Kāf-Hā-Yā-`Ayn-Şād Kf H' Y' Ayn Sud.[19.1] ----
Dhikru Raĥmati Rabbika `Abdahu Zakarīyā This is a reminder of blessings that your Rabb bestowed on His servant Zakariya,[19.2]
'Idh Nādá Rabbahu Nidā'an Khafīyāan when he invoked his Rabb in secret,[19.3]
Qāla Rabbi 'Innī Wahana Al-`Ažmu Minnī Wa Ashta`ala Ar-Ra'su Shaybāan Wa Lam 'Akun Bidu`ā'ika Rabbi Shaqīyāan saying: O Rabb! Surely my bones have weakened and the hair of my head glistens with grey, while I have never been disappointed in my prayer to You, O Rabb![19.4]
Wa 'Innī Khiftu Al-Mawāliya Min Warā'ī Wa Kānati Amra'atī `Āqirāan Fahab Lī Min Ladunka Walīyāan Surely, I fear about my relatives after me, for my wife is barren, grant me an heir by Your grace[19.5]
Yarithunī Wa Yarithu Min 'Āli Ya`qūba Wa Aj`alhu Rabbi Rađīyāan who should inherit me and inherit the posterity of Ya'qoob, and make him, O my Rabb, a desirable person![19.6]
Yā Zakarīyā 'Innā Nubashshiruka Bighulāmin Asmuhu Yaĥyá Lam Naj`al Lahu Min Qablu Samīyāan We answered his prayer saying: O Zakariya! Surely We give you the good news of a son, his name shall be Yahya (John): a name that no one has had before him.[19.7]
Qāla Rabbi 'Anná Yakūnu Lī Ghulāmun Wa Kānat Amra'atī `Āqirāan Wa Qad Balaghtu Mina Al-Kibari `Itīyāan He asked: O Rabb! How shall I have a son when my wife is barren and I have become impotent from old age?[19.8]
Qāla Kadhālika Qāla Rabbuka Huwa `Alayya Hayyinun Wa Qad Khalaqtuka Min Qablu Wa Lam Taku Shay'āan The answer came: So shall it be. Your Rabb says: It shall not be a difficult task for Me, just as I created you before, when you were nothing at all!"[19.9]
Qāla Rabbi Aj`al Lī 'Āyatan Qāla 'Āyatuka 'Allā Tukallima An-Nāsa Thalātha Layālin Sawīyāan Zakariya said O my Rabb! Give me a Sign. He said: Your sign is that for three nights you shall not be able to speak to the people even being sound in health.[19.10]
Fakharaja `Alá Qawmihi Mina Al-Miĥrābi Fa'awĥá 'Ilayhim 'An Sabbiĥū Bukratan Wa `Ashīyāan After this Zakariya came out of the shrine and asked his people, through sign language, to glorify Allah in the morning and in the evening.[19.11]
Yā Yaĥyá Khudhi Al-Kitāba Biqūwatin Wa 'Ātaynāhu Al-Ĥukma Şabīyāan To Yahya, when he became old enough, We said: Hold firmly to the Book." We granted him wisdom, while he was yet a boy,[19.12]
Wa Ĥanānāan Min Ladunnā Wa Zakāatan Wa Kāna Taqīyāan and also granted him kindness and purity by Our grace, and he grew up a pious man;[19.13]
Wa Barrāan Biwālidayhi Wa Lam Yakun Jabbārāan `Aşīyāan dutiful to his parents - he was neither arrogant nor disobedient.[19.14]
Wa Salāmun `Alayhi Yawma Wulida Wa Yawma Yamūtu Wa Yawma Yub`athu Ĥayyāan Peace be on him the day he was born, the day of his death and the Day he will be raised to life again![19.15]
Wa Adhkur Fī Al-Kitābi Maryama 'Idh Antabadhat Min 'Ahlihā Makānāan Sharqīyāan O Muhammad, relate to them the story of Maryam in the Book (The Qur'an) when she withdrew from her family to a place in the East.[19.16]
Fāttakhadhat Min Dūnihim Ĥijābāan Fa'arsalnā 'Ilayhā Rūĥanā Fatamaththala Lahā Basharāan Sawīyāan She chose to be secluded from them. We sent to her Our angel and he appeared before her as a grown man.[19.17]
Qālat 'Innī 'A`ūdhu Bir-Raĥmani Minka 'In Kunta Taqīyāan She said: I seek Rahmns (Allahs) protection against you, leave me alone if you are Godfearing.[19.18]
