| Al-Ladhīna Kafarū Wa Şaddū `An Sabīli Al-Lahi 'Ađalla 'A`mālahum | َ047-001 Those who disbelieve and bar people from the path of Allâh, He renders their works go in vain, | الَّذِينَ كَفَرُوا وَصَدُّوا عَنْ سَبِيلِ اللَّهِ أَضَلَّ أَعْمَالَهُمْ |
| Wa Al-Ladhīna 'Āmanū Wa `Amilū Aş-Şāliĥāti Wa 'Āmanū Bimā Nuzzila `Alá Muĥammadin Wa Huwa Al-Ĥaqqu Min ۙ Rabbihim Kaffara `Anhum Sayyi'ātihim Wa 'Aşlaĥa Bālahum | َ047-002 But as for those who bear faith and do deeds of righteousness and believe in that which is revealed to Muhammad, for it is the very Truth revealed by their Lord, He has purged them of their sins and has improved their (spiritual and temporal) condition. | وَالَّذِينَ آمَنُوا وَعَمِلُوا الصَّالِحَاتِ وَآمَنُوا بِمَا نُزِّلَ عَلَى مُحَمَّد ٍ وَهُوَ الْحَقُّ مِنْ رَبِّهِمْ ۙ كَفَّرَ عَنْهُمْ سَيِّئَاتِهِمْ وَأَصْلَحَ بَالَهُمْ |
| Dhālika Bi'anna Al-Ladhīna Kafarū Attaba`ū Al-Bāţila Wa 'Anna Al-Ladhīna 'Āmanū Attaba`ū Al-Ĥaqqa Min Rabbihim ۚ Kadhālika Yađribu Al-Lahu Lilnnāsi 'Amthālahum | َ047-003 That is because those who disbelieve follow falsehood while those who believe follow the Truth (revealed) from their Lord. That is how Allâh explains their condition to mankind (to make them understand). | ذَلِكَ بِأَنَّ الَّذِينَ كَفَرُوا اتَّبَعُوا الْبَاطِلَ وَأَنَّ الَّذِينَ آمَنُوا اتَّبَعُوا الْحَقَّ مِنْ رَبِّهِمْ ۚ كَذَلِكَ يَضْرِبُ اللَّهُ لِلنَّاسِ أَمْثَالَهُمْ |
| Fa'idhā Laqītumu Al-Ladhīna Kafarū Fađarba Ar-Riqābi Ĥattá 'Idhā 'Athkhantumūhum Fashuddū Al-Wathāqa Fa'immā Mannāan Ba`du Wa 'Immā Fidā'an Ĥattá Tađa`a Al-Ĥarbu 'Awzārahā ۚ Dhālika Wa Law Yashā'u Al-Lahu Lāntaşara Minhum Wa Lakin Liyabluwa Ba`đakum Biba`đin Wa ۗ Al-Ladhīna Qutilū Fī Sabīli Al-Lahi Falan Yuđilla 'A`mālahum | َ047-004 So (believers! now that you know the will of your Lord), when you meet in (regular) battle those who disbelieve strike off their heads. After you have bound them fast in fetters (as prisoners of war), then, afterwards, (release them, a must), either by way of grace or by (accepting) ransom. (That is the law,) until war lays down its weapons (and it is over). Such is (the ordinance of Allâh). Indeed if Allâh pleased He could have punished them (in other ways). But (the ways of warfare have been resorted to) so that He may reveal your worth at the hands of one another. As of those who are slain in the cause of Allâh He will never let their works go in vain. | فَإِذا لَقِيتُمُ الَّذِينَ كَفَرُوا فَضَرْبَ الرِّقَابِ حَتَّى إِذَا أَثْخَنتُمُوهُمْ فَشُدُّوا الْوَثَاقَ فَإِمَّا مَنّا ً بَعْدُ وَإِمَّا فِدَاءً حَتَّى تَضَعَ الْحَرْبُ أَوْزَارَهَا ۚ ذَلِكَ وَلَوْ يَشَاءُ اللَّهُ لاَنتَصَرَ مِنْهُمْ وَلَكِنْ لِيَبْلُوَ بَعْضَكُمْ بِبَعْض ٍ ۗ وَالَّذِينَ قُتِلُوا فِي سَبِيلِ اللَّهِ فَلَنْ يُضِلَّ أَعْمَالَهُمْ |
