Wa Al-Layli 'Idhā Yaghshá | By the night as it envelops; (Al-Lail 92:1) |
Wa An-Nahāri 'Idhā Tajallá | And by the day as it appears in brightness; (Al-Lail 92:2) |
Wa Mā Khalaqa Adh-Dhakara Wa Al-'Unthá | And by Him Who created male and female; (Al-Lail 92:3) |
'Inna Sa`yakum Lashattá | Certainly, your efforts and deeds are diverse (different in aims and purposes); (Al-Lail 92:4) |
Fa'ammā Man 'A`ţá Wa Attaqá | As for him who gives (in charity) and keeps his duty to Allāh and fears Him, (Al-Lail 92:5) |
Wa Şaddaqa Bil-Ĥusná | And believes in Al-Husna. (Al-Lail 92:6) |
Fasanuyassiruhu Lilyusrá | We will make smooth for him the path of ease (goodness). (Al-Lail 92:7) |
Wa 'Ammā Man Bakhila Wa Astaghná | But he who is greedy miser and thinks himself self-sufficient. (Al-Lail 92:8) |
Wa Kadhdhaba Bil-Ĥusná | And gives the lie to Al-Husna (see Verse No: 6 footnote); (Al-Lail 92:9) |
Fasanuyassiruhu Lil`usrá | We will make smooth for him the path for evil; (Al-Lail 92:10) |
Wa Mā Yughnī `Anhu Māluhu 'Idhā Taraddá | And what will his wealth benefit him when he goes down (in destruction). (Al-Lail 92:11) |
'Inna `Alaynā Lalhudá | Truly! Ours it is (to give) guidance, (Al-Lail 92:12) |
Wa 'Inna Lanā Lal'ākhirata Wa Al-'Ūlá | And truly, unto Us (belong) the last (Hereafter) and the first (this world). (Al-Lail 92:13) |
Fa'andhartukum Nārāan Talažžá | Therefore I have warned you of a Fire blazing fiercely (Hell); (Al-Lail 92:14) |
Lā Yaşlāhā 'Illā Al-'Ashqá | None shall enter it save the most wretched, (Al-Lail 92:15) |
Al-Ladhī Kadhdhaba Wa Tawallá | Who denies and turns away. (Al-Lail 92:16) |
Wa Sayujannabuhā Al-'Atqá | And Al-Muttaqûn (the pious and righteous - see V.2:2) will be far removed from it (Hell). (Al-Lail 92:17) |
Al-Ladhī Yu'utī Mālahu Yatazakká | He who spends his wealth for increase in self-purification, (Al-Lail 92:18) |
Wa Mā Li'ĥadin `Indahu Min Ni`matin Tujzá | And have in his mind no favour from anyone for which a reward is expected in return, (Al-Lail 92:19) |
'Illā Abtighā'a Wajhi Rabbihi Al-'A`lá | Except only the desire to seek the Countenance of his Lord, the Most High; (Al-Lail 92:20) |
Wa Lasawfa Yarđá | He surely will be pleased (when he will enter Paradise). (Al-Lail 92:21) |
