'Alif-Lām-Rā Tilka 'Āyātu Al-Kitābi Wa Qur'ānin Mubīnin َ015-001 Alif Lâm Râ. These are the verses of the perfect Book and of the Qur´ân, that distinguishes the right from the wrong.
Rubamā Yawaddu Al-Ladhīna Kafarū Law Kānū Muslimīna َ015-002 Often those who disbelieve (in the verses of this perfect Book) would wish they had been Muslims.
Dharhum Ya'kulū Wa Yatamatta`ū Wa Yulhihimu Al-'Amalu  ۖ  Fasawfa Ya`lamūna َ015-003 Leave them alone to eat and enjoy themselves and let vain hopes beguile them, but they will soon know (the reality).
Wa Mā 'Ahlaknā Min Qaryatin 'Illā Wa Lahā Kitābun Ma`lūmun َ015-004 And never did We destroy a township but it had a decree made known.
Mā Tasbiqu Min 'Ummatin 'Ajalahā Wa Mā Yasta'khirūna َ015-005 No people can outstrip its term and none can ever remain behind.
Wa Qālū Yā 'Ayyuhā Al-Ladhī Nuzzila `Alayhi Adh-Dhikru 'Innaka Lamajnūnun َ015-006 And they say, `O you to whom this Reminder (- the Qur´ân) has been revealed! you are a mad man indeed.
Law Mā Ta'tīnā Bil-Malā'ikati 'In Kunta Mina Aş-Şādiqīna َ015-007 `Why do you not bring the angels (for punishment) to us, if you are of the truthful?´ لَوْ مَا تَأْتِينَا بِالْمَلاَئِكَةِ إِنْ كُنْتَ مِنَ الصَّادِقِينَ
Mā Nunazzilu Al-Malā'ikata 'Illā Bil-Ĥaqqi Wa Mā Kānū 'Idhāan Munžarīna َ015-008 We send no angels until (the punishment becomes) rightly due and (when once We do send them) these (disbelievers) will not be the respited ones.
'Innā Naĥnu Nazzalnā Adh-Dhikra Wa 'Innā Lahu Laĥāfižūna َ015-009 Verily, it was We, We Ourself Who have revealed this Reminder (- the Qur´ân); and it is We Who are, most certainly, its Guardian.
Wa Laqad 'Arsalnā Min Qablika Fī Shiya`i Al-'Awwalīna َ015-010 Indeed, We sent (Messengers) before you to the sects of the former peoples,
Wa Mā Ya'tīhim Min Rasūlin 'Illā Kānū Bihi Yastahzi'ūna َ015-011 Yet not a single Messenger ever came to them but they treated him scornfully.
Kadhālika Naslukuhu Fī Qulūbi Al-Mujrimīna َ015-012 (Just as We made this a habit with the peoples gone by,) so do We cause this (tendency of scornful treatment) enter the minds of these people who sever their ties (with God).
Lā Yu'uminūna Bihi  ۖ  Wa Qad Khalat Sunnatu Al-'Awwalīna َ015-013 They will not believe in this (Qur´ân), though the precedence of the former peoples has already gone (before them showing how the opposition of truth makes them deserving of the punishment of God).
Wa Law Fataĥnā `Alayhim Bābāan Mina As-Samā'i Fažallū Fīhi Ya`rujūna َ015-014 And if We opened to them a gate of the heaven and they (-the angels) began ascending through it,
Laqālū 'Innamā Sukkirat 'Abşārunā Bal Naĥnu Qawmun Masĥūrūna َ015-015 Even then these people would surely say, `Our eyes have only been dazed; rather We are a bewitched people.´ لَقَالُوا إِنَّمَا سُكِّرَتْ أَبْصَارُنَا بَلْ نَحْنُ قَوْم ٌ مَسْحُورُونَ
Wa Laqad Ja`alnā Fī As-Samā'i Burūjāan Wa Zayyannāhā Lilnnāžirīna َ015-016 We have indeed set up constellations in the heaven, and We have decked it fair for the beholders,
Wa Ĥafižnāhā Min Kulli Shayţānin Rajīmin َ015-017 And We have guarded it against (the intrusion of) every rebellious rejected satan.