| Sayahdīhim Wa Yuşliĥu Bālahum | َ047-005 He will guide them (to success) and will improve their condition. | سَيَهْدِيهِمْ وَيُصْلِحُ بَالَهُمْ |
| Wa Yudkhiluhumu Al-Jannata `Arrafahā Lahum | َ047-006 Rather He will admit them into the Garden which He has made known to them (in the Qur´ân). | وَيُدْخِلُهُمُ الْجَنَّةَ عَرَّفَهَا لَهُمْ |
| Yā 'Ayyuhā Al-Ladhīna 'Āmanū 'In Tanşurū Al-Laha Yanşurkum Wa Yuthabbit 'Aqdāmakum | َ047-007 O You who believe! if you help (the cause of) Allâh He will help you and make your steps firm. | يَاأَيُّهَا الَّذِينَ آمَنُوا إِنْ تَنصُرُوا اللَّهَ يَنصُرْكُمْ وَيُثَبِّتْ أَقْدَامَكُمْ |
| Wa Al-Ladhīna Kafarū Fata`sāan Lahum Wa 'Ađalla 'A`mālahum | َ047-008 As for those who disbelieve there awaits them perdition. He will make their works (to see Islam fail and come to nought) bear no fruit. | وَالَّذِينَ كَفَرُوا فَتَعْسا ً لَهُمْ وَأَضَلَّ أَعْمَالَهُمْ |
| Dhālika Bi'annahum Karihū Mā 'Anzala Al-Lahu Fa'aĥbaţa 'A`mālahum | َ047-009 That is because they consider the revelations of Allâh a burden. That is why He has made their works all go waste. | ذَلِكَ بِأَنَّهُمْ كَرِهُوا مَا أَنزَلَ اللَّهُ فَأَحْبَطَ أَعْمَالَهُمْ |
| 'Afalam Yasīrū Fī Al-'Arđi Fayanžurū Kayfa Kāna `Āqibatu Al-Ladhīna Min Qablihim ۚ Dammara Al-Lahu `Alayhim ۖ Wa Lilkāfirīna 'Amthāluhā | َ047-010 Have they not travelled in the land and seen how (miserable) was the end to which their predecessors (who had disbelieved in the former Prophets) had come? Allâh utterly destroyed them. The same fate awaits these disbelievers. | أَفَلَمْ يَسِيرُوا فِي الأَرْضِ فَيَنظُرُوا كَيْفَ كَانَ عَاقِبَةُ الَّذِينَ مِنْ قَبْلِهِمْ ۚ دَمَّرَ اللَّهُ عَلَيْهِمْ ۖ وَلِلْكَافِرِينَ أَمْثَالُهَا |
| Dhālika Bi'anna Al-Laha Mawlá Al-Ladhīna 'Āmanū Wa 'Anna Al-Kāfirīna Lā Mawlá Lahum | َ047-011 That is because, (whereas) Allâh is a protecting friend of those who believe, the disbelievers have no protecting-friend. | ذَلِكَ بِأَنَّ اللَّهَ مَوْلَى الَّذِينَ آمَنُوا وَأَنَّ الْكَافِرِينَ لاَ مَوْلَى لَهُمْ |
| 'Inna Al-Laha Yudkhilu Al-Ladhīna 'Āmanū Wa `Amilū Aş-Şāliĥāti Jannātin Tajrī Min Taĥtihā Al-'Anhāru Wa ۖ Al-Ladhīna Kafarū Yatamatta`ūna Wa Ya'kulūna Kamā Ta'kulu Al-'An`ām Wa An-Nāru Mathwáan Lahum | َ047-012 Allâh will make those who believe and do deeds of righteousness enter the Gardens served with running streams (to keep them green and flourishing). As for the disbelievers they will enjoy themselves (a little in this life) and eat even as the cattle eat and the Fire will be the last resort for them. | إِنَّ اللَّهَ يُدْخِلُ الَّذِينَ آمَنُوا وَعَمِلُوا الصَّالِحَاتِ جَنَّات ٍ تَجْرِي مِنْ تَحْتِهَا الأَنْهَارُ ۖ وَالَّذِينَ كَفَرُوا يَتَمَتَّعُونَ وَيَأْكُلُونَ كَمَا تَأْكُلُ الأَنعَام وَالنَّارُ مَثْوى ً لَهُمْ |
