83. Supplication said to one who pronounces his love for you for Allah’s sake

  .83الدعاء لمن قال إني أحبك في الله

(191)  

 ‘May He for whom you have loved me love you.’

(191) 'Aĥabbaka Al-Ladhī 'Aĥbabtanī Lahu.
 
(191) أَحَبَّكَ الَّذِي أَحْبَبْتَنِي لَهُ.
     

84. Supplication said to one who has offered you some of his wealth

 

  .84الدعاء لمن عرض عليك ماله

(192)  

 ‘May Allah bless for you your family and wealth.’

(192) Bāraka Allāhu Laka Fī 'Ahlika Wa Mālika.
 
(192) بَارَكَ اللَّهُ لَكَ فِي أَهْلِكَ وَمَالِكَ.
     

85. Supplication said to the debtor when his debt is settled

 

  .85الدعاء لمن أقرض عند القضاء

 ‘May Allah bless for you your family and wealth. Surely commendation and payment are the reward for a loan.’

(193) Bāraka Allāhu Laka Fī 'Ahlika Wa Mālika 'Innamā Jazā'u As-Salafi Al-Ĥamdu Wa Al-'Adā'u.
 
(193) بَارَكَ اللَّهُ لَكَ فِي أَهْلِكَ وَمَالِكَ، إِنَّمَا جَزَاءُ السَّلَفِ الحَمْدُ وَالأَدَاءُ.
     

86. Supplication for fear of shirk

 

  .86دعاء الخوف من الشرك

shirk: to associate others with Allah in those things which are specific to Him.  This can occur in (1) belief e.g. to believe that other than Allah has the power to benefit or harm (2) speech e.g. to swear by other than Allah and (3) action e.g. to bow or prostrate to other than Allah.

(194)  

 ‘O Allah I take refuge in You lest I should commit shirk with You knowingly and I seek Your forgiveness for what I do unknowingly.’

(194) Al-Lahumma 'Innī 'A`ūdhu Bika 'An 'Ushrika Bika Wa 'Anā 'A`lamu Wa 'Astaghfiruka Limā Lā 'A`lamu.
(194) اللَّهمَّ إِنِّي أَعُوْذُ بِكَ أَنْ أُشْرِكَ بِكَ وَأَنَا أَعْلَمُ، وَأَسْتَغْفِرُكَ لِمَا لا أَعْلَمُ.
     

87. Returning a supplication after having bestowed a gift or charity upon someone

 

  .87الدعاء لمن قال بارك الله فيك

AAaishah reported that the Messenger of Allah r was given a sheep and he ordered for it’s distribution.  When the servant would come back (from distributing it) AAaishah would ask: ‘What did they say?’ he replied: They would supplicate:

 ‘May Allah bless you all.’

…AAaishah would then say:

 ‘and may Allah bless them.’

…we return their supplication in a similar way and our reward remains with us.

(195) Bāraka Allāhu Fīkum. Wa Fīhim Bāraka Al-Lh.
 
(195) بَارَكَ اللَّهُ فِيْكُمْ. وَفِيْهِمْ بَارَكَ اللَّه.
 
     

88. Forbiddance of ascribing things to omens

 

  .88دعاء كراهية الطيرة

This supplication is used whenever one initially thinks a casual event or occurrence to foretell good or evil using it as a basis to determine which action he should undertake but he then denounces such a link relies on Allah and then says this supplication as an expiation for this act since it falls under the category of shirk.

(196)  

 ‘O Allah there is no omen but there is reliance on You there is no good except Your good and none has the right to be worshipped except You.’

(196) Al-Lahumma Lā Ţayra 'Illā Ţayruka Wa Lā Khayra 'Illā Khayruka Wa Lā 'Ilāha Ghayruka.
 
(196) اللَّهمَّ لا طَيْرَ إِلاَّ طَيْرُكَ، وَلا خَيْرَ إِلاَّ خَيْرُكَ، وَلا إِلَه ََ غَيْرُكَ.