'Illā Mani Astaraqa As-Sam`a Fa'atba`ahu Shihābun Mubīnun َ015-018 As to one who wishes to steal a hearing (of the revelation to distort it) a bright fiery flame pursues him.
Wa Al-'Arđa Madadnāhā Wa 'Alqaynā Fīhā Rawāsiya Wa 'Anbatnā Fīhā Min Kulli Shay'in Mawzūnin َ015-019 We have spread out and put fertilizers in the earth from outside, and set up firm mountains therein, and We have caused to grow upon it every suitable thing in due proportion.
Wa Ja`alnā Lakum Fīhā Ma`āyisha Wa Man Lastum Lahu Birāziqīna َ015-020 And We have provided in it means of livelihood for you and even for (all) others whom it is not for you to provide.
Wa 'In Min Shay'in 'Illā `Indanā Khazā'inuhu Wa Mā Nunazziluhu 'Illā Biqadarin Ma`lūmin َ015-021 And there is not a thing but We have the vast treasures of it; and We do not send it down but according to a proper and prescribed measure.
Wa 'Arsalnā Ar-Riyāĥa Lawāqiĥa Fa'anzalnā Mina As-Samā'i Mā'an Fa'asqaynākumūhu Wa Mā 'Antum Lahu Bikhāzinīna َ015-022 And We send impregnating winds and pour water from the clouds and give it to you to drink. You are not the ones to store it up.
Wa 'Innā Lanaĥnu Nuĥyī Wa Numītu Wa Naĥnu Al-Wārithūna َ015-023 And surely it is We, Ourself Who give life and cause death; and it is We Who are the (sole) survivors (after every thing perishes).
Wa Laqad `Alim Al-Mustaqdimīna Minkum Wa Laqad `Alim Al-Musta'khirīna َ015-024 And indeed We know those among you who are the foremost in accepting the truth, and We indeed know those who are the laggards.
Wa 'Inna Rabbaka Huwa Yaĥshuruhum  ۚ  'Innahu Ĥakīmun `Alīmun َ015-025 And certainly it is your Lord Who will gather them together; verily, He is All-Wise, All-Knowing.
Wa Laqad Khalaq Al-'Insāna Min Şalşālin Min Ĥama'iin Masnūnin َ015-026 Surely, We created human being from dry ringing clay, (transformed) from black mud moulded into shape.
Wa Al-Jānna Khalaqnāhu Min Qablu Min Nāri As-Samūmi َ015-027 And We created the jinn before (him) from the fire of intensely hot wind.
Wa 'Idh Qāla Rabbuka Lilmalā'ikati 'Innī Khāliqun Basharāan Min Şalşālin Min Ĥama'iin Masnūnin َ015-028 And (recall the time) when your Lord said to the angels, `I am, indeed, going to create a human being from dry ringing clay (formed) from black mud, moulded into shape.
Fa'idhā Sawwaytuhu Wa Nafakhtu Fīhi Min Rūĥī Faqa`ū Lahu Sājidīna َ015-029 `So when I have shaped him in perfection and have breathed My revelation into him, fall you down in submission to him.´ فَإِذَا سَوَّيْتُه ُُ وَنَفَخْتُ فِيه ِِ مِنْ رُوحِي فَقَعُوا لَه ُُ سَاجِدِينَ
Fasajada Al-Malā'ikatu Kulluhum 'Ajma`ūna َ015-030 And (when He created the human being,) the angels submitted, all of them together.
'Illā 'Iblīsa 'Abá 'An Yakūna Ma`a As-Sājidīna َ015-031 But Iblîs (though he was separately bidden to do the same, did not). He stubbornly refused to be with those who submit.