| Wa Ka'ayyin Min Qaryatin Hiya 'Ashaddu Qūwatan Min Qaryatika Allatī 'Akhrajatka 'Ahlaknāhum Falā Nāşira Lahum | َ047-013 (Prophet!) so many townships were more powerful than this your town (of Makkah) which has driven you out, but We destroyed them, and they had no helper. | وَكَأَيِّنْ مِنْ قَرْيَةٍ هِيَ أَشَدُّ قُوَّة ً مِنْ قَرْيَتِكَ الَّتِي أَخْرَجَتْكَ أَهْلَكْنَاهُمْ فَلاَ نَاصِرَ لَهُمْ |
| 'Afaman Kāna `Alá Bayyinatin Min Rabbihi Kaman Zuyyina Lahu Sū'u `Amalihi Wa Attaba`ū 'Ahwā'ahum | َ047-014 Can those people who take their stand upon a clear proof from their Lord, be compared to those to whom the evils of their deeds are made to seem attractive and who follow their low desires? | أَفَمَنْ كَانَ عَلَى بَيِّنَة ٍ مِنْ رَبِّه ِِ كَمَنْ زُيِّنَ لَه ُُ سُوءُ عَمَلِه ِِ وَاتَّبَعُوا أَهْوَاءَهُمْ |
| Mathalu Al-Jannati Allatī Wu`ida Al-Muttaqūna ۖ Fīhā 'Anhārun Min Mā'in Ghayri 'Āsinin Wa 'Anhārun Min Labanin Lam Yataghayyar Ţa`muhu Wa 'Anhārun Min Khamrin Ladhdhatin Lilshshāribīna Wa 'Anhārun Min `Asalin Muşaffáan ۖ Wa Lahum Fīhā Min Kulli Ath-Thamarāti Wa Maghfiratun Min Rabbihim ۖ Kaman Huwa Khālidun Fī An-Nāri Wa Suqū Mā'an Ĥamīmāan Faqaţţa`a 'Am`ā'ahum | َ047-015 (Here is) a description of the Garden promised to those who guard against evil. Therein are streams of water (which is) unstaling, and streams of milk the taste and flavour of which does not change, and streams of juice extracted from grapes, a delight to the drinkers, and streams (too) of clarified honey, and they will have in it all kinds of fruit, and (a provision of) protection from their Lord. Can (those who enjoy such blessings of this Garden) be like those who shall abide in the Fire for long and who will be given boiling water to drink so that it tears their bowels into pieces. | مَثَلُ الْجَنَّةِ الَّتِي وُعِدَ الْمُتَّقُونَ ۖ فِيهَا أَنْهَار ٌ مِنْ مَاءٍ غَيْرِ آسِن ٍ وَأَنْهَار ٌ مِنْ لَبَن ٍ لَمْ يَتَغَيَّرْ طَعْمُه ُُ وَأَنْهَار ٌ مِنْ خَمْر ٍ لَذَّة ٍ لِلشَّارِبِينَ وَأَنْهَار ٌ مِنْ عَسَل ٍ مُصَفّى ً ۖ وَلَهُمْ فِيهَا مِنْ كُلِّ الثَّمَرَاتِ وَمَغْفِرَة ٌ مِنْ رَبِّهِمْ ۖ كَمَنْ هُوَ خَالِد ٌ فِي النَّارِ وَسُقُوا مَاءً حَمِيما ً فَقَطَّعَ أَمْعَاءَهُمْ |
