'Alif-Lām -Rā Tilka 'Ā yā tu A l-Kitā bi Wa Qur'ā nin Mubī nin Alif L'مm Rم. These are the verses of the Divine Book, the Glorious Qur’an which makes the things clear.[15.1] أَلِف-لَام-رَا تِلْكَ آيَا تُ ا لْكِتَا بِ وَقُرْآنٍ مُبِي نٍ
Rubamā Yawaddu A l-Ladh ī na Kafarū Law Kānū Muslimī na The Day will come when the unbelievers will wish that they were Muslims.[15.2] رُبَمَا يَوَدُّ ا لَّذِي نَ كَفَرُوا لَوْ كَا نُوا مُسْلِمِي نَ
Dh arhum Ya'kulū Wa Yatamatta`ū Wa Yulhihimu A l-'Amalu Fasawfa Ya`lamū na Leave them alone to eat and enjoy themselves and be deluded by false hopes, for soon they will find out the Truth.[15.3] ذَرْهُمْ يَأْكُلُوا وَيَتَمَتَّعُوا وَيُلْهِهِمُ ا لأَمَلُ فَسَوْفَ يَعْلَمُو نَ
Wa Mā 'Ahlaknā Min Qaryatin 'Illā Wa Lahā Kitā bun Ma`lū mun Never did We destroy a town whose term of life was not ordained beforehand.[15.4] وَمَا أَهْلَكْنَا مِن ْ قَرْيَةٍ إِلاَّ وَلَهَا كِتَا بٌ مَعْلُو مٌ
Mā Tasbiqu Min 'Umm atin 'Ajalahā Wa Mā Yasta'kh irū na No people can forestall their doom, nor can they postpone it.[15.5] مَا تَسْبِقُ مِنْ أُمَّ ةٍ أَجَلَهَا وَمَا يَسْتَأْخِرُو نَ
Wa Qālū Yā 'Ayyuhā A l-Ladh ī Nuzzila `Alayhi A dh -Dh ikru 'Inn aka Lamaj nū nun They say: “O you to whom the reminder (The Qur'an) is being revealed! You are surely insane.[15.6] وَقَالُوا يَا أَيُّهَا ا لَّذِي نُزِّلَ عَلَيْهِ ا ل ذِّكْرُ إِنَّ كَ لَمَجْ نُو نٌ
Law Mā Ta'tīnā Bil-Malā 'ikati 'In Kun ta Mina A ş-Şādiqī na Why don’t you bring us the angels, if you are of the truthful ones?”[15.7] لَوْ مَا تَأْتِينَا بِا لْمَلاَئِكَةِ إِن ْ كُنْ تَ مِنَ ا ل صَّادِقِي نَ
Mā Nunazzilu A l-Malā 'ikata 'Illā Bil-Ĥaqqi Wa Mā Kānū 'Idh āan Mun žar ī na O Muhammad, tell them: "We do not send down the angels except for just cause (to execute Our scourge), and when they come, people are not given respite.[15.8] مَا نُنَزِّلُ ا لْمَلاَئِكَةَ إِلاَّ بِا لْحَقِّ وَمَا كَا نُو ا إِذاً مُنْ ظَر ِي نَ
'Inn ā Naĥnu Nazzalnā A dh -Dh ikra Wa 'Inn ā Lahu Laĥāfižū na Surely We have revealed this reminder (The Qur'an); and We will surely preserve it Ourself.[15.9] إِنَّ ا نَحْنُ نَزَّلْنَا ا ل ذِّكْرَ وَإِنَّ ا لَهُُلَحَافِظُو نَ
Wa Laqad 'Arsalnā Min Qab lika Fī Sh iya`i A l-'Awwalī na Certainly We sent Rasools before you among the early nations;[15.10] وَلَقَد ْ أَرْسَلْنَا مِن ْ قَبْ لِكَ فِي شِيَعِ ا لأَوَّلِي نَ
Wa Mā Ya'tīhim Min Rasū lin 'Illā Kānū Bihi Yastahzi'ū na but whenever a Rasool came to them, they mocked him.[15.11] وَمَا يَأْتِيهِم ْ مِن ْ رَسُو لٍ إِلاَّ كَا نُوا بِهِِ يَسْتَهْزِئُو نَ
Kadh ālika Naslukuhu Fī Qulū bi A l-Muj r imī na Thus do We let doubt creep into the hearts of the criminals;[15.12] كَذَلِكَ نَسْلُكُهُُفِي قُلُو بِ ا لْمُجْ ر ِمِي نَ