Qāla 'Innamā 'Anā Rasūlu Rabbiki Li'haba Laki Ghulāmāan Zakīyāan He said: Dont be afraid, I am merely a messenger from your Rabb to tell you about the gift of a holy son.[19.19]
Qālat 'Anná Yakūnu Lī Ghulāmun Wa Lam Yamsasnī Basharun Wa Lam 'Aku Baghīyāan She said: How shall I bear a son, no man has ever touched me nor am I unchaste?[19.20]
Qāla Kadhāliki Qāla Rabbuki Huwa `Alayya Hayyinun Wa Linaj`alahu 'Āyatan Lilnnāsi Wa Raĥmatan Minnā Wa Kāna 'Amrāan Maqđīyāan The angel replied: So shall it be - Your Rabb says: `It is easy for Me. We wish to make him a Sign for mankind and a blessing from Us - and this matter has already been decreed.[19.21]
Faĥamalat/hu Fāntabadhat Bihi Makānāan Qaşīyāan So she conceived the child and she retired with him to a remote place.[19.22]
Fa'ajā'ahā Al-Makhāđu 'Ilá Jidh`i An-Nakhlati Qālat Yā Laytanī Mittu Qabla Hādhā Wa Kuntu Nasyāan Mansīyāan The pains of childbirth drove her to the trunk of a palm-tree. She cried in her anguish: Ah! Would that I had died before this, and been long forgotten![19.23]
Fanādāhā Min Taĥtihā 'Allā Taĥzanī Qad Ja`ala Rabbuki Taĥtaki Sarīyāan An angel from beneath the palm-tree consoled her, saying: Do not grieve! Your Rabb has provided a brook at your feet.[19.24]
Wa Huzzī 'Ilayki Bijidh`i An-Nakhlati Tusāqiţ `Alayki Ruţabāan Janīyāan If you shake the trunk of this palm-tree, it will drop fresh ripe dates in your lap.[19.25]
Fakulī Wa Ashrabī Wa Qarrī `Aynāan Fa'immā Taraynna Mina Al-Bashari 'Aĥadāan Faqūlī 'Innī Nadhartu Lilrraĥmani Şawmāan Falan 'Ukallima Al-Yawma 'Insīyāan So eat, drink and refresh yourself. If you see anyone, tell him: `I have vowed a fast to Rahmn (Allah), so I will not speak to anyone today.[19.26]
Fa'atat Bihi Qawmahā Taĥmiluhu Qālū Yā Maryamu Laqad Ji'ti Shay'āan Farīyāan Carrying the baby, she came back to her people. They said: O Maryam! You have brought something hard to believe![19.27]
Yā 'Ukhta Hārūna Mā Kāna 'Abūki Amra'a Saw'in Wa Mā Kānat 'Ummuki Baghīyāan O sister (a woman from the noble family) of Haroon! Your father was not a bad man nor your mother an unchaste woman.[19.28]
Fa'ashārat 'Ilayhi Qālū Kayfa Nukallimu Man Kāna Fī Al-Mahdi Şabīyāan In response she merely pointed towards the baby. They said: How can we talk to a babe in the cradle?[19.29]
Qāla 'Innī `Abdu Al-Lahi 'Ātāniya Al-Kitāba Wa Ja`alanī Nabīyāan Whereupon the baby spoke out: I am indeed a servant of Allah. He has given me the Book and made me a Prophet.[19.30]
Wa Ja`alanī Mubārakāan 'Ayna Mā Kuntu Wa 'Awşānī Biş-Şalāati Wa Az-Zakāati Mā Dumtu Ĥayyāan His blessing is with me wherever I go. He has commanded me to establish Salah and give Zakah as long as I shall live.[19.31]
Wa Barrāan Biwālidatī Wa Lam Yaj`alnī Jabbārāan Shaqīyāan He has exhorted me to honor my mother and has not made me domineering, hard to deal with.[19.32]
Wa As-Salāmu `Alayya Yawma Wulidtu Wa Yawma 'Amūtu Wa Yawma 'Ub`athu Ĥayyāan Peace be upon me the day I was born, the day I shall die and the Day I shall be raised to life again.[19.33]
Dhālika `Īsá Abnu Maryama Qawla Al-Ĥaqqi Al-Ladhī Fīhi Yamtarūna Such was Isa (Jesus) the son of Maryam, and this is the True statement about him concerning which they are in doubt.[19.34]
