'Alif-Lām-Rā Tilka 'Āyātu Al-Kitābi Wa Qur'ānin Mubīnin  | Alif L'مm Rم. These are the verses of the Divine Book, the Glorious Qur’an which makes the things clear.[15.1] | أَلِف-لَام-رَا تِلْكَ آيَاتُ الْكِتَابِ وَقُرْآن ٍ مُبِين ٍ |
Rubamā Yawaddu Al-Ladhīna Kafarū Law Kānū Muslimīna  | The Day will come when the unbelievers will wish that they were Muslims.[15.2] | رُبَمَا يَوَدُّ الَّذِينَ كَفَرُوا لَوْ كَانُوا مُسْلِمِينَ |
Dharhum Ya'kulū Wa Yatamatta`ū Wa Yulhihimu Al-'Amalu Fasawfa Ya`lamūna  | Leave them alone to eat and enjoy themselves and be deluded by false hopes, for soon they will find out the Truth.[15.3] | ذَرْهُمْ يَأْكُلُوا وَيَتَمَتَّعُوا وَيُلْهِهِمُ الأَمَلُ فَسَوْفَ يَعْلَمُونَ |
Wa Mā 'Ahlaknā Min Qaryatin 'Illā Wa Lahā Kitābun Ma`lūmun  | Never did We destroy a town whose term of life was not ordained beforehand.[15.4] | وَمَا أَهْلَكْنَا مِنْ قَرْيَة ٍ إِلاَّ وَلَهَا كِتَاب ٌ مَعْلُوم ٌ |
Mā Tasbiqu Min 'Ummatin 'Ajalahā Wa Mā Yasta'khirūna  | No people can forestall their doom, nor can they postpone it.[15.5] | مَا تَسْبِقُ مِنْ أُمَّةٍ أَجَلَهَا وَمَا يَسْتَأْخِرُونَ |
Wa Qālū Yā 'Ayyuhā Al-Ladhī Nuzzila `Alayhi Adh-Dhikru 'Innaka Lamajnūnun  | They say: “O you to whom the reminder (The Qur'an) is being revealed! You are surely insane.[15.6] | وَقَالُوا يَا أَيُّهَا الَّذِي نُزِّلَ عَلَيْهِ الذِّكْرُ إِنَّكَ لَمَجْنُون ٌ |
Law Mā Ta'tīnā Bil-Malā'ikati 'In Kunta Mina Aş-Şādiqīna  | Why don’t you bring us the angels, if you are of the truthful ones?”[15.7] | لَوْ مَا تَأْتِينَا بِالْمَلاَئِكَةِ إِنْ كُنْتَ مِنَ الصَّادِقِينَ |
Mā Nunazzilu Al-Malā'ikata 'Illā Bil-Ĥaqqi Wa Mā Kānū 'Idhāan Munžarīna  | O Muhammad, tell them: "We do not send down the angels except for just cause (to execute Our scourge), and when they come, people are not given respite.[15.8] | مَا نُنَزِّلُ الْمَلاَئِكَةَ إِلاَّ بِالْحَقِّ وَمَا كَانُوا إِذا ً مُنْظَرِينَ |
'Innā Naĥnu Nazzalnā Adh-Dhikra Wa 'Innā Lahu Laĥāfižūna  | Surely We have revealed this reminder (The Qur'an); and We will surely preserve it Ourself.[15.9] | إِنَّا نَحْنُ نَزَّلْنَا الذِّكْرَ وَإِنَّا لَه ُُ لَحَافِظُونَ |
Wa Laqad 'Arsalnā Min Qablika Fī Shiya`i Al-'Awwalīna  | Certainly We sent Rasools before you among the early nations;[15.10] | وَلَقَدْ أَرْسَلْنَا مِنْ قَبْلِكَ فِي شِيَعِ الأَوَّلِينَ |
Wa Mā Ya'tīhim Min Rasūlin 'Illā Kānū Bihi Yastahzi'ūna  | but whenever a Rasool came to them, they mocked him.[15.11] | وَمَا يَأْتِيهِمْ مِنْ رَسُول ٍ إِلاَّ كَانُوا بِه ِِ يَسْتَهْزِئُونَ |
Kadhālika Naslukuhu Fī Qulūbi Al-Mujrimīna  | Thus do We let doubt creep into the hearts of the criminals;[15.12] | كَذَلِكَ نَسْلُكُه ُُ فِي قُلُوبِ الْمُجْرِمِينَ |