Lā Yu'uminū na Bihi Wa Qad Kh alat Sunn atu A l-'Awwalī na that they do not believe in it (The Qur'an), despite the examples of the people who passed before them.[15.13] لاَ يُؤْمِنُو نَ بِهِِ وَقَد ْ خَلَتْ سُنَّ ةُ ا لأَوَّلِي نَ
Wa Law Fataĥnā `Alayhim Bābāan Mina A s-Samā 'i Fažallū Fī hi Ya`rujū na Even if we had opened a gate in Heaven and they ascend through it and keep on ascending,[15.14] وَلَوْ فَتَحْنَا عَلَيْهِم ْ بَاباً مِنَ ا ل سَّمَا ءِ فَظَلُّوا فِي هِِ يَعْرُجُو نَ
Laqālū 'Inn amā Sukkirat 'Ab şārunā Bal Naĥnu Qawmun Masĥūrū na still they would have said, 'Our eyes have been dazzled; rather we have been bewitched.'"[15.15] لَقَالُو ا إِنَّ مَا سُكِّرَتْ أَبْ صَارُنَا بَلْ نَحْنُ قَوْمٌ مَسْحُورُو نَ
Wa Laqad Ja`alnā Fī A s-Samā 'i Burūjāan Wa Zayyann āhā Lilnn āžir ī na It is We who have decked the heavens with constellations and made them fair-seeming for the beholders;[15.16] وَلَقَد ْ جَعَلْنَا فِي ا ل سَّمَا ءِ بُرُوجاً وَزَيَّنَّ اهَا لِلنَّ اظِر ِي نَ
Wa Ĥafižnāhā Min Kulli Sh ayţā nin Rajī min and We have guarded them from every accursed shaitمn.[15.17] وَحَفِظْنَاهَا مِن ْ كُلِّ شَيْطَا نٍ رَجِي مٍ
'Illā Mani A staraqa A s-Sam `a Fa'atba`ahu Sh ihā bun Mubī nun Any shaitمn that steals a hearing, there follows him a fiery comet.[15.18] إِلاَّ مَنِ ا سْتَرَقَ ا ل سَّمْعَ فَأَتْبَعَهُُشِهَا بٌ مُبِي نٌ
Wa A l-'Arđa Madad nāhā Wa 'Alqaynā Fīhā Rawāsiya Wa 'An batnā Fīhā Min Kulli Sh ay'in Mawzū nin We have spread out the earth and set mountains upon it; and caused to grow every suitable thing therein,[15.19] وَالأَرْضَ مَدَد ْنَاهَا وَأَلْقَيْنَا فِيهَا رَوَاسِيَ وَأَنْ بَتْنَا فِيهَا مِن ْ كُلِّ شَيْءٍ مَوْزُو نٍ
Wa Ja`alnā Lakum Fīhā Ma`āyish a Wa Man Lastum Lahu Birāziqī na and We provided therein means of sustenance for you and many other creatures to whom you do not provide.[15.20] وَجَعَلْنَا لَكُمْ فِيهَا مَعَايِشَ وَمَن ْ لَسْتُمْ لَهُُبِرَازِقِي نَ
Wa 'In Min Sh ay'in 'Illā `In danā Kh azā 'inuhu Wa Mā Nunazziluhu 'Illā Biqadar in Ma`lū min There is nothing which is not in Our inexhaustible treasure and sent down in appropriate measure.[15.21] وَإِن ْ مِن ْ شَيْءٍ إِلاَّ عِنْ دَنَا خَزَائِنُهُُوَمَا نُنَزِّلُهُ~ ُ إِلاَّ بِقَدَرٍ مَعْلُو مٍ
Wa 'Arsalnā A r-R iyā ĥa Lawāqiĥa Fa'an zalnā Mina A s-Samā 'i Mā 'an Fa'asqaynākumū hu Wa Mā 'An tum Lahu Bikh āzinī na We send the fertilizing winds and send down water from the sky for you to drink; it is not you who hold the storage of this wealth.[15.22] وَأَرْسَلْنَا ا ل رِّيَا حَ لَوَاقِحَ فَأَنْ زَلْنَا مِنَ ا ل سَّمَا ءِ مَا ءً فَأَسْقَيْنَاكُمُو هُُوَمَا أَنْ تُمْ لَهُُبِخَازِنِي نَ
