Fakadhdhabūhu Fa'akhadhahum `Adhābu Yawmi Až-Žullati  ۚ  'Innahu Kāna `Adhāba Yawmin `Ažīmin َ026-189 Yet they cried him lies, so the punishment of the gloomy day with dark overshadowing clouds overtook them; it was indeed the punishment of an awful day.
'Inna Fī Dhālika La'āyatan  ۖ  Wa Mā Kāna 'Aktharuhum Mu'uminīna َ026-190 Behold! there is a great sign in this (episode), yet most of them would not be believers.
Wa 'Inna Rabbaka Lahuwa Al-`Azīzu Ar-Raĥīmu َ026-191 Though infact your Lord, He is the All-Mighty, the Ever Merciful.
Wa 'Innahu Latanzīlu Rabbi Al-`Ālamīna َ026-192 And verily this (Qur´ân) is a revelation from the Lord of the worlds.
Nazala Bihi Ar-Rūĥu Al-'Amīnu َ026-193 The Spirit, Faithful to the Trust (- Gabriel) has descended with it.
`Alá Qalbika Litakūna Mina Al-Mundhirīna َ026-194 (Revealing it) to your heart with the result that you became of the Warners (- a Prophet of God);
Bilisānin `Arabīyin Mubīnin َ026-195 (The Qur´ân has been revealed) in plain and clear Arabic language.
Wa 'Innahu Lafī Zuburi Al-'Awwalīna َ026-196 Verily, it (is the Book which) finds mention in the Scriptures of the earlier peoples.
'Awalam Yakun Lahum 'Āyatan 'An Ya`lamahu `Ulamā'u Banī 'Isrā'īla َ026-197 Is it not a sufficient proof for them that the learned among the Children of Israel recognize it (- the Qur´ân)?
Wa Law Nazzalnāhu `Alá Ba`đi Al-'A`jamīna َ026-198 And if We had revealed it to one of the non-Arabs,
Faqara'ahu `Alayhim Mā Kānū Bihi Mu'uminīna َ026-199 And he had recited this (eloquent word of God in Arabic) to them, (even then) they would never have believed in it.
Kadhālika Salaknāhu Fī Qulūbi Al-Mujrimīna َ026-200 That is how We cause it (- the disbelief) take root in the hearts of those who cut off their ties (with God),
Lā Yu'uminūna Bihi Ĥattá Yaraw Al-`Adhāba Al-'Alīma َ026-201 (That) they will not believe in it until they see the grievous punishment.
Faya'tiyahum Baghtatan Wa Hum Lā Yash`urūna َ026-202 So this (punishment) will come upon them all of a sudden (taking them unaware), while they do not perceive (and calculate it).
Fayaqūlū Hal Naĥnu Munžarūna َ026-203 They will say then, `Shall we be given some respite?´ فَيَقُولُوا هَلْ نَحْنُ مُنظَرُونَ
'Afabi`adhābinā Yasta`jilūna َ026-204 Is that why they seek to expedite Our punishment?
'Afara'ayta 'In Matta`nāhum Sinīna َ026-205 Do you not see that even if We let them enjoy (worldly bounties) for some more years,
Thumma Jā'ahum Mā Kānū Yū`adūna َ026-206 And then that (punishment) with which they are threatened befalls them;
Mā 'Aghná `Anhum Mā Kānū Yumatta`ūna َ026-207 That (respite) which they were allowed to enjoy will be of no avail to them?
Wa Mā 'Ahlaknā Min Qaryatin 'Illā Lahā Mundhirūna َ026-208 And never did We destroy (any people of) a township but it had (its) Warners;

'Innahum `Ani As-Sam`i Lama`zūlūna َ026-212 Infact, they (- the evil ones) are precluded from listening (to the Divine revelation).
Falā Tad`u Ma`a Al-Lahi 'Ilahāan 'Ākhara Fatakūna Mina Al-Mu`adhdhabīna َ026-213 Therefore call on no god beside Allâh, for (if you do) you will become of those who are (severely) punished.

Wa Tawakkal `Alá Al-`Azīzi Ar-Raĥīmi َ026-217 And put your trust in the All-Mighty, the Ever Merciful (God),

Wa Taqallubaka Fī As-Sājidīna َ026-219 And (Who sees) your moving about among those (Companions) who prostrate themselves (before the All-Mighty Lord).
'Innahu Huwa As-Samī`u Al-`Alīmu َ026-220 Verily, He is the All-Hearing, the All-Knowing
Hal 'Unabbi'ukum `Alá Man Tanazzalu Ash-Shayāţīnu َ026-221 Shall I tell you to whom the evil ones appear?

'Alam Tará 'Annahum Fī Kulli Wādin Yahīmūna َ026-225 Do you not see how they wander distracted in every valley,
Wa 'Annahum Yaqūlūna Mā Lā Yaf`alūna َ026-226 And they say (such things) which they do not practice (themselves),