Lā Yu'uminūna Bihi Wa Qad Khalat Sunnatu Al-'Awwalīna  | that they do not believe in it (The Qur'an), despite the examples of the people who passed before them.[15.13] | لاَ يُؤْمِنُونَ بِه ِِ وَقَدْ خَلَتْ سُنَّةُ الأَوَّلِينَ |
Wa Law Fataĥnā `Alayhim Bābāan Mina As-Samā'i Fažallū Fīhi Ya`rujūna  | Even if we had opened a gate in Heaven and they ascend through it and keep on ascending,[15.14] | وَلَوْ فَتَحْنَا عَلَيْهِمْ بَابا ً مِنَ السَّمَاءِ فَظَلُّوا فِيه ِِ يَعْرُجُونَ |
Laqālū 'Innamā Sukkirat 'Abşārunā Bal Naĥnu Qawmun Masĥūrūna  | still they would have said, 'Our eyes have been dazzled; rather we have been bewitched.'"[15.15] | لَقَالُوا إِنَّمَا سُكِّرَتْ أَبْصَارُنَا بَلْ نَحْنُ قَوْم ٌ مَسْحُورُونَ |
Wa Laqad Ja`alnā Fī As-Samā'i Burūjāan Wa Zayyannāhā Lilnnāžirīna  | It is We who have decked the heavens with constellations and made them fair-seeming for the beholders;[15.16] | وَلَقَدْ جَعَلْنَا فِي السَّمَاءِ بُرُوجا ً وَزَيَّنَّاهَا لِلنَّاظِرِينَ |
Wa Ĥafižnāhā Min Kulli Shayţānin Rajīmin  | and We have guarded them from every accursed shaitمn.[15.17] | وَحَفِظْنَاهَا مِنْ كُلِّ شَيْطَان ٍ رَجِيم ٍ |
'Illā Mani Astaraqa As-Sam`a Fa'atba`ahu Shihābun Mubīnun  | Any shaitمn that steals a hearing, there follows him a fiery comet.[15.18] | إِلاَّ مَنِ اسْتَرَقَ السَّمْعَ فَأَتْبَعَه ُُ شِهَاب ٌ مُبِين ٌ |
Wa Al-'Arđa Madadnāhā Wa 'Alqaynā Fīhā Rawāsiya Wa 'Anbatnā Fīhā Min Kulli Shay'in Mawzūnin  | We have spread out the earth and set mountains upon it; and caused to grow every suitable thing therein,[15.19] | وَالأَرْضَ مَدَدْنَاهَا وَأَلْقَيْنَا فِيهَا رَوَاسِيَ وَأَنْبَتْنَا فِيهَا مِنْ كُلِّ شَيْء ٍ مَوْزُون ٍ |
Wa Ja`alnā Lakum Fīhā Ma`āyisha Wa Man Lastum Lahu Birāziqīna  | and We provided therein means of sustenance for you and many other creatures to whom you do not provide.[15.20] | وَجَعَلْنَا لَكُمْ فِيهَا مَعَايِشَ وَمَنْ لَسْتُمْ لَه ُُ بِرَازِقِينَ |
Wa 'In Min Shay'in 'Illā `Indanā Khazā'inuhu Wa Mā Nunazziluhu 'Illā Biqadarin Ma`lūmin  | There is nothing which is not in Our inexhaustible treasure and sent down in appropriate measure.[15.21] | وَإِنْ مِنْ شَيْء ٍ إِلاَّ عِنْدَنَا خَزَائِنُه ُُ وَمَا نُنَزِّلُهُ~ُ إِلاَّ بِقَدَر ٍ مَعْلُوم ٍ |
Wa 'Arsalnā Ar-Riyāĥa Lawāqiĥa Fa'anzalnā Mina As-Samā'i Mā'an Fa'asqaynākumūhu Wa Mā 'Antum Lahu Bikhāzinīna  | We send the fertilizing winds and send down water from the sky for you to drink; it is not you who hold the storage of this wealth.[15.22] | وَأَرْسَلْنَا الرِّيَاحَ لَوَاقِحَ فَأَنْزَلْنَا مِنَ السَّمَاءِ مَاء ً فَأَسْقَيْنَاكُمُوه ُُ وَمَا أَنْتُمْ لَه ُُ بِخَازِنِينَ |