Wa 'Inn ā Lanaĥnu Nuĥyī Wa Numī tu Wa Naĥnu A l-Wār ith ū na Certainly it is We Who give life and cause to die, and We are the inheritors of all.[15.23] وَإِنَّ ا لَنَحْنُ نُحْيِي وَنُمِي تُ وَنَحْنُ ا لْوَار ِثُو نَ
Wa Laqad `Alim nā A l-Mustaq dimī na Min kum Wa Laqad `Alim nā A l-Musta'kh ir ī na Certainly We have full knowledge of those who have gone before you and certainly We know those who will come later.[15.24] وَلَقَد ْ عَلِمْنَا ا لْمُسْتَقْ دِمِي نَ مِنْ كُمْ وَلَقَد ْ عَلِمْنَا ا لْمُسْتَأْخِر ِي نَ
Wa 'Inn a Rabbaka Huwa Yaĥsh uruhum 'Inn ahu Ĥakī mun `Alī mun Surely your Rabb will gather them together; surely He is Wise, Knowledgeable.[15.25] وَإِنّ َ رَبَّكَ هُوَ يَحْشُرُهُمْ إِنَّ هُُحَكِي مٌ عَلِي مٌ
Wa Laqad Kh alaq nā A l-'In sā na Min Şalşā lin Min Ĥama'iin Masnū nin We created man from sounding clay, black mud moulded into shape;[15.26] وَلَقَد ْ خَلَقْ نَا ا لإِن سَا نَ مِن ْ صَلْصَا لٍ مِنْ حَمَإٍ مَسْنُو نٍ
Wa A l-Jā nn a Kh alaq nā hu Min Qab lu Min Nā r i A s-Samū mi while before him We had created Jinn from smokeless fire.[15.27] وَالْجَا نّ َ خَلَقْ نَا هُُمِن ْ قَبْ لُ مِن ْ نَا ر ِ ا ل سَّمُو مِ
Wa 'Idh Qā la Rabbuka Lilmalā 'ikati 'Inn ī Kh āliqun Bash arāan Min Şalşā lin Min Ĥama'iin Masnū nin Remember when your Rabb said to the angels: “I am about to create a man from sounding clay, black mud moulded into shape;[15.28] وَإِذْ قَا لَ رَبُّكَ لِلْمَلاَئِكَةِ إِنِّ ي خَالِقٌ بَشَراً مِن ْ صَلْصَا لٍ مِنْ حَمَإٍ مَسْنُو نٍ
Fa'idh ā Sawwaytuhu Wa Nafakh tu Fī hi Min Rūĥī Faqa`ū Lahu Sājidī na when I complete his moulding and breath into him of My spirit, kneel down and prostrate before him.”[15.29] فَإِذَا سَوَّيْتُهُُوَنَفَخْتُ فِي هِِ مِن ْ رُوحِي فَقَعُوا لَهُُسَاجِدِي نَ
Fasajada A l-Malā 'ikatu Kulluhum 'Aj ma`ū na Accordingly the angels prostrated altogether,[15.30] فَسَجَدَ ا لْمَلاَئِكَةُ كُلُّهُمْ أَجْ مَعُو نَ
'Illā 'Ib lī sa 'Abá 'An Yakū na Ma`a A s-Sājidī na except Iblees (The Satan); he refused to join those who prostrated.[15.31] إِلاَّ إِبْ لِي سَ أَبَى أَن ْ يَكُو نَ مَعَ ا ل سَّاجِدِي نَ
Qā la Yā 'Ib lī su Mā Laka 'Allā Takū na Ma`a A s-Sājidī na Allah asked: “O Iblees! What is the matter with you that you did not join those who prostrated?”[15.32] قَا لَ يَا إِبْ لِي سُ مَا لَكَ أَلاَّ تَكُو نَ مَعَ ا ل سَّاجِدِي نَ
Qā la Lam 'Akun Li'sjuda Libash ar in Kh alaq tahu Min Şalşā lin Min Ĥama'iin Masnū nin He replied: “It does not behoove me to prostrate myself to this man whom You have created from sounding clay, black mud moulded into shape."[15.33] قَا لَ لَمْ أَكُن ْ لِأسْجُدَ لِبَشَرٍ خَلَقْ تَهُُمِن ْ صَلْصَا لٍ مِنْ حَمَإٍ مَسْنُو نٍ