Qāla Yā 'Iblīsu Mā Laka 'Allā Takūna Ma`a As-Sājidīna َ015-032 (Lord) said, `Iblîs! what is (the reason) with you that you would not be with those who submit?´ قَالَ يَا إِبْلِيسُ مَا لَكَ أَلاَّ تَكُونَ مَعَ السَّاجِدِينَ
Qāla Lam 'Akun Li'sjuda Libasharin Khalaqtahu Min Şalşālin Min Ĥama'iin Masnūnin َ015-033 He replied, `I would never submit to a human being whom You have created from dry ringing clay (formed) from black mud, moulded into shape.´ قَالَ لَمْ أَكُنْ لِأسْجُدَ لِبَشَرٍ خَلَقْتَه ُُ مِنْ صَلْصَال ٍ مِنْ حَمَإ ٍ مَسْنُون ٍ
Qāla Fākhruj Minhā Fa'innaka Rajīmun َ015-034 (Lord) said, `(If it is so) then get out from this (state), for, surely, you are rejected.
Wa 'Inna `Alayka Al-La`nata 'Ilá Yawmi Ad-Dīni َ015-035 `And of course (My) disapproval shall be on you till the Day of Requital.´ وَإِنَّ عَلَيْكَ اللَّعْنَةَ إِلَى يَوْمِ الدِّينِ
Qāla Rabbi Fa'anžirnī 'Ilá Yawmi Yub`athūna َ015-036 He said, `My Lord, then grant me respite till the day when these (human beings) shall be raised (to spiritual life).´ قَالَ رَبِّ فَأَنْظِرْنِي إِلَى يَوْمِ يُبْعَثُونَ
Qāla Fa'innaka Mina Al-Munžarīna َ015-037 (Lord) said, `You are indeed of those already granted respite,
'Ilá Yawmi Al-Waqti Al-Ma`lūmi َ015-038 `Till the day of which the time is known (to Me).´ إِلَى يَوْمِ الْوَقْتِ الْمَعْلُومِ
Qāla Rabbi Bimā 'Aghwaytanī La'uzayyinanna Lahum Al-'Arđi Wa La'ughwiyannahum 'Ajma`īna َ015-039 He said, `My Lord! since You have condemned me as astray (and erring), I will surely make (evil of straying from the straight path) fair-seeming to them (as long as they stay) on the earth; I shall seduce them all,
'Illā `Ibādaka Minhumu Al-Mukhlaşīna َ015-040 `Except your (sincere) servants from among them; (Your) chosen and purified ones, (whom I shall not be able to seduce).´ إِلاَّ عِبَادَكَ مِنْهُمُ الْمُخْلَصِينَ
Qāla Hādhā Şirāţun `Alayya Mustaqīmun َ015-041 (Lord) said, `The path (that My sincere servants follow) leads straight to Me.
'Inna `Ibādī Laysa Laka `Alayhim Sulţānun 'Illā Mani Attaba`aka Mina Al-Ghāwīna َ015-042 `As for My servants, you have no authority over them. Different, however, is the case of such of the deviators who (choose to) follow you.
Wa 'Inna Jahannama Lamaw`iduhum 'Ajma`īna َ015-043 `And, of course, Gehenna is the promised place for such of them all.
Lahā Sab`atu 'Abwābin Likulli Bābin Minhum Juz'un Maqsūmun َ015-044 `It has seven gates. Each gate shall have an assigned portion of them (who have gone astray).
'Inna Al-Muttaqīna Fī Jannātin Wa `Uyūnin َ015-045 `Surely, those who guard against evil and are dutiful (to Me and mankind) shall live amidst gardens and fountains.
Adkhulūhā Bisalāmin 'Āminīna َ015-046 `(It will be said to them,) "Enter therein (to live) in peace (and be) secure".´ ادْخُلُوهَا بِسَلاَم ٍ آمِنِينَ
Wa Naza`nā Mā Fī Şudūrihim Min Ghillin 'Ikhwānāan `Alá Sururin Mutaqābilīna َ015-047 And We shall remove every vestige of rancour that may be in their hearts. They will be like brothers (seated cheerfully) on raised couches (of happiness), face to face.
Lā Yamassuhum Fīhā Naşabun Wa Mā Hum Minhā Bimukhrajīna َ015-048 They shall suffer no fatigue, nor shall they ever be ejected from there.