Wa 'Innā Lanaĥnu Nuĥyī Wa Numītu Wa Naĥnu Al-Wārithūna  | Certainly it is We Who give life and cause to die, and We are the inheritors of all.[15.23] | وَإِنَّا لَنَحْنُ نُحْيِي وَنُمِيتُ وَنَحْنُ الْوَارِثُونَ |
Wa Laqad `Alimnā Al-Mustaqdimīna Minkum Wa Laqad `Alimnā Al-Musta'khirīna  | Certainly We have full knowledge of those who have gone before you and certainly We know those who will come later.[15.24] | وَلَقَدْ عَلِمْنَا الْمُسْتَقْدِمِينَ مِنْكُمْ وَلَقَدْ عَلِمْنَا الْمُسْتَأْخِرِينَ |
Wa 'Inna Rabbaka Huwa Yaĥshuruhum 'Innahu Ĥakīmun `Alīmun  | Surely your Rabb will gather them together; surely He is Wise, Knowledgeable.[15.25] | وَإِنَّ رَبَّكَ هُوَ يَحْشُرُهُمْ إِنَّه ُُ حَكِيمٌ عَلِيم ٌ |
Wa Laqad Khalaqnā Al-'Insāna Min Şalşālin Min Ĥama'iin Masnūnin  | We created man from sounding clay, black mud moulded into shape;[15.26] | وَلَقَدْ خَلَقْنَا الإِنسَانَ مِنْ صَلْصَال ٍ مِنْ حَمَإ ٍ مَسْنُون ٍ |
Wa Al-Jānna Khalaqnāhu Min Qablu Min Nāri As-Samūmi  | while before him We had created Jinn from smokeless fire.[15.27] | وَالْجَانَّ خَلَقْنَاه ُُ مِنْ قَبْلُ مِنْ نَارِ السَّمُومِ |
Wa 'Idh Qāla Rabbuka Lilmalā'ikati 'Innī Khāliqun Basharāan Min Şalşālin Min Ĥama'iin Masnūnin  | Remember when your Rabb said to the angels: “I am about to create a man from sounding clay, black mud moulded into shape;[15.28] | وَإِذْ قَالَ رَبُّكَ لِلْمَلاَئِكَةِ إِنِّي خَالِق ٌ بَشَرا ً مِنْ صَلْصَال ٍ مِنْ حَمَإ ٍ مَسْنُون ٍ |
Fa'idhā Sawwaytuhu Wa Nafakhtu Fīhi Min Rūĥī Faqa`ū Lahu Sājidīna  | when I complete his moulding and breath into him of My spirit, kneel down and prostrate before him.”[15.29] | فَإِذَا سَوَّيْتُه ُُ وَنَفَخْتُ فِيه ِِ مِنْ رُوحِي فَقَعُوا لَه ُُ سَاجِدِينَ |
Fasajada Al-Malā'ikatu Kulluhum 'Ajma`ūna  | Accordingly the angels prostrated altogether,[15.30] | فَسَجَدَ الْمَلاَئِكَةُ كُلُّهُمْ أَجْمَعُونَ |
'Illā 'Iblīsa 'Abá 'An Yakūna Ma`a As-Sājidīna  | except Iblees (The Satan); he refused to join those who prostrated.[15.31] | إِلاَّ إِبْلِيسَ أَبَى أَنْ يَكُونَ مَعَ السَّاجِدِينَ |
Qāla Yā 'Iblīsu Mā Laka 'Allā Takūna Ma`a As-Sājidīna  | Allah asked: “O Iblees! What is the matter with you that you did not join those who prostrated?”[15.32] | قَالَ يَا إِبْلِيسُ مَا لَكَ أَلاَّ تَكُونَ مَعَ السَّاجِدِينَ |
Qāla Lam 'Akun Li'sjuda Libasharin Khalaqtahu Min Şalşālin Min Ĥama'iin Masnūnin  | He replied: “It does not behoove me to prostrate myself to this man whom You have created from sounding clay, black mud moulded into shape."[15.33] | قَالَ لَمْ أَكُنْ لِأسْجُدَ لِبَشَرٍ خَلَقْتَه ُُ مِنْ صَلْصَال ٍ مِنْ حَمَإ ٍ مَسْنُون ٍ |