Qā la Fākh ruj Minhā Fa'inn aka Rajī mun Allah said: “Get out of here, you are accursed.[15.34] قَا لَ فَا خْرُج ْ مِنْهَا فَإِنَّ كَ رَجِي مٌ
Wa 'Inn a `Alayka A l-La`nata 'Ilá Yawmi A d-Dī ni The curse will remain on you till the Day of Judgement."[15.35] وَإِنّ َ عَلَيْكَ ا ل لَّعْنَةَ إِلَى يَوْمِ ا ل دِّي نِ
Qā la Rabbi Fa'an žir nī 'Ilá Yawmi Yub `ath ū na At this Iblees requested: “Rabb! Give me respite till the Day of Resurrection."[15.36] قَا لَ رَبِّ فَأَنْ ظِرْنِي إِلَى يَوْمِ يُبْ عَثُو نَ
Qā la Fa'inn aka Mina A l-Mun žar ī na Allah said: “All right! You are given the respite[15.37] قَا لَ فَإِنَّ كَ مِنَ ا لْمُنْ ظَر ِي نَ
'Ilá Yawmi A l-Waq ti A l-Ma`lū mi till the Day of appointed time."[15.38] إِلَى يَوْمِ ا لْوَقْ تِ ا لْمَعْلُو مِ
Qā la Rabbi Bimā 'Agh waytanī La'uzayyinann a Lahum Fī A l-'Arđi Wa La'ugh wiyann ahum 'Aj ma`ī na Iblees said: "Rabb! Since You let me go astray, I will make evil fair-seeming to them on earth and I will seduce them all[15.39] قَا لَ رَبِّ بِمَا أَغْوَيْتَنِي لَأُزَيِّنَنّ َ لَهُمْ فِي ا لأَرْضِ وَلَأُغْوِيَنَّ هُمْ أَجْ مَعِي نَ
'Illā `Ibādaka Minhumu A l-Mukh laşī na except those of them who are Your sincere devotees."[15.40] إِلاَّ عِبَادَكَ مِنْهُمُ ا لْمُخْلَصِي نَ
Qā la Hādh ā Şirāţun `Alayya Mustaqī mun Allah said: “This course of action is all right with Me[15.41] قَا لَ هَذَا صِرَا طٌ عَلَيَّ مُسْتَقِي مٌ
'Inn a `Ibādī Laysa Laka `Alayhim Sulţā nun 'Illā Mani A ttaba`aka Mina A l-Gh āwī na - you will not have any authority over My devotees except those misguided ones who follow you.[15.42] إِنّ َ عِبَادِي لَيْسَ لَكَ عَلَيْهِمْ سُلْطَا نٌ إِلاَّ مَنِ ا تَّبَعَكَ مِنَ ا لْغَاوِي نَ
Wa 'Inn a Jahann ama Lamaw`iduhum 'Aj ma`ī na They will be all destined for Hell,[15.43] وَإِنّ َ جَهَنَّ مَ لَمَوْعِدُهُمْ أَجْ مَعِي نَ
Lahā Sab `atu 'Ab wā bin Likulli Bā bin Minhum Juz'un Maq sū mun which has seven gates, each gate will be assigned to a separate group from among them."[15.44] لَهَا سَبْ عَةُ أَبْ وَا بٍ لِكُلِّ بَا بٍ مِنْهُمْ جُزْءٌ مَقْ سُو مٌ
'Inn a A l-Muttaqī na Fī Jann ā tin Wa `Uyū nin The righteous will be in the midst of the gardens and fountains of paradise[15.45] إِنّ َ ا لْمُتَّقِي نَ فِي جَنّ َا تٍ وَعُيُو نٍ
A d kh ulūhā Bisalā min 'Ā minī na and it will be said to them: “Enter into these in peace and security."[15.46] ا د ْخُلُوهَا بِسَلاَمٍ آمِنِي نَ
Wa Naza`nā Mā Fī Şudūr ihim Min Gh illin 'Ikh wānāan `Alá Surur in Mutaqābilī na We shall remove all hatred from their hearts - they will become like brothers and sit on couches face to face.[15.47] وَنَزَعْنَا مَا فِي صُدُور ِهِم ْ مِنْ غِلٍّ إِخْوَان اً عَلَى سُرُرٍ مُتَقَابِلِي نَ
