Wa As-Samā'i Wa Aţ-Ţāriqi | By the heaven, and At-Tāriq (the night-comer, i.e. the bright star); (At-Tariq 86:1) |
Wa Mā 'Adrāka Mā Aţ-Ţāriqu | And what will make you to know what At-Tāriq (night-comer) is? (At-Tariq 86:2) |
An-Najmu Ath-Thāqibu | (It is) the star of piercing brightness; (At-Tariq 86:3) |
'In Kullu Nafsin Lammā `Alayhā Ĥāfižun | There is no human being but has a protector over him (or her) (i.e. angels incharge of each human being guarding him, writing his good and bad deeds, etc.). (At-Tariq 86:4) |
Falyanžuri Al-'Insānu Mimma Khuliqa | So let man see from what he is created! (At-Tariq 86:5) |
Khuliqa Min Mā'in Dāfiqin | He is created from a water gushing forth (At-Tariq 86:6) |
Yakhruju Min Bayni Aş-Şulbi Wa At-Tarā'ibi | Proceeding from between the back-bone and the ribs, (At-Tariq 86:7) |
'Innahu `Alá Raj`ihi Laqādirun | Verily, (Allāh) is Able to bring him back (to life)! (At-Tariq 86:8) |
Yawma Tublá As-Sarā'iru | The Day when all the secrets (deeds, prayers, fasting, etc.) will be examined (as to their truth). (At-Tariq 86:9) |
Famā Lahu Min Qūwatin Wa Lā Nāşirin | Then will (man) have no power, nor any helper. (At-Tariq 86:10) |
Wa As-Samā'i Dhāti Ar-Raj`i | By the sky (having rain clouds) which gives rain, again and again. (At-Tariq 86:11) |
Wa Al-'Arđi Dhāti Aş-Şad`i | And the earth which splits (with the growth of trees and plants), (At-Tariq 86:12) |
'Innahu Laqawlun Faşlun | Verily! This (the Qur'ān) is the Word that separates (the truth from falsehood, and commands strict legal laws for mankind to cut the roots of evil). (At-Tariq 86:13) |
Wa Mā Huwa Bil-Hazli | And it is not a thing for amusement. (At-Tariq 86:14) |
'Innahum Yakīdūna Kaydāan | Verily, they are but plotting a plot (against you O Muhammad (Peace be upon him)). (At-Tariq 86:15) |
Wa 'Akīdu Kaydāan | And I (too) am planning a plan. (At-Tariq 86:16) |
Famahhili Al-Kāfirīna 'Amhilhum Ruwaydāan | So give a respite to the disbelievers. Deal you gently with them for a while. (At-Tariq 86:17) |