Qāla Fākhruj Minhā Fa'innaka Rajīmun  | Allah said: “Get out of here, you are accursed.[15.34] | قَالَ فَاخْرُجْ مِنْهَا فَإِنَّكَ رَجِيم ٌ |
Wa 'Inna `Alayka Al-La`nata 'Ilá Yawmi Ad-Dīni  | The curse will remain on you till the Day of Judgement."[15.35] | وَإِنَّ عَلَيْكَ اللَّعْنَةَ إِلَى يَوْمِ الدِّينِ |
Qāla Rabbi Fa'anžirnī 'Ilá Yawmi Yub`athūna  | At this Iblees requested: “Rabb! Give me respite till the Day of Resurrection."[15.36] | قَالَ رَبِّ فَأَنْظِرْنِي إِلَى يَوْمِ يُبْعَثُونَ |
Qāla Fa'innaka Mina Al-Munžarīna  | Allah said: “All right! You are given the respite[15.37] | قَالَ فَإِنَّكَ مِنَ الْمُنْظَرِينَ |
'Ilá Yawmi Al-Waqti Al-Ma`lūmi  | till the Day of appointed time."[15.38] | إِلَى يَوْمِ الْوَقْتِ الْمَعْلُومِ |
Qāla Rabbi Bimā 'Aghwaytanī La'uzayyinanna Lahum Fī Al-'Arđi Wa La'ughwiyannahum 'Ajma`īna  | Iblees said: "Rabb! Since You let me go astray, I will make evil fair-seeming to them on earth and I will seduce them all[15.39] | قَالَ رَبِّ بِمَا أَغْوَيْتَنِي لَأُزَيِّنَنَّ لَهُمْ فِي الأَرْضِ وَلَأُغْوِيَنَّهُمْ أَجْمَعِينَ |
'Illā `Ibādaka Minhumu Al-Mukhlaşīna  | except those of them who are Your sincere devotees."[15.40] | إِلاَّ عِبَادَكَ مِنْهُمُ الْمُخْلَصِينَ |
Qāla Hādhā Şirāţun `Alayya Mustaqīmun  | Allah said: “This course of action is all right with Me[15.41] | قَالَ هَذَا صِرَاطٌ عَلَيَّ مُسْتَقِيم ٌ |
'Inna `Ibādī Laysa Laka `Alayhim Sulţānun 'Illā Mani Attaba`aka Mina Al-Ghāwīna  | - you will not have any authority over My devotees except those misguided ones who follow you.[15.42] | إِنَّ عِبَادِي لَيْسَ لَكَ عَلَيْهِمْ سُلْطَان ٌ إِلاَّ مَنِ اتَّبَعَكَ مِنَ الْغَاوِينَ |
Wa 'Inna Jahannama Lamaw`iduhum 'Ajma`īna  | They will be all destined for Hell,[15.43] | وَإِنَّ جَهَنَّمَ لَمَوْعِدُهُمْ أَجْمَعِينَ |
Lahā Sab`atu 'Abwābin Likulli Bābin Minhum Juz'un Maqsūmun  | which has seven gates, each gate will be assigned to a separate group from among them."[15.44] | لَهَا سَبْعَةُ أَبْوَاب ٍ لِكُلِّ بَاب ٍ مِنْهُمْ جُزْء ٌ مَقْسُوم ٌ |
'Inna Al-Muttaqīna Fī Jannātin Wa `Uyūnin  | The righteous will be in the midst of the gardens and fountains of paradise[15.45] | إِنَّ الْمُتَّقِينَ فِي جَنَّات ٍ وَعُيُون ٍ |
Adkhulūhā Bisalāmin 'Āminīna  | and it will be said to them: “Enter into these in peace and security."[15.46] | ادْخُلُوهَا بِسَلاَم ٍ آمِنِينَ |
Wa Naza`nā Mā Fī Şudūrihim Min Ghillin 'Ikhwānāan `Alá Sururin Mutaqābilīna  | We shall remove all hatred from their hearts - they will become like brothers and sit on couches face to face.[15.47] | وَنَزَعْنَا مَا فِي صُدُورِهِمْ مِنْ غِلّ ٍ إِخْوَاناً عَلَى سُرُر ٍ مُتَقَابِلِينَ |