Lā Yamassuhum Fīhā Naşabun Wa Mā Hum Minhā Bimukh rajī na No fatigue will touch them in there, nor will they ever be asked to leave.[15.48] لاَ يَمَسُّهُمْ فِيهَا نَصَبٌ وَمَا هُم ْ مِنْهَا بِمُخْرَجِي نَ
Nabbi' `Ibādī 'Ann ī 'Anā A l-Gh afū ru A r-Raĥī mu O Prophet! Tell My devotees that I am indeed the Forgiving, the Merciful;[15.49] نَبِّئْ عِبَادِي أَنِّ ي أَنَا ا لْغَفُو رُ ا ل رَّحِي مُ
Wa 'Ann a `Adh ābī Huwa A l-`Adh ā bu A l-'Alī mu but at the same time My punishment is also the most painful punishment.[15.50] وَأَنّ َ عَذَابِي هُوَ ا لْعَذَا بُ ا لأَلِي مُ
Wa Nabbi'hum `An Đayfi 'Ib rāhī ma Tell them about the guests of Ibrمhïm (Abraham).[15.51] وَنَبِّئْهُمْ عَن ْ ضَيْفِ إِبْ رَاهِي مَ
'Idh Dakh alū `Alayhi Faqālū Salāmāan Qā la 'Inn ā Min kum Wajilū na They entered upon them and said: “Peace be upon you!” But he replied: “Surely we are afraid of you."[15.52] إِذْ دَخَلُوا عَلَيْهِ فَقَالُوا سَلاَماً قَا لَ إِنَّ ا مِنْ كُمْ وَجِلُو نَ
Qālū Lā Tawjal 'Inn ā Nubash sh iruka Bigh ulā min `Alī min They answered: “Do not be afraid of us! We have come to you with good news of a son endowed with knowledge."[15.53] قَالُوا لاَ تَوْجَلْ إِنَّ ا نُبَشِّرُكَ بِغُلاَمٍ عَلِي مٍ
Qā la 'Abash sh artumūnī `Alá 'An Massaniya A l-Kibaru Fabima Tubash sh irū na He said: "Are you giving me the good news of a son when I have become old? What kind of good news you are giving?”[15.54] قَا لَ أَبَشَّرْتُمُونِي عَلَى أَن ْ مَسَّنِيَ ا لْكِبَرُ فَبِمَ تُبَشِّرُو نَ
Qālū Bash sh arnā ka Bil-Ĥaqqi Falā Takun Mina A l-Qāniţī na They replied: “We are giving you true good news; you should not be of those who despair."[15.55] قَالُوا بَشَّرْنَا كَ بِا لْحَقِّ فَلاَ تَكُن ْ مِنَ ا لْقَانِطِي نَ
Qā la Wa Man Yaq naţu Min Raĥmati Rabbihi 'Illā A đ-Đā llū na He said: “Who would despair of the mercy of his Rabb except one who goes astray?”[15.56] قَا لَ وَمَن ْ يَقْ نَطُ مِن ْ رَحْمَةِ رَبِّهِ إِلاَّ ا ل ضَّا لُّو نَ
Qā la Famā Kh aţ bukum 'Ayyuhā A l-Mursalū na Then he asked: “On what expedition you have been sent, O emissaries of Allah?”[15.57] قَا لَ فَمَا خَطْ بُكُمْ أَيُّهَا ا لْمُرْسَلُو نَ
Qālū 'Inn ā 'Ursilnā 'Ilá Qawmin Muj r imī na They replied: “We have been sent to punish a criminal nation,[15.58] قَالُو ا إِنَّ ا أُرْسِلْنَا إِلَى قَوْمٍ مُجْ ر ِمِي نَ
'Illā 'Ā la Lūţin 'Inn ā Lamunajjūhum 'Aj ma`ī na with the exception of Lüt’s (Lot's) family; we will certainly rescue them all[15.59] إِلاَّ آلَ لُو طٍ إِنَّ ا لَمُنَجُّوهُمْ أَجْ مَعِي نَ
'Illā A m ra'atahu Qaddarnā 'Inn ahā Lamina A l-Gh ābir ī na except his wife, who, Allah says, has been destined to remain with those who will stay behind."[15.60] إِلاَّ ا مْرَأَتَهُُقَدَّرْنَا إِنَّ هَا لَمِنَ ا لْغَابِر ِي نَ