Nabbi' `Ibādī 'Annī 'Anā Al-Ghafūru Ar-Raĥīmu َ015-049 (O Prophet!) give My servants the important news that I - I alone - am most certainly the One Great Protector, the Ever Merciful.
Wa 'Anna `Adhābī Huwa Al-`Adhābu Al-'Alīmu َ015-050 And (also tell them) that My punishment is a very grievous one.
Wa Nabbi'hum `An Đayfi 'Ibrāhīma َ015-051 And (also) give them the important news about Abraham´s guests.
'Idh Dakhalū `Alayhi Faqālū Salāmāan Qāla 'Innā Minkum Wajilūna َ015-052 When they entered upon him and greeted him saying, `Peace (be upon you)´ he answered, `We feel afraid of you.´ إِذْ دَخَلُوا عَلَيْهِ فَقَالُوا سَلاَما ً قَالَ إِنَّا مِنْكُمْ وَجِلُونَ
Qālū Lā Tawjal 'Innā Nubashshiruka Bighulāmin `Alīmin َ015-053 They said, `Have no fear, we give you good tidings of (the birth of) a son endowed with knowledge.´ قَالُوا لاَ تَوْجَلْ إِنَّا نُبَشِّرُكَ بِغُلاَمٍ عَلِيم ٍ
Qāla 'Abashshartumūnī `Alá 'An Massaniya Al-Kibaru Fabima Tubashshirūna َ015-054 He (-Abraham) said, `Do you give me the good tidings inspite of the fact that old age has come upon me. So on what (basis) are you giving (me this) good tidings.´ قَالَ أَبَشَّرْتُمُونِي عَلَى أَنْ مَسَّنِيَ الْكِبَرُ فَبِمَ تُبَشِّرُونَ
Qālū Bashsharnāka Bil-Ĥaqqi Falā Takun Mina Al-Qāniţīna َ015-055 They said, `We give you good tidings on the basis of (the revelation of) truth; therefore do not be of the despairing ones (of the mercy of Allâh).´ قَالُوا بَشَّرْنَاكَ بِالْحَقِّ فَلاَ تَكُنْ مِنَ الْقَانِطِينَ
Qāla Wa Man Yaqnaţu Min Raĥmati Rabbihi 'Illā Ađ-Đāllūna َ015-056 He said, `And who despairs of the mercy of his Lord, but the erring ones?´ قَالَ وَمَنْ يَقْنَطُ مِنْ رَحْمَةِ رَبِّهِ~ِ إِلاَّ الضَّالُّونَ
Qāla Famā Khaţbukum 'Ayyuhā Al-Mursalūna َ015-057 He added, `O you messengers! what is your real business then?´ قَالَ فَمَا خَطْبُكُمْ أَيُّهَا الْمُرْسَلُونَ
Qālū 'Innā 'Ursilnā 'Ilá Qawmin Mujrimīna َ015-058 They said, `We have been sent to (destroy) a guilty people.
'Illā 'Āla Lūţin 'Innā Lamunajjūhum 'Ajma`īna َ015-059 `Excepting the followers of Lot (because they are not guilty). We shall invariably deliver them all.
'Illā Amra'atahu Qaddarnā  ۙ  'Innahā Lamina Al-Ghābirīna َ015-060 `Excepting his wife, (of whom God says,) "We have decided that she (will not accompany those ordained to be delivered but) shall be really of those staying behind".´ إِلاَّ امْرَأَتَه ُُ قَدَّرْنَا  ۙ  إِنَّهَا لَمِنَ الْغَابِرِينَ
Falammā Jā'a 'Āla Lūţin Al-Mursalūna َ015-061 When the messengers came to Lot (and his) followers,
Qāla 'Innakum Qawmun Munkarūna َ015-062 (Lot) said, `Surely, you are an unknown people, I apprehend evil from you (because of your coming).´ قَالَ إِنَّكُمْ قَوْم ٌ مُنْكَرُونَ
Qālū Bal Ji'nāka Bimā Kānū Fīhi Yamtarūna َ015-063 They said, `(You need no apprehensions.) But we have come to you with (the news of) that (punishment) about (the truth of) which they doubted.
