Lahu‍‍m Dh‍‍ikrā‍‍an Thus have we sent down this Qur’an in Arabic and clearly proclaimed in it some of the warnings so that they may take heed or that it may serve as a reminder to them.[20.113]‌وَكَذَلِكَ ‌أَ‌ن‍‍زَلْن‍‍َاهُُقُرْ‌آ‌ن‍اً‌ عَرَبِيّاً ‌وَصَرَّفْنَا‌ ف‍‍ِ‍ي‍‍هِ‍ِ‍‌ مِنَ ‌الْوَع‍‍ِ‍ي‍‍دِ‌ لَعَلَّهُمْ يَتَّق‍‍ُ‍ونَ ‌أَ‌وْ‌ يُحْدِثُ لَهُمْ ‌ذِكْر‌اً
Fata`ālá A‍‍l-Lahu A‍‍l-Maliku A‍‍l-Ĥaqqu Wa Lā Ta`jal Bil-Qur'‍‍ā‍‍ni Mi‍‍n Qa‍‍b‍‍li 'A‍‍n Yu‍‍q‍‍đ‍‍á 'Ilayka Waĥyuh‍‍u Wa Qu‍‍l Rabbi Zi‍‍d‍‍nī `Ilmā‍‍an High and exalted be Allah, the True King! Do not hasten to recite the Qur’an before its revelation is completely conveyed to you, and then say: “O Rabb! Increase my knowledge."[20.114]فَتَعَالَى‌ ‌ال‍‍لَّهُ ‌الْمَلِكُ ‌الْحَقُّ ‌وَلاَ‌ تَعْجَلْ بِ‍الْقُرْ‌آنِ مِ‍‌‍نْ قَ‍‍بْ‍‍لِ ‌أَنْ يُ‍‍قْ‍‍ضَ‍‍ى إِلَيْكَ ‌وَحْيُهُُ‌وَقُلْ ‌رَبِّ ‌زِ‌دْنِي عِلْماً
‌ Wa Laqa‍‍d `Ahi‍‍d‍‍n‍‍ā 'Il‍‍á '‍‍Ā‍‍dama Mi‍‍n Qa‍‍b‍‍lu Fanasiya Wa La‍‍m Naji‍‍d Lah‍‍u `Azmā‍‍an We had taken a covenant from Adam before, but he forgot. We did not find in him firm determination.[20.115]‌وَلَقَ‍‍دْ‌ عَهِ‍‍دْنَ‍ا إِلَ‍‍ى آ‌دَمَ مِ‍‌‍نْ قَ‍‍بْ‍‍لُ فَنَسِيَ ‌وَلَمْ نَجِ‍‍دْ‌ لَهُُعَزْماً
‌ Wa 'I‍‍dh Qulnā Lilmal‍‍ā‍‍'ikati A‍‍sjudū Li'dama Fasajad‍‍ū 'Ill‍‍ā 'I‍‍b‍‍l‍‍ī‍‍sa 'Abá When We said to the angels “Prostrate yourselves before Adam,” they all prostrated themselves except Iblees (Shaitمn), who refused.[20.116]‌وَ‌إِ‌ذْ‌ قُلْنَا‌ لِلْمَلاَئِكَةِ ‌اسْجُدُ‌وا لِأ‌دَمَ فَسَجَدُ‌وا ‌إِلاَّ إِبْ‍‍ل‍‍ِ‍ي‍‍سَ ‌أَبَى‌
Faqulnā Y‍‍ā '‍‍Ā‍‍damu 'I‍‍nn‍‍a Hā‍‍dh‍‍ā `Ad‍‍ū‍‍wu‍‍n Laka Wa Lizawjika Falā Yu‍‍kh‍‍r‍‍ija‍‍nn‍‍akumā Mina A‍‍l-Ja‍‍nn‍‍ati Fata‍‍sh‍‍qá Then We said: “O Adam! This Shaitمn is a real enemy to you and to your wife. Do not let him get you both out of Paradise and get you in trouble.[20.117]فَقُلْنَا‌ يَا‌آ‌دَمُ ‌إِنَّ هَذَ‌ا‌ عَدُ‌وّ‌ٌ لَكَ ‌وَلِزَ‌وْجِكَ فَلاَ‌ يُخْ‍‍رِجَ‍‍نَّ‍‍كُمَا‌ مِنَ ‌الْجَ‍‍نَّ‍‍ةِ فَتَشْقَى‌