Lā Yamassuhum Fīhā Naşabun Wa Mā Hum Minhā Bimukhrajīna  | No fatigue will touch them in there, nor will they ever be asked to leave.[15.48] | لاَ يَمَسُّهُمْ فِيهَا نَصَب ٌ وَمَا هُمْ مِنْهَا بِمُخْرَجِينَ |
Nabbi' `Ibādī 'Annī 'Anā Al-Ghafūru Ar-Raĥīmu  | O Prophet! Tell My devotees that I am indeed the Forgiving, the Merciful;[15.49] | نَبِّئْ عِبَادِي أَنِّي أَنَا الْغَفُورُ الرَّحِيمُ |
Wa 'Anna `Adhābī Huwa Al-`Adhābu Al-'Alīmu  | but at the same time My punishment is also the most painful punishment.[15.50] | وَأَنَّ عَذَابِي هُوَ الْعَذَابُ الأَلِيمُ |
Wa Nabbi'hum `An Đayfi 'Ibrāhīma  | Tell them about the guests of Ibrمhïm (Abraham).[15.51] | وَنَبِّئْهُمْ عَنْ ضَيْفِ إِبْرَاهِيمَ |
'Idh Dakhalū `Alayhi Faqālū Salāmāan Qāla 'Innā Minkum Wajilūna  | They entered upon them and said: “Peace be upon you!” But he replied: “Surely we are afraid of you."[15.52] | إِذْ دَخَلُوا عَلَيْهِ فَقَالُوا سَلاَما ً قَالَ إِنَّا مِنْكُمْ وَجِلُونَ |
Qālū Lā Tawjal 'Innā Nubashshiruka Bighulāmin `Alīmin  | They answered: “Do not be afraid of us! We have come to you with good news of a son endowed with knowledge."[15.53] | قَالُوا لاَ تَوْجَلْ إِنَّا نُبَشِّرُكَ بِغُلاَمٍ عَلِيم ٍ |
Qāla 'Abashshartumūnī `Alá 'An Massaniya Al-Kibaru Fabima Tubashshirūna  | He said: "Are you giving me the good news of a son when I have become old? What kind of good news you are giving?”[15.54] | قَالَ أَبَشَّرْتُمُونِي عَلَى أَنْ مَسَّنِيَ الْكِبَرُ فَبِمَ تُبَشِّرُونَ |
Qālū Bashsharnāka Bil-Ĥaqqi Falā Takun Mina Al-Qāniţīna  | They replied: “We are giving you true good news; you should not be of those who despair."[15.55] | قَالُوا بَشَّرْنَاكَ بِالْحَقِّ فَلاَ تَكُنْ مِنَ الْقَانِطِينَ |
Qāla Wa Man Yaqnaţu Min Raĥmati Rabbihi 'Illā Ađ-Đāllūna  | He said: “Who would despair of the mercy of his Rabb except one who goes astray?”[15.56] | قَالَ وَمَنْ يَقْنَطُ مِنْ رَحْمَةِ رَبِّهِ~ِ إِلاَّ الضَّالُّونَ |
Qāla Famā Khaţbukum 'Ayyuhā Al-Mursalūna  | Then he asked: “On what expedition you have been sent, O emissaries of Allah?”[15.57] | قَالَ فَمَا خَطْبُكُمْ أَيُّهَا الْمُرْسَلُونَ |
Qālū 'Innā 'Ursilnā 'Ilá Qawmin Mujrimīna  | They replied: “We have been sent to punish a criminal nation,[15.58] | قَالُوا إِنَّا أُرْسِلْنَا إِلَى قَوْم ٍ مُجْرِمِينَ |
'Illā 'Āla Lūţin 'Innā Lamunajjūhum 'Ajma`īna  | with the exception of Lüt’s (Lot's) family; we will certainly rescue them all[15.59] | إِلاَّ آلَ لُوط ٍ إِنَّا لَمُنَجُّوهُمْ أَجْمَعِينَ |
'Illā Amra'atahu Qaddarnā 'Innahā Lamina Al-Ghābirīna  | except his wife, who, Allah says, has been destined to remain with those who will stay behind."[15.60] | إِلاَّ امْرَأَتَه ُُ قَدَّرْنَا إِنَّهَا لَمِنَ الْغَابِرِينَ |