Wa 'Ataynāka Bil-Ĥaqqi Wa 'Innā Laşādiqūna َ015-064 `And we have come to you with sure news and most certainly we are truthful;
Fa'asri Bi'ahlika Biqiţ`in Mina Al-Layli Wa Attabi` 'Adbārahum Wa Lā Yaltafit Minkum 'Aĥadun Wa Amđū Ĥaythu Tu'umarūna َ015-065 `So set forth (from here) with your people in the (latter) part of the night and yourself following in their wake. Let none of you look about (and lag behind) but proceed to where you are commanded.´ فَأَسْرِ بِأَهْلِكَ بِقِطْع ٍ مِنَ اللَّيْلِ وَاتَّبِعْ أَدْبَارَهُمْ وَلاَ يَلْتَفِتْ مِنْكُمْ أَحَد ٌ وَامْضُوا حَيْثُ تُؤْمَرُونَ
Wa Qađaynā 'Ilayhi Dhālika Al-'Amra 'Anna Dābira Hā'uulā' Maqţū`un Muşbiĥīna َ015-066 And We appraised him (-Lot) with certainty that the roots (and last remnants) of these people are to be cut off when they rise at dawn.
Wa Jā'a 'Ahlu Al-Madīnati Yastabshirūna َ015-067 And the residents of the city came rejoicing (to the house of Lot).
Qāla 'Inna Hā'uulā' Đayfī Falā Tafđaĥūni َ015-068 (Lot) said, `Surely, these are my guests, therefore do not put me to shame (by your disrespectful behaviour towards them).
Wa Attaqū Al-Laha Wa Lā Tukhzūni َ015-069 `And keep your duty to Allâh and disgrace me not.´ وَاتَّقُوا اللَّهَ وَلاَ تُخْزُونِ
Qālū 'Awalam Nanhaka `Ani Al-`Ālamīna َ015-070 They said, `Have we not told you not to entertain (all sorts of unknown) people?´ قَالُوا أَوَلَمْ نَنْهَكَ عَنِ الْعَالَمِينَ
Qāla Hā'uulā' Banātī 'In Kuntum Fā`ilīna َ015-071 He said, `Here are my daughters (as hostages to serve as a guarantee that the strangers will not make a mischief), if you must do something (to make any investigation against me).´ قَالَ هَاؤُلاَء بَنَاتِي إِنْ كُنْتُمْ فَاعِلِينَ
La`amruka 'Innahum Lafī Sakratihim Ya`mahūna َ015-072 (Prophet!) by your (holy) life and by your true faith these (your opponents) are (also) wandering distractedly in a fit of frenzy.
Fa'akhadhat/humu Aş-Şayĥatu Mushriqīna َ015-073 Then a dreadful punishment overtook these (opponents of Lot) at sunrise.
Faja`alnā `Āliyahā Sāfilahā Wa 'Amţarnā `Alayhim Ĥijāratan Min Sijjīlin َ015-074 We turned it (- the city) upside down, and rained upon the people petrified hard stones of clay (constantly).
'Inna Fī Dhālika La'āyātin Lilmutawassimīna َ015-075 Surely, in this (narrative) there are many signs for such as can interpret (signs).
Wa 'Innahā Labisabīlin Muqīmin َ015-076 And (the ruins of) these (townships) lie on a road that still exists (right on the highway between Arabia and Syria).
'Inna Fī Dhālika La'āyatan Lilmu'uminīna َ015-077 Behold! in this (narration) is indeed a sign for the believers.
Wa 'In Kāna 'Aşĥābu Al-'Aykati Lažālimīna َ015-078 Certainly, the dwellers of the thicket (of Midian) were (also) a wrong doing people.
ntaqamnā Minhum Wa 'Innahumā Labi'imāmin Mubīnin َ015-079 Therefore We inflicted punishment on them; and (the ruins of) both their cities (-the city of Sodomites and the city of Aikah) lie indeed on the open highway (traversed by the caravans from Hijâz to Syria).
Wa Laqad Kadhdhaba 'Aşĥābu Al-Ĥijri Al-Mursalīna َ015-080 And the dwellers of the Hijr (- a township of Thamûd lying between Tabûk and Madînah, also) cried lies to the Messengers.
