| Wa Shāhidin Wa Mash/hūdin (Al-Burūj: 3).
|
And by the witness and the witnessed.

وَشَاهِدٍ وَمَشْهُودٍ |
| Qutila 'Aşĥābu Al-'Ukhdūdi (Al-Burūj: 4).
|
Destroyed were the People of the Trench.

قُتِلَ أَصْحَابُ الأُخْدُودِ |
| An-Nāri Dhāti Al-Waqūdi (Al-Burūj: 5).
|
The fire supplied with fuel.

النَّارِ ذَاتِ الْوَقُودِ |
| 'Idh Hum `Alayhā Qu`ūdun (Al-Burūj: 6).
|
While they sat around it.
085006 |
إِذْ هُمْ عَلَيْهَا قُعُودٌ |
| Wa Hum `Alá Mā Yaf`alūna Bil-Mu'uminīna Shuhūdun (Al-Burūj: 7).
|
And were witnessing what they did to the believers.
085007 |
وَهُمْ عَلَى مَا يَفْعَلُونَ بِالْمُؤْمِنِينَ شُهُودٌ |
| Wa Mā Naqamū Minhum 'Illā 'An Yu'uminū Billāhi Al-`Azīzi Al-Ĥamīdi (Al-Burūj: 8).
|
They begrudged them only because they believed in God the Almighty, the Praiseworthy.

وَمَا نَقَمُوا مِنْهُمْ إِلاَّ أَنْ يُؤْمِنُوا بِاللَّهِ الْعَزِيزِ الْحَمِيدِ |
| Al-Ladhī Lahu Mulku As-Samāwāti Wa Al-'Arđi ۚ Wa Allāhu `Alá Kulli Shay'in Shahīdun (Al-Burūj: 9).
|
To Whom belongs the sovereignty of the heavens and the earth. God is witness over everything.

الَّذِي لَهُ مُلْكُ السَّمَاوَاتِ وَالأَرْضِ ۚ وَاللَّهُ عَلَى كُلِّ شَيْءٍ شَهِيدٌ |
| 'Inna Al-Ladhīna Fatanū Al-Mu'uminīna Wa Al-Mu'umināti Thumma Lam Yatūbū Falahum `Adhābu Jahannama Wa Lahum `Adhābu Al-Ĥarīqi (Al-Burūj: 10).
|
Those who tempt the believers, men and women, then do not repent; for them is the punishment of Hell; for them is the punishment of Burning.

إِنَّ الَّذِينَ فَتَنُوا الْمُؤْمِنِينَ وَالْمُؤْمِنَاتِ ثُمَّ لَمْ يَتُوبُوا فَلَهُمْ عَذَابُ جَهَنَّمَ وَلَهُمْ عَذَابُ الْحَرِيقِ |
| 'Inna Al-Ladhīna 'Āmanū Wa `Amilū Aş-Şāliĥāti Lahum Jannātun Tajrī Min Taĥtihā Al-'Anhāru ۚ Dhālika Al-Fawzu Al-Kabīru (Al-Burūj: 11).
|
Those who believe and do righteous deeds will have Gardens beneath which rivers flow. That is the great triumph.

إِنَّ الَّذِينَ آمَنُوا وَعَمِلُوا الصَّالِحَاتِ لَهُمْ جَنَّاتٌ تَجْرِي مِنْ تَحْتِهَا الأَنْهَارُ ۚ ذَلِكَ الْفَوْزُ الْكَبِيرُ |
| 'Inna Baţsha Rabbika Lashadīdun (Al-Burūj: 12).
|
The onslaught of your Lord is severe.
085012 |
إِنَّ بَطْشَ رَبِّكَ لَشَدِيدٌ |
| 'Innahu Huwa Yubdi'u Wa Yu`īdu (Al-Burūj: 13).
|
It is He who begins and repeats.
085013 |
إِنَّهُ هُوَ يُبْدِئُ وَيُعِيدُ |
| Wa Huwa Al-Ghafūru Al-Wadūdu (Al-Burūj: 14).
|
And He is the Forgiving, the Loving.
085014 |
وَهُوَ الْغَفُورُ الْوَدُودُ |
| Dhū Al-`Arshi Al-Majīdu (Al-Burūj: 15).
|
Possessor of the Glorious Throne.
085015 |
ذُو الْعَرْشِ الْمَجِيدُ |
| Fa``ālun Limā Yurīdu (Al-Burūj: 16).
|
Doer of whatever He wills.
085016 |
فَعَّال ٌ لِمَا يُرِيدُ |
| Hal 'Atāka Ĥadīthu Al-Junūdi (Al-Burūj: 17).
|
Has there come to you the story of the legions?
085017 |
هَلْ أَتَاكَ حَدِيثُ الْجُنُودِ |
| Fir`awna Wa Thamūda (Al-Burūj: 18).
|
Of Pharaoh and Thamood?
085018 |
فِرْعَوْنَ وَثَمُودَ |
| Bali Al-Ladhīna Kafarū Fī Takdhībin (Al-Burūj: 19).
|
In fact, those who disbelieve are in denial.
085019 |
بَلِ الَّذِينَ كَفَرُوا فِي تَكْذِيبٍ |
| Wa Allāhu Min Warā'ihim Muĥīţun (Al-Burūj: 20).
|
And God encloses them from beyond.
085020 |
وَاللَّهُ مِنْ وَرَائِهِمْ مُحِيطٌ |
| Bal Huwa Qur'ānun Majīdun (Al-Burūj: 21).
|
In fact, it is a Glorious Quran.
085021 |
بَلْ هُوَ قُرْآنٌ مَجِيدٌ |
| Fī Lawĥin Maĥfūžin (Al-Burūj: 22).
|
