| Tabbat Yadā 'Abī Lahabin Wa Tabba | Perish the two hands of Abû Lahab (an uncle of the Prophet), and perish he! (Al-Masad 111:1) |
| Mā 'Aghná `Anhu Māluhu Wa Mā Kasaba | His wealth and his children (etc.) will not benefit him! (Al-Masad 111:2) |
| Sayaşlá Nārāan Dhāta Lahabin | He will be burnt in a Fire of blazing flames! (Al-Masad 111:3) |
| Wa Amra'atuhu Ĥammālata Al-Ĥaţabi | And his wife too, who carries wood (thorns of Sadan which she used to put on the way of the Prophet (Peace be upon him) , or use to slander him). (Al-Masad 111:4) |
| Fī Jīdihā Ĥablun Min Masadin | In her neck is a twisted rope of Masad (palm fibre). (Al-Masad 111:5) |