Wa 'Ātaynāhum 'Āyātinā Fakānū `Anhā Mu`rīna َ015-081 And We gave them Our commandments but they were averse to them.
Wa Kānū Yanĥitūna Mina Al-Jibāli Buyūtāan 'Āminīna َ015-082 And they (in search of a life of peace and security,) used to hew some parts of the mountains into houses feeling secure (therein).
Fa'akhadhat/humu Aş-Şayĥatu Muşbiĥīna َ015-083 But the dreadful punishment overtook them in the morning.
Famā 'Aghná `Anhum Mā Kānū Yaksibūna َ015-084 So that all that they had accomplished was of no avail to them.
Wa Mā Khalaq As-Samāwāti Wa Al-'Arđa Wa Mā Baynahumā 'Illā Bil-Ĥaqqi  ۗ  Wa 'Inna As-Sā`ata La'ātiyatun  ۖ  Fāşfaĥi Aş-Şafĥa Al-Jamīla َ015-085 And We have not created the heavens and the earth and all that is between the two but to suit the requirements of truth and wisdom. And the (threatened) Hour (of punishment) is sure to come. So turn away from them with goodly grace.
'Inna Rabbaka Huwa Al-Khallāqu Al-`Alīmu َ015-086 Surely, it is your Lord Who is the Great Creator, the Possessor of perfect knowledge.
Wa Laqad 'Ātaynāka Sab`āan Mina Al-Mathānī Wa Al-Qur'āna Al-`Ažīma َ015-087 And infact We have given you the seven oft-recited (verses of Sûrah Al-Fâtihah) and the Grand Qur´ân.
Lā Tamuddanna `Aynayka 'Ilá Mā Matta`nā Bihi 'Azwājāan Minhum Wa Lā Taĥzan `Alayhim Wa Akhfiđ Janāĥaka Lilmu'uminīna َ015-088 Extend not your eyes desirously towards the fleeting enjoyments We have bestowed on some classes (of people) among them, nor grieve over (this destruction of) them and be kind and gentle to the believers,
Wa Qul 'Innī 'Anā An-Nadhīru Al-Mubīnu َ015-089 And proclaim, `I am, indeed, the plain Warner (promised by God).´ وَقُلْ إِنِّي أَنَا النَّذِيرُ الْمُبِينُ
Kamā 'Anzalnā `Alá Al-Muqtasimīna َ015-090 Since We (have decided to) send down (this revelation full of warnings) to those who have formed themselves into factions by taking oaths (against you).
Al-Ladhīna Ja`alū Al-Qur'āna `Iđīna َ015-091 And who have pronounced the Qur´ân to be a pack of lies.
Fawarabbika Lanas'alannahum 'Ajma`īna َ015-092 So by your Lord, We will surely question them all,
`Ammā Kānū Ya`malūna َ015-093 About their (mis)deeds.
Fāşda` Bimā Tu'umaru Wa 'A`riđ `Ani Al-Mushrikīna َ015-094 Therefore declare openly what you are commanded (to deliver) and turn away from the polytheists.
'Innā Kafaynāka Al-Mustahzi'īna َ015-095 We do suffice you (to punish) those who treat (you) scornfully.
Al-Ladhīna Yaj`alūna Ma`a Al-Lahi 'Ilahāan 'Ākhara  ۚ  Fasawfa Ya`lamūna َ015-096 Who set up an other god beside Allâh; but they shall soon come to know (the consequences).
Wa Laqad Na`lamu 'Annaka Yađīqu Şadruka Bimā Yaqūlūna َ015-097 And We know, indeed, that your mind is distressed because of (polytheistic things) that they say,
Fasabbiĥ Biĥamdi Rabbika Wa Kun Mina As-Sājidīna َ015-098 So (the remedy of this distress is that you) glorify your Lord with all His true praise and be of those who prostrate themselves (before Him).
Wa A`bud Rabbaka Ĥattá Ya'tiyaka Al-Yaqīnu َ015-099 And go on worshipping your Lord until there comes to you that which is certain (and you breathe your last).