Mā Kāna Lillahi 'An Yattakhidha Min Waladin Subĥānahu 'Idhā Qađá 'Amrāan Fa'innamā Yaqūlu Lahu Kun Fayakūnu It is not befitting to the majesty of Allah that He Himself should beget a son! He is far above this; for when He decrees a matter He need only say: Be and it is.[19.35] ~
Wa 'Inna Al-Laha Rabbī Wa Rabbukum Fā`budūhu Hādhā Şirāţun Mustaqīmun Isa declared, Verily Allah is my Rabb and your Rabb: therefore serve Him. This is the Right Way.[19.36]
khtalafa Al-'Aĥzābu Min Baynihim Fawaylun Lilladhīna Kafarū Min Mash/hadi Yawmin `Ažīmin Inspite of this, the sects from among them are divided concerning Jesus. So woe to the disbelievers who shall be punished after witnessing this Truth on the Great Day of Judgement.[19.37]
'Asmi` Bihim Wa 'Abşir Yawma Ya'tūnanā Lakini Až-Žālimūna Al-Yawma Fī Đalālin Mubīnin They will be able to see and hear very clearly on that Day when they will appear before Us! But today these wrong doers, neither want to hear nor see the Truth and, are in manifest error.[19.38]
Wa 'Andhirhum Yawma Al-Ĥasrati 'Idh Quđiya Al-'Amru Wa HumGhaflatin Wa Hum Lā Yu'uminūna O Muhammad, forewarn them about the Day of intense regret when this matter will be decided, even though at present they are paying no heed and do not believe.[19.39]
'Innā Naĥnu Narithu Al-'Arđa Wa Man `Alayhā Wa 'Ilaynā Yurja`ūna Ultimately, all things will perish and it is We, Who will inherit the earth and all that is on it, and to Us shall they return.[19.40]
Wa Adhkur Fī Al-Kitābi 'Ibrāhīma 'Innahu Kāna Şiddīqāan Nabīyāan Relate to them the story of Ibrhm from the Book (The Qur'an), he was a truthful Prophet.[19.41]
'Idh Qāla Li'abīhi Yā 'Abati Lima Ta`budu Mā Lā Yasma`u Wa Lā Yubşiru Wa Lā Yughnī `Anka Shay'āan Remember when he said to his father: O my father! Why do you worship something that can neither hear nor see, nor yet profit you in any way?[19.42]
Yā 'Abati 'Innī Qad Jā'anī Mina Al-`Ilmi Mā Lam Ya'tika Fa Attabi`nī 'Ahdika Şirāţāan Sawīyāan O my father! I have been given some knowledge which has not come to you, so follow me: Ill guide you to the Right Way.[19.43]
Yā 'Abati Lā Ta`budi Ash-Shayţāna 'Inna Ash-Shayţāna Kāna Lilrraĥmani `Aşīyāan O my father! Do not worship Shaitn: for Shaitn is disobedient to the Compassionate (Allah).[19.44]
Yā 'Abati 'Innī 'Akhāfu 'An Yamassaka `Adhābun Mina Ar-Raĥmāni Fatakūna Lilshshayţāni Walīyāan O my father! I fear that a punishment of the Beneficent may afflict you, and you may become a friend of the Shaitn.[19.45]
Qāla 'Arāghibun 'Anta `An 'Ālihatī Yā 'Ibrāhīmu La'in Lam Tantahi La'arjumannaka Wa Ahjurnī Malīyāan His father replied: How dare you renounce my gods O Ibrhm? If you do not stop this folly, I will indeed stone you to death: so begone from my house this very moment![19.46]
Qāla Salāmun `Alayka Sa'astaghfiru Laka Rabbī 'Innahu Kāna Bī Ĥafīyāan Ibrhm said: Peace be upon you: I will pray to my Rabb for your forgiveness, surely He is ever Kind to me.[19.47]
Wa 'A`tazilukum Wa Mā Tad`ūna Min Dūni Al-Lahi Wa 'Ad`ū Rabbī `Asá 'Allā 'Akūna Bidu`ā'i Rabbī Shaqīyāan I am leaving you and those whom you invoke besides Allah: I will call upon my Rabb and I am sure my prayers to my Rabb will not be ignored.[19.48]
Falammā A`tazalahum Wa Mā Ya`budūna Min Dūni Al-Lahi Wahabnā Lahu 'Isĥāqa Wa Ya`qūba Wa Kullā Ja`alnā Nabīyāan So when he left them and the deities whom they worshipped besides Allah, We granted him descendants like Ishq and Ya'qoob, and We made each of them a Prophet.[19.49] ~
