لِلفُقَرَاءِ الَّذِينَ أُحْصِرُوا فِي سَبِيلِ اللَّهِ لاَ يَسْتَطِيعُونَ ضَرْبا ً فِي الأَرْضِ يَحْسَبُهُمُ الْجَاهِلُ أَغْنِيَاءَ مِنَ التَّعَفُّفِ تَعْرِفُهُمْ بِسِيمَاهُمْ لاَ يَسْأَلُونَ النَّاسَ إِلْحَافا ً ۗ وَمَا تُنفِقُوا مِنْ خَيْرٍ فَإِنَّ اللَّهَ بِه ِِ عَلِيمٌ |
002-273 Lilfuqarā'i Al-Ladhīna 'Uĥşirū Fī Sabīli Al-Lahi Lā Yastaţī`ūna Đarbāan Fī Al-'Arđi Yaĥsabuhumu Al-Jāhilu 'Aghniyā'a Mina At-Ta`affufi Ta`rifuhum Bisīmāhum Lā Yas'alūna An-Nāsa 'Ilĥāfāan ۗ Wa Mā Tunfiqū Min Khayrin Fa'inna Al-Laha Bihi `Alīmun |

002.273 (Charity is) for those in need, who, in God's cause are restricted (from travel), and cannot move about in the land, seeking (For trade or work): the ignorant man thinks, because of their modesty, that they are free from want. Thou shalt know them by their (Unfailing) mark: They beg not importunately from all the sundry. And whatever of good ye give, be assured God knoweth it well. |