Falamm ā Jā 'a 'Ā la Lūţin A l-Mursalū na So when the emissaries came to the family of Lüt,[15.61] فَلَمَّ ا جَا ءَ آلَ لُو طٍ ا لْمُرْسَلُو نَ
Qā la 'Inn akum Qawmun Mun karū na he said: “ You appear to be strangers."[15.62] قَا لَ إِنَّ كُمْ قَوْمٌ مُنْ كَرُو نَ
Qālū Bal Ji'nā ka Bimā Kānū Fī hi Yam tarū na They said: “We have come to you with that concerning which these people had doubts.[15.63] قَالُوا بَلْ جِئْنَا كَ بِمَا كَا نُوا فِي هِِ يَمْتَرُو نَ
Wa 'Ataynā ka Bil-Ĥaqqi Wa 'Inn ā Laşādiqū na We have come to you with the Truth of Allah’s decree and we are telling you the truth.[15.64] وَأَتَيْنَا كَ بِا لْحَقِّ وَإِنَّ ا لَصَادِقُو نَ
Fa'asr i Bi'ahlika Biqiţ `in Mina A l-Layli Wa A ttabi` 'Ad bārahum Wa Lā Yaltafit Min kum 'Aĥadun Wa A m đū Ĥayth u Tu'umarū na You should, therefore, depart with your family during the last hours of the night and you yourself should follow them at their rear; let no one of you look back, keep on going where you are commanded to go."[15.65] فَأَسْر ِ بِأَهْلِكَ بِقِطْ عٍ مِنَ ا ل لَّيْلِ وَاتَّبِعْ أَد ْبَارَهُمْ وَلاَ يَلْتَفِتْ مِنْ كُمْ أَحَدٌ وَامْضُوا حَيْثُ تُؤْمَرُو نَ
Wa Qađaynā 'Ilayhi Dh ālika A l-'Am ra 'Ann a Dābir a Hā 'uulā ' Maq ţū `un Muşbiĥī na We informed him about this decree of Ours that the roots of the sinners of his city would be cut off by the morning.[15.66] وَقَضَيْنَا إِلَيْهِ ذَلِكَ ا لأَمْرَ أَنّ َ دَابِر َ هَاؤُلاَء مَقْ طُو عٌ مُصْبِحِي نَ
Wa Jā 'a 'Ahlu A l-Madīnati Yastab sh irū na The people of the town came rejoicing to the house of Lüt when they heard the news of those two young male visitors.[15.67] وَجَا ءَ أَهْلُ ا لْمَدِينَةِ يَسْتَبْ شِرُو نَ
Qā la 'Inn a Hā 'uulā ' Đayfī Falā Tafđaĥū ni Lüt said: “They are my guests, so do not disgrace me.[15.68] قَا لَ إِنّ َ هَاؤُلاَء ضَيْفِي فَلاَ تَفْضَحُو نِ
Wa A ttaqū A l-Laha Wa Lā Tukh zū ni Have fear of Allah and do not put me to shame."[15.69] وَا تَّقُوا ا ل لَّهَ وَلاَ تُخْزُو نِ
Qālū 'Awalam Nanhaka `Ani A l-`Ālamī na They said: "Have we not forbidden you to plead for the rest of the world?"[15.70] قَالُو ا أَوَلَمْ نَنْهَكَ عَنِ ا لْعَالَمِي نَ
Qā la Hā 'uulā ' Banātī 'In Kun tum Fā`ilī na He said: “Here are my daughters, if you must act."[15.71] قَا لَ هَاؤُلاَء بَنَاتِي إِن ْ كُنْ تُمْ فَا عِلِي نَ
La`am ruka 'Inn ahum Lafī Sakratihim Ya`mahū na By your life, O Prophet Muhammad, they were madly blundering in their intoxication of lust![15.72] لَعَمْرُكَ إِنَّ هُمْ لَفِي سَكْرَتِهِمْ يَعْمَهُو نَ
Fa'akh adh at/humu A ş-Şayĥatu Mush r iqī na So the mighty blast overtook them at sunrise.[15.73] فَأَخَذَتْهُمُ ا ل صَّيْحَةُ مُشْر ِقِي نَ