Wa Wahabnā Lahum Min Raĥmatinā Wa Ja`alnā Lahum Lisāna Şidqin `Alīyāan We bestowed on them Our Mercy and We granted them the honor of being mentioned with true high respect.[19.50]
Wa Adhkur Fī Al-Kitābi Mūsá 'Innahu Kāna Mukhlaşāan Wa Kāna Rasūlāan Nabīyāan Relate to them the story of Musa in the Book; surely he was a chosen man and was a Rasool, a Prophet.[19.51]
Wa Nādaynāhu Min Jānibi Aţūri Al-'Aymani Wa Qarrabnāhu Najīyāan We called him from the right side of Mount Tr and honored him to come closer for exclusive conversation.[19.52]
Wa Wahabnā Lahu Min Raĥmatinā 'Akhāhu Hārūna Nabīyāan We made his brother Haroon a Prophet with Our blessing and assigned him as his assistant.[19.53]
Wa Adhkur Fī Al-Kitābi 'Ismā`īla 'Innahu Kāna Şādiqa Al-Wa`di Wa Kāna Rasūlāan Nabīyāan Also relate to them the story of Isma`il in the Book; he was a man of his word and was a Rasool, a Prophet.[19.54]
Wa Kāna Ya'muru 'Ahlahu Biş-Şalāati Wa Az-Zakāati Wa Kāna `Inda Rabbihi Marđīyāan He commanded his people to establish Salah and give Zakah, and was the one with whom his Rabb was well pleased.[19.55]
Wa Adhkur Fī Al-Kitābi 'Idrīsa 'Innahu Kāna Şiddīqāan Nabīyāan Also relate to them the story of Idrs in the Book; he was a Truthful man, a Prophet,[19.56]
Wa Rafa`nāhu Makānāan `Alīyāan whom We raised to a lofty place.[19.57]
'Ūlā'ika Al-Ladhīna 'An`ama Al-Lahu `Alayhim Mina An-Nabīyīna Min Dhurrīyati 'Ādama Wa Mimman Ĥamalnā Ma`a Nūĥin Wa Min Dhurrīyati 'Ibrāhīma Wa 'Isrā'īla Wa Mimman Hadaynā Wa Ajtabaynā 'Idhā Tutlá `Alayhim 'Āyātu Ar-Raĥmāni Kharrū Sujjadāan Wa Bukīyāan These are some of the Prophets on whom Allah bestowed His favors from among the descendants of Adam and of those whom We carried in the Ark with Nh, and of the descendants of Ibrhm and Israel, and of those whom We guided and chose. Whenever the Revelations of the Compassionate (Allah) were recited to them, they fell to prostrate and weep.[19.58]
Fakhalafa Min Ba`dihim Khalfun 'Ađā`ū Aş-Şalāata Wa Attaba`ū Ash-Shahawāti Fasawfa Yalqawna Ghayyāan But the generations who succeeded them abandoned the Salah and started following their lusts; so they will soon face the consequences of their deviation.[19.59]
'Illā Man Tāba Wa 'Āmana Wa `Amila Şāliĥāan Fa'ūlā'ika Yadkhulūna Al-Jannata Wa Lā Yužlamūna Shay'āan However, those who repent, become believers and do good deeds, will be admitted to Paradise and will not be wronged in the least.[19.60]
Jannāti `Adnin Allatī Wa`ada Ar-Raĥmānu `Ibādahu Bil-Ghaybi 'Innahu Kāna Wa`duhu Ma'tīyāan They will be granted the Gardens of Eden which the Merciful has promised to His servants, even though they have not seen them, and His promise shall be fulfilled.[19.61]
Lā Yasma`ūna Fīhā Laghwan 'Illā Salāmāan Wa Lahum Rizquhum Fīhā Bukratan Wa `Ashīyāan There they will hear no nonsense, but only the words of peace; and they will be provided their sustenance day and night.[19.62]
Tilka Al-Jannatu Allatī Nūrithu Min `Ibādinā Man Kāna Taqīyāan Such is the Paradise which We shall give as an inheritance to those of Our Servants who lead a pious life.[19.63]
