‘When one of you sneezes he should
say:
‘All praise if for Allah.’
…and his brother or companion should
say to him:
‘May Allah have mercy upon you.’
‘May Allah guide you and rectify
your condition.’ |
(179)When
one of you sneezes he should say: Al-Ĥamdu Llhi.
…and his brother or companion should
say to him: Yarĥamuka
Al-Lhu.
…and he (i.e. the one who sneezed)
replies back to him:
Yahdīkumu Allāhu
Wa Yuşliĥu Bālakum.

إِذَا عَطَسَ أَحَدَكُمْ فَلْيَقُلْ: الحَمْدُ للهِ.،
وَلْيَقُلْ لَهُ أَخُوْهُ أَوْ صَاحِبُه:ُ يَرْحَمُكَ اللَّهُ.
يَهْدِيْكُمُ اللَّهُ
وَيُصْلِحُ بَالَكُمْ. |

Laka, Wa Bāraka `Alayka, Wa Jama`a Baynakumā Fī Khayrin.

(180) بَارَكَ اللَّه
ُُ لَكَ، وَبَارَكَ عَلَيْكَ، وَجَمَعَ بَيْنَكُمَا فِي خَيْر.ٍ

when you marry a woman or buy a
maidservant, you should say:
‘O Allah, I ask You for the
goodness within her and the goodness that you have made her inclined
towards, and I take refuge with You from the evil within her and the
evil that you have made her inclined towards.’
…and if you buy a camel, then you
should take hold of it’s hump and say likewise.’

Al-Lahumma 'Innī
'As'aluka Khayrahā, Wa Khayra Mā Jabaltahā `Alayhi, Wa 'A`ūdhu
Bika Min Sharrihā,

إذا تزوج أحدكم امرأة،أو إذا اشترى خادماً فليقل: اللَّهمَّ
إِنِّي
أَسْأَلُكَ خَيْرَهَا، وَخَيْرَ مَا جَبَلْتَهَا عَلَيْهِ،
وَأَعُوْذُ بِكَ مِنْ
شَرِّهَا، وَشَرِّ مَا جَبَلْتَهَا عَلَيْهِ.

‘All praise is for Allah Who
saved me from that which He tested you with and Who most certainly
favoured me over much of His creation.’