| Wa Minhum Man Yastami`u 'Ilayka Ĥattá 'Idhā Kharajū Min `Indika Qālū Lilladhīna 'Ūtū Al-`Ilma Mādhā Qāla 'Ānifāan ۚ 'Ūlā'ika Al-Ladhīna Ţaba`a Al-Lahu `Alá Qulūbihim Wa Attaba`ū 'Ahwā'ahum | َ047-016 And there are some (hypocrites) among them who (pretend to) listen to you. Yet when they go out from your presence they say to those who have been given knowledge, `What was it he said just now?´ These are the people whose hearts Allâh has sealed and who follow their low desires. | وَمِنْهُمْ مَنْ يَسْتَمِعُ إِلَيْكَ حَتَّى إِذَا خَرَجُوا مِنْ عِنْدِكَ قَالُوا لِلَّذِينَ أُوتُوا الْعِلْمَ مَاذَا قَالَ آنِفاً ۚ أُوْلَائِكَ الَّذِينَ طَبَعَ اللَّهُ عَلَى قُلُوبِهِمْ وَاتَّبَعُوا أَهْوَاءَهُمْ |
| Wa Al-Ladhīna Ahtadaw Zādahum Hudáan Wa 'Ātāhum Taqwhum | َ047-017 As for those who follow true guidance He leads them far ahead in their right ways (in the light of His guidance) and grants them piety and restraints from evil suited to their condition. | وَالَّذِينَ اهْتَدَوْا زَادَهُمْ هُدى ً وَآتَاهُمْ تَقْواهُمْ |
| Fahal Yanžurūna 'Illā As-Sā`ata 'An Ta'tiyahum Baghtatan ۖ Faqad Jā'a 'Ashrāţuhā ۚ Fa'anná Lahum 'Idhā Jā'at/hum Dhikrāhum | َ047-018 These (disbelievers) only wait for the (promised) Hour (of doom) to take them unaware. Its signs have already appeared. But of what (avail) will their admonition be to them (and how will they be able to repent) when it actually comes upon them (all of a sudden). | فَهَلْ يَنْظُرُونَ إِلاَّ السَّاعَةَ أَنْ تَأْتِيَهُمْ بَغْتَة ً ۖ فَقَدْ جَاءَ أَشْرَاطُهَا ۚ فَأَنَّى لَهُمْ إِذَا جَاءَتْهُمْ ذِكْرَاهُمْ |
| Fā`lam 'Annahu Lā 'Ilāha 'Illā Al-Lahu Wa Astaghfir Lidhanbika Wa Lilmu'uminīna Wa Al-Mu'umināti Wa ۗ Allāhu Ya`lamu Mutaqallabakum Wa Mathwākum | َ047-019 (Believer!) know, therefore, that there is no other, cannot be and will never be One worthy of worship other than Allâh and seek His protection and forgiveness for your (human) shortcomings and (also) for believing men and believing women. Allâh knows your haunt (where you move about), and your resting-place. | فَاعْلَمْ أَنَّهُ لاَ إِلَهَ~َ إِلاَّ اللَّهُ وَاسْتَغْفِرْ لِذَنْبِكَ وَلِلْمُؤْمِنِينَ وَالْمُؤْمِنَاتِ ۗ وَاللَّهُ يَعْلَمُ مُتَقَلَّبَكُمْ وَمَثْوَاكُمْ |
| Wa Yaqūlu Al-Ladhīna 'Āmanū Lawlā Nuzzilat Sūratun ۖ Fa'idhā 'Unzilat Sūratun Muĥkamatun Wa Dhukira Fīhā Al-Qitālu ۙ Ra'ayta Al-Ladhīna Fī Qulūbihim Marađun Yanžurūna 'Ilayka Nažara Al-Maghshīyi `Alayhi Mina Al-Mawti ۖ Fa'awlá Lahum | َ047-020 Those who believe say, `Why is no Sûrah (- Qur´ânic chapter permitting us to go to war) revealed?´ But when a (definite) Sûrah of basic and categorical meaning and speaking of war was revealed you find those in whose hearts is a disease (of hypocrisy) looking at you like the looking of a person whose understanding is clouded for (fear of approaching) death. Therefore woe to them! | وَيَقُولُ الَّذِينَ آمَنُوا لَوْلاَ نُزِّلَتْ سُورَة ٌ ۖ فَإِذَا أُنزِلَتْ سُورَة ٌ مُحْكَمَة ٌ وَذُكِرَ فِيهَا الْقِتَالُ ۙ رَأَيْتَ الَّذِينَ فِي قُلُوبِهِمْ مَرَض ٌ يَنظُرُونَ إِلَيْكَ نَظَرَ الْمَغْشِيِّ عَلَيْهِ مِنَ الْمَوْتِ ۖ فَأَوْلَى لَهُمْ |
