Tabbat Yadā 'Abī Lahabin Wa Tabba | َ111-001 Let the two hands of Abû Lahab (the Prophet´s uncle, one of his most inveterate opponents and other fiery tempered enemies of Islam) perish, and let he himself (also) perish! | تَبَّتْ يَدَا أَبِي لَهَب ٍ وَتَبَّ |
Mā 'Aghná `Anhu Māluhu Wa Mā Kasaba | َ111-002 His wealth and what he has accomplished shall avail him naught. | مَا أَغْنَى عَنْهُ مَالُه ُُ وَمَا كَسَبَ |
Sayaşlá Nārāan Dhāta Lahabin | َ111-003 He shall soon enter a Fire full of leaping flames (to burn others of his kind as well), | سَيَصْلَى نَارا ً ذَاتَ لَهَب ٍ |
Wa Amra'atuhu Ĥammālata Al-Ĥaţabi | َ111-004 And his wife too, the carrier of fire wood and bearer of slanders and calumnies (will also be enveloped in the flames); | وَامْرَأَتُه ُُ حَمَّالَةَ الْحَطَبِ |
Fī Jīdihā Ĥablun Min Masadin | َ111-005 Having round her neck a halter of twisted strands. | فِي جِيدِهَا حَبْل ٌ مِنْ مَسَد ٍ |
