وَلَوْ‌ ‌أَنّ‍‍َ‍ا‌ كَتَ‍‍ب‍‍ْ‍نَا‌ عَلَيْهِمْ ‌أَنِ ‌ا‍ق‍‍‍‍ْ‍تُلُ‍‍و‌ا‌ ‌أَ‌ن‍‍فُسَكُمْ ‌أَ‌وْ‌ ‌ا‍خْ‍‍رُجُو‌ا‌ مِ‍‌‍نْ ‌دِيَا‌رِكُ‍‍مْ مَا‌ فَعَل‍‍ُ‍وهُ‍‍~‍ُ ‌إِلاَّ‌ قَ‍‍ل‍‍ِ‍ي‍‍لٌ‌ مِنْهُمْ ۖ ‌وَلَوْ‌ ‌أَنّ‍‍َ‍هُمْ فَعَلُو‌ا‌ مَا‌ يُوعَ‍‍ظ‍‍‍‍ُ‍ونَ بِه ِ‍ِ‍‌ لَك‍‍َ‍انَ خَ‍‍يْر‌ا‌‌ ً‌ لَهُمْ ‌وَ‌أَشَدَّ‌ تَثْبِيتا‌‌ ً

004-066  Wa Law 'Annā Katabnā `Alayhim 'Ani Aqtulū 'Anfusakum 'Aw Akhrujū Min Diyārikum Mā Fa`alūhu 'Illā Qalīlun Minhum ۖ Wa Law 'Annahum Fa`alū Mā Yū`ažūna Bihi Lakāna Khayan Lahum Wa 'Ashadda Tathbītāan

 004.066 If We had ordered them to sacrifice their lives or to leave their homes, very few of them would have done it: But if they had done what they were (actually) told, it would have been best for them, and would have gone farthest to strengthen their (faith);
