- When a
(courteous) greeting is offered to you, meet it
with a greeting still more courteous, or (at least) of
equal courtesy 004-086
- When you
enter houses, greet each other with salaam
(i.e. a prayer for the safety, security and well-being
of each other), invoking Allah's blessings and countless
pleasures 024-061
- Enter not
houses other than your own, until you have asked
permission and greeted with salaam (i.e. a
prayer for the safety, security and well-being of) those
in them 024-027
- When the believers come to you,
greet them by saying “May peace and Allah's
Rahmah be upon you" 006-054
- When you
come across people who personify the characteristics of
Jahlia (pre-Islamic era) such as ignorance,
bigotry, enmity, fierceness, wickedness, excitability,
show them true Islamic qualities (of peace, open
heartedness, leniency and generosity) 025-063
- Always keep
in mind that your time and energy is not to be wasted in
useless and frivolous matters. If per chance you
pass by a place where such a conversation is going on,
just turn away quietly and gracefully ( 025-072), telling those
people, "Unto us shall be accounted our deeds and unto
you your deeds. We cannot take part in what you are
doing. However our hope is that you should remain in
peace and well being; but after seeing and knowing
what you all are doing, we cannot join a group of
ignorant people" 028-055
- If anyone sends you an offer of
peace do not say to him “you are not sincere in your
offer” 004-094