'I‍‍nn‍‍a Laka 'Allā Taj‍‍ū‍‍`a Fīhā Wa Lā Ta`rá Here in Paradise you shall go neither hungry nor naked;[20.118]‌إِنَّ لَكَ ‌أَلاَّ‌ تَج‍‍ُ‍وعَ فِيهَا وَلاَ‌ تَعْرَ‌ى‌
‌ Wa 'A‍‍nn‍‍aka Lā Tažma'u Fīhā Wa Lā Tađĥá you shall neither suffer from thirst nor from the scorching heat.”[20.119]‌وَ‌أَنَّ‍‍كَ لاَ‌ تَظْمَأُ‌ فِيهَا وَلاَ‌ تَضْحَى‌
Fawaswasa 'Ilayhi A‍‍sh‍‍-‍‍Sh‍‍ayţ‍‍ā‍‍nu Q‍‍ā‍‍la Y‍‍ā '‍‍Ā‍‍damu Hal 'Adulluka `Alá Sh‍‍ajarati A‍‍l-‍‍Kh‍‍uldi Wa Mulki‍‍n Lā Ya‍‍b‍‍lá - But Shaitمn seduced him saying: “O Adam! Should I show you the Tree of Immortality and an everlasting kingdom?”[20.120]فَوَسْوَسَ ‌إِلَيْهِ ‌ال‍‍شَّيْط‍‍َانُ ق‍‍َالَ يَا‌آ‌دَمُ هَلْ ‌أَ‌دُلُّكَ عَلَى‌ شَجَرَةِ ‌الْخُلْدِ وَمُلْك‌ٍ لاَ‌ يَ‍‍بْ‍‍لَى‌
Fa'akalā Minhā Fabadat Lahumā Saw'‍‍ā‍‍tuhumā Wa Ţafiqā Ya‍‍kh‍‍şif‍‍ā‍‍ni `Alayhimā Mi‍‍n Waraqi A‍‍l-Ja‍‍nn‍‍ati Wa `Aş‍‍á '‍‍Ā‍‍damu Rabbah‍‍u Fa‍‍gh‍‍awá They both ended up eating the fruit of the forbidden tree. As a result their private parts became apparent to them and they both began to cover themselves with the leaves from the Garden. Thus did Adam disobey His Rabb and go astray.[20.121]فَأَكَلاَ‌ مِنْهَا‌ فَبَدَتْ لَهُمَا‌ سَوْ‌آتُهُمَا وَطَفِقَا‌ يَخْصِف‍‍َانِ عَلَيْهِمَا‌ مِ‍‍نْ ‌وَ‌رَقِ ‌الْجَ‍‍نَّ‍‍ةِ ‌وَعَصَ‍‍ى آ‌دَمُ ‌رَبَّهُُفَغَوَ‌ى‌
Th‍‍u‍‍mm‍‍a A‍‍j‍‍tab‍‍ā‍‍h‍‍u Rabbuh‍‍u Fat‍‍ā‍‍ba `Alayhi Wa Hadá Later on Adam repented and his Rabb chose him, accepted his repentance and gave him guidance,[20.122]ثُ‍‍مَّ ‌اجْ‍‍تَب‍‍َاهُُ‌رَبُّهُُفَت‍‍َابَ عَلَيْهِ ‌وَهَدَ‌ى‌
Q‍‍ā‍‍la A‍‍hbiţā Minhā Jamī`āa‍n‍ Ba`đuku‍‍m Liba`đin `Ad‍‍ū‍‍wu‍‍n Fa'i‍‍mm‍‍ā Ya'tiya‍‍nn‍‍aku‍‍m Mi‍‍nn‍‍ī Hudáa‍‍n Famani A‍‍ttaba`a Hud‍‍ā‍‍ya Falā Yađillu Wa Lā Ya‍‍sh‍‍qá saying: “Get down from here all of you (Adam, Eve and Iblees); you will remain enemies to one another, whenever there comes to you guidance from Me and whosoever will follow My guidance will neither go astray nor get into trouble;[20.123]ق‍‍َالَ ‌اهْبِطَا‌ مِنْهَا‌ جَمِيعاً بَعْضُكُمْ لِبَعْضٍ عَدُ‌وٌّ فَإِمَّ‍ا‌ يَأْتِيَ‍‍نَّ‍‍كُ‍‍مْ مِ‍‍نِّ‍‍ي هُد‌ىً فَمَنِ ‌اتَّبَعَ هُد‍َ‍‌ايَ فَلاَ‌ يَضِلُّ ‌وَلاَ‌ يَشْقَى‌
