(179)

‘When one of you sneezes he should say:

 ‘All praise if for Allah.’

…and his brother or companion should say to him:

 ‘May Allah have mercy upon you.’

 

 ‘May Allah guide you and rectify your condition.’

(179)When one of you sneezes he should say: Al-Ĥamdu Llhi.

…and his brother or companion should say to him: Yarĥamuka Al-Lhu.

…and he (i.e. the one who sneezed) replies back to him:

Yahdīkumu Allāhu Wa Yuşliĥu Bālakum.
 

(179) إِذَا عَطَسَ أَحَدَكُمْ فَلْيَقُلْ: الحَمْدُ للهِ.، وَلْيَقُلْ لَهُ أَخُوْهُ أَوْ صَاحِبُه:ُ يَرْحَمُكَ اللَّهُ. يَهْدِيْكُمُ اللَّهُ وَيُصْلِحُ بَالَكُمْ.
     

73. Supplication said to the newlywed

 ‘May Allah bless for you (your spouse) and bless you, and may He unite both of you in goodness.’

(180) Bāraka Al-Lhu Laka, Wa Bāraka `Alayka, Wa Jama`a Baynakumā Fī Khayrin.
 
(180) بَارَكَ اللَّه ُُ لَكَ، وَبَارَكَ عَلَيْكَ، وَجَمَعَ بَيْنَكُمَا فِي خَيْر.ٍ
     

74. The groom’s supplication on the wedding night or when buying an animal

when you marry a woman or buy a maidservant, you should say:

 ‘O Allah, I ask You for the goodness within her and the goodness that you have made her inclined towards, and I take refuge with You from the evil within her and the evil that you have made her inclined towards.’

…and if you buy a camel, then you should take hold of it’s hump and say likewise.’

when you marry a woman or buy a maidservant, you should say:

Al-Lahumma 'Innī 'As'aluka Khayrahā, Wa Khayra Mā Jabaltahā `Alayhi, Wa 'A`ūdhu Bika Min Sharrihā, Wa Sharri Mā Jabaltahā `Alayhi.
 

(181) إذا تزوج أحدكم امرأة،أو إذا اشترى خادماً فليقل: اللَّهمَّ إِنِّي أَسْأَلُكَ خَيْرَهَا، وَخَيْرَ مَا جَبَلْتَهَا عَلَيْهِ، وَأَعُوْذُ بِكَ مِنْ شَرِّهَا، وَشَرِّ مَا جَبَلْتَهَا عَلَيْهِ.
 
     

75.  Supplication before sexual intercourse

 ‘In the name of Allah. O Allah, keep the devil away from us and keep the devil away from what you have blessed us with.’

(182) Bismi Allāhi, Al-Lahumma Jannib Ash-Shayţāna, Wa Jannibi Ash-Shayţāna Mā Razaqtanā.
 
(182) بِسْمِ اللَّهِ اللَّهمَّ جَنِّبْنَا الشَّيْطَانَ، وَجَنِّبِ الشَّيْطَانَ مَا رَزَقْتَنَا.
     

76. When angry

 ‘I take refuge with Allah from the accursed devil.’

(183) 'A`ūdhu Billāhi Mina Ash-Shayţāni Ar-Rajīmi.
 
(183) أَعُوْذُ بِاللَّهِ مِنَ الشَّيْطَانِ الرَّجِيْمِ.
     

77. Supplication said upon seeing someone in trial or tribulation

 

  .77دعاء من رأى مبتلى

This supplication is to be said to one’s self, not directly to the one in trial or tribulation.

 ‘All praise is for Allah Who saved me from that which He tested you with and Who most certainly favoured me over much of His creation.’

(184) Al-Ĥamdu Lillāhi Al-Ladhī `Āfānī Mimmā Abtalāka Bihi, Wa Fađđalanī `Alá Kathyrin Mimman Khalaqa Tafđīlāan.
 
(184) الحَمْدُ للهِ الَّذِي عَافَانِي مِمَّا ابْتَلاكَ بِهِ، وَفَضَّلَنِي عَلَى كَثيْر ٍ مِمَّنْ خَلَقَ تَفْضِيْلا.ً