Wa Mā Natanazzalu 'Illā Bi'amri Rabbika Lahu Mā Bayna 'Aydīnā Wa Mā Khalfanā Wa Mā Bayna Dhālika Wa Mā Kāna Rabbuka Nasīyāan The angel Gabriel who brought this revelation after a long interval said: We do not descend from heaven except by the command of your Rabb; to Him belongs whatever is before us and whatever is behind us and all that lies in between. Your Rabb is never forgetful.[19.64]
Rabbu As-Samāwāti Wa Al-'Arđi Wa Mā Baynahumā Fā`bud/hu Wa Aşţabir Li`ibādatihi Hal Ta`lamu Lahu Samīyāan He is the Rabb of the heavens and the earth, and of all that lies in between, so worship Him, be steadfast in His worship. Do you know any other being with the qualities like Him?[19.65]
Wa Yaqūlu Al-'Insānu 'A'idhā Mā Mittu Lasawfa 'Ukhraju Ĥayyāan Man says: What! Once I am dead, shall I be raised to life again?[19.66]
'Awalā Yadhkuru Al-'Insānu 'Annā Khalaqnāhu Min Qablu Wa Lam Yaku Shay'āan Does not man remember that We created him before out of nothing?[19.67]
Fawarabbika Lanaĥshurannahum Wa Ash-Shayāţīna Thumma Lanuĥđirannahum Ĥawla Jahannama Jithīyāan By your Rabb, We will call them to account in the company of all their shaitns and set them on their knees around the Fire of Hell;[19.68]
Thumma Lananzi`anna Min Kulli Shī`atin 'Ayyuhum 'Ashaddu `Alá Ar-Raĥmāni `Itīyāan then from every sect We will certainly drag out its stoutest rebels against the Compassionate (Allah).[19.69]
Thumma Lanaĥnu 'A`lamu Bial-Ladhīna Hum 'Awlá Bihā Şilīyāan Certainly We know best who deserves most to be burned therein.[19.70]
Wa 'In Minkum 'Illā Wa Ariduhā Kāna `Alá Rabbika Ĥatmāan Maqđīyāan There is not a single one of you, who shall not pass over it, this absolute decree of your Rabb is unavoidable;[19.71]
Thumma Nunajjī Al-Ladhīna Attaqaw Wa Nadharu Až-Žālimīna Fīhā Jithīyāan then We will deliver those who were pious during their life on earth and leave the wrongdoers therein humbled on their knees.[19.72]
Wa 'Idhā Tutlá `Alayhim 'Āyātunā Bayyinātin Qāla Al-Ladhīna Kafarū Lilladhīna 'Āmanū 'Ayyu Al-Farīqayni Khayrun Maqāmāan Wa 'Aĥsanu Nadīyāan When Our Clear Revelations are recited to them the unbelievers say to the believer: Which one, of the two of us, have fine dwelling and better companions?[19.73]
Wa Kam 'Ahlaknā Qablahum Min Qarnin Hum 'Aĥsanu 'Athāthāan Wa Ri'yāan Dont they see, how many generations have We destroyed before them, who were far greater in riches and in splendor?[19.74]
Qul Man Kāna Fī Ađ-Đalālati Falyamdud Lahu Ar-Raĥmānu Maddāan Ĥattá 'Idhā Ra'aw Mā Yū`adūna 'Immā Al-`Adhāba Wa 'Immā As-Sā`ata Fasaya`lamūna Man Huwa Sharrun Makānāan Wa 'Ađ`afu Junan Tell them: Anyone who has gone astray, the Compassionate (Allah) prolongs his respite and extends an opportunity until they see about which they were warned; - be it a worldly scourge or the Hour of Doom - then they will realize whose is the worst dwelling and whose are the weak companions?[19.75]
Wa Yazīdu Al-Lahu Al-Ladhīna Ahtadaw Hudáan Wa Al-Bāqiyātu Aş-Şāliĥātu Khayrun `Inda Rabbika Thawābāan Wa Khayrun Maraddāan In fact, Allah increases in guidance those who seek guidance; everlasting are only the good deeds, which are the best in the sight of your Rabb to earn you a better reward and yield you the best fruit?[19.76]
'Afara'ayta Al-Ladhī Kafara Bi'āyātinā Wa Qāla La'ūtayanna Mālāan Wa Waladāan Have you noticed the words of that person who rejects Our Revelations yet boasts: I shall always be given wealth and children.[19.77]