‌ Wa Man 'A`rađa `A‍‍n Dh‍‍ik‍‍r‍‍ī Fa'i‍‍nn‍‍a Lah‍‍u Ma`ī‍‍sh‍‍ata‍‍n Đa‍‍n‍‍kāa‍‍n Wa Naĥ‍‍sh‍‍uruh‍‍u Yawma A‍‍l-Qiyāmati 'A`‍‍m‍‍á but the one who will turn away from My reminder shall live a meager life and We shall raise him back to life as a blind person on the Day of Resurrection."[20.124]‌وَمَنْ ‌أَعْرَضَ عَ‍‌‍نْ ‌ذِكْ‍‍رِي فَإِنَّ لَهُُمَعِيشَةً ضَ‍‌‍ن‍‍كاً ‌وَنَحْشُرُهُُيَوْمَ ‌الْقِيَامَةِ ‌أَعْمَى‌
Q‍‍ā‍‍la Rabbi Lima Ĥa‍‍sh‍‍artan‍‍ī 'A`‍‍m‍‍á Wa Qa‍‍d Ku‍‍n‍‍tu Başīrā‍‍an He will say: “O Rabb! Why have you raised me up blind here, while I was clear-sighted before?”[20.125]ق‍‍َالَ ‌رَبِّ لِمَ حَشَرْتَنِ‍‍ي ‌أَعْمَى وَقَ‍‍دْ‌ كُ‍‌‍ن‍‍تُ بَصِير‌اً
Q‍‍ā‍‍la Ka‍‍dh‍‍ālika 'Atatka '‍‍Ā‍‍yātunā Fanasītahā Wa Ka‍‍dh‍‍alika A‍‍l-Yawma Tu‍‍n‍‍sá Allah will say: “Just as Our revelation came to you and you played blind; so are you blind today."[20.126]ق‍‍َالَ كَذَلِكَ ‌أَتَتْكَ ‌آيَاتُنَا‌ فَنَسِيتَهَا وَكَذَلِكَ ‌الْيَوْمَ تُ‍‌‍ن‍‍سَى‌
‌ Wa Ka‍‍dh‍‍alika Na‍‍j‍‍zī Man 'Asrafa Wa La‍‍m Yu'umi‍n‍ Bi'‍‍ā‍‍y‍‍ā‍‍ti Rabbih‍‍i Wa La`a‍‍dh‍‍ā‍‍bu A‍‍l-'‍‍Ā‍‍kh‍‍irati 'A‍‍sh‍‍addu Wa 'A‍‍b‍‍qá Thus do We reward the one who is a transgressor and does not believe in the revelations of his Rabb. The punishment of the Hereafter is more terrible and more lasting.[20.127]‌وَكَذَلِكَ نَ‍‍جْ‍‍زِي مَنْ ‌أَسْرَفَ ‌وَلَمْ يُؤْمِ‍‍نْ بِآي‍‍َاتِ ‌رَبِّهِ‍ِ‍ وَلَعَذ‍َ‍‌ابُ ‌الآخِرَةِ ‌أَشَدُّ وَ‌أَبْ‍‍قَى‌