Faja`alnā `Āliyahā Sāfilahā Wa 'Am ţarnā `Alayhim Ĥijāratan Min Sijjī lin Thus We turned the town upside down and rained down on them brimstones of baked clay.[15.74] فَجَعَلْنَا عَالِ يَهَا سَافِلَهَا وَأَمْطَرْنَا عَلَيْهِمْ حِجَارَةً مِن ْ سِجِّي لٍ
'Inn a Fī Dh ālika La'ā yā tin Lilmutawassimī na Surely there are major lessons in this for those who investigate,[15.75] إِنّ َ فِي ذَلِكَ لَآيَا تٍ لِلْمُتَوَسِّمِي نَ
Wa 'Inn ahā Labisabī lin Muqī min and this smitten town still lies right on the permanent highway on which the unbelievers travel during their business trips.[15.76] وَإِنَّ هَا لَبِسَبِي لٍ مُقِي مٍ
'Inn a Fī Dh ālika La'ā yatan Lilmu'uminī na Indeed there is a sign in this for the true believers.[15.77] إِنّ َ فِي ذَلِكَ لَآيَة ً لِلْمُؤْمِنِي نَ
Wa 'In Kā na 'Aşĥā bu A l-'Aykati Lažālimī na The people of Al-Aikah (the nation of Prophet Shu’aib) were also wrongdoers.[15.78] وَإِن ْ كَا نَ أَصْحَا بُ ا لأَيْكَةِ لَظَالِمِي نَ
Fān taqam nā Minhum Wa 'Inn ahumā Labi'imā min Mubī nin So We inflicted retribution on them. The ruined towns of these two nations are lying on an open road.[15.79] فَانْ تَقَمْنَا مِنْهُمْ وَإِنَّ هُمَا لَبِإِمَا مٍ مُبِي نٍ
Wa Laqad Kadh dh aba 'Aşĥā bu A l-Ĥij r i A l-Mursalī na The people of Hijr also denied their Rasool.[15.80] وَلَقَد ْ كَذَّبَ أَصْحَا بُ ا لْحِجْ ر ِ ا لْمُرْسَلِي نَ
Wa 'Ā taynāhum 'Ā yātinā Fakānū `Anhā Mu`r iđī na We gave them Our signs, but they ignored them.[15.81] وَآتَيْنَاهُمْ آيَاتِنَا فَكَانُوا عَنْهَا مُعْر ِضِي نَ
Wa Kānū Yanĥitū na Mina A l-Jibā li Buyūtāan 'Ā minī na They hewed their homes in the mountains for safety.[15.82] وَكَانُوا يَنْحِتُو نَ مِنَ ا لْجِبَا لِ بُيُوتاً آمِنِي نَ
Fa'akh adh at/humu A ş-Şayĥatu Muşbiĥī na But the mighty blast seized them one morning, and all their labor of building their homes through carving the rocks did not avail them.[15.83] فَأَخَذَتْهُمُ ا ل صَّيْحَةُ مُصْبِحِي نَ
Famā 'Agh n á `Anhum Mā Kānū Yaksibū na We have not created the Heavens and the Earth, and all that lies between them but to manifest the Truth.[15.84] فَمَا أَغْنَى عَنْهُم ْ مَا كَا نُوا يَكْسِبُو نَ
Wa Mā Kh alaq nā A s-Samāwā ti Wa A l-'Arđa Wa Mā Baynahumā 'Illā Bil-Ĥaqqi Wa 'Inn a A s-Sā`ata La'ā tiyatun Fāşfaĥi A ş-Şafĥa A l-Jamī la The Hour of Doom is sure to come, so overlook their misbehavior in a gracious manner.[15.85] وَمَا خَلَقْ نَا ا ل سَّمَاوَا تِ وَالأَرْضَ وَمَا بَيْنَهُمَا إِلاَّ بِا لْحَقِّ وَإِنّ َ ا ل سَّاعَةَ لَآتِيَةٌ فَا صْفَحِ ا ل صَّفْحَ ا لْجَمِي لَ
'Inn a Rabbaka Huwa A l-Kh allā qu A l-`Alī mu Surely your Rabb is the All-Knowing Creator.[15.86] إِنّ َ رَبَّكَ هُوَ ا لْخَلاَّقُ ا لْعَلِي مُ
