Wa Ash-Shamsi Wa Đuĥāhā | 091.001 By the Sun and his (glorious) splendour; |
Wa Al-Qamari 'Idhā Talāhā | 091.002 By the Moon as she follows him; |
Wa An-Nahāri 'Idhā Jallāhā | 091.003 By the Day as it shows up (the Sun's) glory; |
Wa Al-Layli 'Idhā Yaghshāhā | 091.004 By the Night as it conceals it; |
Wa As-Samā'i Wa Mā Banāhā | 091.005 By the Firmament and its (wonderful) structure; |
Wa Al-'Arđi Wa Mā Ţaĥāhā | 091.006 By the Earth and its (wide) expanse: |
Wa Nafsin Wa Mā Sawwāhā | 091.007 By the Soul, and the proportion and order given to it; |
Fa'alhamahā Fujūrahā Wa Taqwāhā | 091.008 And its enlightenment as to its wrong and its right;- |
Qad 'Aflaĥa Man Zakkāhā | 091.009 Truly he succeeds that purifies it, |
Wa Qad Khāba Man Dassāhā | 091.010 And he fails that corrupts it! |
Kadhdhabat Thamūdu Biţaghwāhā | 091.011 The Thamud (people) rejected (their prophet) through their inordinate wrong-doing, |
'Idhi Anba`atha 'Ashqāhā | 091.012 Behold, the most wicked man among them was deputed (for impiety). |
Faqāla Lahum Rasūlu Al-Lahi Nāqata Al-Lahi Wa Suqyāhā | 091.013 But the Apostle of God said to them: "It is a She-camel of God! And (bar her not from) having her drink!" |
Fakadhdhabūhu Fa`aqarūhā Fadamdama `Alayhim Rabbuhum Bidhanbihim Fasawwāhā | 091.014 Then they rejected him (as a false prophet), and they hamstrung her. So their Lord, on account of their crime, obliterated their traces and made them equal (in destruction, high and low)! |
Wa Lā Yakhāfu `Uqbāhā | 091.015 And for Him is no fear of its consequences. |
