Mā Al-Ĥāqqahu | 069.002 What is the Sure Reality? |
Wa Mā 'Adrāka Mā Al-Ĥāqqahu | 069.003 And what will make thee realise what the Sure Reality is? |
Kadhdhabat Thamūdu Wa `Ādun Bil-Qāri`ahi | 069.004 The Thamud and the 'Ad People (branded) as false the Stunning Calamity! |
Fa'ammā Thamūdu Fa'uhlikū Biţ-Ţāghiyahi | 069.005 But the Thamud,- they were destroyed by a terrible Storm of thunder and lightning! |
Wa 'Ammā `Ādun Fa'uhlikū Birīĥin Şarşarin `Ātiyahin | 069.006 And the 'Ad, they were destroyed by a furious Wind, exceedingly violent; |
Sakhkharahā `Alayhim Sab`a Layālin Wa Thamāniyata 'Ayyāmin Ĥusūmāan Fatará Al-Qawma Fīhā Şar`á Ka'annahum 'A`jāzu Nakhlin Khāwiyahin | 069.007 He made it rage against them seven nights and eight days in succession: so that thou couldst see the (whole) people lying prostrate in its (path), as they had been roots of hollow palm-trees tumbled down! |
Fahal Tará Lahum Min Bāqiyahin | 069.008 Then seest thou any of them left surviving? |
Wa Jā'a Fir`awnu Wa Man Qablahu Wa Al-Mu'utafikātu Bil-Khāţi'ahi | 069.009 And Pharaoh, and those before him, and the Cities Overthrown, committed habitual Sin. |
Fa`aşaw Rasūla Rabbihim Fa'akhadhahum 'Akhdhatan Rābiyahan | 069.010 And disobeyed (each) the apostle of their Lord; so He punished them with an abundant Penalty. |
'Innā Lammā Ţaghá Al-Mā'u Ĥamalnākum Fī Al-Jāriyahi | 069.011 We, when the water (of Noah's Flood) overflowed beyond its limits, carried you (mankind), in the floating (Ark), |
Linaj`alahā Lakum Tadhkiratan Wa Ta`iyahā 'Udhunun Wā`iyahun | 069.012 That We might make it a Message unto you, and that ears (that should hear the tale and) retain its memory should bear its (lessons) in remembrance. |
Fa'idhā Nufikha Fī Aş-Şūri Nafkhatun Wāĥidahun | 069.013 Then, when one blast is sounded on the Trumpet, |
Wa Ĥumilati Al-'Arđu Wa Al-Jibālu Fadukkatā Dakkatan Wāĥidahan | 069.014 And the earth is moved, and its mountains, and they are crushed to powder at one stroke,- |
Fayawma'idhin Waqa`ati Al-Wāqi`ahu | 069.015 On that Day shall the (Great) Event come to pass. |
Wa Anshaqqati As-Samā'u Fahiya Yawma'idhin Wa Ahiyahun | 069.016 And the sky will be rent asunder, for it will that Day be flimsy, |
Wa Al-Malaku `Alá 'Arjā'ihā Wa Yaĥmilu `Arsha Rabbika Fawqahum Yawma'idhin Thamāniyahun | 069.017 And the angels will be on its sides, and eight will, that Day, bear the Throne of thy Lord above them. |
Yawma'idhin Tu`rađūna Lā Takhfá Minkum Khāfiyahun | 069.018 That Day shall ye be brought to Judgment: not an act of yours that ye hide will be hidden. |
Fa'ammā Man 'Ūtiya Kitābahu Biyamīnihi Fayaqūlu Hā'uum Aqra'ū Kitābī | 069.019 Then he that will be given his Record in his right hand will say: "Ah here! Read ye my Record! |
'Innī Žanantu 'Annī Mulāqin Ĥisābiyah | 069.020 "I did really understand that my Account would (One Day) reach me!" |
Fahuwa Fī `Īshatin Rāđiyahin | 069.021 And he will be in a life of Bliss, |
Fī Jannatin `Āliyahin | 069.022 In a Garden on high, |
Quţūfuhā Dāniyahun | 069.023 The Fruits whereof (will hang in bunches) low and near. |