Wa Laqad 'Ā taynā ka Sab `āan Mina A l-Math ānī Wa A l-Qur'ā na A l-`Ažī ma We have given you the Seven Verses that are worthy of recitation over and over again (Sürah Al-Fمtiha) and the Glorious Qur'an.[15.87] وَلَقَد ْ آتَيْنَا كَ سَبْ عاً مِنَ ا لْمَثَانِي وَالْقُرْآنَ ا لْعَظِي مَ
Lā Tamuddann a `Aynayka 'Ilá Mā Matta`nā Bihi 'Azwājāan Minhum Wa Lā Taĥzan `Alayhim Wa A kh fiđ Janāĥaka Lilmu'uminī na Do not look at the worldly wealth which We have given to different people among them, nor grieve at their condition. Leave them alone, attend to the believers in kindness,[15.88] لاَ تَمُدَّنّ َ عَيْنَيْكَ إِلَى مَا مَتَّعْنَا بِهِ أَزْوَاجاً مِنْهُمْ وَلاَ تَحْزَنْ عَلَيْهِمْ وَاخْفِضْ جَنَاحَكَ لِلْمُؤْمِنِي نَ
Wa Qul 'Inn ī 'Anā A n -Nadh ī r u A l-Mubī nu and tell the unbelievers: “Surely I am only a plain warner."[15.89] وَقُلْ إِنِّ ي أَنَا ا ل نَّ ذِي ر ُا لْمُبِي نُ
Kamā 'An zalnā `Alá A l-Muq tasimī na This warning is like the warning which We sent down to the schismatics,[15.90] كَمَا أَنْ زَلْنَا عَلَى ا لْمُقْ تَسِمِي نَ
Al-Ladh ī na Ja`alū A l-Qur'ā na `Iđī na the one who divided their Qur’an into separate parts, believing in some and denying others.[15.91] ا لَّذِي نَ جَعَلُوا ا لْقُرْآنَ عِضِي نَ
Fawarabbika Lanas'alann ahum 'Aj ma`ī na So by your Rabb! We will question them all[15.92] فَوَرَبِّكَ لَنَسْأَلَنَّ هُمْ أَجْ مَعِي نَ
`Amm ā Kānū Ya`malū na about their doings.[15.93] عَمَّ ا كَا نُوا يَعْمَلُو نَ
Fāşda` Bimā Tu'umaru Wa 'A`r iđ `Ani A l-Mush r ikī na Therefore, proclaim publicly what you are commanded and turn away from the mushrikïn.[15.94] فَاصْدَعْ بِمَا تُؤْمَرُ وَأَعْر ِضْ عَنِ ا لْمُشْر ِكِي نَ
'Inn ā Kafaynā ka A l-Mustahzi'ī na Surely We Ourself will suffice you against the scoffers;[15.95] إِنَّ ا كَفَيْنَا كَ ا لْمُسْتَهْزِئِي نَ
Al-Ladh ī na Yaj `alū na Ma`a A l-Lahi 'Ilahāan 'Ā kh ara Fasawfa Ya`lamū na those who place other deities alongside Allah, will soon come to know their folly.[15.96] ا لَّذِي نَ يَجْ عَلُو نَ مَعَ ا ل لَّهِ إِلَهاً آخَرَ فَسَوْفَ يَعْلَمُو نَ
Wa Laqad Na`lamu 'Ann aka Yađī qu Şad ruka Bimā Yaqūlū na We know that your heart is distressed by what they say against you.[15.97] وَلَقَد ْ نَعْلَمُ أَنَّ كَ يَضِي قُ صَد ْرُكَ بِمَا يَقُولُو نَ
Fasabbiĥ Biĥam di Rabbika Wa Kun Mina A s-Sājidī na The cure of your heart’s distress is that you should celebrate the praises of your Rabb and be of those who prostrate themselves before Him,[15.98] فَسَبِّحْ بِحَمْدِ رَبِّكَ وَكُن ْ مِنَ ا ل سَّاجِدِي نَ
Wa A `bud Rabbaka Ĥattá Ya'tiyaka A l-Yaqī nu and worship your Rabb until there comes to you which is certain (death).[15.99] وَاعْبُد ْ رَبَّكَ حَتَّى يَأْتِيَكَ ا لْيَقِي نُ