| Ţā`atun Wa Qawlun Ma`rūfun ۚ Fa'idhā `Azama Al-'Amru Falaw Şadaqū Al-Laha Lakāna Khayrāan Lahum | َ047-021 (More fitting and proper for them was) to obey and to say what is just and good. And when the matter (of fighting) is (once) resolved upon (and war breaks out) it is better for them if they remain true to Allâh (and fulfill the covenant they made with Him). | طَاعَة ٌ وَقَوْل ٌ مَعْرُوف ٌ ۚ فَإِذَا عَزَمَ الأَمْرُ فَلَوْ صَدَقُوا اللَّهَ لَكَانَ خَيْرا ً لَهُمْ |
| Fahal `Asaytum 'In Tawallaytum 'An Tufsidū Fī Al-'Arđi Wa Tuqaţţi`ū 'Arĥāmakum | َ047-022 (Hypocrites!) it is more likely that if you are given authority and power, you will create disorder in the land and violate your ties of kinship. | فَهَلْ عَسَيْتُمْ إِنْ تَوَلَّيْتُمْ أَنْ تُفْسِدُوا فِي الأَرْضِ وَتُقَطِّعُوا أَرْحَامَكُمْ |
| 'Ūlā'ika Al-Ladhīna La`anahumu Al-Lahu Fa'aşammahum Wa 'A`má 'Abşārahum | َ047-023 Such are the people whom Allâh has deprived of His mercy, so that He has made them deaf (to hear the truth) and has made their eyes blind (so they cannot see the right way). | أُوْلَائِكَ الَّذِينَ لَعَنَهُمُ اللَّهُ فَأَصَمَّهُمْ وَأَعْمَى أَبْصَارَهُمْ |
| 'Afalā Yatadabbarūna Al-Qur'āna 'Am `Alá Qulūbin 'Aqfāluhā | َ047-024 Is it that they do not earnestly seek to understand the Qur´ân? Rather (their) hearts are securely locked up by their own locks. | أَفَلاَ يَتَدَبَّرُونَ الْقُرْآنَ أَمْ عَلَى قُلُوبٍ أَقْفَالُهَا |
| 'Inna Al-Ladhīna Artaddū `Alá 'Adbārihim Min Ba`di Mā Tabayyana Lahumu Al-Hudá ۙ Ash-Shayţānu Sawwala Lahum Wa 'Amlá Lahum | َ047-025 Surely, those who turned back (to apostasy) after true guidance had dawned upon them, satan has made fair-seeming to them (this action of theirs) and has held out false hopes to them. | إِنَّ الَّذِينَ ارْتَدُّوا عَلَى أَدْبَارِهِمْ مِنْ بَعْدِ مَا تَبَيَّنَ لَهُمُ الْهُدَى ۙ الشَّيْطَانُ سَوَّلَ لَهُمْ وَأَمْلَى لَهُمْ |
| Dhālika Bi'annahum Qālū Lilladhīna Karihū Mā Nazzala Al-Lahu Sanuţī`ukum Fī Ba`đi Al-'Amri Wa ۖ Allāhu Ya`lamu 'Isrārahum | َ047-026 That is because they (- the hypocrites) said (in secret) to these (Jews) who consider the revelations of Allâh as a burden, `We will obey you in some matters.´ But Allâh knows their secrets. | ذَلِكَ بِأَنَّهُمْ قَالُوا لِلَّذِينَ كَرِهُوا مَا نَزَّلَ اللَّهُ سَنُطِيعُكُمْ فِي بَعْضِ الأَمْرِ ۖ وَاللَّهُ يَعْلَمُ إِسْرَارَهُمْ |
| Fakayfa 'Idhā Tawaffat/humu Al-Malā'ikatu Yađribūna Wujūhahum Wa 'Adbārahum | َ047-027 But how (will they fare), when the angels cause them to die, smiting them on their faces and their backs? | فَكَيْفَ إِذَا تَوَفَّتْهُمُ الْمَلاَئِكَةُ يَضْرِبُونَ وُجُوهَهُمْ وَأَدْبَارَهُمْ |