Falammā Jā'a 'Āla Lūţin Al-Mursalūna  | So when the emissaries came to the family of Lüt,[15.61] | فَلَمَّا جَاءَ آلَ لُوط ٍ الْمُرْسَلُونَ |
Qāla 'Innakum Qawmun Munkarūna  | he said: “ You appear to be strangers."[15.62] | قَالَ إِنَّكُمْ قَوْم ٌ مُنْكَرُونَ |
Qālū Bal Ji'nāka Bimā Kānū Fīhi Yamtarūna  | They said: “We have come to you with that concerning which these people had doubts.[15.63] | قَالُوا بَلْ جِئْنَاكَ بِمَا كَانُوا فِيه ِِ يَمْتَرُونَ |
Wa 'Ataynāka Bil-Ĥaqqi Wa 'Innā Laşādiqūna  | We have come to you with the Truth of Allah’s decree and we are telling you the truth.[15.64] | وَأَتَيْنَاكَ بِالْحَقِّ وَإِنَّا لَصَادِقُونَ |
Fa'asri Bi'ahlika Biqiţ`in Mina Al-Layli Wa Attabi` 'Adbārahum Wa Lā Yaltafit Minkum 'Aĥadun Wa Amđū Ĥaythu Tu'umarūna  | You should, therefore, depart with your family during the last hours of the night and you yourself should follow them at their rear; let no one of you look back, keep on going where you are commanded to go."[15.65] | فَأَسْرِ بِأَهْلِكَ بِقِطْع ٍ مِنَ اللَّيْلِ وَاتَّبِعْ أَدْبَارَهُمْ وَلاَ يَلْتَفِتْ مِنْكُمْ أَحَد ٌ وَامْضُوا حَيْثُ تُؤْمَرُونَ |
Wa Qađaynā 'Ilayhi Dhālika Al-'Amra 'Anna Dābira Hā'uulā' Maqţū`un Muşbiĥīna  | We informed him about this decree of Ours that the roots of the sinners of his city would be cut off by the morning.[15.66] | وَقَضَيْنَا إِلَيْهِ ذَلِكَ الأَمْرَ أَنَّ دَابِرَ هَاؤُلاَء مَقْطُوع ٌ مُصْبِحِينَ |
Wa Jā'a 'Ahlu Al-Madīnati Yastabshirūna  | The people of the town came rejoicing to the house of Lüt when they heard the news of those two young male visitors.[15.67] | وَجَاءَ أَهْلُ الْمَدِينَةِ يَسْتَبْشِرُونَ |
Qāla 'Inna Hā'uulā' Đayfī Falā Tafđaĥūni  | Lüt said: “They are my guests, so do not disgrace me.[15.68] | قَالَ إِنَّ هَاؤُلاَء ضَيْفِي فَلاَ تَفْضَحُونِ |
Wa Attaqū Al-Laha Wa Lā Tukhzūni  | Have fear of Allah and do not put me to shame."[15.69] | وَاتَّقُوا اللَّهَ وَلاَ تُخْزُونِ |
Qālū 'Awalam Nanhaka `Ani Al-`Ālamīna  | They said: "Have we not forbidden you to plead for the rest of the world?"[15.70] | قَالُوا أَوَلَمْ نَنْهَكَ عَنِ الْعَالَمِينَ |
Qāla Hā'uulā' Banātī 'In Kuntum Fā`ilīna  | He said: “Here are my daughters, if you must act."[15.71] | قَالَ هَاؤُلاَء بَنَاتِي إِنْ كُنْتُمْ فَاعِلِينَ |
La`amruka 'Innahum Lafī Sakratihim Ya`mahūna  | By your life, O Prophet Muhammad, they were madly blundering in their intoxication of lust![15.72] | لَعَمْرُكَ إِنَّهُمْ لَفِي سَكْرَتِهِمْ يَعْمَهُونَ |
Fa'akhadhat/humu Aş-Şayĥatu Mushriqīna  | So the mighty blast overtook them at sunrise.[15.73] | فَأَخَذَتْهُمُ الصَّيْحَةُ مُشْرِقِينَ |