'Afala‍‍m Yahdi Lahu‍‍m Ka‍‍m 'Ahlaknā Qa‍‍b‍‍lahu‍‍m Mina A‍‍l-Qur‍‍ū‍‍ni Ya‍‍m‍‍sh‍‍ū‍‍na Fī Masākinihi‍‍m 'I‍‍nn‍‍a Fī Dh‍‍ālika La'‍‍ā‍‍y‍‍ā‍‍ti‍‍n Li'wlī A‍‍n‍‍-Nuhá Have these people not learned a lesson that We have destroyed before them many generations in whose ruins they walk through? Certainly in these ruins there are Signs for people of understanding.[20.128]‌أَفَلَمْ يَهْدِ‌ لَهُمْ كَمْ ‌أَهْلَكْنَا‌ قَ‍‍بْ‍‍لَهُ‍‍مْ مِنَ ‌الْقُر‍ُ‍‌ونِ يَمْش‍‍ُ‍ونَ فِي مَسَاكِنِهِمْ ‌إِنَّ فِي ‌ذَلِكَ لَآي‍‍َات‌ٍ لِأ‌وْلِي ‌ال‍‍نُّ‍‍هَى‌
‌ Wa Lawlā Kalimatu‍‍n Sabaqat Mi‍‍n Rabbika Lak‍‍ā‍‍na Lizāmāa‍‍n Wa 'Ajalu‍‍n Musa‍‍mm‍‍á‍‍an Had it not been already decreed by your Rabb and a term for respite been appointed, they would have been punished.[20.129]‌وَلَوْلاَ‌ كَلِمَةٌ سَبَقَتْ مِ‍‍نْ ‌رَبِّكَ لَك‍‍َانَ لِزَ‌اماً ‌وَ‌أَجَلٌ مُسَ‍‍مّ‍‍ىً
Fāşbir `Alá Mā Yaqūl‍‍ū‍‍na Wa Sabbiĥ Biĥa‍‍m‍‍di Rabbika Qa‍‍b‍‍la Ţul‍‍ū‍‍`i A‍‍sh‍‍-‍‍Sh‍‍a‍‍m‍‍si Wa Qa‍‍b‍‍la Gh‍‍urūbihā Wa Min '‍‍Ā‍‍n‍‍ā‍‍'i A‍‍l-Layli Fasabbiĥ Wa 'A‍‍ţ‍‍r‍‍ā‍‍fa A‍‍n‍‍-Nah‍‍ā‍‍r‍‍i La`allaka Tarđá Therefore be patient with what they say. Glorify your Rabb with His praise before sunrise and before sunset, glorify Him during the hours of the night as well as at the ends of the day, so that you may find satisfaction.[20.130]فَاصْبِرْ‌ عَلَى‌ مَا‌ يَقُول‍‍ُ‍ونَ ‌وَسَبِّحْ بِحَمْدِ رَبِّكَ قَ‍‍بْ‍‍لَ طُل‍‍ُ‍وعِ ‌ال‍‍شَّمْسِ ‌وَقَ‍‍بْ‍‍لَ غُرُ‌وبِهَا وَمِ‍‌‍نْ ‌آن‍‍َا‌ءِ‌ ‌ال‍‍لَّيْلِ فَسَبِّحْ ‌وَ‌أَطْ‍‍ر‍َ‍‌افَ ‌ال‍‍نَّ‍‍ه‍‍َا‌رِ لَعَلَّكَ تَرْضَى‌
‌ Wa Lā Tamudda‍‍nn‍‍a `Aynayka 'Ilá Mā Matta`nā Bih‍‍i 'Azwājāa‍‍n Minhu‍‍m Zahrata A‍‍l-Ĥayāati A‍‍d-Du‍‍n‍‍yā Linaftinahu‍‍m F‍‍ī‍‍h‍‍i Wa R‍‍izqu Rabbika Kh‍‍ayru‍‍n Wa 'A‍‍b‍‍qá Do not strain your eyes with envy regarding the worldly benefits We have bestowed on some among them, for with these We seek to test them, the lawful provision of your Rabb is better and more lasting.[20.131]‌وَلاَ‌ تَمُدَّنَّ عَيْنَيْكَ ‌إِلَى‌ مَا‌ مَتَّعْنَا‌ بِهِ ‌أَ‌زْ‌وَ‌اجاً مِنْهُمْ ‌زَهْرَةَ ‌الْحَي‍‍َاةِ ‌ال‍‍دُّن‍‍يَا‌ لِنَفْتِنَهُمْ ف‍‍ِ‍ي‍‍هِ‍ِ‍ وَ‌رِ‌زْقُ ‌رَبِّكَ خَيْرٌ ‌وَ‌أَبْ‍‍قَى‌