| Dhālika Bi'annahumu Attaba`ū Mā 'Askhaţa Al-Laha Wa Karihū Riđwānahu Fa'aĥbaţa 'A`mālahum | َ047-028 (They will be treated) thus, because they followed that which called forth the displeasure of Allâh and were averse to (seeking) His good pleasure. That is why He will make their deeds fruitless. | ذَلِكَ بِأَنَّهُمُ اتَّبَعُوا مَا أَسْخَطَ اللَّهَ وَكَرِهُوا رِضْوَانَه ُُ فَأَحْبَطَ أَعْمَالَهُمْ |
| 'Am Ĥasiba Al-Ladhīna Fī Qulūbihim Marađun 'An Lan Yukhrija Al-Lahu 'Ađghānahum | َ047-029 Do the people with diseased minds suppose that Allâh will never bring their malice to light? | أَمْ حَسِبَ الَّذِينَ فِي قُلُوبِهِمْ مَرَضٌ أَنْ لَنْ يُخْرِجَ اللَّهُ أَضْغَانَهُمْ |
| Wa Law Nashā'u La'araynākahum Fala`araftahum Bisīmāhum ۚ Wa Lata`rifannahum Fī Laĥni Al-Qawli Wa ۚ Allāhu Ya`lamu 'A`mālakum | َ047-030 Indeed, if We so will We could show them to you so that you would know them by their appearance, yet you shall of course recognise them from the tenor of (their) speech. (Allâh knows their empty words as) He knows your (solid) deeds. | وَلَوْ نَشَاءُ لَأَرَيْنَاكَهُمْ فَلَعَرَفْتَهُمْ بِسِيمَاهُمْ ۚ وَلَتَعْرِفَنَّهُمْ فِي لَحْنِ الْقَوْلِ ۚ وَاللَّهُ يَعْلَمُ أَعْمَالَكُمْ |
| Wa Lanabluwannakum Ĥattá Na`lama Al-Mujāhidīna Minkum Wa Aş-Şābirīna Wa Nabluwa 'Akhbārakum | َ047-031 (Muslims!) We will put you to trial until We make manifest those among you who strive their utmost (in the cause of Allâh), and those who persevere in patience, and We will (entrust you with such tasks as may) bring to light your reported mettle (and inner merits). | وَلَنَبْلُوَنَّكُمْ حَتَّى نَعْلَمَ الْمُجَاهِدِينَ مِنْكُمْ وَالصَّابِرِينَ وَنَبْلُوَ أَخْبَارَكُمْ |
| 'Inna Al-Ladhīna Kafarū Wa Şaddū `An Sabīli Al-Lahi Wa Shāqqū Ar-Rasūla Min Ba`di Mā Tabayyana Lahumu Al-Hudá Lan Yađurrū Al-Laha Shay'āan Wa Sayuĥbiţu 'A`mālahum | َ047-032 Those who disbelieve and hinder (people) from following the path of Allâh and oppose the Messenger after true guidance has become clear to them, can do no harm to Allâh. But He will let (such) deeds of theirs bear no fruit. | إِنَّ الَّذِينَ كَفَرُوا وَصَدُّوا عَنْ سَبِيلِ اللَّهِ وَشَاقُّوا الرَّسُولَ مِنْ بَعْدِ مَا تَبَيَّنَ لَهُمُ الهُدَى لَنْ يَضُرُّوا اللَّهَ شَيْئا ً وَسَيُحْبِطُ أَعْمَالَهُمْ |
| Yā 'Ayyuhā Al-Ladhīna 'Āmanū 'Aţī`ū Al-Laha Wa 'Aţī`ū Ar-Rasūla Wa Lā Tubţilū 'A`mālakum | َ047-033 O you who believe! obey Allâh and obey the Messengers and do not let your deeds go in vain. | يَاأَيُّهَا الَّذِينَ آمَنُوا أَطِيعُوا اللَّهَ وَأَطِيعُوا الرَّسُولَ وَلاَ تُبْطِلُوا أَعْمَالَكُمْ |