Faja`alnā `Āliyahā Sāfilahā Wa 'Amţarnā `Alayhim Ĥijāratan Min Sijjīlin  | Thus We turned the town upside down and rained down on them brimstones of baked clay.[15.74] | فَجَعَلْنَا عَالِيَهَا سَافِلَهَا وَأَمْطَرْنَا عَلَيْهِمْ حِجَارَة ً مِنْ سِجِّيل ٍ |
'Inna Fī Dhālika La'āyātin Lilmutawassimīna  | Surely there are major lessons in this for those who investigate,[15.75] | إِنَّ فِي ذَلِكَ لَآيَات ٍ لِلْمُتَوَسِّمِينَ |
Wa 'Innahā Labisabīlin Muqīmin  | and this smitten town still lies right on the permanent highway on which the unbelievers travel during their business trips.[15.76] | وَإِنَّهَا لَبِسَبِيل ٍ مُقِيم ٍ |
'Inna Fī Dhālika La'āyatan Lilmu'uminīna  | Indeed there is a sign in this for the true believers.[15.77] | إِنَّ فِي ذَلِكَ لَآيَة ً لِلْمُؤْمِنِينَ |
Wa 'In Kāna 'Aşĥābu Al-'Aykati Lažālimīna  | The people of Al-Aikah (the nation of Prophet Shu’aib) were also wrongdoers.[15.78] | وَإِنْ كَانَ أَصْحَابُ الأَيْكَةِ لَظَالِمِينَ |
Fāntaqamnā Minhum Wa 'Innahumā Labi'imāmin Mubīnin  | So We inflicted retribution on them. The ruined towns of these two nations are lying on an open road.[15.79] | فَانْتَقَمْنَا مِنْهُمْ وَإِنَّهُمَا لَبِإِمَام ٍ مُبِين ٍ |
Wa Laqad Kadhdhaba 'Aşĥābu Al-Ĥijri Al-Mursalīna  | The people of Hijr also denied their Rasool.[15.80] | وَلَقَدْ كَذَّبَ أَصْحَابُ الْحِجْرِ الْمُرْسَلِينَ |
Wa 'Ātaynāhum 'Āyātinā Fakānū `Anhā Mu`riđīna  | We gave them Our signs, but they ignored them.[15.81] | وَآتَيْنَاهُمْ آيَاتِنَا فَكَانُوا عَنْهَا مُعْرِضِينَ |
Wa Kānū Yanĥitūna Mina Al-Jibāli Buyūtāan 'Āminīna  | They hewed their homes in the mountains for safety.[15.82] | وَكَانُوا يَنْحِتُونَ مِنَ الْجِبَالِ بُيُوتا ً آمِنِينَ |
Fa'akhadhat/humu Aş-Şayĥatu Muşbiĥīna  | But the mighty blast seized them one morning, and all their labor of building their homes through carving the rocks did not avail them.[15.83] | فَأَخَذَتْهُمُ الصَّيْحَةُ مُصْبِحِينَ |
Famā 'Aghná `Anhum Mā Kānū Yaksibūna  | We have not created the Heavens and the Earth, and all that lies between them but to manifest the Truth.[15.84] | فَمَا أَغْنَى عَنْهُمْ مَا كَانُوا يَكْسِبُونَ |
Wa Mā Khalaqnā As-Samāwāti Wa Al-'Arđa Wa Mā Baynahumā 'Illā Bil-Ĥaqqi Wa 'Inna As-Sā`ata La'ātiyatun Fāşfaĥi Aş-Şafĥa Al-Jamīla  | The Hour of Doom is sure to come, so overlook their misbehavior in a gracious manner.[15.85] | وَمَا خَلَقْنَا السَّمَاوَاتِ وَالأَرْضَ وَمَا بَيْنَهُمَا إِلاَّ بِالْحَقِّ وَإِنَّ السَّاعَةَ لَآتِيَة ٌ فَاصْفَحِ الصَّفْحَ الْجَمِيلَ |
'Inna Rabbaka Huwa Al-Khallāqu Al-`Alīmu  | Surely your Rabb is the All-Knowing Creator.[15.86] | إِنَّ رَبَّكَ هُوَ الْخَلاَّقُ الْعَلِيمُ |