'Āţţala`a Al-Ghayba 'Am Attakhadha `Inda Ar-Raĥmāni `Ahdāan Has he gained knowledge of the Unseen or has he been awarded a contract by the Compassionate (Allah)?[19.78]
Kallā Sanaktubu Mā Yaqūlu Wa Namuddu Lahu Mina Al-`Adhābi Maddāan By no means! We write down what he says and We will make his punishment long and terrible.[19.79]
Wa Narithuhu Mā Yaqūlu Wa Ya'tīnā Fardāan We will inherit all that he boasts of, and he will come back to Us all alone leaving all these things behind.[19.80]
Wa Attakhadhū Min Dūni Al-Lahi 'Ālihatan Liyakūnū Lahum `Izzāan They have taken other deities for worship besides Allah, so that they should be a source of strength to them.[19.81]
Kallā Sayakfurūna Bi`ibādatihim Wa Yakūnūna `Alayhim Điddāan By no means! Those very deities will renounce their worship and turn against them on the Day of Judgement.[19.82]
'Alam Tara 'Annā 'Arsalnā Ash-Shayāţīna `Alá Al-Kāfirīna Ta'uuzzuhum 'Azzāan Dont you see that We have sent down to the unbelievers shaitns who incite them against the Truth?[19.83]
Falā Ta`jal `Alayhim 'Innamā Na`uddu Lahum `Addāan Therefore be not in haste against them, their days are numbered.[19.84]
Yawma Naĥshuru Al-Muttaqīna 'Ilá Ar-Raĥmāni Wafdāan The Day will surely come when We will gather the righteous like honored guests before the Compassionate (Allah),[19.85]
Wa Nasūqu Al-Mujrimīna 'Ilá Jahannama Wiran and drive the criminals to Hell like thirsty cattle are driven to water.[19.86]
Lā Yamlikūna Ash-Shafā`ata 'Illā Mani Attakhadha `Inda Ar-Raĥmāni `Ahdāan None shall have the power to intercede except the one who may receive the sanction of the Compassionate (Allah).[19.87]
Wa Qālū Attakhadha Ar-Raĥmānu Waladāan Those who say: The Compassionate (God) has begotten a son,[19.88]
Laqad Ji'tum Shay'āan 'Iddāan certainly preach such a monstrous falsehood,[19.89]
Takādu As-Samāwātu Yatafaţţarna Minhu Wa Tanshaqqu Al-'Arđu Wa Takhirru Al-Jibālu Haddāan that the very Heavens might crack, the earth might cleave asunder and the mountains might crumble to pieces[19.90]
'An Da`aw Lilrraĥmani Waladāan - at their ascribing a son to the Compassionate (God),[19.91]
Wa Mā Yanbaghī Lilrraĥmani 'An Yattakhidha Waladāan It is not befitting to the Compassionate (God) that He should beget a son.[19.92]
'In Kullu Man As-Samāwāti Wa Al-'Arđi 'Illā 'Ā Ar-Raĥmāni `Aban There is none in the heavens and in the earth but must come to the Compassionate (Allah) in full submission.[19.93]
Laqad 'Aĥşāhum Wa `Addahum `Addāan He has a comprehensive knowledge and has kept strict count of all His creatures,[19.94]
Wa Kulluhum 'Ātīhi Yawma Al-Qiyāmati Fardāan and every one of them will come to Him individually on the Day of Resurrection.[19.95]
'Inna Al-Ladhīna 'Āmanū Wa `Amilū Aş-Şāliĥāti Sayaj`alu Lahumu Ar-Raĥmānu Wuddāan Surely the Beneficent will bring about love for those who believe and do good deeds.[19.96]
Fa'innamā Yassarnāhu Bilisānika Litubashshira Bihi Al-Muttaqīna Wa Tundhira Bihi Qawmāan Luddāan We have made this Quran easy in your own language so that you may give good news to the righteous and warn the headstrong contentious folk.[19.97]
Wa Kam 'Ahlaknā Qablahum Min Qarnin Hal Tuĥissu Minhum Min 'Aĥadin 'Aw Tasma`u Lahum Rikzāan How many generations have We destroyed before them! Can you see any of them, or hear even a sound of them?[19.98]