| 'Inna Al-Ladhīna Kafarū Wa Şaddū `An Sabīli Al-Lahi Thumma Mātū Wa Hum Kuffārun Falan Yaghfira Al-Lahu Lahum | َ047-034 Allâh will never grant protection (from their sins) to those who disbelieved and hindered (people) from (following) the path of Allâh and then died while they were (still) disbelievers. | إِنَّ الَّذِينَ كَفَرُوا وَصَدُّوا عَنْ سَبِيلِ اللَّهِ ثُمَّ مَاتُوا وَهُمْ كُفَّار ٌ فَلَنْ يَغْفِرَ اللَّهُ لَهُمْ |
| Falā Tahinū Wa Tad`ū 'Ilá As-Salmi Wa 'Antumu Al-'A`lawna Wa Allāhu Ma`akum Wa Lan Yatirakum 'A`mālakum | َ047-035 (Believers! when fighting once starts) do not be mean so as to sue for peace. You will certainly have the upper hand. Allâh is with you. He will never let you suffer a loss in (the reward) of your (good) deeds. | فَلاَ تَهِنُوا وَتَدْعُوا إِلَى السَّلْمِ وَأَنْتُمُ الأَعْلَوْنَ وَاللَّهُ مَعَكُمْ وَلَنْ يَتِرَكُمْ أَعْمَالَكُمْ |
| 'Innamā Al-Ĥayāatu Ad-Dunyā La`ibun Wa Lahwun ۚ Wa 'In Tu'uminū Wa Tattaqū Yu'utikum 'Ujūrakum Wa Lā Yas'alkum 'Amwālakum | َ047-036 (Hypocrites!) the present life is only unreal and makes you ignore and forgetful (of your duties towards God). If you believe and guard against evil He will give you your reward and will not ask of you your wealth (to confiscate it from you but He wishes to repay the efforts you make with your wealth). | إِنَّمَا الحَيَاةُ الدُّنْيَا لَعِب ٌ وَلَهْو ٌ ۚ وَإِنْ تُؤْمِنُوا وَتَتَّقُوا يُؤْتِكُمْ أُجُورَكُمْ وَلاَ يَسْأَلْكُمْ أَمْوَالَكُمْ |
| 'In Yas'alkumūhā Fayuĥfikum Tabkhalū Wa Yukhrij 'Ađghānakum | َ047-037 Should He ask you for it (- your wealth) and press you (for it), you would show stinginess and this (niggardliness) will bring to surface your malice (and hatred towards the divine Faith). | إِنْ يَسْأَلْكُمُوهَا فَيُحْفِكُمْ تَبْخَلُوا وَيُخْرِجْ أَضْغَانَكُمْ |
| Hā'antum Hā'uulā' Tud`awna Litunfiqū Fī Sabīli Al-Lahi Faminkum Man Yabkhalu Wa Man ۖ Yabkhal Fa'innamā Yabkhalu `An Nafsihi Wa Allāhu ۚ Al-Ghanīyu Wa 'Antumu Al-Fuqarā'u Wa 'In ۚ Tatawallaw Yastabdil Qawmāan Ghayrakum Thumma Lā Yakūnū 'Amthālakum | َ047-038 Behold! you are those who are called upon to spend in the cause of Allâh. Yet some of you are niggardly. (Remember that) whoever is niggardly is niggardly only against his own self. Otherwise Allâh is Self-sufficient (having no needs) and it is you who are the needy ones. And if you turn back (from the truth), He will replace you with another people and they will not (behave) like you. | هَاأَنْتُمْ هَاؤُلاَء تُدْعَوْنَ لِتُنفِقُوا فِي سَبِيلِ اللَّهِ فَمِنْكُمْ مَنْ يَبْخَلُ وَمَنْ ۖ يَبْخَلْ فَإِنَّمَا يَبْخَلُ عَنْ نَفْسِه ِِ وَاللَّهُ ۚ الْغَنِيُّ وَأَنْتُمُ الْفُقَرَاءُ وَإِنْ ۚ تَتَوَلَّوْا يَسْتَبْدِلْ قَوْماً غَيْرَكُمْ ثُمَّ لاَ يَكُونُوا أَمْثَالَكُمْ |