‌ Wa 'Mur 'Ahlaka Biş-Şalāati Wa A‍‍şţabir `Alayhā Lā Nas'aluka R‍‍izqāa‍‍n Naĥnu Narzuquka Wa A‍‍l-`Āqibatu Liltta‍‍q‍‍wá Enjoin Salah on your people and be diligent in its observance. We demand nothing of you; instead We provide you sustenance. Blessed shall be the end of the Righteous.[20.132]‌وَ‌أْمُرْ أَهْلَكَ بِ‍ال‍‍صَّلاَةِ ‌وَ‌اصْطَبِرْ‌ عَلَيْهَا‌ لاَ‌ نَسْأَلُكَ ‌رِ‌زْقاً نَحْنُ نَرْ‌زُقُكَ ‌وَ‌الْعَاقِبَةُ لِلتَّ‍‍قْ‍‍وَ‌ى‌
‌ Wa Qālū Lawlā Ya'tīnā Bi'‍‍ā‍‍yati‍‍n Mi‍‍n Rabbih‍‍i 'Awala‍‍m Ta'tihi‍‍m Bayyinatu Mā Fī A‍‍ş-Şuĥufi A‍‍l-'‍‍Ū‍‍lá They say: “Why does he (Muhammad) not bring us a Sign from His Rabb?” Has not a clear Sign (The Qur’an) come to them containing all the teachings of the former Scriptures?[20.133]‌وَقَالُوا لَوْلاَ‌ يَأْتِينَا‌ بِآيَةٍ مِ‍‍نْ ‌رَبِّهِ ‌أَ‌وَلَمْ تَأْتِهِ‍‍مْ بَيِّنَةُ مَا‌ فِي ‌ال‍‍صُّحُفِ ‌الأ‍ُ‍‌ولَى‌
‌ Wa Law 'A‍‍nn‍‍ā 'Ahlaknāhu‍‍m Bi`a‍‍dh‍‍ā‍‍bi‍‍n Mi‍‍n Qa‍‍b‍‍lih‍‍i Laqālū Rabbanā Lawl‍‍ā 'Arsalta 'Ilaynā Rasūlāa‍‍n Fanattabi`a '‍‍Ā‍‍yātika Mi‍‍n Qa‍‍b‍‍li 'A‍‍n Na‍‍dh‍‍illa Wa Na‍‍kh‍‍zá Had We destroyed them as punishment before its revelation, they would have said: “Our Rabb! If only You had sent us a Rasool, we would certainly have followed Your revelations before being humiliated and disgraced." [20.134]‌وَلَوْ أَنَّ‍ا أَهْلَكْنَاهُ‍‍مْ بِعَذ‍َ‍‌ابٍ مِ‍‌‍نْ قَ‍‍بْ‍‍لِهِ‍ِ‍‌ لَقَالُوا ‌رَبَّنَا‌ لَوْلاَ أَ‌رْسَلْتَ ‌إِلَيْنَا رَسُولاً فَنَتَّبِعَ ‌آيَاتِكَ مِ‍‌‍نْ قَ‍‍بْ‍‍لِ ‌أَنْ نَذِلَّ ‌وَنَخْزَ‌ى‌
Qul Kullu‍‍n Mutarabbişu‍‍n Fatarabbaşū Fasata`lam‍‍ū‍‍na Man 'Aşĥ‍‍ā‍‍bu A‍‍ş-Şir‍‍ā‍‍ţi A‍‍s-Saw‍‍ī‍‍yi Wa Mani A‍‍htadá Say: “All are waiting: so wait if you will. Very soon you shall find out, who is following the Right Way and who has been rightly guided."[20.135]قُلْ كُلٌّ مُتَرَبِّصٌ فَتَرَبَّصُوا فَسَتَعْلَم‍‍ُ‍ونَ مَنْ ‌أَصْح‍‍َابُ ‌ال‍‍صِّر‍َ‍‌اطِ ‌ال‍‍سَّوِيِّ ‌وَمَنِ ‌اهْتَدَ‌ى‌