Kulū Wa Ashrabū Hanī'āan Bimā 'Aslaftum Fī Al-'Ayyāmi Al-Khāliyahi | 069.024 "Eat ye and drink ye, with full satisfaction; because of the (good) that ye sent before you, in the days that are gone!" |
Wa 'Ammā Man 'Ūtiya Kitābahu Bishimālihi Fayaqūlu Yā Laytanī Lam 'Ūta Kitābīh | 069.025 And he that will be given his Record in his left hand, will say: "Ah! Would that my Record had not been given to me! |
Wa Lam 'Adri Mā Ĥisābīh | 069.026 "And that I had never realised how my account (stood)! |
Yā Laytahā Kānati Al-Qāđiyaha | 069.027 "Ah! Would that (Death) had made an end of me! |
Mā 'Aghná `Annī Mālīh | 069.028 "Of no profit to me has been my wealth! |
Halaka `Annī Sulţānīh | 069.029 "My power has perished from me!"... |
Khudhūhu Faghullūhu | 069.030 (The stern command will say): "Seize ye him, and bind ye him, |
Thumma Al-Jaĥīma Şallūhu | 069.031 "And burn ye him in the Blazing Fire. |
Thumma Fī Silsilatin Dhar`uhā Sab`ūna Dhirā`āan Fāslukūhu | 069.032 "Further, make him march in a chain, whereof the length is seventy cubits! |
'Innahu Kāna Lā Yu'uminu Bil-Lahi Al-`Ažīmi | 069.033 "This was he that would not believe in God Most High. |
Wa Lā Yaĥuđđu `Alá Ţa`āmi Al-Miskīni | 069.034 "And would not encourage the feeding of the indigent! |
Falaysa Lahu Al-Yawma Hāhunā Ĥamīmun | 069.035 "So no friend hath he here this Day. |
Wa Lā Ţa`āmun 'Illā Min Ghislīnin | 069.036 "Nor hath he any food except the corruption from the washing of wounds, |
Lā Ya'kuluhu 'Illā Al-Khāţi'ūna | 069.037 "Which none do eat but those in sin." |
Falā 'Uqsimu Bimā Tubşirūna | 069.038 So I do call to witness what ye see, |
Wa Mā Lā Tubşirūna | 069.039 And what ye see not, |
'Innahu Laqawlu Rasūlin Karīmin | 069.040 That this is verily the word of an honoured apostle; |
Wa Mā Huwa Biqawli Shā`irin Qalīlāan Mā Tu'uminūna | 069.041 It is not the word of a poet: little it is ye believe! |
Wa Lā Biqawli Kāhinin Qalīlāan Mā Tadhakkarūna | 069.042 Nor is it the word of a soothsayer: little admonition it is ye receive. |
Tanzīlun Min Rabbi Al-`Ālamīna | 069.043 (This is) a Message sent down from the Lord of the Worlds. |
Wa Law Taqawwala `Alaynā Ba`đa Al-'Aqāwīli | 069.044 And if the apostle were to invent any sayings in Our name, |
La'akhadhnā Minhu Bil-Yamīni | 069.045 We should certainly seize him by his right hand, |
Thumma Laqaţa`nā Minhu Al-Watīna | 069.046 And We should certainly then cut off the artery of his heart: |
Famā Minkum Min 'Aĥadin `Anhu Ĥājizīna | 069.047 Nor could any of you withhold him (from Our wrath). |
Wa 'Innahu Latadhkiratun Lilmuttaqīna | 069.048 But verily this is a Message for the God-fearing. |
Wa 'Innā Lana`lamu 'Anna Minkum Mukadhdhibīna | 069.049 And We certainly know that there are amongst you those that reject (it). |
Wa 'Innahu Laĥasratun `Alá Al-Kāfirīna | 069.050 But truly (Revelation) is a cause of sorrow for the Unbelievers. |
Wa 'Innahu Laĥaqqu Al-Yaqīni | 069.051 But verily it is Truth of assured certainty. |
Fasabbiĥ Biāsmi Rabbika Al-`Ažīmi | 069.052 So glorify the name of thy Lord Most High.THE ASCENDING STAIRWAYS, STAIRCASES UPWARD, SCKEPTIC, |