Wa Laqad 'Ātaynāka Sab`āan Mina Al-Mathānī Wa Al-Qur'āna Al-`Ažīma  | We have given you the Seven Verses that are worthy of recitation over and over again (Sürah Al-Fمtiha) and the Glorious Qur'an.[15.87] | وَلَقَدْ آتَيْنَاكَ سَبْعا ً مِنَ الْمَثَانِي وَالْقُرْآنَ الْعَظِيمَ |
Lā Tamuddanna `Aynayka 'Ilá Mā Matta`nā Bihi 'Azwājāan Minhum Wa Lā Taĥzan `Alayhim Wa Akhfiđ Janāĥaka Lilmu'uminīna  | Do not look at the worldly wealth which We have given to different people among them, nor grieve at their condition. Leave them alone, attend to the believers in kindness,[15.88] | لاَ تَمُدَّنَّ عَيْنَيْكَ إِلَى مَا مَتَّعْنَا بِهِ~ِ أَزْوَاجا ً مِنْهُمْ وَلاَ تَحْزَنْ عَلَيْهِمْ وَاخْفِضْ جَنَاحَكَ لِلْمُؤْمِنِينَ |
Wa Qul 'Innī 'Anā An-Nadhīru Al-Mubīnu  | and tell the unbelievers: “Surely I am only a plain warner."[15.89] | وَقُلْ إِنِّي أَنَا النَّذِيرُ الْمُبِينُ |
Kamā 'Anzalnā `Alá Al-Muqtasimīna  | This warning is like the warning which We sent down to the schismatics,[15.90] | كَمَا أَنْزَلْنَا عَلَى الْمُقْتَسِمِينَ |
Al-Ladhīna Ja`alū Al-Qur'āna `Iđīna  | the one who divided their Qur’an into separate parts, believing in some and denying others.[15.91] | الَّذِينَ جَعَلُوا الْقُرْآنَ عِضِينَ |
Fawarabbika Lanas'alannahum 'Ajma`īna  | So by your Rabb! We will question them all[15.92] | فَوَرَبِّكَ لَنَسْأَلَنَّهُمْ أَجْمَعِينَ |
`Ammā Kānū Ya`malūna  | about their doings.[15.93] | عَمَّا كَانُوا يَعْمَلُونَ |
Fāşda` Bimā Tu'umaru Wa 'A`riđ `Ani Al-Mushrikīna  | Therefore, proclaim publicly what you are commanded and turn away from the mushrikïn.[15.94] | فَاصْدَعْ بِمَا تُؤْمَرُ وَأَعْرِضْ عَنِ الْمُشْرِكِينَ |
'Innā Kafaynāka Al-Mustahzi'īna  | Surely We Ourself will suffice you against the scoffers;[15.95] | إِنَّا كَفَيْنَاكَ الْمُسْتَهْزِئِينَ |
Al-Ladhīna Yaj`alūna Ma`a Al-Lahi 'Ilahāan 'Ākhara Fasawfa Ya`lamūna  | those who place other deities alongside Allah, will soon come to know their folly.[15.96] | الَّذِينَ يَجْعَلُونَ مَعَ اللَّهِ إِلَها ً آخَرَ فَسَوْفَ يَعْلَمُونَ |
Wa Laqad Na`lamu 'Annaka Yađīqu Şadruka Bimā Yaqūlūna  | We know that your heart is distressed by what they say against you.[15.97] | وَلَقَدْ نَعْلَمُ أَنَّكَ يَضِيقُ صَدْرُكَ بِمَا يَقُولُونَ |
Fasabbiĥ Biĥamdi Rabbika Wa Kun Mina As-Sājidīna  | The cure of your heart’s distress is that you should celebrate the praises of your Rabb and be of those who prostrate themselves before Him,[15.98] | فَسَبِّحْ بِحَمْدِ رَبِّكَ وَكُنْ مِنَ السَّاجِدِينَ |
Wa A`bud Rabbaka Ĥattá Ya'tiyaka Al-Yaqīnu  | and worship your Rabb until there comes to you which is certain (death).[15.99] | وَاعْبُدْ رَبَّكَ حَتَّى يَأْتِيَكَ الْيَقِينُ |
