'Idhā Ash-Shamsu Kūwirat | When the sun Kuwwirat (wound round and lost its light and is overthrown). (At-Takwir 81:1) |
Wa 'Idhā An-Nujūmu Ankadarat | And when the stars shall fall; (At-Takwir 81:2) |
Wa 'Idhā Al-Jibālu Suyyirat | And when the mountains shall made to pass away; (At-Takwir 81:3) |
Wa 'Idhā Al-`Ishāru `Uţţilat | And when the pregnant she-camels shall be neglected; (At-Takwir 81:4) |
Wa 'Idhā Al-Wuĥūshu Ĥushirat | And when the wild beasts shall be gathered together; (At-Takwir 81:5) |
Wa 'Idhā Al-Biĥāru Sujjirat | And when the seas shall become as blazing Fire or shall overflow; (At-Takwir 81:6) |
Wa 'Idhā An-Nufūsu Zūwijat | And when the souls shall be joined with their bodies; (At-Takwir 81:7) |
Wa 'Idhā Al-Maw'ūdatu Su'ilat | And when the female (infant) buried alive (as the pagan Arabs used to do) shall be questioned. (At-Takwir 81:8) |
Bi'ayyi Dhanbin Qutilat | For what sin she was killed? (At-Takwir 81:9) |
Wa 'Idhā Aş-Şuĥufu Nushirat | And when the written pages of deeds (good and bad) of every person shall be laid open; (At-Takwir 81:10) |
Wa 'Idhā As-Samā'u Kushiţat | And when the heaven shall be stripped off and taken away from its place; (At-Takwir 81:11) |
Wa 'Idhā Al-Jaĥīmu Su``irat | And when Hell-fire shall be kindled to fierce ablaze (At-Takwir 81:12) |
Wa 'Idhā Al-Jannatu 'Uzlifat | And when Paradise shall be brought near, (At-Takwir 81:13) |
`Alimat Nafsun Mā 'Aĥđarat | (Then) every person will know what he has brought (of good and evil). (At-Takwir 81:14) |
Falā 'Uqsimu Bil-Khunnasi | So verily, I swear by the planets that recede (i.e. disappear during the day and appear during the night). (At-Takwir 81:15) |
Al-Jawāri Al-Kunnasi | And by the planets that move swiftly and hide themselves, (At-Takwir 81:16) |
Wa Al-Layli 'Idhā `As`asa | And by the night as it departs; (At-Takwir 81:17) |
Wa Aş-Şubĥi 'Idhā Tanaffasa | And by the dawn as it brightens; (At-Takwir 81:18) |
'Innahu Laqawlu Rasūlin Karīmin | Verily, this is the Word (this Qur'ān brought by) a most honourable messenger [Jibrael (Gabriel), from Allāh to the Prophet Muhammad (Peace be upon him)]. (At-Takwir 81:19) |
Dhī Qūwatin `Inda Dhī Al-`Arshi Makīnin | Owner of power, and high rank with (Allāh) the Lord of the Throne, (At-Takwir 81:20) |
Muţā`in Thamma 'Amīnin | Obeyed (by the angels), trustworthy there (in the heavens). (At-Takwir 81:21) |
Wa Mā Şāĥibukum Bimajnūnin | And (O people) your companion (Muhammad (Peace be upon him)) is not a madman; (At-Takwir 81:22) |
Wa Laqad Ra'āhu Bil-'Ufuqi Al-Mubīni | And indeed he (Muhammad (Peace be upon him)) saw him [Jibrael (Gabriel)] in the clear horizon (towards the east). (At-Takwir 81:23) |
Wa Mā Huwa `Alá Al-Ghaybi Biđanīnin | And he (Muhammad (Peace be upon him)) withholds not a knowledge of the unseen. (At-Takwir 81:24) |
Wa Mā Huwa Biqawli Shayţānin Rajīmin | And it (the Qur'ān) is not the word of the outcast Shaitān (Satan). (At-Takwir 81:25) |
Fa'ayna Tadh/habūna | Then where are you going? (At-Takwir 81:26) |
'In Huwa 'Illā Dhikrun Lil`ālamīna | Verily, this (the Qur'ān) is no less than a Reminder to (all) the 'Alamīn (mankind and jinns). (At-Takwir 81:27) |
Liman Shā'a Minkum 'An Yastaqīma | To whomsoever among you who wills to walk straight, (At-Takwir 81:28) |
Wa Mā Tashā'ūna 'Illā 'An Yashā'a Al-Lahu Rabbu Al-`Ālamīna | And you will not, unless (it be) that Allāh wills, the Lord of the 'Alamīn (mankind, jinns and all that exists). (At-Takwir 81:29) |
